Eric does a great job singing Beth, but he seems a little pressured sing it because it is Peter's song. Gene probably told Eric..."either you sing it or you're fired Singer!" Eric had no choice!

@chavadonda I doubt thats the case. Gene never really liked the song. But Eric has been a drummere in many bands for a long time. Probably a little unsettling for him to be standing in front of a huge crowd, without his kit, singing lead.

When Pete left, I was glad he took this song with him. Never like it. But, if they want to put it back in the set, I love how they're all on stage playing it. No more stool, bouquet of flowers and cheesy backing tape. This is how they shouldda done it all along.

As for the rest, Beth, or Shock Me for that matter, aren't peter Criss or Ace Frehley solo songs. They're KISS songs, and KISS should be allowed to play anything from their catalogue, regardless of lineup.

@chaircitydude you're right if they would have had the stool,roses and backing tape-that would have been wrong.But everyone talking about sacrilege doesn't know that Ace or Peter have NEVER played a concert on their own where they did not play Deuce or Love Gun-(playing clubs/bars doesn't get much publicity) -Ace did not write Into the Night,2000 MAN or New York Groove .If Kiss walks out a plays Rock Soldiers or I Can't Stop The Rain,I'd say that would be wrong.

I can understand KISS wanting to perform Beth.  And I've always preferred the acoustic version ever since Phantom of the Park. But is DOES seem somewhat sacrilegious for someone other than Peter singing it with KISS. And I feel the same with TT singing Shock Me. These are Peter & Ace's signature songs.

If they plan on performing this in the States, they will stop as soon as they hear the first chorus of boos in protest.
