  • I'll bet you guys regularly set top speed for wheels turning in the pits. Now you need to either put this thing away for good, or make a freakin run! Anybody can build something that sits on blocks when it's at its' finest. Come on!!!!

  • sneeze...

  • 1:56

  • tooooo hot make BOOM!!!

  • JAJAJAJAJA que cagada U.u

  • thank god for straps lol

  • @haschelha

more than a turbo is good for :)

  • intake... backfire... boom gos the dynamite.... i gotta wonder if the guy that looked like he was running the clutch mistakenly bliped the thortal while it was lean.

  • i was thinkin about lowering the jack in the back when they were revving it up haha

  • lttle diet coke fix that

  • Sry, but what is a blower good for?

  • @haschelha Basically it crams a bunch more air in so you can burn more fuel and get a bunch more power.

  • It was hard watching this video knowing what was going to happen. Sorry dudes.

  • Drives me crazy when they spend two and a half minutes on a video in which the good part is only fifteen seconds long.

  • Bwahaha!!..expensive pyrotechnics

  • Talk about "poppin' the top"............

  • this is my new hobby: watch blowers explode on youtube

  • OH-NO ,NO ,NO! WTF is this crew thinking?! Or NOT thinking i should say.Thank god they didn't opt to forgo other safety requirements like the blower straps....I seriously hope that the safety crew investigated this and /or got hold a this video. These people need to be MADE to get thier shit together and prove that they can be trusted around dangerous conditions b4 they get someone killed. The people i race with/around are proud to put SAFETY FIRST.NO 1 (else) should have to die EVER,its 2011 wtf?

  • This clown should be barred from every track still left..How stupid can a person be...Don't care how long he thinkgs he's been doing this..Absolutely STUPID..

  • now me and the mad scientist have to rip it apart and replace the parts you fried :)

  • @suffolkspankdaddy all wrong...massive fail

  • @suffolkspankdaddy Hahahaha!!!! I'M IN YO FACE!!!!

  • @suffolkspankdaddy close ,but what he said was.. Now, me and the mad scientist got to rip apart the block... and replace the piston rings you fried.

  • It didn't hydro it went lean becous they where trying to shut it of (listen to the high rpm), and there for it bak fired. Hydro lock happens inside the cylinder. This was the intake and blower that popped

  • and boom goes the dynomite

  • Dear me. . . training video on what NOT to do!

Best part is the clown with the temp gun still checking stuff after it backfired and lifted the blower. . . good work mate.

  • See the way he disconnected the starter? Stepped on the cable and yanked the plug off. Nice!!

  • ran lean for to long.....boom.....melted intake valve

  • could be wrong but it looked to me like they used the jack to raise it, it was sitting on stands and they just left the jack sitting there under the pig. if it was only on the jack it would have been rocking back and forth while they crawled all over it. Used to be people would line up to crew for you, I can barely get anyone to come with on a darn test and tune. The old guy that didn't know how to work the fire extinguisher should have been in the cockpit. I'm betting the rear was on stands

  • WOW that was dangerous. Please don't have anyone in control of the car, that would make sense....

  • I especially like the guy at the end pouring his cup of water or soda on the motor. Thank GOD for blower straps!! Definitely agree with Beastmaster, stay away from this crew. Good thing nobody was injured.......

  • that was expensive

  • like poof bitch be gone!

  • These retards are going to get someone killed in the pits. The blower popping was the best thing that could have happened.

  • Its funny when the guy with the timing light gun goes back to timing after the explosion...hehehehehe he's like oh well.

  • @nelzxws timing light???? all I seen was laser heat sensing gun all timing lights need to be hooked to the #1 cyl and batt andis aimed at the harmonic balencer not the headers

  • @GeorgeVeld these motors dont have harmonic balancers...lol

  • @rd2fst My point was that you dont time an engine at the headers but by way of timing marks on the balancers

As for theas engines not having balancers i have seen them with and without if without then the blower pully has the marks on it

The two that we sponserd had balancers on them

  • how did it keep running the blower compresses the gas...if it doesnt pump in wouldnt it stop firing ....because the compression is too low

  • @farmerbrown29

naw, most modern engines have direct fuel injection, so the blower only compresses the air, thus there would still be enough compression and fuel in the cylinder to keep the engine running without the blower, but power goes way down.

  • @Jesus45U but if there was only a small amount of air fed into the cylinder it would hydro lock...

  • @farmerbrown29

    Hydro lock ?

