This is actually a good argument.. But, when thinking about the answer here, I just have to realize that I don't know.. I don't know how the big bang happened, or how it's possible. The difference between believing in the big bang and believing in a god is that we have hundreds (thousands probably?) scientist, who know the answer, or at least have theories based on scientific fact. Explaining the universe is hard. I can't do it, but I'd rather put my faith in the people who can over some book...
If evolution is true. And if we evolved from something, howcome archeologists have never found the transitional stage of one thing evolving to another? I mean, there should be a fossil showing a dinousaur in the middle of evolving right? For example:
Someone explain why there are NO fossils of these transitional stages! C'mon, there should be some "proof" of these in-between creatures shouldn't there?
@GotShot22 We have found lots of fosils in transitional stages.. Even if we haven't found all (we're not even close), it's a better theory than "everything was created as-is 6000 years ago" because we know with 100% certainty that this is not the case
This is stupid. There is no proof that there is a 'law' of cause and effect. At best we have competing hypothesis/models to predict the observable universe. Secondly, even if *I* cannot explain what caused the big bang, does not mean I will accept the ludicrous proposition that *your* God caused it!
If Christianity suggests that everything has a first cause then what created God? The same arguments that can be used to disprove the existence of God can also be used as arguments against atheists.
@newexperiment You claim gods exist. Provide a shred of empirical evidence proving the existence of gods. Logic places the burden of proof upon the shoulders of those that make a claim. Logic does NOT demand that people disprove any stupid claim you make. I believe there's an invisible blue monkey that just took a weightless dump on your head. I also believe in the Tooth Fairy and Pink Unicorns. Your garbage defies the most basic principles of logic.
Well lets say that the universe heated up and compressed for thousands or millions of years to create the matter and energy for the big bang. But too bad its only a theory. People who say that last part are fucking retarded.
The universe. As we know it. The big bang theory says nothing about what has always been there. String Theory says much more about how the universe, as we know it, came to be. And what it is, has been, and will be. Not that modern string theory even needs to be right, in this case. Human's ridiculously short mortality cycle, as compared to the cosmos (as we know it), will always lead willfully ignorant people to a supernatural power. Positing a superexplanational god is not the answer.
the big bang theory is complex no normal person would get it, because being normal would mean your thick and stupid, no offence but it is true. here's an example in the UK. 100 years ago, if you were thick and stupid you would die out, simple as that. but now since the 1900's we got welfare states which helped dumb people survive and and smart people now are slowly dying off. I could go on but I wont. tbbt was made by these to waves of unknown energy that banged together and they named it.
there is a reason why its called a theory it has yet to be proven right or wrong just as you stated in your video their are many different solutions to different problems, please reconsider your ways of making our heads explode and please do not classify all atheists as one group because all of us our different.
Simple. There is no solid physical proof God exists, only circumstantial evidence. There is evidence that the universe because we are part of the universe and we can detect the presence of other matter in the universe. Your move :)
@Preserbius There is solid proof of God's existence, it's called the universe. Just because you never met Bill Gates does not mean he does not exist but you accept his existence because you use his computers. What about Gangues Kahn? There is no proof he existed except with circumstantial evidence yet you believe he existed. Why is it so hard to believe in the possibility of an all powerful creator but easy to believe in a mad man who tried to take over the world hundreds of years ago?
@BondFreek I don't see "GOD" branded onto our buttocks so how would you know it wasn't Chuck Norris who created the universe? Atheism has a fault in that if there is no god, we would just be an accident the universe had when it forgot to put on a Milky Way condom. However all major religions are hoopla in that they have no proof of god's existence or what god wants us to do.
@shimushi64 1x10^100000000000 galaxies, that means the chances we exist here really are better than first thought." That makes no sense at all when you consider how complex all the galaxies really are. Also nobody has counted the Galaxies. There might be just the 1000 we see through Hubble or there might be the 1x10^100000000000 that you believe in. The last number I read for the odds of our existence out numbered the # of stars in the universe 10-1. With odds like that we should not exist.
@BondFreek It is almost certain that life exists somewhere else in this galaxy, and pretty much assured that life exists somewhere else in the universe.
Earth is not particularly special. The elements required to form life are found elsewhere in this solar system (our sun is Sol, hence SOLar system). In fact, the elements required are extremely abundant throughout the universe.
@BondFreek Though I have never seen neithor Bill Gates or Genghis Khan in person, Others have. Even according to the Bible no one saw god create the universe because who would have been around to see it? Humans are hard wired to try and know as much as possible, so when something comes along that is beyond our capacity of knowing, we create alternate explanations.
Im an atheist. This video is completely stereotypical. You CAN NOT prove that God created the matter and particles in the big bang theory or us. Sure i may not be able to prove that God deosnt exist but its more believable than saying he just does; and following the beliefs of a BOOK. Which was written by man anyway. Plus there is the fact of how religion was created by governments to control the people. That is no longer the case but once a fire is put out is there still debris? EXACTLY
@XxTHRASHxXxMETALxX Why is it more believable that a complex organized universe pop into existence out of nothing by accident then to believe that some one designed it? When you use logic it makes more sense that someone made everything. Only people who believe in fairy tales believes in something coming from nothing. Houses, cloths, computers and everything that is complex in society did not just magically appear, people made all of it. Just like God made us.
@XxTHRASHxXxMETALxX 1 more thing. Religion was not made to control people. The Native Americans did not make gods to control people but to understand how their world works. Faith in a god has been around before the written word, & before people learned to govern each other. It is in every kind of community all over the world. The need for a power greater than man is embodied in all of us. It's part of our core-design. Take it away & we lose who we are.
