  • Those uniforms... It's like they're *trying* to look all aristocratic. If I didn't know this was a documentary, I'd think it was a comedy.

  • Comment removed

  • I remember going for my school uniform in 1986; - £112!

    (obviously, not at this school)

  • Thank god I don't go here and have my own personal tutors.

People pressume the rich go to places like Harrow. Wrong, people who go there are usually just middle class parents who are barely even millionaires. Most of them are laughable, trying to fit in with the aristocracy when none of them even have any history, apart from some pathetic excuse of a lawyer for a parent. Oh and the mothers are busy bodies.

  • @ForeverComplaining Having actually gone to Harrow i can speak from expereince. Its a case of parents working hard to enough to give their kids an amazing education. However its a mix with a lot of boys being from very successful families. and don't be such a cynic in the way you view it, some people work hard for there children's future to be bettered not for the personal gain of "fitting in to the aristocracy". Finally i can tell you about 60% of the boys parents went to public schools.

  • @ForeverComplaining Barely even millionaires! The bastards! Damn those common folk and their peasant ways!

  • Does anyone know the song/hymn at the very begining?? It's beautiful!

  • @HRHStewartIIRegina

'500 faces'..one of the songs a Shell sings to the rest of the school at School Songs

  • TheWackorocko What a pratt you are !

  • my brother goes to harrow

  • This is insane

  • @piano1996No1 Eton is not the most expensive school in england. Harrow and Etons school fees are both between 30,000-35,000 depending on extra curriculum activities. Mill field is far more expensive, being in excess of 40,000 a year. I go to harrow and for those people who think its full of "toffs" - it isnt. Harrow offer a huge amount of scholarships. You have the Arabs who have billions, but along side them you have boys with parents who own nothing more than a post office.

  • @ollien18 false info, westminster is the most expensive, millfield isnt as expensive as you say, its in the same boat as wellington, marlborough etc.

  • @ollien18 Exactly. These private schools are mostly full of cheap middle-class parents who aren't even rich. My sister went to st. Paul girls and none of them even have history or a title.

  • Seriously, I may be mistaken but from your comments you come across as the most irritating snob I could ever imagine to meet. I am lower middle class and go to an independent school and the last thing I want to do is try to fit in with the aristocracy. "...barely even millionaires." "...aren't even rich." "none of them even have history or a title."- be honest here, are you taking the piss?

  • Bunch of wankers, have to walk past them every day...

  • @thelastsaviour well you could go past in the sewer like every other dirty, smelly rat

  • Public school are the 9 in England which are the oldest

  • It would be good to know how James Robson got on during his time at Harrow and where he is now - has he achieved success as a result of an education at this establishment

  • @clrtomsett

I strongly disagree as I attended eton, which is the most prestigious and expensive school in Britain, I applied for oxford last year and did not get in even though I attained three As at A-level so I had to settle for Cambridge. Also Private schools are not about keeping the poor, poor as eton offers a great number of scholarships to ease the financial pressures of going to a top school for people that could not gain admission to eton in their current financial state.

  • @piano1996No1 I swear you can only apply for either Cambridge or Oxford, not both? In that case I fail to see how you 'settled' for Cambridge having been rejected by Oxford...

  • @KaMaCaRz

Because I took a year off after being rejected by oxford.

  • @piano1996No1 That would explain it. Not bad for your 'second choice' of uni ay.

  • @piano1996No1 Although I'm not sure about Eton being the most expensive school in England...

  • @KaMaCaRz

    Yes it is.

  • @piano1996No1 I'm pretty sure it's not (unless you are including hidden fees of some sort). According to the Tatler Schools Guide it's the fifth most expensive in the country at £9,954 a term. The Cheltenham Ladies’ College is the most expensive at £10,414 a term. A minimal difference really but it would indicate you are wrong to claim Eton is the most expensive school in Britain, however it almost certainly is the most prestigious.

  • @piano1996No1

    You can't apply for both..

  • @piano1996No1 "I applied for oxford last year and did not get in even though I attained three As at A-level so I had to settle for Cambridge" oh how the mighty have fallen, that really shows how the system doesn't favour the rich, you only got into Cambridge not Oxford.....prick.