I'm sure a dragster push a lot of fuel into the cylinders and all, but stil not nearly enough to hydro lock it.

Especially in a large capacity engine such as this ... you's probably need a pint or two to hydrolock it. :)

  • @Jesus45U a dragster like that burns nearly 3 gallons of fuel in a quarter...or more

  • @farmerbrown29

True, but there was no load on here ... so less fuel ... I doubt it would be enough to hydrolock it.

    Still, a valid point.

  • @Jesus45U if hdro lock it would have blown rods or crank not intake also if hydolock the engine would have stopped almost instantlyand notreved up or even continued to run after the first pop

  • @GeorgeVeld

True, a hydro lock would have stopped it awfully fast, and probably broken something quite badly.

  • DONE SON !!!

  • Making your tires move while doing that isn't safe or is it?

  • Anyone who feals they are above the Rule book, please stay home on race day so that I may see my Family again, God willing...I know this man and money is short, but he try's and he never has given up, but he is not safe in this video, that's the view that I see.......Bro Beast owner/driver "American Pride" Team Infineon Raceway!

  • I don't know who posted that remark about jack and stands but we all know this was just wrong and very dangerous....Bro Beast...

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA thats just made my saturday

  • I just wanna say if there had been a fire you would have been screwed because the guy with the fire extinguisher showed up a hour later and didnt know how to operate the damn thing. Hell at least the guy with the sandwhich was on top of it ready to sacrifice his beverage!

  • Thumbs up for earmuffs!

  • NHRA does not allow this, someone must be in the car! This looks farely recent to,judging from the injector scoop/restraints/etc.,where the hell is the safety crew/track management?

  • @72bigblockmonte Dude shit the hell up. Dont come here to be Mr.Safety. They have done it for years and are doing just fine if they are still alive. So keep your comments to yourself.

  • @TsS7VEN Yah,good response,I wonder how many tracks you've been kicked out of?Oh,that's right, you don't really have a car do you! If those idiots were pitted beside me,believe me,they would be gone! They've been doing it for years?DOUBTFULL! I hope YOU are s[ectating one day when thier car comes off the stands at 4000 rpm and drives you into a fence,or a wall! YOU are a MORON,that crew is TOTALLY unproffesional,if you can't see that, you are a tool. SAo as you so eloquently stated, shit up!

  • @TsS7VEN Well, maybe, but NHRA and IHRA both require a driver whenever the car is lit. If they tried this at a track they'd be on the trailer in a heartbeat.

Have a license? Have a rule book? Know how to spell "shut"?

  • hmmmm this vs a camaro ss 2011

  • I realy beleve that if the cylinder on that jack let loose and this dragster hit the ground that at the speed of the tires spinning would not cause any damage to the Dragster or anyone else around it......just ask this ass beebeer111.......he seems to know that this dragster idels at 2560 rpm and was at over 4000 rpm twice when this was filmed ...yea this is why I don't race at Daves Sacramento raceway anymore......go Infineon....this car is not allowed there.

  • @Beastmaster769 No cylinder on the jack. The have solid one piece jackstands that hold up either the front of the back. Or they had better.

  • 2:39 AAAWWSSSOOOMMMEEE FIREMAN

  • Comment removed

  • Beastmaster769 your such a spaz they can still control the engine from where there standing

  • skip to 1:56 if you want to see the engine go pop

  • that sounded expensive.

  • dont have to worry about the car falling of the stands this time .I dont get the blower goes boom and the kid with the temp gun is trying to get temp. reading how about shutting it down fuel kill switch bunch of maroons hope they never get it to run these guys are the reason we have safety rules which they dont follow

  • SOmeone would have died were it not for the kevlar blankets

  • Did anyone else shit there pants

  • @9lives22 not really .

  • your screwing around with thousands of nitro burning hp, GET IN THE F'ING COCKPIT!!!

  • it loaded up in the intake and when they let out of it it popped

  • At 1:40 watch the tires.

  • 2:05 sounds just like an old John Deere tractor.....

  • I don't know who these folks are but on this day, the old man appears to be part of the flaw in the process. He's drag assing around (no pun intended), apparently not AT ALL observant of anything and didn't react worth a shit when it blew. Those kinds of people are hazardous around what is essentially a controlled bomb. The other thing I noticed is the red rag on the ground got sucked someplace right before it blew. Couldn't really tell, but wondered if it got sucked up into the blower belt.

