@Bankypunk I disagree with you. How can you honestly say that anyone would feel safer with the gun not being shown then with the gun being shown? Do you honestly think that a criminal would be walking the campus with a gun strapped to their side for everyone to see? I too am a CCW permit holder in the state of Utah and chose to Conceal my weapon(s) however Open Carry is also an *RIGHT that we have and should not be taken away just cause some think that they have something to worry about when
in all actuality the criminals are the ones you should be worried about and they are the ones that will try to slide under the radar and have no regards in how you feel or how you think of them... Our rights are being taken away from us day in and day out. This individual is one that when the cards are on the table could be the one saving yours or someone you knows life.
You missed my point entirely. I'm in favor of Concealed Carry on college campuses, just not Open Carry. I myself am a CCW permit holder and would carry on my own college campus if I were legally allowed to. I'm just against Open Carry because it makes people feel uncomfortable to have people around them showing off their guns like they were in the wild west. It's unnecessary and all it does is fuel anti-gun sentiments.
This guy has no respect for the other people at his university. What about their right to feel safe and secure on their college campus? Most people don't like the idea of people walking around with guns. We should stick with concealed carry so we don't scare enough of them into banning carrying ALL TOGETHER. Pushing the envelope will only succeed in negative consequences.
Good for him filming that. Cameras are better than guns, anyway. If you can only carry concealed and you need a permit to do it, then you have no gun 'rights' to carry at all. Further, permits can be denied you based on how the sheriff or others view your 'rights' that they are regulating. If alarming someone makes you a criminal, where is the boundary for free speech purposes?

How nice that UVU can interpret state laws however they want instead of respecting the rights of students.