  • I just got accepted to go to Harrow HK I am soooo excited! I'll be in the first year it opens! its both genders thank god I would have been heart broken if I couldn't have gone just because I was a girl! Sadly I will only have two years there then off to UNI sigh... looks great though going to have an indoor pool and everything! YAY bit expensive though so good thing I got in with a Scholarship never thought I'd be so happy to be a science nerd :D its going to be great!

  • @DoooodleGirl1995 Well Harrow HK is actually a "fake" branch of Harrow, as HS Beijing and Bangkok are, meaning that they aren't actually run and taught by teachers of "Harrovian" standards. This means that it probably isn't half as good as the real Harrow.

  • JUST TO CLARIFY. A public school is not a school run by the government. It is not given that name because of being more elite or costing more either, although that may be the case. Public schools were originally open to a greater number of people, they were not originally fee paying, that is, they were open to the public. Private schools are so called because they have always required fees and therefore have not been open to the public.

  • £1,756? I'm sure if they got some of the stuff elsewhere, e.g. the white shirts, it would have been less.

  • I went to this school for about 2 years, after that I had enough. I decided to go to a public school, atleast in public schools there is no stuck up gay boys.

  • @Shrijan You obviously didn't go to Harrow. Harrow IS a public school, and why on earth would you want to move from one of the best schools in the country to a normal state (if that's what you mean by public). I went there and you get your fair share of knobs, yut the majority of the guys I met there are normal and have probably got more pussy than you could manage in your lifetime. No need for that 'gay boys' comment, one of those ridiculous stereotypes that's thrown at single-sex schools.

  • @thooykhanz Don't try to act smart and say that Harrow is a public school, everyone knows that it IS a private school. What does the amount of pussy you get have to do with this? It just proves that you haven't attended this school.

Just go watch some bollywood movies, please for our sake.

  • @Shrijan lol...a public school is another word for a private, independant school in Britain. When people say..'a great public school' they mean a wealthy snobby private school like eton/harrow/rugby/marlborough. dont ask me why.

  • @Shrijan Have you? Also, as a matter of fact, Harrow IS a public school (by the public schools act of 1868, which include Charterhouse, Eton, Harrow, Merchant Taylors', Rugby, Shrewsbury, St. Paul's, Westminster and Winchester) (@lovetigerlily Marlborough is not a public school). What most people think as "public schools" (ie. schools that are free of charge) are called STATE SCHOOLS (eg. Colchester Grammar) in the UK. Don't just bullshit if you don't know what you're talking about.

  • "That comes to 1,756 pounds and 70p please." "Can I put it all on layby and drop by next wednesday to pick it up?"

  • How the hell will James's mum fit in with the other mums at school social occasions with an accent like that. She was probably snobbed by the other's.

  • What the..! James is working class!!!

  • Screw Harrow, Eton is the school to go to

  • Harry Porter or a Ferrari? I know which one I'd pick.

  • "You look very grown up!" the ridiculous mother says. 13 year olds aren not meant to be grown up dear. Have known stacks of women like her, all of them English and blinded by their own narcissism. I listen to their nonsense every day at my children's prep school Early boarding is neglect at the other end of the social scale. Public School isn't only about achieving good exam results though, the education is much broader than that and that's why so many ex Public School kids get into Oxbridge.

  • look at that cunt headmaster ahhaha cracks me up, the only thing you gain from this shit hole is worse grades than the comprehensive I went to, an unwarranted inflated ego and an ass that sounds like a wind tunnel, fucking toffs should all fuck off

  • I'm an old Harrow boy (Bradby's) and the years I spent there were some of the best of my life..

  • @thooykhanz thats your personal opinion though, most people don't enjoy a regular bumming you toff fag lol

  • Seven former Prime Ministers attended Harrow. Wonderful traditions :)

  • The uniform now is three grand and the fees r 30 grand! Go dddddrrrruuuurrrrriiiieeeeeessss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Screw eton

  • How does it feel? uncomfortable. aaww

  • thank goodness i went to eton lol

  • good thing about the private school I went to is the calibre of mothers were always outstanding. Every event was just crawling with milfs. Typical situation was geeky, nerdy, wealthy man marries extremely hot athletic woman and usually produces intelligent and sporty offspring that these schools love.

  • Eton Eton Eton.....Oi..Oi...Oi....

