  • that is exactly how i hold my sticks , i never meant to it just how it happened

  • i love drumming... id love to be as good as you, ive got the ability, i just dont practice enough....damn!! i should!! u sound really good bro, id very proud of myself if i could drum like that.

  • The best drum solo on youtube Just here ... ♥

  • WOOOOOOOW AWESOMEEEEEEE!!!! :D

  • this is pretty cool

  • dude..... you rock.!

  • Nice.

  • I like it, sounds good to me

  • 'Too jazzy'?? What the fuck if that supposed to mean? haha

  • Too jazzy

  • @drumkid330 dude, there is no cookie-cutter style when it comes to how an instrument is played. if you're truly a musician, you should know this by now.lol

its the whole entire point of any style of art: ORIGINALITY. CREATIVITY. etc etc

  • @drumkid330 its not jazz..

  • why that weird grip dude?

  • @mohitgk Just the way my playing evolved man, I never really payed attention to form or grip, it's probably about time I did haha

  • @thedudeinthemoon You're doing pretty good. if it were me, I would continue with the grip you are using. You should play whatever feels good that you can actually play with. No need to change your style if you can already play. You are actually very close to "American Grip". ;)

  • @mohitgk ... typical youtuber... a fine drum solo, and all you can think of to say is something negative. twat. like, if u play u will know that every player does stuff differently, so if u know that, why the hell would you ask such a stupid question??

  • @beccullity dude i never mwntioned his drumming is bad!! its just that i found his grip weird!! PEACE!! :)

  • pretty good sound with just those 2 little cute cheap mics :/ ... can't wait to complete my drum kit and the recording hardware and get those and start trying them out.

  • what type of snare head do you have

  • @TheQswdm When I did this it was the standard Pearl head that came with the snare. That was actually a really good head for the drum.

  • @thedudeinthemoon do you still have it

  • Not bad

  • @95trigger He is quite good,

  • You're cute. ;)

    Just saaaaying. (:

  • I just downloaded this mp3 at instantmp3s..com

  • Good sound quality

  • awww thanks sooo much man that really helps to here it from someone who isnt trying to endorse "his" or "Hers" product... cheeeersss!!!

  • hey umm bought these today ( in the pair ) and i keep getting a high pitched cracking noise through them.. i was wondering if you could shed some light on this

    thanksss sooo much

    ... Jaryd:)

  • @Jaryddrummer159 Well it could be many things, so a few of the more common issues are -

Have you definitely got phantom power switched on?

Do you know that the cables you're using work fine with other microphones?

    Same for the mixer?

In other words, have you managed to make everything else work with another mic or set of mics?

The only way to be sure is to eliminate each possibility by swapping it, test everything in your chain and you might get closer to the problem

    Hope that helps

  • hey mate,

i bought the behringer c2 pair today. i set them up and plugged them all into my behringer xenyx mixer but i kepp getting a high pitched crackling when playing.. if you know anything about this that would be sooo helpfull

    thankyouu... jaryd:)

  • the Sound is Perfect!!

    How you set it?

  • sounds nice! groovy

  • hey man, great clean sound. im going to buy a pair of these mics, if i use two of these where would the best place to put them? thanks

  • @warhammerrokz14 Just experiment, you never know where the best place in any given room is going to be, so just set up your kit, and take some test recordings with the mics in different places, until you find something that works for you.

  • whats a good way to mix it?

  • Hello ! Nice drumming and AWESOME sound !!! I would like to know... I have about 6 mic for my drum recording and I connect them in a Yamaha mw12c but when it records on cubase there is only one track ( a mix of all 6 mic ) Is there anyway to have 6 track recording for each of my mic ? ( with a firewire or M-Audio Delta 66 or my yamaha Mw12c)

  • if your mixer/ interface allows you to choose different inputs for each track then yes, you need to have a firewire or Usb interface. I use M Audio fast track ultra with 4 mic inputs and Pro tools M Audio and it allows me to choose four inputs for 4 seperate tracks

  • Do you know if there's a softwatre that can allows me to have 6 seperate tracks with my Yamaha Mw12c ? ( Does Pro tools M audio is able to do that?)

  • Hi there! Nice drum sound. I see you were usind an M-Audio Delta card to record this. Did you ever find that you had and nasty crackling sounds in your recordings or playback when using this?

  • No, it didn't have the lowest noise floor in the world, but other than that it was great. Have you checked that the levels on the software and your computer aren't too high?

  • That's a good point it does seem to ease it off a bit when I turn down the faders but I have since discovered that any old m-audio kit is virtually useless in windows vista 64bit and windows7 64 bit! Since my last post I have been installing older versions of windows right back to xp! I have now given up and smashed my delta44 and midisport2x2 using a gibson les paul. Anyway, keep up the good work dude!

