@VerHugeAss It makes sense to need a permit to have a make your own wine store, afterall it's alcohal right? I share a business opportunity where the membership is free, work from home (when the company is based in California), all the members do is use the product, advertise and share the same opportunity.
@IndyBearable our monetary policy is what is creating the disparity in the income distribution, not capitalism or free markets. forced wealth distribution will have disastrous effects. we need to have sound money and get back to pre-1914 with NO inflation, so the poorest citizens dont suffer such a regressive tax. keep voting democrat though, they push larger government to solve all problems, and that includes larger powers for the fed. wealth distribution has barely changed since 1983 btw
I love it! LOL. Great example. Hopefully all the dipshits out there that think life owes them something will learn something. Dig the song, too! Good job!
Another point. Most "rich people" are not even nationally based anymore. With the advent of the internet and other IT businesses; people can HQ their business anywhere (usually where it is not tax efficient) and will constantly travel from country to country residing in homes they own throughout the world. The rich do not pay tax anymore, as if they ever did. They will have a business HQed in Madagascar and will have a penthouse on Park Ave and will never pay a cent. Don't make it appear t
This video is an overly simplified explanation of how the tax system works. You also have to take a look at how certain people become rich, and it is not always merit based. Many people can not open certain businesses because certain permits needed to legally run a business are only handed-out to certain people. It is easy to become rich when you have a license to steal. For example, a friend of mine tried to open a "make your own wine" store, which required a permit. The city denied him t
Dumb. How do people like this become economic professors? No one is fighting about tax rates relative to their own. They are pointing out that the rich are taxed less than they have historically since 1928. It's tax relative to income.
@greenkansas the effective tax rates for the rich are higher than they were back then, and they're higher than they were in the mid 80s. the top marginal rate and the % you actually pay are not the same thing