@BondFreek you started off good. yes, humans have believed in deities for thousands of years. and you were right when gods were made to help explain how the world works. Faith in higher power isn't integral in us as animals, otherwise you'd see it in more than just human beings. it's a taught or 'learned' behavior, not innate. I was born and raised christian, but when I realized that it's a bunch of bull, I got rid of all my faith. I'm still a whole person, and not lost in any way
@shimushi64 You where close with "Faith in higher power isn't integral in us as animals" According to scripture we were never EVER animals. We are created in God's image and when he did this he gave us more complex emotions, the ability to solve complex problems & the ability to understand fear and punishment. You hit a child for doing something wrong 9x out of 10 he/she stops doing wrong. Hit an animal they never stop doing the wrong deed, but they do look at you with confusion…
@BondFreek "Hit an animal they never stop doing the wrong deed, but they do look at you with confusion…" Have you never heard of training dogs? Many many different animals can be trained using either negative or positive reinforcement.
@shimushi64 Many people who were lost in the forest wrote in their journal how they knew exactly where they were even though they did not have a compass. They did this just before they died. They thought they could get out by following moss on the trees. The problem is that despite the myth moss does not exclusively grow on the north end of trees. God is the compass & science is moss. You chose the moss & even though you think you're OK you are lost in the forest of life.
i'm a pretty strong christian, but this video is stupid. just because one doesn't believe in God doesn't automatically make them a douchebag. there are a ton of atheists that are better people than proclaimed christians
Two theories I am familiar with negate this theory.
1) Quantam mechanical creation theory. Although it would be hard to explain in detail, particles can cause loops in subatomic particles which can theoretically cause evens by their own effects, by having the effect on something occur before the precedent.
2) Previous universe. The Big Bang may be the end of a previous universe, which began in a way unknowable or yet to be discovered by us. Also, our laws of physics most likely did not apply.
Who has published those theories? I know statements of Hawkings which clearly state that a previous universe is off the table. That would btw be no really answer about the beginning, because the same questions just go to this universe.
its kinda hilarious that they make the atheist such a dick. there are alot of christian assholes out there. and there are plenty of nice atheists. it doesnt go by ur beliefs, ur gonna find dicks everywhere u go
There are an infinite amount of ways the universe could have been created, its just that out of all those possibilities, some of which have viable observed evidence backing them, an all powerful being is very unlikely. and it is even more unlikely that he/she/it would ever be concerned about us. just like being worried about my shoelace improbably turning into a snake, the existence of god is not worth getting concerned about
@TehFailzilla There are two possibilities God exists, God does not exist. If you follow the first possibility and it turns out that God does not exist the worst thing that could happen is you leave this world with a lot of loving friends. If you follow the second possibility and God does exist you could burn in hell forever! So which faith is safer? I for one don't take any chances. I believe in God and follow all of his commandments even the ones not enforced by law.
@BondFreek so you believe in god because you're afraid to burn in hell?
lets follow this logically...
once you die, you're dead. that means even if you have a spirit or something that goes to hell, it can't feel pain, or think. yes, both of these things literally NEED a body to happen. so you'd float eternally in a fire you can't see/feel/taste/hear/smell, or even think about. so it's the same thing either way.
Stop being afraid of intelligence and don't follow the sham because you're scared
@shimushi64 I got news for you. Everyone who ever had died & came back ("near death") said that as their spirit all of their senses were increased. Colors, sounds, smells & touch was enhanced to the 10th degree. So you see just because you no longer have a physical body does not mean that you lose your senses. As pure energy you can feel everything. The only thing you lose is the need for sleep, food and sex. Fear of punishment is not only logical but imbedded in every DNA in every animal.
@BondFreek That is a fair point, and will not attack you for that but i do have a question. Do you feel that god will accept you into heaven when your belief in him is due solely because you figure its a safer bet? I understand that depending on your denomination there are ways to increase your chances if not ensure salvation i.e. baptism, circumcision; but i think that if a greater power did exist, he would not judge you worthy just because you cling to him out of fear of punishment.
I just would like to point out that there is no plausible way for the universe to come from nothing. And by that, I also mean that no historical force (god) could have possibly created the universe. Without the matter that created the universe, the universe could have never existed at all. There's no possible way to measure what came before the first matter, as there was no time for something to have created it. Therefore, God, no matter how omnipotent, couldn't have created the universe.
*ahem* first i would like to comment on the stereotypical rude moronic sounding athiest and the creationist sounding polite and like the voice of reason. Such a typical way to start out a video such as this. Secondly i would like to say that atheism is merely the lack of belief in a god NOT the belief in the big bang theory or evolution. atheism = belief evolution = theroy/explanation. lastly, if god were real why would everything be so scientificly complex eg: cells, atoms, protons & electrons?
God also defies the law of cause and effect. Where did he come from? Maybe he created the heavens and the earth, but how was he made? No he was never always there. That would break the law of cause and effect. So would saying that he created himself.
@picklesandgravy1 That's what I've been thinking for ages. I want to tell a creationist "If there has to be a creator of the universe, then where's the creator of the creator? And if there isn't, doesn't that allow you to assume that God doesn't have to exist by logic?"
If they say the universe doesn't have intelligence to create itself...
"Uuh, it was never 'created'. It has been around forever."
Unfortunately for this video and its supporters, you simply don't have the education necessary to realize you are wrong. If you understand quantum physics you would realize something can, in fact, be created from nothing as long as gravity is present.
