Babe Ruth was the greatest mania, sensation, phoenonen etc... of a sport. The japanese called him the god of baseball. The house that Ruth built, the called shot, the curse, etc... His charisma drinking, hot dog eating, running with young 16 year olds, loved by so many. Alot of great baseball players have come and gone but something about mentioning the name Babe Ruth in baseball is like scared.

No radar gun back then. But it's not like they threw under-hand change-ups or anything. Even if there was a 2 or 3 mile difference between the average fastball, I still say modern hitters have it better.

And that's because they didn't have tape to analyize pitchers back then. It was all in their head, they had to memorize it.