If the multi billion dollar company is paying more taxes than we are then the money they got for the bail out is arguably their own money we just gave it back to them.
My Initial point still has not been addressed which is that Companies cut payroll regardless of tax costs. The only thing that gives me the ability to hire more people is sales, and who contributes to 90% of my sales? The middle class. I have laid people off during Clinton, Bush and Obama and taxes had nothing to do with it.
As I said individuals is one thing but corporations that is something else.
If it's not ok to give them a bail out why is it ok to give them a tax cut.
@coljan Yea that's true man. People need to look at the actual economy and how they vote with their dollar instead of just saying "it's not fair. I want the government out of my pocket." If people actually cared about the whole country and not how stupid shit like the few people on welfare then we might not be just a middle classless society. We used to have the greatest middle class in the world
@coljan depending on the business you are in is to who you get money from. The problem is, and you dont seem to get this is, its not about class. Class warfare is meaningless. Its a ploy to get to peoples sentimental side in order to justify taking or giving this group or that group of people reguardless of income. Banking people are not poorly paid by any means and still got money due to sentiment and feeling.
the gvt takes much of its tax money and redistributes it as 'it' sees fit whether the tax payer agrees or not. the main problem as to why the gvt is going broke is cause they are the middle man in the business. before gvt did this, 'rich' people/businesses gave much to their locak community to have this done locally and put local people to work. Now, the gvt does this and gives it to anyone with an excuse. more to come on this soon
Why don't we tax Wal-Mart the number one employer more. I mean they provide so many jobs that employees (people who happened to live in that town and got sucked into the inevitability of it) have to shop there just to make ends meet. Sounds familiar? That's what's happening by businesses tricking half of America that it's ok for them to not pay their fair share. That's just one of many examples. Note: the businesses want people to be anti-government so they can drive wages down to 0
taxing companies more will make things even worse. Taxes are a ploy to get money to do something for the common good. the only thing the federal govt needs taxes for is to pay members of gvt for their service and protect the borders. ALL other money goes to agencies that can be done at the private level.
@HoGraz Again, who is to decide what a 'fair' share is? Since when is someone paying or not paying their 'fair' share. People who make more do pay more. Paying a flat percent is fair but not a progressive percent as we do. You punish the people who work harder in MOST cases. Also, quoting cases on the left and right of the bell curve is stupid too.
@HoGraz they are not going to drive wages down to 0. That is stupid as well. competition keeps wages higher and motivates people to work smarter. Just redistibuting money that is not 'earned' just makes people who receive it lazy. It has been proven in economic classes both highschool and college time and time again. What exactly are you getting at?
@cliffkemp Listen man you we won't see Social Security because of this crap that's been going on for 30 years. That has something to do with people not working. They know that the government doesn't give a shit and they just want the companies to run it. Eisenhower was taxing 91% of millionaires income to get us out of the deficit from wwII. Kennedy cut it in half. If we didn't give out all our money in treasury bonds to China and Saudi Arabia we might be decently ok in 20 years.
@HoGraz I disagree with what you said about quoting the left or right of the bell curve is stupid. Warren Bates said what we need to do is tax people like him more instead of going further into supply side economics. We'd be cutting the deficit by a trillion a year. Also this president is trying to stimulate competition by giving tax breaks to small businesses and slightly raising taxes on large corporations. Honestly they've gotten too big. Everyone was afraid that would happen back in the day.
@HoGraz Did you just disagree with yourself? Warren Buffet? I can tell you that people are moving out of states to avoid individual income tax and moving to FL and TX. Going to give you 4 states to ponder here.
@cliffkemp What is wrong with you Cliffkemp? Do you not believe in America at all? Yes Warren Buffet said repeal the Bush Tax cuts. You should be sucking his corporate cock. He is however one of the few decent guys who believes in that system of capitalism to that degree. Social Security is not worth it to save? I guess we need to just go back to Monarchies where we have surfs working til they drop because the supply-siders think they need to own everything. You just want a free for all.
--values are misinformed. You guys think cause we've been fighting communism for 40 years (which is probably just to make the defense industry make money) that the left who has created what was once known as the Middle Class are communists. It's sorta like feminism or whites talking to blacks. The Republicans bitch about 3% of tax money going to welfare and thinking leftists aren't pulling their weight. They want to believe we have a good system still so they talk down to us.
The right has done nothing but run this country into the ground for 30 years. Even when Clinton was in office the Republicans in Congress were saying "Anything you're for I'm against!" Listen to me. We're all going to be surfs pretty soon if this crap continues to happen. You go put your two chips into the stock market. The guy who owns half the prime shares is the one who votes the C.E.O. in and gives him a bonus for sending the plant to Singapore, not you.
Where do you get your information. Like I said in the message I sent to you. What do you know about economics and how it truly works. I just read your last few messages on the public board and you want to defend your points using sympathy. You will lose every time and is why Friedman made so many 'liberal economists' look so bad cause they tried to argue apples with oranges as you just did.
@HoGraz the problem is, you dont know what the root of the problem is cause you use sympathy and emotion to make judgement on issues you dont fully understand. I can be specific on the cause/effect of how much of this recession came about. It is facts and use of common sense with examples. You have no such other than labeling dems and repubs to people and playing the blame game based on politics. you have not substance yet on your 'points'.
@cliffkemp Dude all you do is make more articulate ad hominid comments. You don't have a leg to stand on. It's this simple. The economy collapse so everything collapsed cause they had to raise taxes which did it in further.
My leg is pretty firm. again, you dont understand why the economy did what it did and it showed in your message. It is clear what happened if you have the proper knowledge and apply SIMPLE economic law to it. This is not rocket science although most of the population doest get it. it is too easy to point the finger with perceived "facts" and through them together with convience as you did and i pointed them out as well. Shall I do more and explain the collapse as well?
@HoGraz the left has done nothing but run this country into the ground since 1908. with their pipe dreams of socialism and marxist communism. neither one of those ideas has lasted longer than 75 years. but capitalism on the other hand has been around since civilization began. every nation that OPENLY tried socialism and marxism is now denouncing it. and when the united states finally takes the final leap and plunges into the socialist cess pit. we will finally denounce it with ONE voice even you
@HoGraz social security is a pyramid scheme and as if on queue after 75 years it is falling to peices. and it is the LEFT which wants monarchies. YOU guys want to disarm the freeman not the right. YOU guys want to centralize the govt instead of hamstringing it. YOU guys want us all living in mud huts without electricity (global warming) YOU guys want so much fucking red tape and taxes that it is virtually impossible to create your own business. ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR OWN ACTIONS.
@markbotv3 I own a gun so shutup. Global warming is probably a reality, but I'm not concerned about that. I am concerned about mountain top removal because I care about this beautiful FRONTIER. I also think nuclear would be a good way to get off of coal and make people produce things like engineering jobs vs just investing in energy. Social Security is falling to pieces cause the Republians have always wanted to destroy it. It's the only thing that makes employers pay pensions now.
@HoGraz you own a gun? good for you brotha. the only thing standing between us little guys and a govt that will throw anybody who disagrees even slightly with their policys into prison the gulag or a gas chamber is the 90 million gun owners here in america. look at serbia civillians werent allowed to own guns. and the LEGITIMATE duly elected govt. went on a killing spree. dito nazi germany maos china cambodia several nations in africa. etc etc etc. if we lose the 2nd amend. the rest are soon 2go
@cliffkemp E Pluribus Unum? Listen the majority of Americans vote on populist things. They want to lower their taxes but the guys on top who control Congress fucked everything up and they get their taxes back from the bail outs. Then it's Obama's fault cause he didn't disguise it as TARP. The top has managed to control everything for the past 30 years. Let me explain something to you. The Democrats have been blocked for 30 years so people like you who think you just got somewhere on your puritan
@HoGraz 3% gos to wellfare? um try 43% that is medicare medicaid social security unemployment food stamps and wellfare. if we cut the parasites off the govt teat. then businesses wouldnt need to be taxed so much so they could expand business which would create jobs and the middle class would BOOM motha fucka. but no you would rather a healthy 22 year old punk make fat cash off the govt dole for doing absolutely nothing. its YOU who are destroying the middle class.
@markbotv3 I'm living off the government dole because I refuse to work a shit job while going to school. I don't have the ability to do both really. I've worked hard all my life and gotten nowhere cause the government is happy with people falling between the cracks like I did. Go ahead and spew out more bile and contempt for little peoples. You miss the fact that the credit system has been killing the middle class for years, plus don't forget this boom and bust cycle. This was all planned.
@HoGraz Get rid of that and they won't pay them that money. Now privatizing it may be a decent idea, but trust me when I was working another shit job a few years back and the economy tanked our company 401k was only matching 25%. That's unacceptable.
@HoGraz um...YOU pay into social security too. 6% of your gross paycheck evaporates. and you will never ever be able to collect it. ssi gos bankrupt 6 months before my 65 birthday. so if you are younger than me you will never collect social security. heck they cut the ssi tax 2.5% this year and it was like getting a pay increase. i get $75 more a paycheck just on that. if it was totally abolished i would have an extra $225 a paycheck!!! ssi is a pyramid scheme
@markbotv3 I'm not living off of food stamps you prick. I'm going back to school because the people's party thinks I should do something that produces value instead of service industry. They are not going to get rid of the 2nd ammendment totally so don't worry you reactionary fat head. What they will do is push us into a recession like Herbert Hoover did just so they could profit off of disaster. Sorry I read books. Plus if they keep outsourcing we'll all be poor.
@HoGraz The Left created the middle class. It didn't magically spring out of the poor on it's own. The GI Bill and the labor Unions were the things that created it. Labor unions outserved time but they did help create the middle class.
@HoGraz the middle class used to be the small farmer. believe it or not farming is still very profitable. a poor farmer still grosses $120000 a year. but thanks to govt restrictions and taxes on top of normal operating expenses they only get to keep if they are lucky $18k of that. still its WAY more than a dumb ass factory worker makes. unions killed the goose that layed the golden egg. with their constant demands. they inflated the economy now everybody is poorer than they were before.
@HoGraz You Republicans are idiots who have bought into the system. You don't pick up on the fact that when you decide you want Satan inside you you've done what they always wanted to. Who's in 1984 now, fuck head?
@HoGraz money is what money does. i would rather make $1/day if it was as valluable as a 1900 dollar. and if the govt was as small as it was in 1900. it would be like tripling my wage now. even though its on paper 1/75th what it was in 1900. but simpletons like you dont understand basic economics. and you never will. you only think of your selves because you are greedy and selfish. LOL and do you always do what the "peoples party" tells you to do? what if they asked you to jump off a bridge?
@HoGraz and illegal imigrants are essentially "outsourcing" jobs. only we are doing it withing the confines of our borders. but the end result is the same. jobs that AMERICAN citizens want and need go to criminals and foriegn nationals who dont have our best interest in mind. and they dont even spend the money here they send it over seas and accross the border so its lose lose for us.
@HoGraz and speaking of the "peoples party" ever heard of VOLKS FRONT? it litterally means "peoples front" its a national socialist group (aka nazi) are you telling me the nazis told you to go back to school? lol what a dumb ass the only people who are working right now IS the service industry. everybody else is getting a pay cut or layed off. you are gonna be like those fuckheaded trust fund babys who moved to prague. they had an education and no way to get a job in their field LOL
@markbotv3 P.S. you're unaware but the GOP is the Hiterlerian party by leaps and bounds. They're the fuckheads that created this mess. Nothing happens on accident. Now they're gutting the government, pensions, and having total corporate takeover, merger madness. Even the banks are making it big with reverse mortgages. In a lot of these prosperous countries the standard of living has gone down but the GDP has gone up. That's what they want: the property of the 'oppulent' protected from the public
@HoGraz what created "this mess" was fannie mae and freddie mac doling out loans to people who had no intention of paying it back (people like you) and it bankrupted the banks...now should bush of bailed them out with TARP? i say NO. the banks should of failed. which would of put an end PERMANANTLY to socialism. the govt would be forced to reduce in size. and then and only then would the economy recover. in a true free market you will have failures. cull the weak so the strong can survive.
@markbotv3 the banks wouldn't have failed anyway, tarp was unnecessary but there were no negative effects, the loans were paid back with interest, we made money off of them. massive bank failures would be a disaster, we'd have another depression. we need to slowly curb our expansive monetary policy to stop inflation once and for all, but it can't be done overnight or else we'll have a monetary collapse
@Welsh77 it is a double edged sword because economic collapse is the only thing to get us out of the recession. as prices plummet people will buy like mad drunken sailers at all the cheap ass goods. which will stimulate production. and stimulated production creates jobs. and jobs creates disposable cash which people spend on goods and services . which stimulates production which creates more jobs. and people with disposable cash......the only ones who lose in economic collapse are jewish bankers