  • umm yeah sopost have some one in the car at all time when the car is running on stands like that

  • I'm sure they're all nice guys and they've invested a lot of hard work but this is one LOW BUDGET OPERATION. Look at the truck & trailer. DAMN.

  • I've had a engine run on before in the pits, with out spark. I was quick 2 smother the injector 2 shut it down and save the engine. Lucky it happened in the warm up because it was a motorcycle. Tommy, u r 2 b commended for the work u and your helpers have put into this engine.

  • @dozer3955 ive seen engines diesel like that before too.. couple time they were old briggs and stratton engine with a lot of carbon deposits acting as glow plugs because the sharp burs on the carbon would glow red hot and run with the spark plug wire off. ive also heard of gasoline engines dieseling because the compression was too high and when you hit the kill switch they would still run because the compression autoignites the fuel just like in a diesel

  • @1rad58 In my case it was simply throttle hung open slightly.

  • @dozer3955 Yeah, it's when you lean it out too fast. Like say, if you pull the fuel with WOT. Or the pump quits pumping. I've seen blowers also go off after a quick rap. Fuelers (actually any mechanically injected engine) like to run at idle or full tilt (aka WOT)

  • Too bad !!......after all that work and money spent developing your quad cam

heads and setup. Have you given up on it ?? You really should have had someone in the seat though...hopefully, next time.

  • i always thought it was supposed to do that

  • nice little spray at the end lol

  • 1:55 for those waiting

  • Is this an experimental dragster? It seems to be very short like the new nostalgia class but has a modern engine and rear wing! Does anybody know anything of this project?

  • you didnt see the driver in there? look again

  • 3 IDIOTAS ! E O CULPADO DI TUDO !........ AQUELE TIUZINHO DE CHAPEU ! QUE NAO PARO DE FUXI

  • Explosion @1:54

  • Safety is of no concern to this crew, been doing this for 40 years and please all of you note never have your engine running with out someone behind it in CONTROL, this Team is out of it......don't you be....Beastmaster.

  • @Beastmaster769 Good call, Beastmaster. To the retard in the blue hat crawling over the car while running, well we can only hope that one day he'll get off the car and assume the role of the man holding the kill switch.

  • @AnthJP Kill switch?? Shows what you know about nitro...........NOTHING, you shut off a nitro engine by turning off the fuel supply.

  • It is very odd that even though the blower hat was off the top of the block, it kept getting fuel and air into the chamber. Now air I can understand, but the fuel should have been cut off. Unless they had an electric fuel pump, which would explain why it kept going. This was a very good example of why REAL pit crew wear flame retardant shirts, gloves, and whatnot. Now, it did look like a nitro backfire, and it looks like it actually split the fuel line, because that is what appears to be burning

  • @TheRednecknerd Funny, I worked for several "REAL" pit crews over the years in the NHRA in top fuel and funny car and we never wore flame retardant shirts and gloves. In fact most all teams crew guys were either jersey gloves or white cotton gloves during services. I myself during teardown wore white cotton gloves we ordered from mcmaster-carr in bulk. And the crew shirts are all cotton or nylon. Think I'm full of shit, go to a race and ask them.

  • uncle was the white head that did shit ...

  • That's the beautiful thing about Nitromethane. It is like having an adult size RC car. You know that stuff you put in to your gas pwered rc car is the same stuff except with an RC car two stroke oil is added. So why is the engine trying to run on. It was still getting spark and air/raw fuel into a few of the cylinders, Nitro doesnt need spark to run. it needs compression. Although it should have spark to run efficiently.

  • @hdcuz1 I hate to tell you but nitro has to have a spark to run in a nitro engine. Just because an rc car runs without a spark plug on 5 to 10% nitro in no way means that 90% nitro can be lit without it. That fact is that nitro has to have 3 things to light. 1st, it has to be a minumum 98 degrees, 2nd, it has to be compressed, and 3rd, IT HAS TO HAVE AN IGNITION SOURCE. I work with this fuel daily and do know what I am talking about!

  • @cfaulc Ok then explain why is it that when a dragster engine loses the magneto or the spark why does the engine still fire. Let me answer for you. Because the tempature is above 98 degrees and the compression. I race and have raced cars in the past and have lost total ignition source power and the engine has run on. Just like when a regular gas engine is out of time and you shut the ignition off it too will run on. Although not all cylinders will fire some cylinders will fire with no ign.

