I'm not sure, but I think only Asian's are the only ones who actually like Asian American artists. Of course there are a few non-asians who like them too, but not enough to really launch their career in a country such as the US. I heard that Coco is really popular around the world, but can barely scratch the surface of the US. It's kind of surprising how someone like Coco cannot get America's interest, but someone like William Hung exploded out of a failed American Idol audition into stardom.

While there are a lot of Asian artist that have way more talent than a large number of artist here in the U.S. , unfortunately the U.S. audience on a larger scale isn't ready for it. The only reason William Hung made it as far as he did was because he was a walking stereotype. But I Can't wait for the day that an Asian artist comes along that the U.S. can't ignore.

I can name about five Korean artist/groups that are starting to attempt to make an America debut. se7en is about to release an album, BoA jusy released hers ans has been on MTV and everything, Wonder Girls came to America for a week and did concerts and are starting to learn English, and were on MTV too. I think there will be an Asian music revolution. Not sure how old you are, but in the 1990's there was that Latino music revolution and now Spanish pop is recognized here in the USA.