What a moronic video. First of: Science does not have all the answers.. yet, but the method for obtaining proof is one that has worked for a few 100 years. Technological advancements is one proof of my statement. Second: The burden of proof is on the person making the claim.
Actual those were good points. XD Really enjoyed this video, oh and to everyone who questions where God came from...well at least our laws don't really contradict our beliefs. God made everything and has always just been there. -shrugs- Say what you want and believe what you want but you have to admit this kinda puts a hole in your logic atheists. If you want to whine and cry that's your business either take the lesson or leave it. Do try to be good sports about it though. =w=
@MrSoraMajiggers First of: Science does not have all the answers.. yet, but the method for obtaining proof is one that has worked for a few 100 years. Technological advancements is one proof of my statement. Second: The burden of proof is on the person making the claim.
@wanabeknut You are indeed right on this one. And you don't need to tell me this, I'm a college student studying the sciences, biology major with premedical studies, and I am no stranger to scientific studies. However, you can argue that there is no evidence supporting the claim of atheists in this case. Therefore you can also argue their claim is very much the same as creationists, in which there is a God. So until proof is obtained, I guess we're all in the same boat.
@MrSoraMajiggers Ah! But you are wrong. The scientific position when it comes to the question "What caused the big bang?" is a unknown. A unknown. Spell it. Theoretical physicists might have theories, but nothing more than than. Nothing that can be proven with the technology we have today. That is a reason why the scientific position is "Its a unknown". As atheists we follow the facts proven by the scientific method, we make no claims outside of that. Only theories. Are we agreed?
@wanabeknut We are agreed. They are in fact only theories. But if you think about it, I still have the same argument. Atheists have theories, some that cannot in fact be proven at this current point in time. And this is acceptable, but I believe it works both ways. Atheists can't really say anything against creationists, because although they can not prove their claims, there is nothing to prove that it isn't true. To me it just seems like there is a stand off of sorts.
@MrSoraMajiggers There is a big difference between making the claim that a god exsists based on the exsistense of the bible. Christian acutally state with certainty the exsistence of a god. True scientific theroies build on proven facts. Meaning they are predictions based on scientific evidence. Is this arrogant? A theory is only a theory, it can in the future be proven or disproven. Right now it is a unknown. If you are a student of science I urge you to work with a subjective perspective.
Even though I am a believer, so to speak, how exactly do those arguments explain God having a bastard son Jesus or send his prophet Muhammed? or virtually thousands of different versions?
there is a huge gap from a good discussion about the come-into-being-process of the universe to santa claus and the easter bunny. and that is what so many people today are pissed off about.
not believing in jesus automatically makes you an atheist.
Well we don't have the technology for that yet. One reason was when religon ruled the world , it was called THE DARK AGES you idiot, If the ''dark ages'' didn't occur , then we might have known the answer and mabye cured aids and cancer 100 years ago...You religion is causing nothing but trouble in this world....So now, shut the fuck up and read your shitstained book you call the bible.
@wowliraren12345 The dark ages does not refer to the rule of theocracies. The dark ages was the fall of the roman empire and thus all establishments of knowledge. The churches of Ireland actually stored all this information that was lost because of barbarians sacking Rome, and thus saved western civilization and education and knowledge. Technically if religion never happened, we would probably never know what caused aids.
Atheists don't need to answer that question. Why on earth do we need to answer the question of how did the universe start? Through reason and inference we can have a good guess but ultimately we don't know.
This video uses word play to disguise poor logic. The fact that I DON'T know something doesn't prove that you DO know something
reversed argueing its smartly done but it makes no sense at all you obvious are very illinformed on quantum mechanics but if at cern they will eventually proff that something can come from nothing you can always blame the devil for misguiding humanity away from god bla bla bla....
~the trilogy~ Which is why science does not test for it. But congrats, you found a ill educated atheist. Just glad it wasn't me. Dug me into you dirt with that logic.
This is a common and necessarily law of natural. If the universe is apart of natural(which it is, btw) this law applies as well.( Didn't you read that somewhere?) Just a thoery, cause I's not the brainy type & I's nows nuffing!! but I have others as well.(psssss.... but I applied testable logic. Without those smart atheists. Damn you, smart atheists!!) One more thing: God is an untestable variable
Funny thing is, the argument got reversed. It's the christian guy who says that god created everything, and then carl sagan comes along and says "well if god can exist eternally, why can't the universe do that? Why not save a step and say that the universe came from nothing". This is a clear application of occam's razor, and means that a universe with god is much more probable than one with a god, even without considering other contradictions for the existence of god
Quantum mechanics, with which every human being should be acquainted with, clearly states that something comes from nothing all the time. These fluctuations are what caused the big bang, and the creation of matter from nothing, according to leading cosmologist (mr krauss) who wrote the book a universe from nothing. In that same book, he states that not only matter, but space, time, and the laws themselves can be produced from nothing
Well I'm not a brainy type but.... if plants grow, (stay with me) animals eat the grass,( oh we're getting somewhere!!) people & other animals eat those animals,(Shit! It's gettin' HOT!) and when they die, are consumed by the plants!!(ALMOST THERE!!!!) This cycle continues and has continued since bacteria and it applies to EVERYTHING!!! Energy and such morphed anew.
@Vesuvius2190 energy enters the biosphere by a few means, but the main one is photosynthesis or "carbon fixing". Plants take carbon from the atmosphere and use the suns energy to attach other atoms to it. The bonds between the atoms are stable, but stressed, because of like-like charges on the atoms being too near each other. Breaking the bonds will release the energy.
Don't forget you use energy to move around, you're losing heat constantly and making more, thats energy lsot from the biosphere.
