What a great man he was. I was only a small child when the Waltons was on TV.Grandpa Walton was the Grandfather example in my life because both my Grandfathers had passed long before I was born....I hope I get to see him in heaven someday. :)

He toured government work camps in the depression with Woody Guthrie, and later released an album with Guthrie on Folkways records. He also had a masters degree in botany and created a "shakespeare garden" with every plant mentioned in Shakespeare's plays at Theatricum Botanicum in Topanga Canyon in California

I remember how his death was so "unexpected"...considering it was revealed that he was bisexual, I can't help but wonder if he was an early AIDS victim? He was such a funny person and The Waltons wasn't the same without him! :'(

He Died End of Season 6 start of season 7 so sad Im only 14 and I LOVE The waltons I have them all on DVD