@HoGraz you said "they are not going to get rid of the 2nd amendment TOTALLY so dont worry you reactionary fat head" first off who is "THEY" because THEY dont have the power to impose restrictions on the 2nd ammendment. any restrictions to the 2nd amendment is an "INFRINGEMENT" and is therefore illegal. and the reason "THEY" wont get rid of the 2nd amend isnt because" they" dont want to. its because 90 million armed yeoman wont let "THEM". trust me its on THEIR agenda. look at the UN sculpture
@markbotv3 Oh and the Republicans blocked half of Obama's plans. If they had let him at least spend as much money as Bush did he would have been able to raise the aggragate demand enough to raise the aggregate supply more than an inch. Oh well. Yea we're the nazis. You motherfuckers are so destructive and arrogant.
@HoGraz lol guilty conscience much? when i mentioned a healthy 22 year old living offf the dole i wasnt being specific. i was generalizing. it pisses me off when i see young twenty somthing skater types with food stamp cards. wellfare is intended for widows and the elderly not young healthy people who are just too spoiled and lazy to provide for themselves. dont be the 44 year old dependant who doesnt even know how to pump his own gas or go grocery shopping on his own...dont be THAT guy
Taxing people to death never got anything. Infact, New York and New Jersey tried it and had to repeal it cause they lost income due to people just moving. I am not going to rely on SS anyway but, I am forced to pay it. If you recall, it was Johnson that signed SS into the general fund to make it accessible to Congresses will to use any profit and eventually ANY of it to pay other entitlements. had that not happened, everyone in SS would be sitting pretty if they lived long enough to get it.
the main point is, the rich already pay more taxes than anyone as a constant percent of a higher number is a higher number. Punishing rich people/businesses for their hard work is counterproductive. If left alone, competition will weed out the 'bad' companies that are mismanaged. Since when is it 'fair' to make a 'rich' person/business pay more? who decides that? what is 'rich' and 'poor'? playing with emotions and taking money in the name of 'class' warfare is always self destructive.
OH BEFORE I FORGET! REMEMBER A FEW WEEKS AGO THE REPUBLICAN PARTY KILLED A BILL TO FIGHT OUTSOURCING JOBS OVERSEAS!------------REPUBLICANS ARE MAKING MORE OF A KILLIN KEEPING YOUR JOBS OVERSEAS! CHAMBER OF CORRUPT COMMERCE!!!!!!!!!!
HOW LOW DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO WEAR A NAZI UNIFORM WHILE RUNNING FOR ELECTION???? YOU GUESSED IT! AN OUT OF TOUCH REPUBLICAN! AND YOUR NAME WOULD BE...............RICH LOTT OF OHIO!----------MORE PROOF OTHER THAN BUSH JR THAT THE REPUBLICAN PARTY ARE IDIOTS! OH AND INCLUDE THE ANTI GAY REPUBLICANS...ROY ASHBURN, LARRY CRAIG, MARK FOLEY, TED HAGGARD, BOB ALLEN, GLENN MURPHY JR. .........FAMILY VALUES REPUBLICANS WHAT A HOOT!!!!!!!
The tax laws are in place now. Nothing needs to be done. The taxes for the rich were cut and this law was put on hold during the Bush Administration. The hold expires this December. Tax rates return to what they were under Bush I and Clinton. You remember the Clinton Administration, right? When people had money, had wages, had jobs and there wasn't the big deficit made by Bush? This smear campaign is to confuse people so the rich taxes (over $200,000) don't kick in again.
There will alway be all 3. All have excuses as to why they are where they are. it comes down to motivation and education. When people dont understand something, it is easy to attack it. You can never fix an economy by giving out money to people who dont work for it. Fixing the economy starts with not taxing the rich so much to where they stop offering jobs. When was the last time you worked for a poor person??? Read your history.
Well if you don't like a little socialism then don't call the police,hospitals,911 or any other government agency for help! Instead call your conservative friends the next time your family or friends or yourself is raped, murdered or sick! Wake up people!
There is a HUGE difference between Gov't Services such as fire & police and REDISTRIBUTION such as socialist insecurity, not-wel-nor-fair, crony-corporatist bailouts and central planning to tip the playing field to the favor of those who donated to your campaign.
@yakyakyak69: Redistribution? Correct. I want Wall Street brokers, with less education than I have, to give back my tax dollars. I want old folks to have a secure life at the end, with health insurance. There are people in all parties who are the big business dole, but there are also representatives trying to do for the just folks. All taxation is redistribution, silly. ALL OF IT. You take it from one and pay for services to another. You drive on the roads? You have a sewer? etc.
that is not entirely true. taxation is taking money for a service. the problem with the govt is that many of the services they are doing now were done by charities in which money was given by local business/individuals to help the local people out there. The govt took this a step further and now take money in the name of helping out the poor by their own rules instead of local people doing the job. The gvt became the middle man and created jobs at the gvt level.
The Wall Street bad players are STILL receiving YOUR money!
YOU and I should KEEP what WE earned instead of Progressive-Socialists stealing it and using it to pander for votes from special interest groups like Unions (auto bailout, teniored teachers etc. ) , Banks & Corporations for endless wars on people resisting OUR occupying THEIR soverign nations for 75 years.
There are SERVICES (roads, fire, police etc. ) & there is REDISTRIBUTION creating dependancy & endless poverty.
The problem with that is taxes are not given as charity. they are forced payment. Now, instead of local people helping out locals through church and education such as giving scholarships in someones name that is wealthy, they now have to do it through taxes that are mandated. There is the problem, forcing people to take care of people through taxation. Taxation was never meant to help people as that was the locals job. now, businesses cannot afford to give as much unless they lay off.
the wealthy people no longer give like they used to cause it is now forced out of them through higher taxes in the name of 'helping' others. Now people just take advantage of the system and wont help themselves. there is more to it but, I could write a book on this easily. point is, Taxation was never meant to 'help' a particular group of people out. its purpose is to help with making, writing, and enforcing federal, state, and local laws. its not redistribution.
The only major problem with this interesting bar stool example is it is not Obama's tax plan (or what I think you really mean is Bush's taxcut) which was more like this. However, Bush did not provide the least % savings to the wealthiest as in this example, so this bar stool example is not relevant.
@12Annuanki12 go back to school and take some economics classes and actually pay attention. hiking taxes on the 'rich' HAS NEVER AND WILL NEVER WORK Do a little history on past civilizations and they have ALL failed when this happens. It results in riots and chaos every time. It will take longer as population gets larger. It will happen and is about to happen more and more in the european countries where it is bad.
@cliffkemp This is how naive you are cliff, we are in the worst period of our history economic wise and its not from taxing the rich! We still even this day are not taxing the rich and our economy is drowning and you think not taxing them works? LMAO stop it your killing me! This economy runs because of the people not the "Rich" people. Your telling me its because 90% of the population does not run this country? We are the blood of this country, companies mean nothing without the worker!
@12Annuanki12 first off we are not n as bad economic period as you say, people are got used to spending what they didnt have and it got the best of those that didnt know how manage money. Exactly what do you know of economics and it impacts cause you sound like a fool with everything you write. You really need to go back to school. You have no clue what you are talking about and are a hypocrite to boot. If you want me to explain it to you, I can but, you are not even listening.
@12Annuanki12 your perception of rich and what they have are totally off. 'rich' people are not the problem and never were. Read your history and take some economic classes. Every civilization has gone through the 'tax the rich' and it has never, i repeat, NEVER worked. its a ploy and is class warfare. only a fool that knows nothing about economics or has another agenda would say the crap you say.
@cliffkemp You have been taught wrong cliff, people have been fighting against the rich and unfair taxes for centuries! Which side are you on anyways Mr. PhD in economics! Your laughable! We do not tax the rich period!! They have many more loopholes then the working man does. Big companies and rich people made the tax code to stay rich and keep us poor! I have no problems per say with rich people or companies but when they make laws to benefit them and hurt ordinary people then its wrong!
you are funny as my friend owns a business and makes 7 figures and pays more in taxes in a year than I make in a year. Where do you get your information? ever watch hannity or beck. If they were lying about thier tax quotes, they could be sued. Funny how no one has done that cause they are telling the truth. The rich pay more than anyone and the poor pay nothing as they dont make enough. the middle are getting squeezed too but, where do you draw the line?
history has said 100 percent of the time that taxation and curruption of said money in the name of help the less fortunate will always lead to war in some shape form or fashion. This has held true since 'civilization' has began. By the way, people didnt have money under Bush Sr or Clinton. There was another force at work that neither president did that made things seem that way. Please people learn more about economics and not just running with information that you dont fully understand.
@cliffkemp Hi I have been reading your comments and I might have missed it but would you mind telling me what you do for a living? You don't have to tell me for who you work just what you do
@coljan I have a few jobs actually. Main job is that I make wire and cable for homes and computers. The other jobs are investing and finance. Why do you ask?
@cliffkemp I ask because I was wondering if you had any first hand experience on what corporations do, you see I agree that raising taxes on the top 2% is wrong because someone who makes 250k will not create or reduce jobs except maybe in retail( If they have more money they may shop more) I have friends in this income range. I have been a business manager for 20yrs in 7 different companies and one thing was always consistent regardless of taxes these companies had one rule - cut payroll.
@coljan very true. As people get taxed more, they do not spend money. Not spending money means that others are not put to work either directly or indirectly. Taxing the rich just takes money away from the people who put people to work, whether it be washing someone's cars, house, or doing work of that nature. The bottom line is, when people have money and know they will continue to do so, they spend it putting others to work making the products they buy.
Respond to this video...Corporations don't care if the government cuts or raises their taxes because they are not paying them. They have tax havens that keep them from having to pay the majority of their taxes. We shouldn't punish the regular citizens, instead we should make the multi-billion dollar companies pay their taxes. You are right that nobody works for for people but how many people work directly for someone who makes 250k cleaning ladies, nannies, gardeners, personal trainers
corps do care about taxes to an extent but, can either use FIFO or LIFO to put it in thier favor which is ok. The more you put the squeeze on a company or individual, the less they keep people under them employed. Its more than just that. The 250k earners have investments that keep other companies in business whether it is stocks or bonds or some other type of investment. Notice when a business cycle contracts, the stock market goes down.
@coljan When a business cycle contracts, stocks go down more due to people using that money to pay bills or short term debt due to loss of money in other forms. The market adjusts for this cause companies dont like buying stock back at a loss. Stock goes down as cash flow decreases due to paying money for stock buyback. its the same thing over and over.
bailouts shoud never be done. Let them file for bankruptcy or handle it themselves in hopes that management will do better. bailouts only take away accountability for those responsible. the investor needs to pay more attention to balance sheets and cash flow of a company and make sound investments, its not the gvt responsibility to 'save' anyone and never should be.
As I said before, who determines what is rich and poor. Money is not everything and people are lazy in general. I called you a hypocrit because if you made 10 an hour, you would not pay people to help you do anything as you could not afford to do that. if you made 100 an hour, you could afford to pay people to cut your grass and wash your car, putting them to work as long as they did something to earn it. you are so hung up on the tax tables, you dont see the big picture.
Food for thought. They required NYC residences to do community service for those that were physically able several years back to get the gvt check, 75% didnt show to pick them up for that month. Later the city was being threatened by a lawsuit and gave the money out as usual. At first people are greatful then, they feel entitled, lastly, they become dependant just like birds and birdfeed. Keep them dependant and they will do what you want them to.
I used to work for a 'rich' guy, he didnt mind giving me money as long as I did a fair share of work for it. most are like that and very generous with their money as long as people work for it but, the gvt gives without reason to many. dont get me wrong, many SS people deserve their income but, many have cheated the system and the gvt doesnt do much anything about and can. what do you think Obama ran on. 'going to fix SS fraud' believe it when I see it. havent in over 30 years.
When you hold people accountable for their own decisions, there is no one to blame. the gvt wants to control the masses by taking in the name of helping the less fortunate. A MAJORITY of these less fortunate are just lazy and want everything done for them and play the sentiment game. They are beginning to outnumber the common sense people. its and easy game to play with bad concequences.
Even you, said that you are ok with people that make an honest living. funny thing is, you are bitching about the same people I am but dont seem to see that. by far the gvt is the most corrupt institution in existance and always has been even in past civilizations. Quit playing the blame game on the extremes. heavy taxation on income is an opression and has been proven so for thousands of years. Learn your history, it has never worked.
As a matter of fact the tax rate in the 1950's was 91% on the rich! Now its 16%! Hmmmmmmmm 1950's America boomed now America sucks, you figure out the problem!
@12Annuanki12 matter of fact huh. Humm guess I am super rich cause my tax rate is 17 percent for the fed and 6 for state so that makes 23 percent for me. it was not 91 back then and was actually closer to 35. It is 42 right now for the 'rich' people and congress still cannot control their spending. You seriously have no clue as to taxes other than being ticked that you cannot afford what you want and not what you need.
