Omg... I was cracking up when you focused on the screen and it said "Service Pack could not install changes are reverting" and your face is like WTF?!!?!?!
i like vista... right now, it works perfectly on my computer, and i can wait even 1 hours for a big service pack like this, but you must know, that vista SP1 is make vista slower then before so if you manage to install it you must install SP2 after it, and it will make you computer faster than ever. vista sp2 is a great thing.
i think microsoft put vista out there to make people get to the point in where they want to throw their computer out of a 20storey building haha cant believe that gets to 100% then says it didnt install haha thats torture vista should be recalled all of it no point in it at all!!
lol I have an emachines T5086 from 07. Came with vista. I NEVER had any problems with it. Vista never crashed on me. Besides, if any of you were smart enough. You would go and look up blackviper vista on Google. It's definitely worth it. He/she has registry files that you can use to make vista faster.

Everybody that watch this video vista never have any ploblem but if you have a computer that is slow but what he say at the end is dont buy vista but my word is buy vista dont use xp anymore because xp is old and vista is new and dose it matter that is use up more resourse as long that the computer runs faster
do you know why is doing the install the updates for service pack 1 because it download the update and it put it in a folder and once you restart it the folder well put it in place and so dose xp it dose the same thing
no, I really mean it... actually I was in my brothers computer when I wrote that... now Im in my flatscreen computer and... well, you look even cutter o.O... Sorry I had to say it ^^'
Of course SP1 did not install. You have to install the smaller updates first that come before the SP1 install.
BTW I have a Dell Laptop. Vista worked great on my computer. Every driver and software functioned like I wanted it to. And I only have 3 GBs of RAM and 320 GB of Hard Drive space.
And if you count in the Intel's 2 Duo Core Processor... that's the way to go! :D
ps of your a douche that has not used vista for more then a month on a daily account and still find it necessary to complain then you need to go cower in a dark corner and wait till death and an old cranky janitor removes your body and places it in the dumpster
I actually have used Vista for more than one month on a daily account. This video isn't meant to be taken 100% seriously. Did you bother reading the description?

Ye' man. Good choice. Vista sux donkey dick. It's just so incompatible with every lil' thing! On that note. Hey "minxamo" & "Tman0x99", are ya'll even software inclined enough to say vista is a respectable operating system? Do you actually use a PC that much to install drivers for your digital cameras, scanners, printers, or most of all, video editing software without a hint of vista error messages? C'mon, just admit vista sucks and you aren't a big enough computer power user to realize it!
wow that laptops painfully slow.... i have vista and it doesn't take anywhere near that long to close windows, they close instantly... but the icons do flicker randomly for a second or two
Service pack didn't really do anything for me, but you probably have so many problems because you got a piece of shit computer that you got for $500 at Costco. And it's not like OSX or Ubuntu doesn't have a whole bunch of unnecessary eye candy that makes it slow. All computers are glitchy and slow at times, so companies cover it with eye candy.
acualy i got vista and its a lot faster you just have so much crap in your computer that it does take time and it cant do it becaus some program doesnt let it to finish
Well I personally like Vista. I installed SP1 on my computer and I didn't get that. But when you use Vista I recommend you get at least 2 GBs of RAM and a fast CPU like an Intel Duo Core at like 2.3 GHz. But if you get a computer that has crappy specs Vista consistently freezes.
Good video/s. The slow installing and failed install, as well as your computer doing that flicker thing must be your laptop's doing, as I never had any of these problems.
I believe either ram or hard drive speed is the biggest factor.