  • @hdcuz1 I'll be more than happy to explain. First, the only way it will light is when an engine has leaned out so bad going down track and cylinder temperatures are extremely high, usually resulting in melting of the combustion chamber in the cylinder head, thus creating a spark of sort for a couple of seconds. Here's the part I don't think you get though. At that time it is not the nitro lighting, it is the alcy creating the initial spark and extra pressure that in turn can light the nitro.

  • @hdcuz1 Cont'd: remember, alcohol has a lower flash point and is what creates the true ignition source from the melting head. If that were pure nitro it most likely would not hit or the head would be gone from the static explosion that was about to take place. To be able to burn the volume of fuel in the cylinder going down track it takes 40 plus amps per generator (MAG) to light the charge of nitro in the cylinder. Any more questions?

  • @hdcuz1 Just because you've "raced" does not mean you know exactly how a nitro engine functions. Take anything you might know about fuel volume and ignition about a pump gas engine and throw it out the window other than basic premise when it comes to running one of these beast. Trust me, there's 18 years of nitro experience im pulling from, not trying to be a smartass but running a comp. dragster and running a fuel burner are two totally different animals.

  • @cfaulc I stand corrected I guess i should have refered to it as requires a spark to run. as I staed why it was running on,,,, So why is the engine trying to run on. It was still getting spark and air/raw fuel into a few of the cylinders. My mistake saying it did not need spark, I was trying to refer to the rc car issue as an example not a law. My apologies sir, P.S I have raced gassers and comp so i'm not totally out of the loop and thanks for giving me a lesson. wagner motorsports.

  • @hdcuz1 It is a RARE thing for one of these nitro burners to lose spark during a run. The engine in this vid is a oddball configuration but still uses a closely configured ignition system. You can litteraly blow the supercharger off of a fuel engine but still have fuel delivery from the down nozzles in the head and ignition from the generators, hence it will still fart, pop, and run. The new safety systems kill fuel which is a big help.

  • @hdcuz1 Cont'd: most all teams have a live ignition system at the end of a run, very seldom do the drivers shut down the ignition system. When we go to the shutdown area to get the car one mans responsibility is to shut the ignition system off, or make sure the driver did, and then install ground wires to the coils as a failsafe so we can back the engine down by hand before returning to the pit area and start our service.

  • @cfaulc Thanks for giving me the heads up Its been a few years for me now running comp. I run a 70 Nova with and NRE twin turbo charger now 402 with an alien intake and on pump gas shes pullin about 1500hp, switch to both fuel systems on the fly and increase boost she pulls 2100 with 1950ft lbs at the rear wheels. Daily drive runs like a kitty kat with the AC on.

  • @cfaulc Have a fantastico day.

  • Hey, Where do you get the starter motor? what is the model? What are the specs for the gear redution? Thanks

  • and thats why they are tied down and wrapped in kevlar. Im shocked it kept running though.

  • In slow motion when you can here the engine going back up in rpms it sounds like an old John Deere two cylinder! :D

  • Amazing how it kept running lol

  • wow i cant belive thear is no driver in the car ho will fire up a top fuel car like this they look like they dont know what they are doing

  • The best part was when the gazelle caught the albino squirrel and they took a ride down to Eltacos for a new set of vaves..Always cracks me up that bit, nearly as funny as when Andy Carter took out Bernstein with no body work and a sre ankle caused by the low flying clutch disc from WJs stocker..

  • ok let the floor jack down . pop goes a engine dumb

  • Instructions:

    1) Let video load

    2) Click Play

    3) Press 7 & 8 to make your own music! Giggity.

  • Sorry fellas but i'm still larfin........LOL....LOL.....LOL

  • That will teach ya for skimping out on the nitro.........LOL. Man that thing was lean. Probably would have hooked up alright on the track for a split second before it blew providing the driver didn't forget to hop in first.

  • MAN THEY ARE TOUCHY FUCKING THINGS.

  • dude is still trying to check the header temp after the blower poped off...lmao...... Wow

  • this video still cracks me up, no way should this car have a TF cert ,these guys will hurt someone ,i wouldn't stand to close anyone ,looks like a bunch of monkies trying to fuck a football ,and no one can find the football

  • this video still cracks me up to watch thses bunch of idiots on nitro ,CLASSIC ,plz nhra tech cars no way should this car have a TF license

  • Kids, this is why you wear eye protection.

  • First time I saw this car at the track my dad said "don't stand too close, it blows up a lot." He further mentioned the car has never seen a full pass. These guys and car are just danger to the fans, other races, and themselves. I appreciate the design, but do the testing in a safe place.