@12Annuanki12 my grandmother lived the 1950s and it was not that high. maybe you need to go look it up. its not like the 50 were great by any means either. the more you tax people, the more they get mad about it. People work hard for their money and want to spend it they way they want to.
@12Annuanki12 People like yourself have to blame someone for not having what they want and spew BS about taxes. fact is, the gvt is trying to take more taxes from the rich and claiming to help the poor when all they do is give it to themselves. they hire thier friends that help them win elections at the tax payers expense. You are a fool to think it is rich vs poor.
@cliffkemp I'm not one bit jealous or could even give a dam how much money someone has!!! My only concern is how they obtained it (legally)! and if they pay their fair share!! In the 1950s the marginal tax rate on those earning more than $3 million a year (in today's dollars) was 91 percent. By 1990 it was 28 percent. The IRS says that the top 400 richest tax filers actually paid a rate of just 16 percent in 2007!!! This is from the IRS you bone brain!
If you believe the IRS and what they publish, oh man are you green behind the ears. doesnt matter what they pay either. You are missing the point. you want to cut down on taxes, have a national sales tax that taxes based on needs and wants for the percentage and everything is solved and you eliminate the IRS. OH but they cannot have that now can they.
pay their 'fair' share??? just who do you think you are to say 'fair' share. Who is the almighty person(s) that decide what is fair. The 'fair' thing to do is to let everyone spend ALL their earned money how ever they see fit and tax goods/services on a need vs want platform. That is FAIR. Taking peoples money in the name of helping others using sentiment is WRONG and you are advocating it. POWER TO THE PEOPLE, NOT THE GVT. What do you not get about that?
@12Annuanki12 you are still missing the point. Other than heads of companies, the majority of wealthy people are either current congress people or former ones. nearly all the 'wealthy' people have their worth due to the investments they hold in the companies they run/work for. they just dont have money lying around like you seem to think. Most are legit. you still pissed at the extremes of the bell curve. most 'rich' people made their wealth working hard and smart investing.
how do you favor the wealthy? how do you favor anyone with tax codes? it favors no one. Warren Buffet is saying what he is paid to say. Look up some old vids of him and he is singing another tune in the 70s, yet another in the 80s and yet another in the 90s you, seriously believe what one individual says to be the truth?
Have all of you forgotten you basic Accounting equation. Assets = Libility + Capital? If you are in the red, it means that your liabilities and capital are more than all your combined assets. it means you are in the red and if you dont borrow, you will be bankrupt cause you cannot pay your bills with money you dont have. COME ON PEOPLE, WHERE DO YOU GET THIS FROM?
I like this scenario better "If gas went to 20.00 dollars a gallon" who would it hurt more?? A rich man or a poor man! Of course the poor man would be poorer and the rich man........................would still be rich! Without the poor man the rich man would not become rich. The poor man would be poor either way! The rich man simply uses the poor man to get rich and then wants to take his ball and go home when asked to pay more, but they do not hesitate to ask the poor man to pay more! FACT!
@12Annuanki12 it would not hurt either. You dont have to buy gas. Poor people pay less than 10% of all taxes. They get the most help when they need it and not want it. There is a fine line between poor and lazy. As far as controlling your life, Congress (a bunch of rich people do that already)
@12Annuanki12 no one said you had to live 30 miles from work either. you can get real all you want to. last time i checked everyone uses money whether rich or poor. you are playing the class warfare cause you cannot make the money you want and get ticked cause others have more than you not understanding that its not money that is the root of happiness.
@12Annuanki12 put another way, if you have 1000 in the bank and spend 200 a month but collect 100 a month, you are in the red. You will have a positive balance until the 6th month where you will have a negative 100 balance. have you never taken any economics in your life?
When people realize that rich people are not the problem, the economy can start getting better. When people realize that the gvt over spends and wastes money on entitlements that 'give' money away to people that dont earn it, something can be done about it. It is a case by case basis, not everyone is cheating the system but, there are many that are and causing chaos in the system and no one is being held accountable in the gvt.
@redrizzla1989 because it would not show the reality. Ex. if I have $5k in taxes taken out throughout the year and, my tax table show I should have only paid 4k, I would get 1000 back. but, if i had 1k taken out and was in a low income bracket where I qualify for EIC, i would potentially get back more than I paid in due to the EIC. In the real world, the people who work and actually have taxes due, the gvt, takes that money and gives it to the low income people in the form of a credit whether
@redrizzla1989 they paid any income taxes or not. Put another way, they get back more than they put in. I will never see this as I make 'too much' to qualify for EIC. This is part of the reason why some have many kids as you get 1000 a head. The only taxes poorer people pay is sales and they even get that back where as the ave person doesnt. Most people dont get this and as long as they get a check, they dont care where it 'actually' comes from.
you are fogetting that by doing this, that 'money" gets put into capital projects to put more people to work. When was the last time you worked for a poor person? NEVER. the sacrifice went to the rich people that, when they were not rich, poured all their money into the company to get it going. Where do you people get this crap from. Take a look at your own economy and you will contradict nearly everything you just put.
@cliffkemp lol "poured all their money into the company to get it going" where did u hear that?? the majority and vast majority of companies that are aware they going bankrupt they pull out of that business, they dont "poured all their money to get it going" u are heavily brainwashed to think that the powerful care for us and would do anything to keep us in a job for our interest. u talk about "pouring all their money" last time i heard they received gov bailouts to save their business.........
@gceron83 what you heard was many of the major large companies that were mismanaged due to unions in may instances. the company I work for did need any bail money and neither did 10s of thousands of other companies. For the record, top management in my company took a pay cut to help with the situation as well as did many others of people that I know.
@gceron83 Last time I checked, GM, Chryser, Goldman Sachs, and a few others didnt employ the whole US so what are you talking about with bail out money? Secondly, if we were not taxed so much, we would not be filing bankruptcy. Also, I dont know where you get your information but the few dont define the whole.
@gceron83 OUR money is getting taken from us and being spent mostly on backdoor deals that overpay contractors buddies of the gvt. Again with the tax system, no one should be able to get back more than the pay in no matter what their income is but, EIC changes that and you get redistribution of wealth to people who, in some cases, dont deserve it. gvt pays people more for the same job and get better benefits as well with less time served
@gceron83 the whole reason we are in this mess is because the gvt thinks they can spend OUR money better than THE PEOPLE can and use sympathy as the cause for collecting. You name ONE thing that the gvt runs that is not in the red. ONE, there is not one. crooked gvt workers make Bernie Madoff look like a saint conpared to what they have done to this country. And yes, some of the richest people in the world have huge amt of stock in the very company they work for.
@Fuctmentality guess you dont know about SS then. It is in the 'RED' They have been taking from it to prop up other entitlements. Our gvt is in the RED as a whole. Maybe you need to do a little more research before you say things.
@Fuctmentality Actually it is red. There is a difference in being bankrupt and being in the red. Being in the red is when you are spending more than you take in although you may have more money on hand to pay the extra bills at the time it is accounted for. Bankrupt is when you have ran out of ALL the money cause you were in the red too long. Go back to school and learn before you make comments like that. Bush tax cuts were not for entitlements by a long shot
@cliffkemp gain, SS is in the black. I don't know why you felt the need to describe bankrupt.
Again Social Security is in the black. You yourself admitted this, the fact it's been raided to give tax cuts to the rich(I'm glad you see that as an entitlement) doesn't mean it wasn't in the black, not to mention even after it's raided it still balances 0, which is in the black.
I like how you claim to have studied accounting & econ, when you don't know what the terms black & red mean.
@Fuctmentality you must not understand what black and red mean. SS spends more than it brings in but, it had extra money taken in for the first 25 years as many that paid in then didnt live long enough to use it. Before Johnson, it was in a fund all its own and would have stayed in the black. Johnson put it in the general fund so that congress could borrow from it.
@Fuctmentality Not sure what suplus you are talking about. SS is currently paying out more than it brings in. In 2037, they will have to start reducing payment benefits for this very reason. I have been getting statements from them for several years now and they all say this on the second page. SS is part of the gvt's general fund that is currently more than 10 trillion in the RED. As i told the other person, being in the red doesnt mean you dont have money, just means you cannot pay liabilities
@Fuctmentality SS has not had a surplus since the late 70s. you can believe what you want to but i get the same statement everyone else does and SS themselves say that they will run out of money and have to reduce benefits in 2037 not the surplus. they are spending more than they bring in. that is being in the red. go read yours again.
@cliffkemp OMG are you serious? Again we have had surpluses in SS every year for decades, it's projected to continue at a surplus till 2037,. There is no confusion on this issue, it is fact. Understand?
@Fuctmentality I took lots of accounting and economics in school and deal with it every day. You still cannot name anything the gvt runs that is successful and in the black and not red as there is not anything. SS is just a tax now that cannot even gaurantee its payout cause it is in the red and they will have to reduce benefits or take more money in because of this. You keep believing your crap that you posted. People like you are the cause of the problem.
@gceron83 Stock itself by definition is a reinvestment of money to the company to do business. You sound like one of those people that think Steven Jobs or Bill Gates has billions of dollars lying around in a bank collecting dust. Mean ol rich people just hording money. When you quit making decisions based on emotion, the truth will present itself.
@gceron83 most rich people employ people and 'spread' the wealth by making people work for it instead of just giving it away. the tax breaks you speak of are to help keep costs down to get a business up and going and to keep them from laying off in 'not so good' times. If they didnt get tax breaks, people like you and I may not have a job cause the business went under or laid you off due to cuts.
@gceron83 last time I checked, people who have money can afford to employ the people as a whole. In general, the citizens of the US are better off but, it depends on who you want to compare it to. Many out there wont take a lower paying job cause they feel it is degrading or not worth it to them. If I lost my current job, I would flip burgers or cut grass if I had to.
@gceron83 The tax breaks that companies get is to help them stay in business so that people have a place to work. You can nit-pick all you want but, the people who are rich dont just have gobs of money just lying around for them to spend for the fun of it, business doesnt work that way. Its people like you that start the whole class warfare. Its like the bell curve.
@gceron83 An economics teacher graded a class based on socialism and redistributing the wealth. In the end, as always, the class failed cause the smarter ('rich' students) got tired of being brought down by the ones that were getting a free ride and not trying. It never fails. Read your history of civilization of past.
@gceron83 our current tax system takes more money from the people that work hard and gives it to the people that dont as well as overpaying gvt workers. The only justification is that they can afford to pay more. That is BS. Punishing the people who work hard and rewarding the ones that dont. No wonder we have so many on entitlement plans that dont deserve it. SS is going broke cause of this as is every other gvt run program.
@gceron83 Do you realize that if you have children and make under a certain amount, you get back more tax money than you pay in? AGAIN, people fleecing the system. Many people now have kids as a source of money. Between giving handouts, and using emotion to justify a credit, its no wonder the US has not gone into civil war yet. People are only going to take this for so long.
@gceron83 As the video above says, the people on the receiving end were unaffected to begin with. When you run off the 'rich' you no longer have the means to pay for anything. Its an economic fundamental that never changes. The only change is the introduction of sentiment to try to get people to feel sorry for others to get control of more money and play the blame game. It has not changed for 1000s of years and never will. they ALL ended the same for the same reason
tell that to the millions of people who have offered their life to serve this country. They can sacrifice their life but the rich can't sacrifice ten dollars? What a shame. If they want to go overseas they should. Have them betray the country that gave them what they have. They should also be expelled from all American economics. This country is rich in resources and I bet it wouldn't take long to replace them with some other rich mother%%%.
this is a great video thank you for producing it. i have a degree in economics but from u mass a socialist university and was required for me to read karl marx and the communist manifesto. i wish i went to the u of georgia, you guys sound more l0ike capitalists..
Here's an idea. Let's pattern our socioeconomics after failing countries. Here's another one. Let's reward irresponsibility with the money of the hard-working. If stupid were illegal, Obama and his administration would get the electric chair. 40% cannot carry 60%. Even if it's behind a sticker that says "humanitarian" or "charity." If you buy those notions, move to Europe and see what you think of them before supporting those changes here. We had something great once. I'd like to see it return.
I can tell you that the govt money spending is way out of hand. People are getting tired of the govt propping up EVERYTHING. People need to be responsible for themselves and not depend on the govt for everything. Its just laziness. Feeling sorry for someone never got the job done. Giving money for no work performed is bad business and yet the govt does this with millions of people. Sad
Tax rate has been progressive (more income - more tax)
for many decades - never was called socailist during G W Bush's term!