I'm actually saying that the speed of the installation isn't windows, it's based on your hardware. Sooo, if it was installing slowly, it's your hardware's fault. Not vista itself.
Restore points useless? Ha. If it didn't install correctly, you'd have to revert back to factory settings and would lose all of your files and programs. If you have a restore point, it'll just go back to the point right before you started installation.
Bullshit! if u buy a computer WITH vista u dont have to go through with this!! HELLO?!?! R U ALL IDIOTS?! New computers generally lead to new operating systems! if you have XP you dont have to upgrade to vista right away! Vista is awesome, just watch the first part of this video!
If you buy a computer with Vista (which I did), you still have to go through with this. Microsoft releases new service packs, and this is how one installs them.
Are you saying I should buy a new computer every time a new service pack is released?
I know you don't have to upgrade if you have XP. But I never had XP on this computer. So what are you saying?
Vista DOES work for me (the Service Pack is now installed) but I wouldn't call it an awesome OS.
im not saying you need o buy a new computer with every service pack
also, if you have vista already it may not take as long to upgrade, since you have the base OS but if u have XP and want to upgrade to Vista your destroying everything and starting all over again, which takes long on Animal Crossing so in real life on a laptop where you need to actually "start over" you cant expect it to take a short amount of time
vista is only slow if you buy it pre installed on new PC because all the pre loaded programs and junk no one really need so i bought the windows vista ultimate disk and now its as fast as ever
a normal operating system would be quicker and would have less errors... i don't know what's cool about vista.? i tryed it. and i'f switcht now to linux... witch is mutch better
The whole series was meant to be sarcastic and end on a bad note.
You should have read the video description.
Linux is a useless OS for me and it's not compatible with my wireless adapters. I've not once gotten them to work with it and there is absolutely no point in me getting that operating system.
Frankly, Ethan, Ubuntu is pretty nifty. I don't know when you tried it, but the wifi drivers haven't been much of a problem in the latest releases.
The thing is: It's better at pretty much everything, except gaming, which I'm guessing is what you need your computer the most for. If you're doing virtually any kind of work it is the better OS and once you get used to the customisations, stability and, my all time favourite, automatic updates for all* your programs, there's no coming back. Try it.
Haha Ubuntu is better at using Adobe Production Premium CS3?
Okay I don't want to try it. You're like someone forcing their religion on me. I just recently tried it on my desktop. Guess what? It didn't pick up the second screen the right way. It flashed random colors.
The fact is every time I have tried it I hated it. It's not a hard concept to grasp. Windows is so much better for me that it's no contest.
Look, if you said that Linux lacks professional video editing software, which is the case (as far as I know photo, audio and 3d editing are pretty well covered), it'd be a reasonable argument. Saying that it can't, natively, run CS3 and is thus inferior is like saying that Windows is crap because it can't run iPhoto, while Mac runs it natively.
Heh, no, if I was like someone forcing a religion on you I'd be calling you an infidel for not supporting the FOSS movement or something like that.
Yeah that's true. Cause hardly anything is compatible with Ubuntu and I'm bored on it most of the times. But I love the Interface and the RAM doesn't take up Much... But I like Windows better and Mac, Linux is okay for me.
What I do is dual boot XP for gaming,Linux for everything else. Last but not least: If you really want to learn how computers work, there's no better way of doing it than installing a Linux distro. Pretty much all of my friends switched to and stayed with it. As the joke goes "I installed Ubuntu on my girlfriend's computer, who ran smiley.exe. Three month later, I dumped her because she was in IRC and compiling the kernel 24x7." Believe it or not, there's a lot of truth it the story. :P
Off topic: Aren't these OS related problems fun? Seriously, I have a great time trying to get OS's to run properly. I just played with Mandriva One 2009, and that one was tons of fun. ATI drivers were challenging to get working with X, Nvidia legacy drivers/cards didn't work at all, flash didn't work in Opera browser, and I had problems with conflicting apps. You really learn an OS if you have to fix it yourself. Embrace those moments. Trust me, you don't have the worst of it.
To me, fixing any big computer problem is fun. I love learning about computers, how they work, and how to fix them. Any new knowledge only helps me, so yes I can agree.
Well i have to disagree on your insights on vista, but i do agree with you on that, fixing computers are fun, that way your always prepared for a new problem.
i have one thing to say about this and maybe fix the error first you go to circt city and buy windows vista with windows vista sp1 already on the cd and then you download it and then at the end you have... windows vista and windows vista sp1 already on it =]! (windows vista rules!)
this is what you get if you have windows vista pre installed, all pre loaded operating systems is all crap thats why i bought vista on a DVD and now my PC runs faster than what it used to
Vista used a restore point in your video. The install failed which rarely happens, but luckily enough there was a restore point so nothing was lost. As for updates leopard didn't really do much over tiger yet cost 100 dollars. It's nice getting free large updates to fix problems. Mac has problems too they just wait a year and charge 100 for it. My friend's camera is not being recognized by his brand new macbook. Maybe that will be fixed in snow leopard.
Alright. I...don't know what Macs had to do with this conversation or why you brought up 10.x in the first place, so if there's something I'm missing or I forgot I said please let me know. Anyway thanks for commenting.
Ahahahah. Restore points useless? Are you that stupid? Also SP1 was reliability and updating core files not GUI. A service pack is a huge file, it's the equivalent of all the 10.x "operating systems" you buy. But for free. I've never had a problem installing vista service packs.
Sure restore points are useful, but when do you need to use them? I rarely do. I think I used one once many years ago on an older computer. Besides that, they have been of no use to me.
I never said the GUI would be updated in SP1. A service pack is huge (hundreds of megabytes), yes, but it's nowhere near the size of the OS itself.
I have no idea what "10.x 'operating systems' you buy" is, but I don't experience this problem anymore, so it doesn't matter.
buy vista service pack 1 on a DVD so you dont have to waste 30 minutes installing a service pack, i did and i have NO PROBLEMES, never had a major problem for 10 months now
It's not the way I installed it. It was something in my Vista setup that was causing the problem. Either way it's fixed now, so I don't care what the problem was.
I have 2 GB. The normal Vista without SP1 works fine, so you're telling me I need to move up to 3 or 4 just to get SP1? Well it installed anyway, so I don't really know what you mean.
It took like 10 minutes for me, and it actually worked. My Vista actually works. The only problem I've found so far is the annoying inquisition when you want to play any games or do just about anything.
i like vista but windows 7 better.I cant say that vista is bad, my dad is working with vista and its very fast without problems.