  • Hi, I discovered that it was a hardware conflict with my Zotac 9500GT graphics card causing the crackle. Don't put 1 of those in your system with a Delta!

  • hey there very nice sound n' playng, i'm traying to record some stuff myself but i'm having some trouble with the equipment required, i just got a delta 66, but truly, tha's all i've got, so, what's definitely needed for recording, a preamp? i just realized the delta 66 can't do the work by it self, so should i get a preamp now?. i would totally appreciated it if you can help me out with this

  • how do you hook up a mixer to a computer...cables ant etc??

  • I updated the info box, the signal chain has to be mic - preamp - A/D (soundcard or interface) - recording software. So 1 mic, a small firewire interface and some recording software would be enough, but I can't help you with the cables because not all equipment uses the same connectors...

  • Your snare sounds wicked =]

  • Awesome! i heard some jazz in there too

  • You have a nice feel. Simple and Sweet. I love it. Great sounding drums too.

  • How high did you placed your mic?

  • About at the level of the top of the floor tom. You can see it at the start of the video.

  • I like it alot i mean the sound of the snare, cymbals and drums also sound very good. Good keeping the beat and sounds like ur counting out 32nd's. Oh yes im a 13 year drummer started 2 years ago and i hit the drums much 2 hard and i suck at solo's wat would u recommend? Anyways love the solo very nice job! 2 thums up!!!

  • Thanks. I think at your stage your goal should be looking for inspiration. What drives you as a drummer? Cos there is nothing wrong with the desire to hit things hard with sticks lol. But personally, I enjoy pushing my beats as loose as possible without letting them be sloppy. That's just what I get a kick from, and if you find out what drives you, you will always be headed in a direction that suits you. Keep at it!

  • Superb drumming!

And it sounds amazing, excellent micing technique! I gotta get myself two of these behringer mics!

  • damn thats great work!

  • cool sound, reminds me of bonham. I want to try micing like this (really simple micing) for one of the folkish songs on our album. any tips?

  • Thanks a lot man, Bonham is an inspiration. And yeah, the top tip is experimentation. It's like trying to find a treasure chest on a desert island lol, there's a sweet spot somewhere but you'll never find it until you look. Good luck with your recording.

  • Hey dude I liked it a lot, nice speed on your rolls and your feet. Do you have a double pedal or are you doing doubles with one foot?

  • Thanks man, In this video there's only a single pedal. I like it that way to be honest... I always thought it produced more natural beats.

  • i like it and yeah, it does sound pretty good just with the one mic.

  • Your style is really good, with all the rolls and unique footwork.

  • ey man, what type of heads do you use? And other then that how did you make your set sound so good?

  • i know sounds so good

  • -puking-

  • would protools work okay for this?

because i dont have enought money to buy cubase or logic

  • Pro Tools is the industry standard for audio recording, and would be absolutely fine for something like this. I assume you're talking about LE or M-Powered though, as HD is a LOT more expensive than either Cubase or Logic. By the way, both those programs do come in stripped down versions, and as far as I know, they're both less expensive than the Pro Tools LE & M-Powered gear.

  • that sounds so good for just 1 mic. why would you want more without going to a studio? i've got the same set up and can't get it nearly as good as that. you must have found the perfect positioning. plus your drums sound tuned to perfection.

  • Your fills fall off of the 6 feel almost everytime, try workin with a metronome. Good shit.

  • Nice.

  • Pretty god sir : )

  • and toms for that matter

  • Both Evans Genera G2 clear, stock resonant heads, tuned low. The toms are only 10 and 14 inches respectively, but I try to get the biggest sound possible out of them.

  • how is your bass tuned?

  • Quite low, it's an Evans EMAD coated head, using a plastic beater.

  • what kinda cymbals ?

  • Stagg Vintage Bronze cymbals. They don't sound like that in real life though TBH, they just record quite well.

  • this is sick as

  • Nice sound, but your fills could use some work, especially when trying to hold the groove together after the fills happen.

  • Great work man! Subbed n 5*ed!

  • Thanks for the kind words dude :) glad you enjoyed

  • What do you play?? I play piano drums, guitar and am just learning how to sing. It's good as to know more than one. We're the ones that are gonna be future rockstars!

I think I'm going to buy an art pac preamp and some (not too expensive) condensor mic.

And then eventually a dbx 266xl compressor, iv heard good things about those.

  • not that urs aren't btw

  • You could get away with this being a professional sound I reckon, it would sound great as with perfectly tuned drums.

  • ahah thats awesome you sounds like me but your fills are kewl nice, i like your style

  • my school's got a stage custom, sounds quite awesome.