@VerHugeAss It makes sense to need a permit to have a make your own wine store, afterall it's alcohal right? I share a business opportunity where the membership is free, work from home (when the company is based in California), all the members do is use the product, advertise and share the same opportunity.

So, if the amount of money the rich give is so big, stop cutting their taxes !!
MenwithHill 5 months ago
@IndyBearable our monetary policy is what is creating the disparity in the income distribution, not capitalism or free markets. forced wealth distribution will have disastrous effects. we need to have sound money and get back to pre-1914 with NO inflation, so the poorest citizens dont suffer such a regressive tax. keep voting democrat though, they push larger government to solve all problems, and that includes larger powers for the fed. wealth distribution has barely changed since 1983 btw

VeryHugeAss 8 months ago
This video is an overly simplified explanation of how the tax system works. You also have to take a look at how certain people become rich, and it is not always merit based. Many people can not open certain businesses because certain permits needed to legally run a business are only handed-out to certain people. It is easy to become rich when you have a license to steal. For example, a friend of mine tried to open a "make your own wine" store, which required a permit. The city denied him t
VeryHugeAss 8 months ago
Dumb. How do people like this become economic professors? No one is fighting about tax rates relative to their own. They are pointing out that the rich are taxed less than they have historically since 1928. It's tax relative to income.
greenkansas 10 months ago
@greenkansas the effective tax rates for the rich are higher than they were back then, and they're higher than they were in the mid 80s. the top marginal rate and the % you actually pay are not the same thing

If the multi billion dollar company is paying more taxes than we are then the money they got for the bail out is arguably their own money we just gave it back to them.
coljan 1 year ago
My Initial point still has not been addressed which is that Companies cut payroll regardless of tax costs. The only thing that gives me the ability to hire more people is sales, and who contributes to 90% of my sales? The middle class. I have laid people off during Clinton, Bush and Obama and taxes had nothing to do with it.
As I said individuals is one thing but corporations that is something else.
If it's not ok to give them a bail out why is it ok to give them a tax cut.
coljan 1 year ago
@coljan Yea that's true man. People need to look at the actual economy and how they vote with their dollar instead of just saying "it's not fair. I want the government out of my pocket." If people actually cared about the whole country and not how stupid shit like the few people on welfare then we might not be just a middle classless society. We used to have the greatest middle class in the world
HoGraz 1 year ago
@coljan depending on the business you are in is to who you get money from. The problem is, and you dont seem to get this is, its not about class. Class warfare is meaningless. Its a ploy to get to peoples sentimental side in order to justify taking or giving this group or that group of people reguardless of income. Banking people are not poorly paid by any means and still got money due to sentiment and feeling.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
the gvt takes much of its tax money and redistributes it as 'it' sees fit whether the tax payer agrees or not. the main problem as to why the gvt is going broke is cause they are the middle man in the business. before gvt did this, 'rich' people/businesses gave much to their locak community to have this done locally and put local people to work. Now, the gvt does this and gives it to anyone with an excuse. more to come on this soon
cliffkemp 1 year ago
Why don't we tax Wal-Mart the number one employer more. I mean they provide so many jobs that employees (people who happened to live in that town and got sucked into the inevitability of it) have to shop there just to make ends meet. Sounds familiar? That's what's happening by businesses tricking half of America that it's ok for them to not pay their fair share. That's just one of many examples. Note: the businesses want people to be anti-government so they can drive wages down to 0
HoGraz 1 year ago
taxing companies more will make things even worse. Taxes are a ploy to get money to do something for the common good. the only thing the federal govt needs taxes for is to pay members of gvt for their service and protect the borders. ALL other money goes to agencies that can be done at the private level.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
@HoGraz Again, who is to decide what a 'fair' share is? Since when is someone paying or not paying their 'fair' share. People who make more do pay more. Paying a flat percent is fair but not a progressive percent as we do. You punish the people who work harder in MOST cases. Also, quoting cases on the left and right of the bell curve is stupid too.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
@HoGraz they are not going to drive wages down to 0. That is stupid as well. competition keeps wages higher and motivates people to work smarter. Just redistibuting money that is not 'earned' just makes people who receive it lazy. It has been proven in economic classes both highschool and college time and time again. What exactly are you getting at?
cliffkemp 1 year ago
@cliffkemp Listen man you we won't see Social Security because of this crap that's been going on for 30 years. That has something to do with people not working. They know that the government doesn't give a shit and they just want the companies to run it. Eisenhower was taxing 91% of millionaires income to get us out of the deficit from wwII. Kennedy cut it in half. If we didn't give out all our money in treasury bonds to China and Saudi Arabia we might be decently ok in 20 years.
HoGraz 1 year ago
@HoGraz I disagree with what you said about quoting the left or right of the bell curve is stupid. Warren Bates said what we need to do is tax people like him more instead of going further into supply side economics. We'd be cutting the deficit by a trillion a year. Also this president is trying to stimulate competition by giving tax breaks to small businesses and slightly raising taxes on large corporations. Honestly they've gotten too big. Everyone was afraid that would happen back in the day.
HoGraz 1 year ago
@HoGraz Did you just disagree with yourself? Warren Buffet? I can tell you that people are moving out of states to avoid individual income tax and moving to FL and TX. Going to give you 4 states to ponder here.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
@cliffkemp What is wrong with you Cliffkemp? Do you not believe in America at all? Yes Warren Buffet said repeal the Bush Tax cuts. You should be sucking his corporate cock. He is however one of the few decent guys who believes in that system of capitalism to that degree. Social Security is not worth it to save? I guess we need to just go back to Monarchies where we have surfs working til they drop because the supply-siders think they need to own everything. You just want a free for all.
HoGraz 1 year ago
--values are misinformed. You guys think cause we've been fighting communism for 40 years (which is probably just to make the defense industry make money) that the left who has created what was once known as the Middle Class are communists. It's sorta like feminism or whites talking to blacks. The Republicans bitch about 3% of tax money going to welfare and thinking leftists aren't pulling their weight. They want to believe we have a good system still so they talk down to us.
HoGraz 1 year ago

