Kurt would probably love this you idiots, a band he actually respected covering his song, instead of an American Idol contestant devoid of any songwriting talent singing it.
@eric2dea I would tend to agree with you more than most of these commenters - though Pavement was notoriously sloppy at times during their reunion tour. But in this case, seeing it live, I thought sloppy was fun. And Cobain would definitely have rather seen his work performed slipshod rather than crisp and perfect.
I think it's pretty obvious that they're just goofing around, retard. One thing I've always loved about Pavement is their steadfast refusal to take anything--themselves included--too seriously.
i Love Pavement, but kurt would kill himself again if he heard this. I like the fact that Pavement enjoys butchering their own songs live sometimes, but they shouldn't do it to other bands
WTF...I watched Pavements live stream from Matador at 21 in Vegas last night, then dreamed about Pavement playing this Nirvana song...then I randomly find this video. Holy shit.
@ABSINTHE2012 You know, I heard from people that the "Matador at 21" Vegas appearance, and the NY appearances, weren't so good because Malkmus was being a jerk. That wasn't true in Denver, and someone told me it wasn't true in Austin either. Glad I got to see one of the good shoes of the reunion.
@lwirbel I saw them at Coachella, nothing seemed wrong and Malkmus and the rest of the band put on a great performance. I'm not sure what merits some people thinking he's being a jerk and him just being the way he is...it's kind of a Morrissey thing. The only thing I noticed from the Matador 21 stream I watched was when their rhythm guitarist put his guitar down and walked right off just before the last song was finished. The rest of the band stayed and embraced the crowd for a while.
I think mixing it up is great

What's the second song they play? I'm not a big Pavement fan, but it sounds like Sonic Youth.

How long will it take for 12-year-old Nirvana fans to begin posting hate comments?

Thank you for taping this. Malk was in a good mood singing a version of Lithium then teasing Give it a Day. But Box Elder was beautiful.