  • boarding isnt that scary I guess. my brother is studying in Eton and hes really happy somehow

  • @nadinelalalala yeah cos he's getting it in the ass each night!

  • Every single dad's dream for his son education.

  • The very Harrow concept is disghusting. Those guys stuck up in the 19th century.

  • @LemonOlga Nothing wrong with culture.

  • Do they really have to wear top hats and bring canes? What's the use of those as far as education is concerned? just asking.

  • I came from Harrow itself apart from alright schooling the people there were absolutely horrible!! Posh stuckup is an understatement. When people think of boarding schools they think of bullying? Yep cos its evidently always there! I wasn't a rich kid and was there by luck but there is no equality if you're not rich or your parents aren't a Lord or something... Even James Blunt was bullied whilst there! This school is horrible on the whole I would think.

  • @FidelisNox

Bollocks. Bet you didn't go Harrow.

  • @usainlightning haha i did actually... and it was hell!! so you can shuup!!

  • @FidelisNox How by luck did you go to Harrow school?

  • @FidelisNox The head master is simply bullshitting bullying is rife at these breeding grounds for pretentious & utterly privileged hooray henry, chinless wonders.little pricks. Many Join the army As guards officers of course, & become a "club within a club" Like the masons. They look down their stupid noses at any one , who unlike them hasnt been to a tossers academy, (seen the film "IF") These pricks, are every thing that is totally wrong with both the army & life. ..

  • @FidelisNox how exactly do u know he was bullied there?

  • @FidelisNox

I attended Eton and I was most certainly not one of the rich kids as my mother is a doctor and my father is a barrister, and I was not bulled.

  • i left state school with 5 highers and 3 advanced highers and am now studying at st andrews, tell me how public school is better when some people leave there great education with barely enough marks for them to become a binman

  • fucking toffs

  • @THETHOMASBOIS fucking chav scumbag wanker - it is a two way street

  • @THETHOMASBOIS Are you jealous or something equally as crude?

  • @THETHOMASBOIS thats a very large chip on that shoulder you should really take it off before you hurt yourself

  • i go to a school which costs 5000pounds a term

  • @TheWackorocko me too!! x

  • @TheWackorocko 3 sets of uniform

  • im 16 years old and have been to both private and state schools.

  • cool school but my school is a boarding school and its only like £3,800 a term so like dunno how many terms there are think its three that means its like £11,400 not £28k!!!! Looked at Harrow for my bro!!!!! Awesome school!!!!!x

  • i agree

  • wow why the fuck would u wont to go to a gay posh school 30k a year fuck dat bruv

  • @Commandok1l to get a good education?

  • @hugebigfatpie but its a boi only school so its a faggots dream and do you really want to be a posh upper class prick and the price wow its too much money!

  • @hugebigfatpie I went to a state school and got a good education and it didn't cost anything on top of taxes. Plus it actually prepared me for real life, not a fairytale world of top hats and canes. I'm all for upholding tradition when it serves a purpose but not when it's just for the sake it. Private education seems to me to be the choice of parents who either want a certain status or aren't confident that their child can do well without spending thousands. Pretty sad either way.

  • @s6456 private education is better than state education, if you look at most of the highest doctors, lawyers, judges, politicians etc you will see that many of them went to private schools. Many of Britain's prime ministers went to private schools. The fact that classes are less crowded, there is more emphasis on pupils achieving good grades and doing well means that the majority of privately educated pupils do better than state school pupils.

  • @hugebigfatpie - There are cultural and structural factors separate to qualifications that affect who gets what job, although I agree that qualifications are the main factor. However the boys in this video wearing top hats and carrying canes are being socialised into a lifestyle that is not typical of contemporary culture and that is my main issue. If you believe your child needs private education to excel, fair enough, but subjecting them to this pompous, elitist culture does them no favours.

  • @s6456 I think your just a bit jealous

  • @Commandok1l to speak proper English unlike you. bruv!!

  • @windowmm o my dayz man its ok for u cause ur posh arse can afford dis school fam but unlike me and many other manz we cant afford this shit its a waste of money bruv just go to a normal school and u get good grades still

  • Please post the rest of the series (beyond episode 3)!

  • Such a great school! wow! why is it only for boys lol!

  • for maximum concentration good work in line with the islamic tradition but harow can not be acused of segregation or can it?