  • Is that a Pearl Master Series?

  • Yamaha Stage Custom Advantage, with a Pearl Export Radical snare drum...

  • thats a nice sounding kit, or just an amazingly good audio on the mic. good solo

  • that was amazing dude! i'm also a drummer, i'm on grade 5, there was some awsome random bits in the solo. nice one dude!

  • the drums sound really well.

    good job.

  • and what hats are those??

  • They are Stagg Vintage Bronze 13" hats. They don't sound anywhere near as good in real life I'm afraid, although they're very inexpensive so they made a good investment for recording.

  • man that snare drum sounds MEATEY!!!!

  • you should see his cock!

  • hmmm

you know...i really don't want to...thank you for the offer.........i think?

  • No Yooouur gay! Really gay! In fact I will ask youtube for a 'mark comment as GAY' button just for you. 'mark comment as spam' isn't gay enough for you! Good day to you sir!!!!!??!!

  • i ordered a pair of c2s the other day. it was this vid that made me decide to get some when i saw it a few months back. im excited

  • oh yh ok soz i didnt see vid descrip. kl=D

  • that sounds fuckin amasing!! do u use mics?

  • hey can u help me? ok i just my drum set and i want to know how to get that good as i lay dying sound in the bas. what do i do? do i put a blanket or somthing in the bass? i need major help ..plzzzzzzz reply

  • i put a pillow in mine

  • Well, a lot of metal drummers use their kick drums to trigger an additional sample, which gives them that razor sharp attack and perfect bass, but things you can do to help include: - putting a pillow or blanket in the drum - changing the head - a clear 2 ply head will most likely give you the sound character you're looking for - experiment with the timing, the more experienced you are at it, the more sounds you'll be able to get out of your kick. Hope that helps...

  • i use a video converter witch can make sound or videos really high def it cuts out the distortion and all that with out affecting the music , use i use a camera to

  • very nice.. very crisp! : ) haha.. keep up the great work

  • did you just use the behringer C2 mics, and if so, how did you set them up? Only im thinking of buying some to record drums with.

  • There is only 1 microphone, and it is indeed a Behringer C2, you can just make it out next to my right elbow... It's a strange position, I know, but it sounded better than any of the 'classic' positions, so I just went for it. The C2s are great mics, very versatile indeed, but if you want them specificall for recording drums then depending on your budget I'd imagine there are plenty of contenders out there.

  • thanks, i bought some c2s last week and ive only just seen your comment, but I had it set up EXACTLY THE SAME, just one above my right elbow, and it sounds great!

  • hey dude,do u have any idea on how to make drumming sound better,on like movie maker, like,a way 2 make it sound nicer, cuz, wen i film with my camera,it sounds pretty crappy XD

  • well to be honest, you're never going to get the results that you want until you're using proper microphones and preamps, the sound from a camera won't do it. But to improve, you could try: Covering the camera's microphone with something that stops the distortion, like clothes or something (experimentation is the key)

Getting some free audio editing equipment like Audacity and doing some basic processing to give the sound a little facelift.

    Hope that helps

  • thx bro, i'll b sure 2 try it out,i posted on video of my drummin and my friend play guitar, if u wanna chek it(not that great, im a beginner :P and i have a pretyy crappy set, im hoppin 2 get a new one 4 xmas XD),but the camera makes everything sound kinda weird,so,im definetly gunna use ur tips 4 the next time i film stuff

  • love the sound of ur snare

  • dude!!!!!you have to be kidding! thats amazing for only one mic!!!!!

  • sick!

  • Then again at 1:14. Dude, It could be the spirit of your grandma telling you to clean your house. Just kidding bro. Nice job.

  • Thanks dude, and actually she just shouts at me down the phone about it, no spiritual happenings at all!

  • Is that a ghost that flies by the bass drum at 20 seconds? Weird..

  • you're very, very good. amazing technique. and that's a pretty great setup you have going for audio. keep up the amazing work. :)

  • Thanks, I have a second video up now, if you dig this one it should be right up your street, so check it out.

  • how do u make ur toms sound so powerful?

  • Well there's no single correct answer to that, but a few tips for beefing up your tom sound would be: - Find some heads that suit your drums. Clear, 2 ply heads often sound the most powerful, in my case Evans G2 Clear - Practice tuning, and try to get the toms tuned as low as can sound good. - Also, try damping the outside edge of the top heads with some moongel or tissue & tape, this will add focus and depth.

  • that room, what a dump

  • Well maybe you should come round and tidy it up then you big gay bear! Shame on you and all your gay bear deeds! :-(

  • haha

  • daaaaaaang nice set and mics

  • Nice vid dude! Ur an awesome drummer man, gonna go buy a pair of C2s now!