You will lose every time and is why Friedman made so many 'liberal economists' look so bad cause they tried to argue apples with oranges as you just did.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
@HoGraz the problem is, you dont know what the root of the problem is cause you use sympathy and emotion to make judgement on issues you dont fully understand. I can be specific on the cause/effect of how much of this recession came about. It is facts and use of common sense with examples. You have no such other than labeling dems and repubs to people and playing the blame game based on politics. you have not substance yet on your 'points'.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
@cliffkemp Dude all you do is make more articulate ad hominid comments. You don't have a leg to stand on. It's this simple. The economy collapse so everything collapsed cause they had to raise taxes which did it in further.
HoGraz 1 year ago
My leg is pretty firm. again, you dont understand why the economy did what it did and it showed in your message. It is clear what happened if you have the proper knowledge and apply SIMPLE economic law to it. This is not rocket science although most of the population doest get it. it is too easy to point the finger with perceived "facts" and through them together with convience as you did and i pointed them out as well. Shall I do more and explain the collapse as well?
cliffkemp 1 year ago
@HoGraz the left has done nothing but run this country into the ground since 1908. with their pipe dreams of socialism and marxist communism. neither one of those ideas has lasted longer than 75 years. but capitalism on the other hand has been around since civilization began. every nation that OPENLY tried socialism and marxism is now denouncing it. and when the united states finally takes the final leap and plunges into the socialist cess pit. we will finally denounce it with ONE voice even you
markbotv3 1 year ago
@HoGraz social security is a pyramid scheme and as if on queue after 75 years it is falling to peices. and it is the LEFT which wants monarchies. YOU guys want to disarm the freeman not the right. YOU guys want to centralize the govt instead of hamstringing it. YOU guys want us all living in mud huts without electricity (global warming) YOU guys want so much fucking red tape and taxes that it is virtually impossible to create your own business. ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR OWN ACTIONS.
markbotv3 1 year ago
@markbotv3 I own a gun so shutup. Global warming is probably a reality, but I'm not concerned about that. I am concerned about mountain top removal because I care about this beautiful FRONTIER. I also think nuclear would be a good way to get off of coal and make people produce things like engineering jobs vs just investing in energy. Social Security is falling to pieces cause the Republians have always wanted to destroy it. It's the only thing that makes employers pay pensions now.
HoGraz 1 year ago

@HoGraz 3% gos to wellfare? um try 43% that is medicare medicaid social security unemployment food stamps and wellfare. if we cut the parasites off the govt teat. then businesses wouldnt need to be taxed so much so they could expand business which would create jobs and the middle class would BOOM motha fucka. but no you would rather a healthy 22 year old punk make fat cash off the govt dole for doing absolutely nothing. its YOU who are destroying the middle class.
markbotv3 1 year ago
@markbotv3 I'm living off the government dole because I refuse to work a shit job while going to school. I don't have the ability to do both really. I've worked hard all my life and gotten nowhere cause the government is happy with people falling between the cracks like I did. Go ahead and spew out more bile and contempt for little peoples. You miss the fact that the credit system has been killing the middle class for years, plus don't forget this boom and bust cycle. This was all planned.
HoGraz 1 year ago
@HoGraz Get rid of that and they won't pay them that money. Now privatizing it may be a decent idea, but trust me when I was working another shit job a few years back and the economy tanked our company 401k was only matching 25%. That's unacceptable.
HoGraz 1 year ago
@HoGraz um...YOU pay into social security too. 6% of your gross paycheck evaporates. and you will never ever be able to collect it. ssi gos bankrupt 6 months before my 65 birthday. so if you are younger than me you will never collect social security. heck they cut the ssi tax 2.5% this year and it was like getting a pay increase. i get $75 more a paycheck just on that. if it was totally abolished i would have an extra $225 a paycheck!!! ssi is a pyramid scheme
markbotv3 1 year ago
@markbotv3 I'm not living off of food stamps you prick. I'm going back to school because the people's party thinks I should do something that produces value instead of service industry. They are not going to get rid of the 2nd ammendment totally so don't worry you reactionary fat head. What they will do is push us into a recession like Herbert Hoover did just so they could profit off of disaster. Sorry I read books. Plus if they keep outsourcing we'll all be poor.
HoGraz 1 year ago
@HoGraz The Left created the middle class. It didn't magically spring out of the poor on it's own. The GI Bill and the labor Unions were the things that created it. Labor unions outserved time but they did help create the middle class.
HoGraz 1 year ago
@HoGraz the middle class used to be the small farmer. believe it or not farming is still very profitable. a poor farmer still grosses $120000 a year. but thanks to govt restrictions and taxes on top of normal operating expenses they only get to keep if they are lucky $18k of that. still its WAY more than a dumb ass factory worker makes. unions killed the goose that layed the golden egg. with their constant demands. they inflated the economy now everybody is poorer than they were before.
markbotv3 1 year ago
@HoGraz You Republicans are idiots who have bought into the system. You don't pick up on the fact that when you decide you want Satan inside you you've done what they always wanted to. Who's in 1984 now, fuck head?
HoGraz 1 year ago
@HoGraz money is what money does. i would rather make $1/day if it was as valluable as a 1900 dollar. and if the govt was as small as it was in 1900. it would be like tripling my wage now. even though its on paper 1/75th what it was in 1900. but simpletons like you dont understand basic economics. and you never will. you only think of your selves because you are greedy and selfish. LOL and do you always do what the "peoples party" tells you to do? what if they asked you to jump off a bridge?
markbotv3 1 year ago
@HoGraz and illegal imigrants are essentially "outsourcing" jobs. only we are doing it withing the confines of our borders. but the end result is the same. jobs that AMERICAN citizens want and need go to criminals and foriegn nationals who dont have our best interest in mind. and they dont even spend the money here they send it over seas and accross the border so its lose lose for us.
markbotv3 1 year ago
@HoGraz and speaking of the "peoples party" ever heard of VOLKS FRONT? it litterally means "peoples front" its a national socialist group (aka nazi) are you telling me the nazis told you to go back to school? lol what a dumb ass the only people who are working right now IS the service industry. everybody else is getting a pay cut or layed off. you are gonna be like those fuckheaded trust fund babys who moved to prague. they had an education and no way to get a job in their field LOL
markbotv3 1 year ago
@markbotv3 P.S. you're unaware but the GOP is the Hiterlerian party by leaps and bounds. They're the fuckheads that created this mess. Nothing happens on accident. Now they're gutting the government, pensions, and having total corporate takeover, merger madness. Even the banks are making it big with reverse mortgages. In a lot of these prosperous countries the standard of living has gone down but the GDP has gone up. That's what they want: the property of the 'oppulent' protected from the public
HoGraz 1 year ago
@HoGraz what created "this mess" was fannie mae and freddie mac doling out loans to people who had no intention of paying it back (people like you) and it bankrupted the banks...now should bush of bailed them out with TARP? i say NO. the banks should of failed. which would of put an end PERMANANTLY to socialism. the govt would be forced to reduce in size. and then and only then would the economy recover. in a true free market you will have failures. cull the weak so the strong can survive.
markbotv3 1 year ago
@markbotv3 the banks wouldn't have failed anyway, tarp was unnecessary but there were no negative effects, the loans were paid back with interest, we made money off of them. massive bank failures would be a disaster, we'd have another depression. we need to slowly curb our expansive monetary policy to stop inflation once and for all, but it can't be done overnight or else we'll have a monetary collapse
Welsh77 6 months ago in playlist Obama info.
@Welsh77 it is a double edged sword because economic collapse is the only thing to get us out of the recession. as prices plummet people will buy like mad drunken sailers at all the cheap ass goods. which will stimulate production. and stimulated production creates jobs. and jobs creates disposable cash which people spend on goods and services . which stimulates production which creates more jobs. and people with disposable cash......the only ones who lose in economic collapse are jewish bankers
amyhuk 6 months ago
@HoGraz you said "they are not going to get rid of the 2nd amendment TOTALLY so dont worry you reactionary fat head" first off who is "THEY" because THEY dont have the power to impose restrictions on the 2nd ammendment. any restrictions to the 2nd amendment is an "INFRINGEMENT" and is therefore illegal. and the reason "THEY" wont get rid of the 2nd amend isnt because" they" dont want to. its because 90 million armed yeoman wont let "THEM". trust me its on THEIR agenda. look at the UN sculpture

@markbotv3 They still won't. We'll make an exception for you, paranoid.

Taxing people to death never got anything. Infact, New York and New Jersey tried it and had to repeal it cause they lost income due to people just moving. I am not going to rely on SS anyway but, I am forced to pay it. If you recall, it was Johnson that signed SS into the general fund to make it accessible to Congresses will to use any profit and eventually ANY of it to pay other entitlements. had that not happened, everyone in SS would be sitting pretty if they lived long enough to get it.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
the main point is, the rich already pay more taxes than anyone as a constant percent of a higher number is a higher number. Punishing rich people/businesses for their hard work is counterproductive. If left alone, competition will weed out the 'bad' companies that are mismanaged. Since when is it 'fair' to make a 'rich' person/business pay more? who decides that? what is 'rich' and 'poor'? playing with emotions and taking money in the name of 'class' warfare is always self destructive.

yakyakyak69 1 year ago
The tax laws are in place now. Nothing needs to be done. The taxes for the rich were cut and this law was put on hold during the Bush Administration. The hold expires this December. Tax rates return to what they were under Bush I and Clinton. You remember the Clinton Administration, right? When people had money, had wages, had jobs and there wasn't the big deficit made by Bush? This smear campaign is to confuse people so the rich taxes (over $200,000) don't kick in again.

who needs a greater middle class when you can have a giant poor population and a small rich population ?
mouse9111 1 year ago
There will alway be all 3. All have excuses as to why they are where they are. it comes down to motivation and education. When people dont understand something, it is easy to attack it. You can never fix an economy by giving out money to people who dont work for it. Fixing the economy starts with not taxing the rich so much to where they stop offering jobs. When was the last time you worked for a poor person??? Read your history.