Unfortunate. Everyone has free choice, wether or not they get to exercise that may be a different matter. Anyway, stinks when the free choice is used to portray others in a negative light because they think differently on either side of an argument. What's that statement about why can't we all get along...
The average IQ amongst atheists are 10 points higher than amongst religous pple. Just saying...
Oh, and btw, where do you think God came from then? Did he just pop into existence, or has he always existed? Then why can't the universe do so as well?
I would happily accept the idea of god if it was demonstrable, as for how the universe came to be I have no idea but I'm not going to jump to the idea of a god simply because I don't know the answer.
Until there is any proof of anything in the bible being true you will continue to look like a moron in a cult. These people have short memories dont they? Listen, the ball has been in your court for a long time, there is still 0% proof for anything you believe in, and the ball will remain there until you get some. Until that day nothing you say is even worth it, does it make you sad that there is just as much proof of Spider man, or Unicorns? Stop wasting your time, religions are man made.
Simply because you have an answer to a question does not mean it is the correct answer. While you have one question that defies the system utilized by atheism--a system that is quite fluid--there exists a multitude of questions which which can be asked of any religious form and illicit only one response: faith. Faith being the admittance of ignorance. How we may answer one question, you may answer all of them. There can be no dialogue here. We operate in different worlds.
I love how people who have no idea, not the slightest clue, about the big bang theory try to riddicule it. Just because you read an article on wikipedia you think you can say something about one of the most complicated topics known to men??
I Don't agree that something cannot come from nothing so what follows from there is irrelevant. We have no example of 'nothing' to compare so we don't know if something can come from nothing or not - it hasn't been proven either way.
The eternally oscillating universe can't be proven without a doubt, but there are many signs that point to it being a good theory of the life cycle of existence. For example - the fact that our universe is currently expanding, yet is also slowing down. That means that things are not moving away from each other as quickly as they used to. This points to there being a turning point, where the universe starts imploding on itself - thus creating a new big bang.
@VivTingg Well its easy. In arab, Dzat means energy. And there are verses stating ' with the Dzat of Allah'. So this shows that energy that existed and is responsible for almost all the physics laws and other scientific laws, this shows that Allah is responsible for it. Furthermore, energy cannot be created nor destroyed, and since Allah have the Dzat to control things, this also prove that Allah is not created nor destroyed.
@olmecbones I know , Im bath in energy. But still can you see it change? Can you make it?? Btw I know chlorophyll is a chemical energy and it is for providing energy for the plant. And also, if we cannot see our food, how are we suppose to consume it? But Im not refering to the item, im referring to the energy it will provide to us. Can we see, touch it firmly ? We can feel it but not touch it. Same thing to your emotions,u cant see, touch it but u can feel it.
The cause and effect thing doesn't prove anything, if it did, it would cause an infinite amount things creating themselves, and due to how some people think the Universe started, it would trigger the Droste Effect, a.k.a: Things inside of themsleves...
@boriwepaa Nope you are wrong. Its different versions. Check out the stories in the bible. There are alot of contradictions. Im not saying the bible is fake but its corrupted, changed by man. Well you are wrong aagain. The bible was in hebrew but it does not mean that it was only for people who read hebrew right? Same thing for the Quran. Its in arabic and its for everyone. There are diff translations of the Quran . Well I dun think we shd start a debate here. I dont wish to insult your religion
and if a Theist says "god always existed' he #1..contradicts the cause and effect law, and #2, the atheist can simply say "the cosmos always existed, no godmyths needed". end of story.Theism is SO EASY TO BLAST hahahaha wheeeeee
this has to be satire as well. what kind of knucklehead would use the easily exposed 'cause and effect' analogy to an atheist to prove 'god(s)' exist outside the human mind?? gee, the theist HAS to imply that 'something HAD to cause 'god' to exist' and that something that caused god(s) to exist, ALSO had something to cause IT to exist, etc,., so what do we have now? an eternal line of cause and effect godmyths??? NO! we have OBJECTIVE EVIDENCE OF THE COSMOS EXISTING AND NO EVIDENCE OF GOD!!!!!!!
@newexperiment God would actually still be impossible for to be a knowledgeable being, he would have to have came from something, meaning that things came before him, meaning that it has created nothing.
@newexperiment Actually quantum physics explains how matter can come from nothing. Because nothing is actually quite filled with substance. Tiny subquantum particles, popping in and out of existence. There we go. Learn yourself some science fool.
The big bang was not an explosion nor did any of the law of physics exist prior to it. Your arguement in null and lacks any sort of valid points and is nothing more then the typical anti-Atheist nonsense. Quantum physics has shown that something can come rom nothing. Prior to the "expansion' of the universe from the big bang the laws of physics did not exist. This expansion happened and with it weak & strong nuclear force, gravity, and ele, you know what I am wasting my time even trying here....
I don't know about you, but my religious beliefs (or lack there of) do not define my entire being. Yes, you portray the atheist in this video as an arse; that does not reflect on the character of all atheists nor is it relevant, it simply serves to help you make us look bad.
Whether a God exists or he doesn't, it does not matter. We can only tell ourselves what is real by telling ourselves what is not. Atheists generally say this world and universe is real because they have arguments that God is not. Theists in turn generally say this universe is not real because they have arguments that a God is real. Real is defined by unreal, the same way that black is defined by white. Matter by space.
Because an unsolved issue exists in science does not automatically make it evidence of a supernatural explanation. I saw this written some time ago, and I'll paraphrase it hear..."If an unsolved crime remains unsolved, does that mean a ghost did it?"
rude title aside, I'd like to ask a questions: if the universe exists and you can see it and claim it exists, why then would you then feel the need to believe in it?