  • awsome man!!!

  • are they stage custom??They are great!!

  • Nice, i'll buy a pair of C2 :D

  • Good man ;) , Please let me be the first to know if you make some tutorials ;) , Thanks alot

  • Hey you should put in some tutorials for that beat and them fills , you would get loads of applause if you explain them propley to other people :D Ya no like all saying about sixteeth triplets and shit like that :P , just pure or saying what to hit ;) , Good drumming

  • Thanks dude, good idea, guess I'd better get the drum kit set up ;-)

  • sweet

  • great tech! Do you play in some kind a band or something?;)

  • I do all sorts of stuff, I'm sort of in between bands right now... you?

  • Just got into a new band, we have a Very bad vid on youtube, but it's so sucky that i could cry by it!:O (playing drums to) But it very nice;)

  • AMAZING self taught?

  • Good Guess ;)

  • sounds real good!! is this just the one mic???? can you record guitar and vocals fine with that mic?? how do you get your toms to sound so good!?

  • Thank you, Yes there is only one microphone here, a Behringer C2. I have to say this microphone can cover many different roles well, and has particuarly become a favourite of mine for acoustic guitar (the stereo pair that it comes in gets a lovely sound). It can do vocals too, although not quite as well. I guess the toms sound that way just beause that's how I tune them...

  • hey man, awsome mics, im going to purchase theese along with a pack of cheap superlux mics and a mixing board, should get a good sound. awsum vid

  • Thanks very much, enjoy the microphones ;)

  • You know what, I actually got the UB1832FX too in addition to the C2s. I'm a television composer without a big studio and you've inspired me for my own recordings.

  • Go for it dude, there has never been a better time to go into making music from the home.

  • I ordered a set of C2s just based off of this video. You sold me on em bro. I too play a Stage Custom Advantage set. Do you have any kind of muffling/studio rings on your toms? I've always had a rough time getting that deep, throaty sound out of my toms (I have the fusion set and it looks like you do too). Do you have your heads tuned loose?

  • Glad you liked the vid man. Yea i know what you mean it can be difficult to get the right sound out of the toms. In this video, I think there's a bit of tissue taped somewhere near the enge of each tom head, and they're tuned pretty close to loose.

  • what does phanmtom power do?

  • Phantom power is electricity going to the microphone through the cable. Some microphones (any which are described as a 'condenser' of any kind) need an electrical supply to power them. So obviously if you want to use a 'condenser' mic you need something that can get phantom power to it!

  • one mic?!?! shit it sounds so so good!!!! i'm a looking into them

  • I am trying this with our drummer today!!

  • yo thats so sick, i cant beleieve u got asuch a great sound out of one mic!

  • Thanks dude, I think that in this case just using one mic was actually the secret weapon - two would have added too much of the room detail...

  • It wasn't clear to me what mic you're using. Is it the Behringer C2? By the way great sound and great playing. You have good technique and timing.

  • Yeah it was a C2, I have been really impressed with these, had them about a year, and they sound good on quite a lot of things...

  • what kind of cymbals are those...

  • They are Stagg Vintage Bronze cymbals. They sound nasty in real life, but they come through well on recordings I think. I have some Sabians too, but my drummer is using them right now.

  • so you have two mics pointing towards the kick & snare?

  • Actually It's just one mic, you can see it to the side of my right arm, had to be careful not to hit it! the real challenge is pointing it in just the right place to get both the kick and snare, but it's actually refreshingly simple to do because once you've found a good place that's it, you're done...

  • Thanks.

I have a problem trying to record drums..its always too loud...like its clipping constantly..how do i fix it

  • use as few mics as you can....im startin recording in a home studio in my basement and that is the advise i got from alot of videos and stuff

  • Lower the gain on your preamp, use a pad if necessary. You may also want to try to get the microphone farther from the drums.

  • i just bought a pair

  • sounds jazzy haha.

  • That is the best sound I've heard on YouTube as far as miking. It sounds even better than the so-called "well miked" kits/examples on here. Any sour critique or other suggestions on your sound......well, they can just flake off like dried crap on a barn floor! Naw, man, this is seriously good stuff...both the miking and the drumming. ; ) ~G.

  • I'm getting the sound to play through my computer speakers but I can't record it. Anybody know what's wrong?

  • so with audio buddy.

what cables do I need to get the sound in my computer?

  • sweet beat thats the kind of music i like nnniiiiiccceee kit.

  • hey, cool drumming dude.. can you tell me the specs of your kit? :D

  • Thanks dude, sure thing. The kick and toms are Yamaha Stage Custom Advantage, Snare is Pearl Export Radical, all with evans heads, and the cymbals are some old stagg ones I keep around.

  • good job :P