There is a HUGE difference between Gov't Services such as fire & police and REDISTRIBUTION such as socialist insecurity, not-wel-nor-fair, crony-corporatist bailouts and central planning to tip the playing field to the favor of those who donated to your campaign.
yakyakyak69 1 year ago
@yakyakyak69: Redistribution? Correct. I want Wall Street brokers, with less education than I have, to give back my tax dollars. I want old folks to have a secure life at the end, with health insurance. There are people in all parties who are the big business dole, but there are also representatives trying to do for the just folks. All taxation is redistribution, silly. ALL OF IT. You take it from one and pay for services to another. You drive on the roads? You have a sewer? etc.
PammyLee4 1 year ago
that is not entirely true. taxation is taking money for a service. the problem with the govt is that many of the services they are doing now were done by charities in which money was given by local business/individuals to help the local people out there. The govt took this a step further and now take money in the name of helping out the poor by their own rules instead of local people doing the job. The gvt became the middle man and created jobs at the gvt level.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
@PammyLee4
There are SERVICES (roads, fire, police etc. ) & there is REDISTRIBUTION creating dependancy & endless poverty.
yakyakyak69 1 year ago
The problem with that is taxes are not given as charity. they are forced payment. Now, instead of local people helping out locals through church and education such as giving scholarships in someones name that is wealthy, they now have to do it through taxes that are mandated. There is the problem, forcing people to take care of people through taxation. Taxation was never meant to help people as that was the locals job. now, businesses cannot afford to give as much unless they lay off.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
the wealthy people no longer give like they used to cause it is now forced out of them through higher taxes in the name of 'helping' others.

It will happen and is about to happen more and more in the european countries where it is bad.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
@cliffkemp This is how naive you are cliff, we are in the worst period of our history economic wise and its not from taxing the rich! We still even this day are not taxing the rich and our economy is drowning and you think not taxing them works? LMAO stop it your killing me! This economy runs because of the people not the "Rich" people. Your telling me its because 90% of the population does not run this country? We are the blood of this country, companies mean nothing without the worker!
12Annuanki12 1 year ago
@12Annuanki12 first off we are not n as bad economic period as you say, people are got used to spending what they didnt have and it got the best of those that didnt know how manage money. Exactly what do you know of economics and it impacts cause you sound like a fool with everything you write. You really need to go back to school. You have no clue what you are talking about and are a hypocrite to boot. If you want me to explain it to you, I can but, you are not even listening.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
@12Annuanki12 your perception of rich and what they have are totally off. 'rich' people are not the problem and never were. Read your history and take some economic classes. Every civilization has gone through the 'tax the rich' and it has never, i repeat, NEVER worked. its a ploy and is class warfare. only a fool that knows nothing about economics or has another agenda would say the crap you say.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
@cliffkemp You have been taught wrong cliff, people have been fighting against the rich and unfair taxes for centuries! Which side are you on anyways Mr. PhD in economics! Your laughable! We do not tax the rich period!! They have many more loopholes then the working man does. Big companies and rich people made the tax code to stay rich and keep us poor! I have no problems per say with rich people or companies but when they make laws to benefit them and hurt ordinary people then its wrong!
12Annuanki12 1 year ago
you are funny as my friend owns a business and makes 7 figures and pays more in taxes in a year than I make in a year.

Thank you
coljan 1 year ago
@coljan I have a few jobs actually. Main job is that I make wire and cable for homes and computers. The other jobs are investing and finance. Why do you ask?
cliffkemp 1 year ago
@cliffkemp I ask because I was wondering if you had any first hand experience on what corporations do, you see I agree that raising taxes on the top 2% is wrong because someone who makes 250k will not create or reduce jobs except maybe in retail( If they have more money they may shop more) I have friends in this income range. I have been a business manager for 20yrs in 7 different companies and one thing was always consistent regardless of taxes these companies had one rule - cut payroll.
coljan 1 year ago
@coljan very true. As people get taxed more, they do not spend money. Not spending money means that others are not put to work either directly or indirectly. Taxing the rich just takes money away from the people who put people to work, whether it be washing someone's cars, house, or doing work of that nature. The bottom line is, when people have money and know they will continue to do so, they spend it putting others to work making the products they buy.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
Respond to this video...Corporations don't care if the government cuts or raises their taxes because they are not paying them. They have tax havens that keep them from having to pay the majority of their taxes. We shouldn't punish the regular citizens, instead we should make the multi-billion dollar companies pay their taxes. You are right that nobody works for for people but how many people work directly for someone who makes 250k cleaning ladies, nannies, gardeners, personal trainers
coljan 1 year ago
corps do care about taxes to an extent but, can either use FIFO or LIFO to put it in thier favor which is ok. The more you put the squeeze on a company or individual, the less they keep people under them employed. Its more than just that. The 250k earners have investments that keep other companies in business whether it is stocks or bonds or some other type of investment. Notice when a business cycle contracts, the stock market goes down.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
@coljan When a business cycle contracts, stocks go down more due to people using that money to pay bills or short term debt due to loss of money in other forms. The market adjusts for this cause companies dont like buying stock back at a loss. Stock goes down as cash flow decreases due to paying money for stock buyback. its the same thing over and over.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
Respond to this video...I am curious about one thing. What does everyone think about the bailouts and why? anyone can reply
coljan 1 year ago
bailouts shoud never be done. Let them file for bankruptcy or handle it themselves in hopes that management will do better. bailouts only take away accountability for those responsible. the investor needs to pay more attention to balance sheets and cash flow of a company and make sound investments, its not the gvt responsibility to 'save' anyone and never should be.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
As I said before, who determines what is rich and poor. Money is not everything and people are lazy in general. I called you a hypocrit because if you made 10 an hour, you would not pay people to help you do anything as you could not afford to do that. if you made 100 an hour, you could afford to pay people to cut your grass and wash your car, putting them to work as long as they did something to earn it. you are so hung up on the tax tables, you dont see the big picture.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
Food for thought. They required NYC residences to do community service for those that were physically able several years back to get the gvt check, 75% didnt show to pick them up for that month. Later the city was being threatened by a lawsuit and gave the money out as usual. At first people are greatful then, they feel entitled, lastly, they become dependant just like birds and birdfeed. Keep them dependant and they will do what you want them to.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
I used to work for a 'rich' guy, he didnt mind giving me money as long as I did a fair share of work for it. most are like that and very generous with their money as long as people work for it but, the gvt gives without reason to many. dont get me wrong, many SS people deserve their income but, many have cheated the system and the gvt doesnt do much anything about and can. what do you think Obama ran on. 'going to fix SS fraud' believe it when I see it. havent in over 30 years.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
When you hold people accountable for their own decisions, there is no one to blame. the gvt wants to control the masses by taking in the name of helping the less fortunate. A MAJORITY of these less fortunate are just lazy and want everything done for them and play the sentiment game. They are beginning to outnumber the common sense people. its and easy game to play with bad concequences.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
Even you, said that you are ok with people that make an honest living. funny thing is, you are bitching about the same people I am but dont seem to see that. by far the gvt is the most corrupt institution in existance and always has been even in past civilizations. Quit playing the blame game on the extremes. heavy taxation on income is an opression and has been proven so for thousands of years. Learn your history, it has never worked.

As a matter of fact the tax rate in the 1950's was 91% on the rich! Now its 16%! Hmmmmmmmm 1950's America boomed now America sucks, you figure out the problem!
12Annuanki12 1 year ago
@12Annuanki12 matter of fact huh. Humm guess I am super rich cause my tax rate is 17 percent for the fed and 6 for state so that makes 23 percent for me. it was not 91 back then and was actually closer to 35. It is 42 right now for the 'rich' people and congress still cannot control their spending. You seriously have no clue as to taxes other than being ticked that you cannot afford what you want and not what you need.

They can keep their money (the rich) its worthless unless we (poor) people use it!
12Annuanki12 1 year ago
@12Annuanki12 People like yourself have to blame someone for not having what they want and spew BS about taxes. fact is, the gvt is trying to take more taxes from the rich and claiming to help the poor when all they do is give it to themselves. they hire thier friends that help them win elections at the tax payers expense. You are a fool to think it is rich vs poor.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
@cliffkemp I'm not one bit jealous or could even give a dam how much money someone has!!! My only concern is how they obtained it (legally)! and if they pay their fair share!! In the 1950s the marginal tax rate on those earning more than $3 million a year (in today's dollars) was 91 percent. By 1990 it was 28 percent. The IRS says that the top 400 richest tax filers actually paid a rate of just 16 percent in 2007!!! This is from the IRS you bone brain!
12Annuanki12 1 year ago
If you believe the IRS and what they publish, oh man are you green behind the ears. doesnt matter what they pay either. You are missing the point. you want to cut down on taxes, have a national sales tax that taxes based on needs and wants for the percentage and everything is solved and you eliminate the IRS. OH but they cannot have that now can they.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
pay their 'fair' share??? just who do you think you are to say 'fair' share. What do you not get about that?
cliffkemp 1 year ago
@cliffkemp forget it no one can show you things!! No need to talk anymore!
12Annuanki12 1 year ago
@12Annuanki12 you are still missing the point. Most are legit. you still pissed at the extremes of the bell curve. most 'rich' people made their wealth working hard and smart investing.