A nucleur bomb, when detonated, completely destroys matter around it. If matter can be destroyed and replicated. I'm pretty sure it can be created. However the God that existed from nothing out of nothing to exist forever to create a world out of nothing with nothing but his eternal nothingness apparently makes more sense.
@brett6666 no it doesnt. the atoms split forming several lighter elements and energy... but the matter still exists. its just changed... matter and energy are two forms of the same thing, thats the basis of E=mc2. that and that time is relative. god is eternal... always been there. time is non-existant outside of the universe. the universe was engineered.. cant you tell by the complexity? try this... Wait for a car to form itself in your garage. giv it all the time you want. an thats jus a car
@mropinionful You are correct, however you had one part wrong. While a lot of the matter exists, the other matter is converted into energy. Being converted to energy=destroyed. The universe was engineered...sure. You mean since It is so complex, there HAS to be a creator? Oh, another perfect example of matter being destroyed. A black hole! By the way, I think you should look up George Carlin- the ten commandments and religion is bullshit; All my views=those videos. :)
@brett6666 its not destroyed... its converted into energy.. if it was destroyed there would be no energy. matter in a black hole isnt destroyed-its realised slowly... hawking radiation.
How about i grant you this idea: God created the universe and the base materials in it. Didn't form anything, didn't give life to anything, he just provided the matter and energy that would be necessary for the big bang etc. After doing so he simply didn't give a shit anymore and has since gone on to other things, never interfering with the course of the universe or the things and people in it.
I can believe in something that set everything in motion, but that could go by literally any name.
Honestly im a believer 2 but Not a strict christian. But videos like this just make religons look stupid because u clearly have no education in science and millions of intelligent people could scientifically answer ur questions with ease. Just because the universe was not literally created in 7 days doesnt mean there is no god. I believe in science, but also in God. they dont Contradict like some ppl think.
Religious people always portray atheists as grumpy assholes, and atheists always portray religious people as dumbasses. Truth is, religious people devote themselves more around the morals of religion, while atheists focus on science. This video totally ignores the "Intelligent" side of atheists, while still managing to give the atheist a Darwinism shirt. Hmph, the creator of this video is a dumbass.
Why do creationists always bring up the 'Where did the Big Bang come from' argument? 100 years ago we had no clue of a Big Bang. We have learned alot since then. We move forward and try to learn while you do your best to stop us. Why? Because we will eventually find the answers that you fear are coming. What came before the big bang? We don't know YET but I'm sure creationists will glom onto our new knowledge and twist it into their beliefs... as usual. You are an embarrasment to our species.
@60tesamuels I'm not an atheist. Making assumptions based on nothing is moronic. Secondly, what is wrong with a bit of unbiased information? Why are you upset that I disputed the validity of this video? That is sad. Again, grow up.
@okalov Dang I...I guess I'll just...stop commenting on anything ever and actually grow up now. In fact as soon as the owner of the vid sees your comment I bet they'll take it down for learning the error of their ways. Keep up the good fight.
This isn't how atheists think at all... And I have the answer to that question. The Big Bang was caused by antimatter. Since antimatter cannot come in contact with mater, especially itself, it will cause an implosion or sorts and, in a sense, erase the combination. a.k.a create matter. SO what happened was all that was there, for a split second, antimatter existed. It came in contact with itself, imploded and caused an internal explosion, giving the universe starting matter. -atheist.
@1heluvabutler Hmm thats really interesting. The Big Bang theory has always been something I have wanted to read about. Now I think I once heard or read that it is possible that It was caused by the self-destruction of another galaxy a million light years away. The explosion of that galaxy created a wormhole or blackhole, sucking everything up. So is that where anti-matter could have possibly come from?
The supernatural and the fear that we get, the chills that we get were proven to be pipes. The sound a pipe sometimes makes can let our body know that "WOAH CHILLS!" Or just fear itself. May seem stupid....but it's a scientific fact.
well, i have more for you. something can come from nothing. also, the big bang theory has not been totally verified. singularities have not been proven. nobody said that the universe is a constant. fucker. einstein corrected himself on that one. the universe "can" create itself, which doesnt mean it did. NOWHERE in your argument did you make any reason to believe god is scientifically possible. WHAT CREATED THE GOD? IS THAT GONNA MAKE YOUR HEAD EXPLODE? HUH FUCKER? listen, learn what logic is...
in short, you are an asshole, and an ignorant moron. honestly. you just disproved your own bullshit argument. wtf is wrong with you? nobody ever said that cause and effect was a law. it was assumed before quantum mechanics that Causality was a fundamental part of the universe. this idea has since been overthrown. quantum mechanics says that probability and randomness govern the quantum realm. untill we discover otherwise, nobody is saying cause and effect is a law that has to apply. u just wrong
@Abovenine Hate to go against you but the law of conservation of mass is broken by einstiens theory of relativity that states energy and mass are interchangeable values whereby mass can become energy and energy mass, this also proves how matter can come from seeming nothingness.
if this guy was so smart why did he not use his time to give proof of god. who suggested life came from nothing, just got it your dumbass argument revolves around something came from nothing, how lame.
Stupid, juvenile, and wrong on so many levels. By the way, who created god? And which god are they referring to, anyway? There have been hundreds if not thousands throughout human history.
This is what gets me, we all go to science class, learn what atheists believe. Right? Well not EVERYONE goes to a catholic school, or some other religious school, right? So basically, atheists can't judge a religion if they really haven't learned about it (getting info from the media doesn't count). So we all know what atheists believed, we were taught it too. But atheists didn't learn about religions from a priest, Rabbi, etc. Can't judge something if you haven't heard both sides of the story.
@commandergree1231 so you're saying that to have a valid opinion on religion, you have to be taught about the religion by an authoritative figure from that religion. So based on that, what is your opinion on Buddhism, Islam, Judaism or Hinduism?

