"and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth" You see this every son. Not some, every! he doesnt scourge vessels of wrath only his sons. So if your having a free and easy life and not being tried in the fire then your are a vessel of wrath and not a son. This guy is a false teacher. It reminds me of John Eldredge who is also a false teacher. They preach how you can be the Nimrod, be the hero, it's a lie and not scriptural, they twist the truth. You don't choose God he chooses you.
All of the books coming out these days are not based on the truth of scripture, they quote everyone from shakespeare to aleister crowley, they are new age and leading many astray. Fiery trials are a christians life as that is what it takes to refine the metal but all we see is people teaching you should be rich and take risks and saying your life is bad because you don't have faith, well that is the devil speaking if you read about the temptation of Jesus you will see that.
Won't punish man you are such a scorpion. For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. There is no gamble you idiot. Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
What if I told them if they where not prepared to forsake all that they could not be my disciple, What if I told them if they didn't take up their daily cross and die to self they could not be my disciple, What if I told them if they where not prepared to be hated for my sake they could not be my disciple, What if I told them that God hated Esau and loved Jacob,What if I told them that we are clay in the hands of the potter, What if I told them about vessels of wrath and mercy.
Reading this book at our Men's study and find it very powerful impact on my life along with the other guys, He is the main speaker at Men's RoundUp this coming in September at Camp Tadmor, Lebanon, Oregon. I am looking forward to hear him speak. The comment below states it very well.... God corrects us and disciplines us to show us who we are, so that we won't continue down the road of deceit that is stealing His abundant life in us.
Does God ever punish (chasten) us for disobedience, and if so how? If a Christian continues in a sin are there any consequences in this life or is it that we only lose some reward in heaven?
@bfords1010 God corrects us and disciplines us to show us who we are, so that we won't continue down the road of deceit that is stealing His abundant life in us (see John 10:10)
But most of what we get is simply the principle of reaping and sowing. When we sow to the flesh we reap the consequences. Look at A&E when they ate of the tree KOGAE they sowed to disobedience and reaped the consequences of such. When I overeat it isn't God that makes me fat but me reaping what I have sown to ;-)
@bfords1010 as the video says, God never uses the term "punish" in relation to us. That's right. God loves you more than your parents do. Hell isn't a punishment by God. It's a choice the person made.
@guitargod952 Yes! My thought is that "hell" is just not being with God eternally. Maybe it's nothingness. And I think the only reason people would be there and not with God is because they don't want to be with Him and he's not going to force the issue. I do believe that if someone didn't want God because they were ill in some way, or confused, that he would fix that and then let them choose. God is GOOD. God is LOVE. <3
I've passed it along to several people as well. I just adore John and I love how God speaks through him... Thank you, John Lynch!!! Hugs from Louisiana...
I LOVE this. This is the Prodigal's father talking - and he didn't require repentance before expressing his outrageous love. Repentance was the Prodigal's reponse to the father's love. It's our repsonse to our Father's wild love that is described here.
or is this New Testament Gamble after Repentance? Is this the life on the other side of repenting? vs being an unrepentant sinner condemned and deserving Hell?
Thank you for speaking the truth so powerfully. I am currently watching this everyday with tears in my eyes. The Father is amazing. Thanks again for sharing the truth.
