I think the difficulty of a dungeon in LoZ always boils down to two points: Forwardness and Mental Stress.

A good example of Forwardness is the Shadow temple of OoT, because you only have ONE way to go. The Water temples (all of them) are not very forward and very open, that's why they "feel" very difficult, but in reality, especially the OoT one is actually not THAT hard, it just "feels" difficult, because it isn't that forward.

It's still a shitty temple.

Your list is pretty good: I would have put most of these in my top ten, too. I don't know why, but water-themed temples always seem to be the hardest. For me personally the Great Bay Temple & Thieves Hideout combo was the most frustrating temple setup ever - so frustrating I never did it again. It just wasn't enjoyable. The Lakebed Temple was really hard because it was so easy to get lost and forget what you were doing. OOT's Water Temple was also really tough. What's with that?

Immy opinion u just listed dungeons that take a long time to complete but arent difficult the hardest dungeons are ones from the original games lon the NES and SNES i could rape OOT and wind waker easily cause u listed 4 games OOT Majoras mask TP and WW theres 10+ games with average 5-8 dungeons on them. The Water Temple is the SECOND hardest Zelda dungeon. The first one is, with a big difference, Turtle Rock from Link's Awakening (Gameboy). Seriously, if you want a f*cking hard challenge, go for it. In my opinion it's the third best Zelda game ever (along with Skyward Sword and Ocarina Of Time).

You definitely need to play the firts 2 games. The final 2 dungeons in each respectively are the most difficult ever. Palace 7 in "Adventures Of Link" is 3x harder than the lakebed in OOT

All I was saying is that I feel the original 8 bit masterpieces that built this series deserved a shout out in the top 10. Some of their dungeons were so complex and buggy (annoying) it left players scratching their heads for months (or at least until the next issue of Nintendo power came out) trying to find a way to overcome Gannon's twisted designs.

Lakebed Temple was easy for the most part...i just go lost a couple of times....but the freakin boss key I got lost gettin it in that underwater chamber, I found it by accident!!! plus the room where you dont even have to go in was annoying cuz I was in there trying to figure out what to do and I realized that all the water I need to get the boss door was there in the main room >.< had a freakin hard attack with that boss key...............then the Water temple of OoT.......not evn gonna explain

2:26 Oh yeah, I can agree with you there. Not only was the dungeon hard, but it was also confusing, and the music SCREAMED with "We put crap music in the dungeon that will frustrate you." The whole place is the kind of challenge where you go "Where the fuck do I go?" exhaust all clear places to go, and then find out there's a secret crack in the wall. The clawshot maze was annoying as well. (if you know what I'm talking about) That dungeon and the water temple from TP frustrate me
