  • on youtube there is a video called

Beautiful Curls With Socks!!! No Heat!!!!

    by ShimmerGold17

  • wow i WAS gonna try this but NEVERMIND

  • Aww! You're so cute! :L Haha I tried this and it really didn't work for me either. Haha I'm glad it's not just me :')

  • We've tried the sock bun method before here in our family. Here's some tips: First, if you want tighter curls use a thinner sock, and if you want looser curls use a thicker sock. Second, you have to get the level of dampness just right. I like the "Heat Free Dolly Curls with Socks" method better. It uses 3 socks and you don't have to cut them, and the curls are prettier. You should try that. Just search "Heat Free Dolly Curls with Socks" on YouTube and you will find it. :)

  • the line at the toe of the sock.. it's called a seam...

  • You didn't do it right. You have to wrap your hair all the way around the bun and roll it tight. Try experimenting with different sized socks. Trust me on this one. I just changed my pic to one I took after I sock bunned it. Check it out.

  • Awww Thanks So Much!

I Was Trying To Find Videos

For This Hairstyle and None Of Them

    Were Really Helpful!

But Yours Did Becouse You Went Step By Step!

    Once Again, Thanks So Much!

    P.S I'm So Subscribing! :)

  • Try spritzing more water(:

  • Maybe cause your hair isnt like super long?:(

  • Your very pretty

  • You have to damp your pony tail! you did get some curl but wet ur pony tail

  • You almost had it :). By the way was that moaning in the backround?

  • you sound so sad at the end :c

  • I'm trying this tonight lol I was watching a lot of responses while my hair was up and ready, wish me luck!!!

  • u look like tangled from the movie tangled

  • @3131chuy Do u mean Repunzle?

  • @VictoriaSnipes Do you mean Rapunzel?

  • ...I think your hair looked good like wavy..idk I really that look though hahaha

  • hahaa you looked so dissappointed when it didnt curl !

  • Its so hard!!!

  • I cant curl that

  • I yhink this would work if you used less water and curled the ponytail with a flexirod instead of a sock

  • heey! you shouldnt put more than 2 sprays in it thats what happened not the way you did your bun but when u slept on it , it was to wet and when you moved around it messed up , thats why you needa make it less wet

  • You're too blonde to make up your own method.

  • I'm going to give this a go tonight. Also...I think you could pull off a top knot really well! :) One without a sock haha.

  • Get your hair wet dummy

  • try using a smaller sock :)

  • you do need a smaller sock and some gel or moose but other than that thumbs up for trying:)

  • Thank you :) I was having trouble getting my hair to wrap around until I saw your tutorial. Go Angels!

  • I have really long thick hair and mine turned out like that the first time. Using a smaller sock and putting some glossing gel or a very small amount of moose might help. And the level of dampness might not be what your hair needs.

  • Use a smaller sock. It worked foe me with a smaller sock and if your hair doesn't curl well use a moose to dampen it.

  • I also have thin hair so i tried to use a big sock when i first tried to put it up and I couldnt fit my hair up like you so i just picked a very small sock (close to an ankle sock) and I was able to make a good bun and I'm going to sleep on it tonight. Hope it works!

  • Well, I have medium-length fine hair and I just put mine up... we'll see how this goes. Lol. I'm guessing fine hair just ain't gonna cut it. (technical terms) Thanks for the vid!

  • So, I just did my first sock bun and struggled with it because my hair is (opposite of yours) too thick. I had a hard time wrapping up the end before I could even roll it. In the original video that Loespie does, the end of her hair isn't visible when she starts to wrap it... (also note, I'm not a hair-doing kinda girl, so hair styles are difficult for me). Anyways, I used an old iPod sleeve, rather than a sock. The sock was too big for my hair. iPod sleeve worked the first try and feels secure!

  • 10:49 kinda scary

  • and anyway, it suits you. I definitely prefer curly hair to straight.

  • a bit OT but you remind me a little of Brittany from Glee... same coloring, same voice (from what I remember), slightly long face. anyway, thanks!

  • I also have thin hair, and I found that using a smaller sock, Such as a sock for like a 6 year old or something, worked well for me.

  • someone's watching porn in the background ........

  • you need to talk a little louder , and it was curls

you need to do it a little faster

  • didn't work for me either..

