  • wow!! love this scene!!...hey!! anyone knows the name of the piano song?! its so relaxing :3

  • @fankindom I wish I knew it too! Its not in the soundtrack unfortunately =(

  • @destinyshatter awww...it sounds like a pretty good song :3 ...but anyway, thanks for answer! :D

  • o.< Ooh, ouch.

  • I think Genesis is going to be the one to put Sephiroth down for good. It would be fitting. For Sephiroth's friend to put him down. If I remember right, Genesis is Sephiroth's only friend left. Even if Sephiroth is evil, it doesn't mean he has lost ALL of his humanity. But that's what I think anyway.

  • @KurtDonaldCobain1994 that would definitely be an interesting scenario and I'm hoping the sequel would turn out this way.

  • @destinyshatter

    Wait they're making a sequel?

  • @KurtDonaldCobain1994

He pretty much went at Zack to kill. While Zack may have not been his "friend" like Angeal and Genesis, they still had their moments. Sephiroth definitely lost his humanity. If he hadn't, would he have let Genesis rott or would he have given his cells to cure his degradation?

  • When I see this, I wonder: Did the Goddess reject him because of his trespasses, or did She repel him from the Lifestream because She didn't yet want him to die?

That blow from Zack landed him in the Lifestream. By all accounts, he should be dead, yet he lived after Minerva pushed him out of there...

The look of confusion/hurt on Genesis's face could be that he finally found Her but can't stay with Her, or that She doesn't want him at all, so it really does work both ways. So complicated....

  • After all, LOVELESS alludes to the gift of the Goddess being life itself, and the "water" in the poem could represent the LifeStream...

And Genesis did say that what he now wants most is the gift of the Goddess...

At 1:03, it certainly doesn't seem like She is angry with him (looks like a small, soft smile to me).

Ouuu~ Maybe I'm reading too much into this. OTL

  • haha no you are not looking in too deeply. It really is fascinating and deeper than it may initially appear. That is what makes this such a good cutscene. Its because it raises so many questions about Genesis and Minerva's motives and agendas.

  • Well I read a translated copy of the Crisis Core Ultimania and it mentions how Genesis survives and decides to turn a new leaf by being the "protector" of the planet as shown in Dirge of cerberus. Im guessing while she rejected him, she also allowed him to survive so that he can can perform his duties perhaps as an act of repentance.

  • That would expain in his Act IV, the "Silent Sacrifice."

    Hmmm!!

  • @destinyshatter

Or rather, as quoted by the wiki. "Looked into his soul and seeing his unselfish desire and will to "complete his duty as a SOLDIER" she revives him as a reflection of the will of the Lifestream."

  • yeah i feel bad for him too

  • that was extremely sad even though it was really short that part of the game almost made me cry it was just so sad

  • Yea its a pretty depressing game...as much of jerk Genesis was...he did it all just so he can be the hero for his "goddess".

  • she's beautiful
