Oh dear. I was hoping that maybe it would go right into Part 2 (I have the original single on TK-distributed Brownstone)...my single fades out before it gets to the point where it's cut off.
Maybe one day the complete version of this will be released. I hope so. But again, thanks for posting.
Also, is there more to this? I understand it's on the "Funky Men" compilation, which is most of Brown's productions output on the TK label between 1976 and 1980. It cuts off so abruptly!
PaulDA, I couldn't agree with you more. I like this version way better than I did the one on the "Jam 1980's" LP. It was originally issued on the Brownstone label in 1977.
It could be Charles. I'm really not a fan of Charles singing. I bought his album when it came out in the '70s but never really liked it and traded it to DJ Pari ( a James Brown fan who was on that JB forum) for some JB CDs I think.
His album, "Music For Sweet People"? I just downloaded it yesterday. I had it on vinyl in the 80's. I want to put that track "Give The Woman A Chance" on my Soul Classics channel. Obviously, women love that track.
To my mind, remembering that "Sweet" Charles Sherrell sings in both a high "falsetto" voice, and a deeper "tenor" voice, I am minded to think it is Sweet Charles in his deeper voice mode. Just my guess though...

Who is that singing? I can't find my copy of the album right now, but it's not Mr. Brown.

So it's two votes for Sweet Charles. What you say about that, Paul? Reminds me I've got to post some Sweet Charles to my other channel...!

Much better to me than the original longer album version, but not as good as the 1979 Toronto concert version.
