hahaha i remeber me and my brother used to play this and we never really got passed the first couple stages because we kept fighting each other XD and throwing each other off the edges hahaha that was so fun loved the music too
beating the shit out of guys with bars will always be hilarious to me, as soon as this track started playing the memory of the action and sound effects had me laughing my ass off. :D
This song has a better feel and more creativity with its notes than the SNES. Just because the instruments in SNES were better does not mean the melodies were. If anything, the SNES's version lacked.
is it funny that i laugh when people bash the other version? i mean i frankly think that SNES has some better tunes and Genesis has OTHER better tunes (more of em but i was a gen-kid) but i do not knock the SNES, and i laugh reading all the comments about quality and instrument choices.
is funny how SNES fanboys talk about better quality, but when you tell them that megaman x3 music in psx is better or earthworm jim music on pc is better, they disagree.
@93bendzsi,LOL.....WOW boss fight music.hahahahaha
I could careless if there is a beat for it.
Stage 2 is better on the genesis version though. I give you that. Especially with the designs of those bikes.I wish the SNES version had a scene after you beat the boss you could see them bloody and bruised up.
Snes still had superior music.
Genesis version stage 6-7 music BLOWS...Doesn't even compare to the SNES
SNes has BETTER music software, and great instrument sounds. Check these "drums". It doesn`t sounds REAL. Neither talking about the guitar (or syntethized).
Check SNes version. You just can`t BE blind: that`s a great drums sound and a great electric guitar.
Concluding:
You MAY prefer this version versus the Snes one. I agree. That IS subjective.
BUT, talking about quality, SNes IS BETTER. That`s not subjective. Sorry. As I said, it`s about quality. ;)
@ScorpionHawk333 This one has a better beat. The SNES version is more mellow. It's really a matter of taste. No version is better than the other. There are just as many good soundtracks on the Genesis as there are on the SNES.
@ScorpionHawk333 So if a game on Genesis has crystal clear synthesized instruments and the SNES version has muffled and distorted sampled instruments, the quality is still better on SNES?
@KaskelotenZebbe Muffled & distorted sampled instruments? What? I have all 3 versions of this game on emulator and the SNES audio quality is definitely clearer.
@KaskelotenZebbe Apparently you haven't actually listened to both versions to contrast them. The SNES version has notes that are missing from this version. It also overlaps the sounds of the music that this version separates between 0:21 - 0:35 and 1:03 - 1:18.
@KaskelotenZebbe So they sacrificed the integrity of the music by cutting out notes and isolating sections to support heavy, distorted bass, and that makes the stripped versions of the music better? And left the more intricate sound reproductions for the inferior audio hardware? That makes no sense.
@JudgeBasch Because the SNES version is quantifiably better. This version is even missing notes of the music (i.e. @ 0:13, 0:21, 0:28 & 0:38). Not to mention, notice how 0:21 - 0:35 sounds different than 1:03 - 1:18? That's not because the composition for the music is actually different, they just had to isolate those parts in this version; the SNES version is able to play those parts concurrently because it has additional audio channels available.
@JudgeBasch U must be smoking crack if u think this 8 bit sound version is better then the SNES there is no way in the hell this is better then the SNES i hope u was just kidding and not serious about that really because everybody in the whole world knows that SNES had the best music of its time in all video games.
I was just saying that most songs in the Sega Versions surpass Super Nintendo. You should try to look up Maximum Carnage for Sega and compare it with the SNES. Sega Version is way better. But its all good if you prefer the SNES over the Sega Version.
In actuality, the SNES and the Genesis versions of MC...THEY'RE THE SAME FUCKING GAME! I see absolutely NO difference with either version of the game.
SNES?? more like SHIT!! Sega ftw!!!

the one stage where the genesis gets the win, this coming from someone who only grew up with a SNES

All of the genesis versions of these songs have crazy good bass lines. Being a bass player I prefer these over the snes verisons except for stage 5

@LyfSukz I guess you don't know emulators make SNES music sound better than real hardware and Genesis music worse than real hardware.
KaskelotenZebbe 1 year ago
@KaskelotenZebbe LOL that must suck for Genesis emulators then considering that the audio hardware in the SNES is superior to begin with.
LyfSukz 1 year ago
@LyfSukz No, the Genesis sound is far better.

@KaskelotenZebbe Really? Then why is it missing notes? And not playing all the instruments at the same time?

@LyfSukz Well the Genesis can also overlap them but with the heavy bass it doesn't fit very well.

@jnieves77 Obviously sir, your taste in video game music is so appalling, any opinion you have on the matter is invalid.

@JudgeBasch
It's because by statistic quality the SNES had a better soundchip.
This is better because of the aesthetics of the Genesis' soundchip.

Much better than the Super Nintendo Version. Allot of people disagree but just compare them at the same time.

I compared them. I like the SNES version better even though it's a lot tougher. I have to admit that the Gensis has SNES in features though.