  • you didnt spray your hair before you put it in the bun

  • Comment removed

  • You just need to make sure while you're rolling the bun, taht you pull up to tighten it. :3 That's what I did and OMG i loved the results. I hope that helps you and anybody else that had a problem with it.

  • i think you just needed to spray less water and it would have done better!

  • you actually have lots of hair but its fine... That said you have lots of hair but its fine.....

  • IT DIDNT WORK BECAUSE YOU DIDNT WET YOUR HAIR FIRST.

  • @lolacastellano13 she actually did wet her hair

  • ur hair looked kinda stiff and damaged when it was wet

  • she`s really pretty & the sock is too big for her hair

  • ur hair wasnt wet...thats prob why

  • Nice video;D what is going on in the background:O

  • This video is good to fall asleep... 0o

  • 13 minutes?

    Really?

You could have just done it quickly lol...

  • What's the noise in the background 7:48? Ahh eww gross

  • @sachibi3 it was prob music or tv

  • @sachibi3 tht was no tv thts was something else ewwwwww? thts gross lolsz<

  • @sachibi3 sounds like her mom and dad are doing it or shes watching porn!!!!

  • @sachibi3 its tv .__.

  • Did you straighten your hair? That always jacks up the results. And add more water. It'll look better.

  • your hair wasn't damp enough

  • you should spread your hair around the bun before rolling so your hair isn't all on one side

  • @1234Torii it's way too hard to do, at least if you have layers and/or short or medium length hair. I just tried and it looked like a huge tangle.

  • That was a military bun not a sock bun. Do the research.

  • You have to make sure your hair is really clean. Since you hadn't washed your hair in a day your hair was probably a bit greasier when you woke up after doing the sock bun which can weigh it down.

Also, you need to put more of your ends into the bun at the beginning and/or spread it out a little more when you do it.

    Hopefully that'll work. :)

  • I think you could have been using more water..

  • you look like lacey stone

  • you look like lacey stone

  • your rlly pretty

  • @saxaphonegirl1998 thank you

  • you dont have to space the hair when moving the bun inwards, i didnt do that and my hairs a bit shorter than yours, i done it staight after i had a shower i brushed it and didnt put it so high. by the morning it was dry and i took it out and got her result. try again my method

  • if you use a longer sock the donut it makes is more solid and holds the hair better.

  • tooooo long and boring

  • a little aloe vera gel mixed in the water helps set the curl and only a little spray

  • @jojoolhc thanks ill have to try that!

  • what video editer do u use? like how do u edit it?

  • @ImaHorseBackRider i used imovie on a mac:)

  • You should make more hair tutorials my hair is just like yours

  • @radzeea my mac is getting fixed once i get it back i will:))

  • I think maybe you used a little too much water, your hair is like mine, quite fine and not very many layers. Try the same thing without water, just on dry hair, it should work out a lot better. It was the amount of water you sprayed on that stopped your hair curling properly :)

  • Dont have a link to something I did, but i took a shower and put mousse in it, then I braided it into like six braids on my head and put curling gel into the braids, (I used liquid curling gel), and then you twist each braid until it goes into a bun, then you put and then use an elastic band to keep the bun together, then sleep with it. In the morning it looks kind of curlyl and scrunched, really cute. I have it in right now. I loved the video, bu the way ;)

  • Thanks for uploading this, now I finally know how to roll my hair into the sock!

  • Um, nice video. But it did take 3:40 to get into it, and I didn't hear much :\

  • @xtrebleclefx im sorry it was my first video

  • You hair texture and body has a lot to do. Mine is naturally wavy and when I put it up in a bun even with no sock, it still curls. I agree with the spray gel/ mousse suggestion.

  • It didn't work for me either... My hair just looked ridiculous in the morning... Maybe it's cause I have lots of layers?

  • maybe your hair is not so....nass i dont know what nass in english named...

  • If it doesn't curl that way then, instead of damping your hair with water, use some mousse or curling cream and spray a TINY bit of water to your hair before putting the bun in your hair... with the mousse and bun method, you can leave the bun for like 4-5 hours (instead of overnight) and you'll have beautiful curls :) Good luck :)

  • @mylieblue thank you im gonnna have to try that:)