  • @Classicnovaguy lol @ it blows up alot

  • Please fall off the jack, please fall off the jack, please fall of the jack, was I the only one?

  • @deathcar nope ha ha

  • @deathcar No! (=

  • @deathcar nope me 2 it happend to me once so i want revenge lol

  • @deathcar are you as stupid as the crew with this car?? WTF would you want it to fall off the jack stands??? To take off an maybe kill some inocent person standing by watching... What a dumbfuck.

  • @deathcar omg dat be sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo wtf funny

  • man look at all that fire you had there im glad u had that great big fire exstinguisher

  • @frontenginedragsterd

But driver should be sitting in driversseat, not outside...

  • 1.51 for explosion

  • Shit happens...

  • good old american muscle it still wanted to run even though it was blown.

  • how much hp does it got?

  • 30 yrs experience?? at what??,,McDonalds checkout??. Love the gorilla move by the one guy trying to work the levers by standing on the car,,,NICE!!

  • It is indeed on nitro. Seen it many times in person. Never from very close (personal decision). Tom has been working on this motor/car for the better part of 30 years. The car actually has a current top fuel tag on the chassis. Not sure how.

Yes, warming the car up with no one in it is a fatality waiting to happen, however track management continues to look the other way. Sacramento is a good ol' boys track for sure. Tom has made it out a couple times this year too.

  • Wow! The Three Stooges would be safer than those idiots! Ban then from entering a track,

  • Whats all this talk of Nitro? Notice the lack of Nitro exhaust. Its an alcohol dragster. Day ruined...instantly. Looks like they should invest some money in their dually pickup and old rickety trailer. I wouldn't show up with a car like that...in a rig like that.

  • jalopy.

  • Shit that sounded like a gunshot!

  • I like how the guy goes back to check the timing after the blower has popped

  • @r1wantone He's not holding a timing light it's an infared thermometer. They were

checking header temps. What would compel them to keep it running after it popped.

They are lucky it didn't go up in flames.

  • Looks like it jumped timing. 1:55 is the moment its ruined. Belt slipped, something happened. Then it overworked the blower. Pop.

  • dude... one of the old cacklers at pomonas cackle fest blew there blower and it blew so hard that you could feel it bump your chest.

  • Cam timing was out, it exploded, and not under load, means it got fire under an open intake valve.

  • Is this a blown alcohol car? Or fuel?

  • after watching the other videos of this car ,it makes me think just because u can somehow afford the nitro doesn't mean it's a good idea ,this is redneck on nitro for sure ,this thing looks like it should b running on some track in arkansas

  • on second look is that guy pouring coffee on the fire O_o?

  • Comment removed

  • Guess this is a great example of "Bang for the Buck", Just not the type of bang you'd be looking for. :D

  • thats why you wear safety glasses....

  • will this dragster even pass tech ?,by the looks of the trailer and the car this is a real low buck outfit

  • oops, watched again, it burst at 1:56

  • Surprised the blower lifted as the burst plate blew at 1:53. Bummer...don't give up!!

  • lol first blow it up then hit the throttle one more time XD

  • id like to be the first to say ... holy jesus!!!!! and what the ehll caused that?

  • I count three people who shit their pants in this video

  • @nashvilleraidersfan hahahhahahahah lol

  • Hey its still running go ahead LOL JK

  • LOVE THIS TRACK! Governors cup is the best cuz of the jet cars :P

  • Oh dear,, Guys ya should have shut it down shortly after 1.30, I could clearly hear it leaning out and getting worse, I was sqworming in my chair listening to the poor girl get hotter and hotter. Do you monitor the cylinder head and or exhaust temp? I go by the saying "Shut down before melt down" But i must say a very nice set up. sounded crisp at .20 seconds keep it up tough kit you got there!! :-) Good luck.

  • I like how the guy with the blue hat didn't give a shit.

  • poor bastards, give them a break. they look like a tight budget team judging on how old that car looks. good on you for giving it a go guys!!

  • NICE..... I especially like the monkey jumping back and forth over the front of the car operating the brake and the fuel shut off.....Morons running a car with out someone in the seat!

  • @rcabbrider maybe they couldn't afford the peanuts to have one sitting in the thing!

  • Beautiful car... bummer

  • stupid hillbillies...

  • what he did was the same as back peddling . you never back peddle a blower or she will blow every time . he killed the gas and then turned it back on ......

  • wtf is this the engine looks like a barrage of items its to messy to even be tamperd with.

  • Its a twin cam car... experimental. He has been messing with this stuff for years.
