The problem is that the protesters have no idea how to fix things, and are expecting politicians to fix things for them even though they don't know what "fix" is appropriate or actually works. It may create "change" but it could be just as empty as what Obama campaigned for...this seems to be a confusing shout of "i don't like how I'm unemployed. GOVERNMENT DO SOMETHING". Its sort of child like. If they really cared they would do some actual research and create a movement for "X"
"First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win." - Mahatma Gandhi (1869-1948)
Its almost as if the Koch high-jacked Tea Party just kinda kicked things off like a first stage, yelling out about stuff that didn't really matter to our economy. Now at least with Occupy Wall st... the anger and frustration is directed to & focused on the heart of the matter...WALL ST. I think many of us have been hoping for this to appear so that we might become one with it.
First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you and then you win. Sounds like what the 911 truth movement has gone through. I guess the next step is we win and prove it was an inside job...

Except that Ghandi failed. The English left, Ghandi died, and India became one of the most corrupt nations on the planet.
The problem isn't non-violence versus violence in comparative effectiveness. The problem is there are too many stupid people who should never have been born. We've disregarded natural selection and our gene pool has suffered for it.
I hope the peaceful protests work I'm just not confident they will. I'm not saying turn violent or advocating violence in anyway, Especially not now ! I'm just not as optimistic that Peaceful protests will accomplish much of anything... I hope i am wrong !

I often thought we need a global law that no man has more than 500 million in raw, cash. he can have as many companies and commodities as he wants but his dollar value could not exceed 1/2 billion. Keep up the protests globally peeps, all we can lose is more.
"First they ignore, then ridicule, then fight you - then you win. Wall Street and the corporate media will LOOSE TOO", I couldn't agree with you anymore. You took the words out of my mouth.
you cannot compare these protesters to Gandhi, after their first weekend the Villagevoice reported that their numbers had gone down from thousands to hundreds as it had gotten cold, the protests got a second wind due to the policy brutality
@capucchan8 Gandhi movement got more involvement and international attention after people saw the protesters being brutalized.Unfortunately that's how it works.
make this a motto for the occcupy movement. because first they ignored us. then they riduculed us. now their fighting us. sooner or later we shall win. WE CAN WIN MY BROTHER AND SISTERS. WE CAN WIN THIS. KEEP IT UP. NEVER NEVER NEVER SURRENDER.
GUESS THE FIGHT IS COMING. WE ARE READY.