No I don't think I'm stupid. I think:
I was acting. I've fixed this error.
The whole series was meant to be sarcastic and end on a bad note.
You should have read the video description.
Linux is a useless OS for me and it's not compatible with my wireless adapters. I've not once gotten them to work with it and there is absolutely no point in me getting that operating system.

You're hearing from me. I'm not a big fan of homophobes though. I'm not gay but I am a supporter of gay rights.
Anyway at least you said sorry.

Try it.
Yupiyeahs 3 years ago
Haha Ubuntu is better at using Adobe Production Premium CS3?
Okay I don't want to try it. You're like someone forcing their religion on me. I just recently tried it on my desktop. Guess what? It didn't pick up the second screen the right way. It flashed random colors.
The fact is every time I have tried it I hated it. It's not a hard concept to grasp. Windows is so much better for me that it's no contest.
EthteckBlog 3 years ago
Look, if you said that Linux lacks professional video editing software, which is the case (as far as I know photo, audio and 3d editing are pretty well covered), it'd be a reasonable argument. Saying that it can't, natively, run CS3 and is thus inferior is like saying that Windows is crap because it can't run iPhoto, while Mac runs it natively.
Heh, no, if I was like someone forcing a religion on you I'd be calling you an infidel for not supporting the FOSS movement or something like that.
Yupiyeahs 3 years ago

Cheers!

I'm glad you enjoy Linux, but I have no use for it. My computers work perfectly for everything I use so why switch?

Why do people upgrade from Win2k to XP to Vista to upcoming Win7? In many regards, it's simply a superior system. You know it when you see it.

