I´m going to buy the hero 2 because after 10 months frustrating use of the vio pov hd I´m done with it. I already received the fourth device from Vio and the problem of no camera/head detected stil returns. so out is the vio pov hd and in comes the hero2.
@Scobleizer. That is so excellent that the WiFi option will create an ad-hock network via WiFi. That makes this the FAR better way to do this kind of local remote that the Bluetooth ways devices like Contour and Looxcie are using. Bluetooth's distance and bandwidth can't compare. And the new use of the p2p [or whatever the ad-hoc implementation of wifi is called] is a MAJOR step forward. Thanks so much for the interview.

To clarify, did he confirm that if you just need to use wifi to FRAME image etc through WiFi it would build an AdHock WiFi connection in a place with no existing WiFi network?
And thanks for the interview. -- Eric ZORK Alan [Professional poet & BED VLOGGER]
@iamnotapoet your wifi-enabled GoPro will be able to "local area" stream video to smart-devices and also be controlled by those smart-devices with or without a wifi network. Streaming to the web, however, will require an internet connection or a mobile-hotspot.
