Hi I am trying to get some aerial roots. I have not been able to find out how to do it properly. Can you please help. I am working on a ficus. Thank you.
Thanks charles! i love watching all of your videos and you actually inspired to me to try keeping bonsai trees. although.. my trees don't look anything like a bonsai, but i tried! lol.
also i was wondering what kind of wire you use? I went to a hardware store and bought 2mm steel wire, but it seems to be way to rigid for me to bend around branches without damaging the tree. the wire you use seem to be much thicker that what I had but also seems to bend more easily.
Personally I think if you were to remove 1/3 of the apex and use one of the existing front branches there you would make a much more powerful tree and you could produce more movement in the apex area .Fantastic nebari

Wow! that tree Ficus tree is huge! My small indoor Ficus tree is less than a foot or about so. How old is your tree?

I got it from a guy who was in his 80's, and he had grown it in a pot on his patio since the 1970's, so I am guessing it is about 35 years old.

@krnboijel I use aluminum bonsai wire. I get mine at a local bonsai nursery but you can find it on Ebay.
