This film is not a remake of the vastly inferior Executioners from Shaolin, as that film primarily deals with Hong Xiguan whereas Clan of the White Lotus (not Fist of the White Lotus)deals with his son, played by Wong Yue in Executioners from Shaolin and Gordon Liu in this film. Yes, the movies are similar, but Pai Mei is killed in the beginning of this film by Hung Wen-ding but he is killed by Hung at the end of Executions from Shaolin. If anything, this film is a sequel, not a remake.

I have stated this before, but since so many people get it wrong, I will state it again: LO LIEH DOES NOT PLAY PAI MEI, ie White Eye Brows, IN THIS MOVIE, WILSON TONG DOES. This very video shows him getting killed. Lo Lieh plays Priest White Lotus, not Pai Mei, which is Chinese for White Brows. The crappily dubbed version of the film refers to him as Pai Mei, and that is the likely source of the confusion.