For example:
ocean dwelling creature - dinosaur - ((DINO WITH WINGS/FEATHERS)) - Bird.
Someone explain why there are NO fossils of these transitional stages! C'mon, there should be some "proof" of these in-between creatures shouldn't there?
GotShot22 12 minutes ago
@GotShot22 We have found lots of fosils in transitional stages.. Even if we haven't found all (we're not even close), it's a better theory than "everything was created as-is 6000 years ago" because we know with 100% certainty that this is not the case

Logic demands the burden of proof rests upon the shoulders of the person(s) that make a claim.
For example, if I say gods exist, then logically? i am responsible for proving my claim.
Another example, If I say an invisible blue monkey is above your head, AGAIN, I (NOT YOU) am responsible for proving my claim.
THE BURDEN OF PROOF OF ANY STUPID CLAIM SOMEONE MAKES, DOES
NOT REST UPON ANYONE ELSE'S SHOULDERS
YOU MADE AN ARGUMENT BASED ON THE CLAIM THAT GODS EXIST,

However all major religions are hoopla in that they have no proof of god's existence or what god wants us to do.
I believe there is a god.
I think all religions we have are hoopla.

@qenego34 quick question...
if there is only a 1 in 1x10^10000000 chance that we exist (I know it's extremely small)
but there are 1x10^100000000000 galaxys, that means the chances we exist here really are better then first thought.
shimushi64 7 hours ago
@shimushi64 1x10^100000000000 galaxies, that means the chances we exist here really are better than first thought." That makes no sense at all when you consider how complex all the galaxies really are. Also nobody has counted the Galaxies. There might be just the 1000 we see through Hubble or there might be the 1x10^100000000000 that you believe in. The last number I read for the odds of our existence out numbered the # of stars in the universe 10-1. With odds like that we should not exist.
BondFreek 4 hours ago
@BondFreek It is almost certain that life exists somewhere else in this galaxy, and pretty much assured that life exists somewhere else in the universe.
Earth is not particularly special. The elements required to form life are found elsewhere in this solar system (our sun is Sol, hence SOLar system). In fact, the elements required are extremely abundant throughout the universe.
KingLeonidaz 3 hours ago
@BondFreek Though I have never seen neithor Bill Gates or Genghis Khan in person, Others have. Even according to the Bible no one saw god create the universe because who would have been around to see it? Im an atheist. This video is completely stereotypical. You CAN NOT prove that God created the matter and particles in the big bang theory or us. Sure i may not be able to prove that God deosnt exist but its more believable than saying he just does; and following the beliefs of a BOOK. Which was written by man anyway. Plus there is the fact of how religion was created by governments to control the people. That is no longer the case but once a fire is put out is there still debris? EXACTLY
XxTHRASHxXxMETALxX 11 hours ago
@XxTHRASHxXxMETALxX Why is it more believable that a complex organized universe pop into existence out of nothing by accident then to believe that some one designed it? When you use logic it makes more sense that someone made everything. Only people who believe in fairy tales believes in something coming from nothing. Houses, cloths, computers and everything that is complex in society did not just magically appear, people made all of it. Just like God made us.
BondFreek 9 hours ago in playlist Liked videos
@XxTHRASHxXxMETALxX 1 more thing. Religion was not made to control people. The Native Americans did not make gods to control people but to understand how their world works. Faith in a god has been around before the written word, & before people learned to govern each other. It is in every kind of community all over the world. The need for a power greater than man is embodied in all of us. It's part of our core-design. Take it away & we lose who we are.
BondFreek 9 hours ago in playlist Liked videos
@BondFreek you started off good. yes, humans have believed in deities for thousands of years. and you were right when gods were made to help explain how the world works. Faith in higher power isn't integral in us as animals, otherwise you'd see it in more than just human beings. it's a taught or 'learned' behavior, not innate. I was born and raised christian, but when I realized that it's a bunch of bull, I got rid of all my faith. I'm still a whole person, and not lost in any way
shimushi64 7 hours ago
@shimushi64 You where close with "Faith in higher power isn't integral in us as animals" According to scripture we were never EVER animals. We are created in God's image and when he did this he gave us more complex emotions, the ability to solve complex problems & the ability to understand fear and punishment. You hit a child for doing something wrong 9x out of 10 he/she stops doing wrong. Hit an animal they never stop doing the wrong deed, but they do look at you with confusion…

