  • I dont like how hes using the emergency 'kill switch' as a generic off button.... those switch sets are very pricey units... why not just turn it off with the key like it was designed to do...

  • Just for all you smartasses commenting on that this won't help them in a chase - these exercises are all about control and maneuvering over 300 kg of machinery in tight spots. That might help an officer going through shortcuts and traffic jams - spaces a car is useless in.

  • props to these guys for sure. low speed cornering is hard as frozen shit. but for as ridiculously hard as this may be, if theyre chasing another motorcycle, theres no way theyll be going this slow. i mean if youre at these speeds, just get off the bike and chase them down on foot. probably be easier. i think the need to make some of it more like real corners theyll encounter in a chase. not saying they dont already but this is a little much

  • mmmmm.. good begining ;D

  • u cant do this with bmw or hayabusa..ths bike is the best..

  • @metalluie, actually there was an white Bimmer K1200 at 2:30, dude :)

  • I love this because it really shows how your body becomes an extension of the bike.

  • Honda pan European

  • i would personally be better than those guys if on a KZ1000...

  • Does the criminal get-a-way course follow this training session or is it on the job training?

  • now we need to train how to run from them...

  • Great job, Congratulations, search CEMOPOL on Youtube or Facebook

  • That is a MUCH better motorcycle than the HD.

  • An ST without bags is like a Harley without chrome.

  • Be sure to watch my video on "how to escape motorcycle police" by running four feet in one direction then running three feet in another direction... repeat as needed.

  • Yup.. been to some of these rodeos. I'd like to see some of these courses set-up for different makes of bikes to ride. The balance of the motorcycle makes a big difference. The BMW RT bikes would more than likely be best on theses types of courses.

  • The cameraman should clean up the lens.

    ;)

  • @zipotarri one word.....microfiber.

  • Most of this is pretty easy once you know how. Clutch on friction point, steady throttle, control speed with back break. Nice vid, I miss doing these exercises! ;)

  • i love the sound, its like a turbine

  • Let's hope that the next criminal who runs from the Police does it through a series of cones!

  • some of those guys are pretty darned good. Tough course with those bikes.

  • I owned an st1100 95' bright red pearl. A fantastic motorcycle. 96 hp and silent. I used to drag the pegs on curves! I guess the 1300 is a little better.

  • That DORK needs to go to a BASIC Motorcycle Safety Foundation class to get the BASICS of how to turn down! LOOK where you want to go squidly

  • Ugly motorcycle

  • i have a 08 one, with abs on it , like the red one on the flim but i see he dont have any boxes on his , you must learn to ride the bike at very slow speed ,and keep your feet up" try sharp turns at 3 to 5 mph, to get the hang of any bike , anybody can speed along , but at 3 to 5 mph figures of 8 ,will tell you how good you are ,

  • Let's see. Over 40 comments so far .. do ANY of you OWN an ST1300? I bought an '06 new from the show floor. I rode it 22,000 in the first four months I had it... WONDERFUL bike and handles well. But with any gear and fuel aboard it is a 750 monster that can break a leg in a heartbeat if you are not careful. This training not only builds the confidence to ride the bike within it's wide range of design limits it makes you understand just how to keep it up and running when others might go down.

  • I own an 1150RT. It's a 635lb monster with 220lb of rider on top. Spent a lot of time in the parking lot with a tape measure and about two dozen cones yet I'm nowhere near them guys. I get on the bike, ride for an hour and then spend the next 8 hours at work. They get on a bike and ride 8 hours FOR work. I don't think any stoppie-popper crotch rocket astronaut can outride them. I tried, and lost...

  • what the fuck are they doing? if its like a test then yea i see but they dont even look like theyre trying to do anything beneficial. why dont they hit the track or something and throw down some lap times, that would make handling better on the road.

  • its called control you can do or you cant lap times on a track bollocks try road racing do the Isle of Mann or the North West 200 then you will want some controll

  • well i dont want them improving on their skills anyways. i wanna be able to outride them and run lol

  • Don't try to run from one of those

  • No throttle tamers used on the bikes. It's all clutch and throttle control... using that friction point and just a little bit of throttle with it.

  • Does anyone know if they are using Throttle Tamers on thier bikes? How is the EFI not so herky jerky like the stock ST's?

