the clay bar kit is boss if you have a black car. if you want the blackest of black, get the clay bar kit plus meguiars gold class wax. mirror black ultra slick finish. i also used it on a friends navy blue mazda 3 which hadnt been waxed in 3 years and the clay bar + gold class wax made it almost black. sweet stuff
@meguiarsasia a glaze is just that... a glaze, its only made to fill in the scratches. Start with a medium compound with a double sided #1 wool pad (white) once most of the swirls or scratches are removed, move to a glaze as in perfect-it #05996 and a #2 pad, wool (yellow) last step is the same 05996 with the black foam pad. To help the remaining swirls you can always use a D.A with the black foam pad, you have to cut it to size and have the proper backing plate. I love Meguires, but also 3M
@loveja1 I forgot to say that with the D.A you have to use a liquid wax, but make sure the paint is not fresh (30 days). But I also have an argument with that myself. I was a pro body shop detailer with tons of show cars under my belt. But all the years I detailed I have never seen wax actually harm fresh paint. If the car ever came back to us, there was usually an issue with the application of the paint or with the paint itself.
@MrRichierich1990 if your not using a direct action buffer or random orbital thats your first problem. if you didnt clay before you buffed your just creating new swirl marks. you could be using too heavy of a compound or buffing too fast, try 1200-1400 rpm first then go over a second time at 1000. fyi the only way to prevent swirls is to clay after every wash.
@robert1984nor ... it shouldnt take you 30 minutes to clay bar your car unless youve never done it before ... takes me around 10 minutes to do my whole "full size" monte carlo
meguiars is the best, I use all his products. I have the smooth surface clay bar kit, yellow wax, cleaner wax, and paint cleaner. I used the paint cleaner last week and holy crap, my car paint is hella reflective and looks super clear.
He would be a damn good car salesman, after watching this I ended up buying Maguars stuff.

@drjesus616 If it only takes you 10 minutes you aren't doing it correctly.

Wow, I'm a moron! I never knew that Meguiar's was from this dude...I always thought that he was just the host of the show "Car Crazy".
I'm planning on buying that stuff, too. I just don't think that polishing a truck with a long bed will take a half an hour. :(

THIS STUFF IS GODLY!!! My sliver car looks nearly as good as my neighbor's polished black corvette