I generally enjoy fixing compy problems also, but Vista always made them a pain in the ass to fix! The end made me laugh :P
webbie878 3 years ago
Off topic: Aren't these OS related problems fun? Seriously, I have a great time trying to get OS's to run properly. I just played with Mandriva One 2009, and that one was tons of fun. ATI drivers were challenging to get working with X, Nvidia legacy drivers/cards didn't work at all, flash didn't work in Opera browser, and I had problems with conflicting apps. You really learn an OS if you have to fix it yourself. Embrace those moments. Trust me, you don't have the worst of it.
MusicalSeizure 3 years ago
To me, fixing any big computer problem is fun. I love learning about computers, how they work, and how to fix them. Any new knowledge only helps me, so yes I can agree.
ethteck 3 years ago
Well i have to disagree on your insights on vista, but i do agree with you on that, fixing computers are fun, that way your always prepared for a new problem.

i have one thing to say about this and maybe fix the error first you go to circt city and buy windows vista with windows vista sp1 already on the cd and then you download it and then at the end you have... windows vista and windows vista sp1 already on it =]! (windows vista rules!)
drewrocks3456 3 years ago
this is what you get if you have windows vista pre installed, all pre loaded operating systems is all crap thats why i bought vista on a DVD and now my PC runs faster than what it used to
jmfdrmustang 3 years ago
If you get a chance try to get into windows 7 beta testing group, it's the best OS I've used over: Ubuntu, tiger, leopard, 98, ME, xp and vista.
Resiroth 3 years ago
I'll definately look into that. Thanks.
ethteck 3 years ago
Vista used a restore point in your video. The install failed which rarely happens, but luckily enough there was a restore point so nothing was lost. As for updates leopard didn't really do much over tiger yet cost 100 dollars. It's nice getting free large updates to fix problems. Mac has problems too they just wait a year and charge 100 for it. My friend's camera is not being recognized by his brand new macbook. Maybe that will be fixed in snow leopard.
Resiroth 3 years ago
Alright. I...don't know what Macs had to do with this conversation or why you brought up 10.x in the first place, so if there's something I'm missing or I forgot I said please let me know. Anyway thanks for commenting.
ethteck 3 years ago
Ahahahah. Restore points useless? Are you that stupid? Also SP1 was reliability and updating core files not GUI. A service pack is a huge file, it's the equivalent of all the 10.x "operating systems" you buy. But for free. I've never had a problem installing vista service packs.
Resiroth 3 years ago
Sure restore points are useful, but when do you need to use them? I rarely do. I think I used one once many years ago on an older computer. Besides that, they have been of no use to me.
I never said the GUI would be updated in SP1. A service pack is huge (hundreds of megabytes), yes, but it's nowhere near the size of the OS itself.
I have no idea what "10.x 'operating systems' you buy" is, but I don't experience this problem anymore, so it doesn't matter.
ethteck 3 years ago
buy vista service pack 1 on a DVD so you dont have to waste 30 minutes installing a service pack, i did and i have NO PROBLEMES, never had a major problem for 10 months now
jmfdrmustang 3 years ago
It's not the way I installed it. It was something in my Vista setup that was causing the problem. Either way it's fixed now, so I don't care what the problem was.

need more ram
minitinny91 3 years ago
I have 2 GB. The normal Vista without SP1 works fine, so you're telling me I need to move up to 3 or 4 just to get SP1? Well it installed anyway, so I don't really know what you mean.
ethteck 3 years ago
I bought vista, I upgraded to sp1, and I didn't get the "Service Pack did not install" message. Why? Because I have a good computer and Vista rocks.
You have a shitty computer, that's why vista sucks.
Can you understand now? I hope so.
ale12396 3 years ago
No need to be a jerk. Can you tell me what about my computer is bad? I'm very curious as to why it wouldn't work.
ethteck 3 years ago
I don't know what, but something is shitty in your computer, that's why SP1 doesn't install.
ale12396 3 years ago
It installed after I reinstalled vista, so explain how "I have a shitty computer". God I hate it when people talk like this about computers.
I don't even care that you've subscribed to me. I'd rather have a gone subscriber than a mean subscriber.
ethteck 3 years ago
OK, if it worked, sorry for my bad comment.

It took like 10 minutes for me, and it actually worked. My Vista actually works. The only problem I've found so far is the annoying inquisition when you want to play any games or do just about anything.
tdawgheath2 3 years ago
That's UAC, and you can turn that off in the user accounts section of the control panel. At least I think we're talking about the same thing.