ProbeBalboa 12 hours ago
@ProbeBalboa
Who has published those theories? I know statements of Hawkings which clearly state that a previous universe is off the table. That would btw be no really answer about the beginning, because the same questions just go to this universe.

There are an infinite amount of ways the universe could have been created, its just that out of all those possibilities, some of which have viable observed evidence backing them, an all powerful being is very unlikely. and it is even more unlikely that he/she/it would ever be concerned about us. just like being worried about my shoelace improbably turning into a snake, the existence of god is not worth getting concerned about
TehFailzilla 12 hours ago
@TehFailzilla There are two possibilities God exists, God does not exist. If you follow the first possibility and it turns out that God does not exist the worst thing that could happen is you leave this world with a lot of loving friends. If you follow the second possibility and God does exist you could burn in hell forever! So which faith is safer? I for one don't take any chances. I believe in God and follow all of his commandments even the ones not enforced by law.
BondFreek 8 hours ago
@BondFreek so you believe in god because you're afraid to burn in hell?
lets follow this logically...
once you die, you're dead. that means even if you have a spirit or something that goes to hell, it can't feel pain, or think. yes, both of these things literally NEED a body to happen. so you'd float eternally in a fire you can't see/feel/taste/hear/smell, or even think about. so it's the same thing either way.
Stop being afraid of intelligence and don't follow the sham because you're scared
shimushi64 7 hours ago
@shimushi64 I got news for you. Everyone who ever had died & came back ("near death") said that as their spirit all of their senses were increased. Colors, sounds, smells & touch was enhanced to the 10th degree. So you see just because you no longer have a physical body does not mean that you lose your senses. As pure energy you can feel everything. The only thing you lose is the need for sleep, food and sex. Fear of punishment is not only logical but imbedded in every DNA in every animal.
BondFreek 4 hours ago

FlyingCows88 13 hours ago
God also defies the law of cause and effect. Where did he come from? Maybe he created the heavens and the earth, but how was he made? No he was never always there. That would break the law of cause and effect. So would saying that he created himself.

@picklesandgravy1 That's what I've been thinking for ages. I want to tell a creationist "If there has to be a creator of the universe, then where's the creator of the creator? And if there isn't, doesn't that allow you to assume that God doesn't have to exist by logic?"
If they say the universe doesn't have intelligence to create itself...

wanabeknut 14 hours ago
@wanabeknut You are indeed right on this one. And you don't need to tell me this, I'm a college student studying the sciences, biology major with premedical studies, and I am no stranger to scientific studies. However, you can argue that there is no evidence supporting the claim of atheists in this case. Therefore you can also argue their claim is very much the same as creationists, in which there is a God. So until proof is obtained, I guess we're all in the same boat.
MrSoraMajiggers 14 hours ago
@MrSoraMajiggers Ah! But you are wrong. The scientific position when it comes to the question "What caused the big bang?" is a unknown. A unknown. Spell it. Theoretical physicists might have theories, but nothing more than than. Nothing that can be proven with the technology we have today. That is a reason why the scientific position is "Its a unknown". As atheists we follow the facts proven by the scientific method, we make no claims outside of that. Only theories. Are we agreed?
wanabeknut 14 hours ago
@wanabeknut We are agreed. They are in fact only theories. But if you think about it, I still have the same argument. Atheists have theories, some that cannot in fact be proven at this current point in time. And this is acceptable, but I believe it works both ways. Atheists can't really say anything against creationists, because although they can not prove their claims, there is nothing to prove that it isn't true. To me it just seems like there is a stand off of sorts.
MrSoraMajiggers 14 hours ago
@MrSoraMajiggers There is a big difference between making the claim that a god exsists based on the exsistense of the bible. Christian acutally state with certainty the exsistence of a god. True scientific theroies build on proven facts. Meaning they are predictions based on scientific evidence. Is this arrogant? A theory is only a theory, it can in the future be proven or disproven. Right now it is a unknown. If you are a student of science I urge you to work with a subjective perspective.
wanabeknut 1 hour ago
Even though I am a believer, so to speak, how exactly do those arguments explain God having a bastard son Jesus or send his prophet Muhammed? or virtually thousands of different versions?

@wowliraren12345 The dark ages does not refer to the rule of theocracies. The dark ages was the fall of the roman empire and thus all establishments of knowledge. The churches of Ireland actually stored all this information that was lost because of barbarians sacking Rome, and thus saved western civilization and education and knowledge. Technically if religion never happened, we would probably never know what caused aids.

ok. Supernatural = outside of nature, then it cannot affect anything in nature. If it can it can be observed & tested.
Laws of cause & effect break down at the quantum level- it's one of the reasons we don't have a deterministic universe.

Atheists don't need to answer that question. Why on earth do we need to answer the question of how did the universe start? Through reason and inference we can have a good guess but ultimately we don't know.

Energy and such morphed anew.
Vesuvius2190 20 hours ago
@Vesuvius2190 energy enters the biosphere by a few means, but the main one is photosynthesis or "carbon fixing". Plants take carbon from the atmosphere and use the suns energy to attach other atoms to it. The bonds between the atoms are stable, but stressed, because of like-like charges on the atoms being too near each other. Breaking the bonds will release the energy.
Don't forget you use energy to move around, you're losing heat constantly and making more, thats energy lsot from the biosphere.

Just because you read an article on wikipedia you think you can say something about one of the most complicated topics known to men??
please.....

I Don't agree that something cannot come from nothing so what follows from there is irrelevant. We have no example of 'nothing' to compare so we don't know if something can come from nothing or not - it hasn't been proven either way.
georgehowarth 1 day ago
The eternally oscillating universe can't be proven without a doubt, but there are many signs that point to it being a good theory of the life cycle of existence. For example - the fact that our universe is currently expanding, yet is also slowing down. That means that things are not moving away from each other as quickly as they used to. This points to there being a turning point, where the universe starts imploding on itself - thus creating a new big bang.
- Atheist with intact head
TauraCasanova 1 day ago
The most basic answer from an atheist would actually be: "I have no idea how the universe started because it isn't proven to us yet."
But christians keep bitching about answers and explanations for everything.
A christian could never outsmart an atheist so stop trying so bad.