The rich man simply uses the poor man to get rich and then wants to take his ball and go home when asked to pay more, but they do not hesitate to ask the poor man to pay more! FACT!
12Annuanki12 1 year ago
@12Annuanki12 it would not hurt either. You dont have to buy gas. Poor people pay less than 10% of all taxes. They get the most help when they need it and not want it. There is a fine line between poor and lazy. As far as controlling your life, Congress (a bunch of rich people do that already)

When people realize that rich people are not the problem, the economy can start getting better. When people realize that the gvt over spends and wastes money on entitlements that 'give' money away to people that dont earn it, something can be done about it. redrizzla1989 1 year ago
In the real world, the people who work and actually have taxes due, the gvt, takes that money and gives it to the low income people in the form of a credit whether
cliffkemp 1 year ago
@redrizzla1989 they paid any income taxes or not. Put another way, they get back more than they put in. I will never see this as I make 'too much' to qualify for EIC. This is part of the reason why some have many kids as you get 1000 a head. The only taxes poorer people pay is sales and they even get that back where as the ave person doesnt. Most people dont get this and as long as they get a check, they dont care where it 'actually' comes from.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
of course the richest benefit more from tax breaks they make more money and the more tax breaks they get the more money they keep.

you are fogetting that by doing this, that 'money" gets put into capital projects to put more people to work. When was the last time you worked for a poor person? NEVER. the sacrifice went to the rich people that, when they were not rich, poured all their money into the company to get it going. Where do you people get this crap from. Take a look at your own economy and you will contradict nearly everything you just put.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
@cliffkemp lol "poured all their money into the company to get it going" where did u hear that?? the majority and vast majority of companies that are aware they going bankrupt they pull out of that business, they dont "poured all their money to get it going" u are heavily brainwashed to think that the powerful care for us and would do anything to keep us in a job for our interest. u talk about "pouring all their money" last time i heard they received gov bailouts to save their business.........
gceron83 1 year ago
@gceron83 what you heard was many of the major large companies that were mismanaged due to unions in may instances. the company I work for did need any bail money and neither did 10s of thousands of other companies. @gceron83 Last time I checked, GM, Chryser, Goldman Sachs, and a few others didnt employ the whole US so what are you talking about with bail out money? Secondly, if we were not taxed so much, we would not be filing bankruptcy. Also, I dont know where you get your information but the few dont define the whole.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
@cliffkemp .......tax dollards OUR money.....not THEIR money......
gceron83 1 year ago
@gceron83 OUR money is getting taken from us and being spent mostly on backdoor deals that overpay contractors buddies of the gvt. Again with the tax system, no one should be able to get back more than the pay in no matter what their income is but, EIC changes that and you get redistribution of wealth to people who, in some cases, dont deserve it. gvt pays people more for the same job and get better benefits as well with less time served
cliffkemp 1 year ago
@gceron83 the whole reason we are in this mess is because the gvt thinks they can spend OUR money better than THE PEOPLE can and use sympathy as the cause for collecting. You name ONE thing that the gvt runs that is not in the red. ONE, there is not one. crooked gvt workers make Bernie Madoff look like a saint conpared to what they have done to this country. And yes, some of the richest people in the world have huge amt of stock in the very company they work for.

@cliffkemp "You name ONE thing that the gvt runs that is not in the red"
Social Security.
Fuctmentality 1 year ago
@Fuctmentality guess you dont know about SS then. It is in the 'RED' They have been taking from it to prop up other entitlements. Our gvt is in the RED as a whole. Maybe you need to do a little more research before you say things.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
@cliffkemp Actually it is black, & I agree the Bush tax cuts were entitlements.
Fuctmentality 1 year ago
@Fuctmentality Actually it is red. There is a difference in being bankrupt and being in the red. Being in the red is when you are spending more than you take in although you may have more money on hand to pay the extra bills at the time it is accounted for. Bankrupt is when you have ran out of ALL the money cause you were in the red too long. Go back to school and learn before you make comments like that. Bush tax cuts were not for entitlements by a long shot
cliffkemp 1 year ago
@cliffkemp gain, SS is in the black. I don't know why you felt the need to describe bankrupt.
Again Social Security is in the black. You yourself admitted this, the fact it's been raided to give tax cuts to the rich(I'm glad you see that as an entitlement) doesn't mean it wasn't in the black, not to mention even after it's raided it still balances 0, which is in the black.
I like how you claim to have studied accounting & econ, when you don't know what the terms black & red mean.
Fuctmentality 1 year ago
@Fuctmentality you must not understand what black and red mean. SS spends more than it brings in but, it had extra money taken in for the first 25 years as many that paid in then didnt live long enough to use it. Before Johnson, it was in a fund all its own and would have stayed in the black. Johnson put it in the general fund so that congress could borrow from it.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
@cliffkemp No I know what black & Red mean, red ink means loss, black profit or gain or surplus.
Social Security runs a surplus every year & is expected to till 2037.
Fuctmentality 1 year ago
@Fuctmentality Not sure what suplus you are talking about. SS is currently paying out more than it brings in. In 2037, they will have to start reducing payment benefits for this very reason. I have been getting statements from them for several years now and they all say this on the second page. SS is part of the gvt's general fund that is currently more than 10 trillion in the RED. As i told the other person, being in the red doesnt mean you dont have money, just means you cannot pay liabilities
cliffkemp 1 year ago
@Fuctmentality SS has not had a surplus since the late 70s. you can believe what you want to but i get the same statement everyone else does and SS themselves say that they will run out of money and have to reduce benefits in 2037 not the surplus. they are spending more than they bring in. that is being in the red. go read yours again.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
@cliffkemp OMG are you serious? Again we have had surpluses in SS every year for decades, it's projected to continue at a surplus till 2037,. There is no confusion on this issue, it is fact. Understand?
Fuctmentality 1 year ago
@Fuctmentality I took lots of accounting and economics in school and deal with it every day. You still cannot name anything the gvt runs that is successful and in the black and not red as there is not anything. SS is just a tax now that cannot even gaurantee its payout cause it is in the red and they will have to reduce benefits or take more money in because of this. You keep believing your crap that you posted. People like you are the cause of the problem.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
@gceron83 Stock itself by definition is a reinvestment of money to the company to do business. You sound like one of those people that think Steven Jobs or Bill Gates has billions of dollars lying around in a bank collecting dust. Mean ol rich people just hording money. When you quit making decisions based on emotion, the truth will present itself.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
@gceron83 most rich people employ people and 'spread' the wealth by making people work for it instead of just giving it away. the tax breaks you speak of are to help keep costs down to get a business up and going and to keep them from laying off in 'not so good' times. If they didnt get tax breaks, people like you and I may not have a job cause the business went under or laid you off due to cuts.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
@cliffkemp ok i might be blind that after all the tax break we recently got, we are all much better now..oh yea..sure....
gceron83 1 year ago
@gceron83 last time I checked, people who have money can afford to employ the people as a whole. In general, the citizens of the US are better off but, it depends on who you want to compare it to. Many out there wont take a lower paying job cause they feel it is degrading or not worth it to them. If I lost my current job, I would flip burgers or cut grass if I had to.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
@gceron83 The tax breaks that companies get is to help them stay in business so that people have a place to work. You can nit-pick all you want but, the people who are rich dont just have gobs of money just lying around for them to spend for the fun of it, business doesnt work that way. Its people like you that start the whole class warfare. Its like the bell curve.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
@gceron83 An economics teacher graded a class based on socialism and redistributing the wealth. In the end, as always, the class failed cause the smarter ('rich' students) got tired of being brought down by the ones that were getting a free ride and not trying. It never fails. Read your history of civilization of past.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
@gceron83 our current tax system takes more money from the people that work hard and gives it to the people that dont as well as overpaying gvt workers. The only justification is that they can afford to pay more. That is BS. Punishing the people who work hard and rewarding the ones that dont. No wonder we have so many on entitlement plans that dont deserve it. SS is going broke cause of this as is every other gvt run program.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
@gceron83 Do you realize that if you have children and make under a certain amount, you get back more tax money than you pay in? AGAIN, people fleecing the system. Many people now have kids as a source of money. Between giving handouts, and using emotion to justify a credit, its no wonder the US has not gone into civil war yet. People are only going to take this for so long.
cliffkemp 1 year ago
@gceron83 As the video above says, the people on the receiving end were unaffected to begin with. When you run off the 'rich' you no longer have the means to pay for anything. Its an economic fundamental that never changes. The only change is the introduction of sentiment to try to get people to feel sorry for others to get control of more money and play the blame game. It has not changed for 1000s of years and never will. they ALL ended the same for the same reason
cliffkemp 1 year ago
tell that to the millions of people who have offered their life to serve this country.

Sad
