Open the avi file in the free Audacity audio editing program. Doing so will open just the audio portion of the file (in mp3 format), and you can save in any audio file format.
Search google to find the free audacity program download link
How do I Pause the Video for a few seconds? I've added the Audio, but I want the Video to stop while the Audio goes on for a few seconds. Then Unpause the Video to carry on playing once the Audio reach's a certain point.
If the audio to be paused is on the second audio track, you can use the split command to split the video at the point you want to pause it. Then insert a still image for the length of the pause, and then drag the split video to start where you want it to restart.
how do you like get sound if it's like a game. like get Records sound from the game while recording the screen? cause i can only get the screens.. i want sound from the program too..
Camtasia is an awesome Desktop recorder, though I prefer Fraps to Camtasia when it comes to recording 3D FX games. Camtasia is better than Fraps in any other scenario IMHO.
If your video plays audio when in the Camtasia timeline, it should include audio when you publish the movie as .wmv format (or any of the other formats available within camtasia.
I'm sure you've heard this, but thanks!! I have camtasia studio 5 and I've been trying to get the audio track 2 just right..this vid will DEFF help me out!
Why is not everyone using this? This is a "must"! You can learn seeing the thinks happen at any time you want. I think I can imagine a FAQ-frequent asked questions- about some internet programe's functionalities based on this. It's great. 1 more comment - the use of a backgroud music is a very good idea to give the presentation more dinamic and fun perspective. I enjoyed it so much!
I use Camtasia Studio to record my computer screens. In the Camtasia Recorder, you can select 'option's, and 'pointers', and choose to use a highlight around your mouse pointer.
EXCELLENT presentation. I can't believe that I learned so much in only 4 minutes and was able to go right to Camtasia and do the same thing with no problem.
thanks for the very clear presentation! Very helpful

im trying to get sound on the computer so like if im playing a game and recording it i have the sound from the game
robinett11 2 years ago
In Camtasia Recorder, use the audio drop down and select 'options'. If the 'sound from speaker' option is available, select it.
If it is not available, your sound card isn't supported, so just turn up the speakers and record with microphone

Do you know if there is any way to add a second Video track? Like video 2? I know there is PIP, but thats not really what I need.
knaggelpuff 2 years ago
PIP is the 2nd video track. And you can use 'split' track to split the main video and audio tracks to insert other video and audio tracks

In Camtasia, select 'file', 'produce video as', and 'custom production settings'.
On the custom production settings, chose the video format you want.
See my YouTube video, 'Camtasia settings for youtube best results' for more details.

In Camtasia, select 'file', then 'import media'. Then select the audio file you wish to import.
This will put it in the camtasia media pool.
Then select 'tracks' from the Camtasia timeline, and choose 2nd audio track.
Then drag the audio clip from the camtasia media pool onto the second audio track.
Position, size and adjust volume from there.

In Camtasia recorder, choose 'effects', 'options', 'cursor', and select 'highlight cursor'.
Choose the color and opacity of the cursor highlight (circle).
To change the pointer, choose choose 'effects', 'options', 'cursor', and select 'cursor setup'.
Then select the pointer you want to use.

I'm trying to do Screen recordings.. But there's no sound..
Do I have to do this process to get the sound added?
hypermetalsonic 4 years ago
Be sure to enable your microphone in the Camtasia recorder. View the audio level while recording to make sure the microphone is set correctly.
guerillabill 4 years ago
nvm.. It seems it wasnt Cam's fault.. it was the prgrams..
But it's all working now
thnx though

i have a question. how do you get the audios from videos. for example, putting the audio audio from the simpsons and putting it in family guy videos
kenolazaro 4 years ago
You can split the audio in almost any video editing program.
I use Sony Movie Studio to edit videos, and can easily detatch or attach audio from video with just click and drag.
You can do it in Camtasia by deleting all the audio in track 1, and adding the second audio in track 2.

tnx!

r u ganna do a video for that?

BlitzkoBlitz 4 years ago
In Camtasia recorder, you can choose from a number of cursors, and cursor highlight colors and shapes.
In this video, I chose to highlight the cursor with the yellow opaque circle.
This is an option in Camtasia recorder.