  • haha i could do it on my dirtbike :D

  • looks fun

  • i would of liked to see the top end of those bikes.

  • When I took my state test for my motorcycle license they had this deal the slower you went the better your score and if you took your feet off the pegs and put your feet down it went against you. I did fine and aced it, but seriously who gives a shit if you need to put your feet down for balance, It is the real world

  • Putting your foot down while your bike in motion will more than likely end in serious injury...that's why.

  • lol you're a fucking retard thats not true at all. you hold your foot out and "tap" the ground to keep your self upright and how will you get seriously injured going less than 5 mph

  • Wow you hurt my feelings. Why don't you do me a favor and attend a police motorcycle training course. All of the training that is taught, you never put your foot down. It is discouraged because of injuries that are sustained as a result. These are not dirt bikes these bikes weigh 800 lbs plus

  • in reply to rassmith78 If these bike did weigh over 800 lbs, which they don't it seems like it would be more dangerous to not put your foot down and then fall over than to keep yourself upright by putting your foot out

  • 719 lbs, minus the police gear. Once it starts to go over it'd be hard to stop.

  • that is my point

  • you must be a hwy patrol officer and full of shit ,and yourself. I have 36 years of bike riding experience and find your comment ridiculous. While riding at hwy speeds you would be correct, at lowers speeds it is far from the truth.

  • Give me a break dude....I'd comment but it doesn't matter...you have 36 yrs of experience so you know it all.

  • The so called experts that are teaching these courses made this stuff up. Just like speeding kills, it is about money, they don't give a damn about any of us. It's not the officers fault obviously it's the dumb ass rules, we are not allowed to use common sense. And put rules in place to keep darwin from doing his work

  • I have 37 years of experience...

  • good, less me ask your opinion then, in all of your riding expreience has putting your feet down in a low speed situation caused you injury or harm?. I honestly don't care about rassmith78's opinion, I checked his page and most of the comments he gets are cursed insults, hahaaaaa.

  • it might be true about the injury thing but i think the main porpuse for keeping your feet on the pegs at all times (unless stopped, naturally) is to show that your in control of the bike. its almost like riding with your fingers over the brake, it shows that your scared and not confident in your abilities.

  • watch my video of me rolling on the throttle mind you I was holding the camera with my left , I'm not scared of these bikes. It's just made up bullshit. Sure it shows balance but it is unnecessary, doesn't matter in the real world, you put your foot down if you need to.

  • of course you put your feet when you have to. i was just saying that the instructors what to see this, its like the 10 to 2 hand postion on the steering wheel who real does that after their test (very few!). when i done my test thats what my instructor told me, nothing to do with injuries. i put my feet down and push all the time when parking my bike (especially when two up) and never have had an injury doing it! and i meant to the instructor it shows fear and lack of confidence.

  • The ten and 2 position on the wheel, that is another example of some people trying to conjure some reasoning about testing that is immaterial. Stick to the facts and be objective. Do they exhibit control of the bike or are they reckless, that should be all that matters. Police and their rules are sometimes over the top and unnecessary. And there is not universal application of said rules

  • nice riding very good its amazing how they lean the bike so much a slow spped

  • its great to see them training to grab bad people without getting off the bike. thats what eatting too much doughnuts do to you.

  • My motorcycle instructor rode a Honda ST1300. He made it look as easy as these guys, even with a pillion on board!

  • omg they look sou heavy. damn how they do it?

    respect 5+

  • i dont think i could even keep the bike upright ROFL!!!...

  • pull a wheelie with one of them haha

  • I'll bring a Vespa and set a new track record.

  • whats the fucking point oh ya if there following a man on fo9ot whos running through a cone maze? or there driving down the road and omfg there like 45 infant baby's lieing on the ground better dodge them at low speeds

  • It's a simulation of going around traffic... if there are cars in the way, you have to get around them at slow speeds, as fast as possible and without damaging anything.

Slow speed control is very valuable to a motorcycle rider.

A police man on a motorcycle can filter through traffic a lot faster than a car.

  • id take that over a road king

  • Damn those guys are good in tight areas I won't even attempt that I might knock all of them over.

  • those bikes are too nice and expensive to be used as training bikes

  • he is doing good. most people couldnt even ride that bike. i saw one at the dealer and it is like the size of a car and weighs like one.

  • thats cool :D