@skulllegend96 But there are better ans than this but this is the best I can give you because my knowledge is limited.
skulllegend96 1 day ago

So God is sitting in the empty universe, before everythings was there.
He wants to create a new planet.

and if a Theist says "god always existed' he #1..contradicts the cause and effect law, and #2, the atheist can simply say "the cosmos always existed, no godmyths needed". end of story.Theism is SO EASY TO BLAST hahahaha wheeeeee
AntiFeminaziMale 1 day ago
this has to be satire as well. what kind of knucklehead would use the easily exposed 'cause and effect' analogy to an atheist to prove 'god(s)' exist outside the human mind?? gee, the theist HAS to imply that 'something HAD to cause 'god' to exist' and that something that caused god(s) to exist, ALSO had something to cause IT to exist, etc,., so what do we have now? an eternal line of cause and effect godmyths??? NO! we have OBJECTIVE EVIDENCE OF THE COSMOS EXISTING AND NO EVIDENCE OF GOD!!!!!!!

Yes, you portray the atheist in this video as an arse; that does not reflect on the character of all atheists nor is it relevant, it simply serves to help you make us look bad.
babbottv 1 day ago

However the God that existed from nothing out of nothing to exist forever to create a world out of nothing with nothing but his eternal nothingness apparently makes more sense.
brett6666 1 day ago
@brett6666 no it doesnt. the atoms split forming several lighter elements and energy... but the matter still exists. its just changed... matter and energy are two forms of the same thing, thats the basis of E=mc2. that and that time is relative. god is eternal... always been there. time is non-existant outside of the universe. the universe was engineered.. cant you tell by the complexity? try this... Wait for a car to form itself in your garage. giv it all the time you want. an thats jus a car
mropinionful 1 day ago
@mropinionful You are correct, however you had one part wrong. While a lot of the matter exists, the other matter is converted into energy. Being converted to energy=destroyed. The universe was engineered...sure. You mean since It is so complex, there HAS to be a creator? Oh, another perfect example of matter being destroyed. A black hole! By the way, I think you should look up George Carlin- the ten commandments and religion is bullshit; All my views=those videos. :)
brett6666 1 day ago
@brett6666 its not destroyed... its converted into energy.. if it was destroyed there would be no energy. matter in a black hole isnt destroyed-its realised slowly... hawking radiation.
mropinionful 15 hours ago
How about i grant you this idea: God created the universe and the base materials in it. Didn't form anything, didn't give life to anything, he just provided the matter and energy that would be necessary for the big bang etc. After doing so he simply didn't give a shit anymore and has since gone on to other things, never interfering with the course of the universe or the things and people in it.
I can believe in something that set everything in motion, but that could go by literally any name.
Roronoa2zoro 1 day ago

@60tesamuels Good plan.
okalov 1 day ago

ZappaIsAgod17 1 day ago

The laws that govern our universe today were not necessarily existent the moment that the Big Bang occured.

The supernatural and the fear that we get, the chills that we get were proven to be pipes. The sound a pipe sometimes makes can let our body know that "WOAH CHILLS!" Or just fear itself. May seem stupid....but it's a scientific fact.
ShadowYay 1 day ago
well, i have more for you. something can come from nothing. also, the big bang theory has not been totally verified. singularities have not been proven. nobody said that the universe is a constant. fucker. einstein corrected himself on that one. the universe "can" create itself, which doesnt mean it did. NOWHERE in your argument did you make any reason to believe god is scientifically possible. WHAT CREATED THE GOD? IS THAT GONNA MAKE YOUR HEAD EXPLODE? HUH FUCKER? listen, learn what logic is...

this video is basically the guy saying you cant disprove god
this is stupid god has no clear definition, cant be taken seriously
KrasnayaArmada 1 day ago
in short, you are an asshole, and an ignorant moron. honestly. you just disproved your own bullshit argument. wtf is wrong with you? nobody ever said that cause and effect was a law. it was assumed before quantum mechanics that Causality was a fundamental part of the universe. this idea has since been overthrown. quantum mechanics says that probability and randomness govern the quantum realm. untill we discover otherwise, nobody is saying cause and effect is a law that has to apply. u just wrong
FutebolFanatico001 1 day ago
@Abovenine Hate to go against you but the law of conservation of mass is broken by einstiens theory of relativity that states energy and mass are interchangeable values whereby mass can become energy and energy mass, this also proves how matter can come from seeming nothingness.
Usedtobeaman99 1 day ago
if this guy was so smart why did he not use his time to give proof of god. who suggested life came from nothing, just got it your dumbass argument revolves around something came from nothing, how lame.
mvagusta750 1 day ago
Stupid, juvenile, and wrong on so many levels. By the way, who created god? And which god are they referring to, anyway? There have been hundreds if not thousands throughout human history.
thebrain58 1 day ago
This is what gets me, we all go to science class, learn what atheists believe. Right? Well not EVERYONE goes to a catholic school, or some other religious school, right? So basically, atheists can't judge a religion if they really haven't learned about it (getting info from the media doesn't count). So we all know what atheists believed, we were taught it too. But atheists didn't learn about religions from a priest, Rabbi, etc. Can't judge something if you haven't heard both sides of the story.
commandergree1231 1 day ago
@commandergree1231 so you're saying that to have a valid opinion on religion, you have to be taught about the religion by an authoritative figure from that religion. So based on that, what is your opinion on Buddhism, Islam, Judaism or Hinduism?
