  • i used to be able to do 5 cuts in less than 1 second, but then I took an arrow to the knee

  • who else is tired of arrow to the knee jokes?

  • @futileAURA only you!

  • sucks that they have to do this in the gym of a school...

  • practical skills for the real world.

  • Wtf? I can cut stuff too. I want to see live sword sparring :D WHAT HAPPENED TO THE GOOD OLD DAYS. Lol.

  • nice cutting, good job kid!

  • watch?v=NhsBoL8U3go <--- A lot faster =]

  • @RaiAntou of course he was faster. he did only 3 cuts

  • @1234561234aa Even if you count only the first three cuts of Mr Aaron, Sakasai sensei is still faster.

  • @RaiAntou true

  • what company do you guys usually get your katanas from?

  • Wipe your katana off! You don't want water in your saya!!! That thing will RUST

  • No YouTube video involving martial arts is ever free of comment by vitriolic purists. Let's not forsake the spirit of the Way for its letter, shall we? Lighten up.

  • @BenchHobby5468 Depends on your definition of fake sword. Fake sword to some could mean a cardboard sword and to others, any none hand-made katana.

  • @BenchHobby5468 yes i could hahahhaha

  • Bad chiburui.

  • @MumtazKhan991 Its BS comments like these that make people not put up more sword videos.

Wtf is a chiburui? He cut a damn mat up, what else could you ask for?

"OHH HIS HAND WASNT AT A 59.234 DEGREE ANGLE AT HIS TAMAYAMANPA HE IS A DISCRACEFULL SWORDSMAN."

  • samurai wannabe...

  • Seriously what's with all the racism? If anything, most western swordsman actually have an ADVANTAGE over most Asian swordsman due to their larger stature. This kid is no prodigy but he certainly isn't bad. Just as capable as any Japanese or Chinese boy of that age.

  • @Struedelmuffin I was generalizing, I never said foreigners are worse or better. I was simply saying these foreigners that I've seen. Also, larger is not better. More advanced cellphones are smaller in size.

  • @Struedelmuffin size doesnt mean shit. Being larger just means your a bigger target. he is just as capable as any other race i will agree with you on that.

  • I am getting disgusted of these videso by these foreigners who try to look cool cutting a still object and show only 1 of 10 attempts.

  • @SpicyHam i am getting disgusted by racist people who judge and think someones automatically a better martial artist because of where they are born

  • @SpicyHam Yeah, I cut these stuff too but I upload everything I filmed =)

  • @SpicyHam Hmmm, i guess you haven't seen any of his other videos. He's actually pretty skilled for someone who probably didn't do this for 6-10 hours a day. I assume since you're putting him down you think you're better, pics or it didn't happen.

  • @1C431USAF yes, my great grand father used to fight Japanese forces in world war II. He was a shipment manager, that managed ammunitions and trucks. His team managed to loot a japanese compound. he still has 4 japanese work boots and 1 quality samurai sword in his house.

  • @SpicyHam lol, I'm Chinese and one of my relatives was a spy lol

  • @1C431USAF no idea, my grandparents are all chinese from regions 300 km west of Shanghai

  • @1C431USAF I guess so

  • Everything was about honor back then, now it's just kill kill kill

  • @epicduckeh6 Actually, in truth it was more like this back then

Honor, KILL KILL KILL KILL, RAPE, RAPE, PILLAGE, PILLAGE

  • @Meixafuhellzman2 but now its more fucked up x3

  • as a real modern day samurai, I am sick of these bad videos of someone cutting a still object, you try cut a moving object, fool. you won't even have time to see which way he is going.

  • i've beaten that time record before, just that I haven't been in a competition and recorded

  • Yup, I have beaten this record. =)

  • press for repeatedly, jack off!

  • What a waste of bamboo

  • you know, that's actually pretty difficult, I have never tried but I have seen others try and not even be able to hit through 1

  • i'm tearing up T_T... im so proud that we whites can pwn straw mats just as good as asians.

  • @EvilDarkJackel skirts are part of the psychological warfare , you flash your arse to you enemies to annoy 'em .

  • @sewagedweller Erm the hakama he's wearing isn't the skirt type -_-...

  • @Soundaholic92 : ( , he should wear a miniskirt it gives +5 to str and +4 to dex

  • @sewagedweller you forgot it gives -20 chr too

  • @sewagedweller oh and a +10 to charisma :P

  • @EvilDarkJackel there is nothing unmanly about wearing a skirt .....

  • It looks so easy... But I'm sure it's not.

  • By the tine he can even pull out his blade, my throwing knife would be through his throat gf white shit

  • @kOofdarknes

    Yeah, I'm sure.

  • I can do that with my penis

  • this kid sucks

  • White people doing asian tricks just doesn't look as elegant, even if the moves are perfect.

  • @Reconite small penis makes you elegant ?

  • i can put 4 rounds in your ass with my ak47 even faster than that

  • Why would anyone lie about a time frame on a youtube video? You can sit there and watch as 2-3 seconds go by while he is cutting. No way is that 1.4 seconds.

  • @Shademastermcc Cut starts at 0:10 and is over by 0:12 who's the liar? I'd need a better player that shows milliseconds to say for sure exactly how fast it was, but it was clearly less than 2 seconds.

  • the kid looks annoying but the cuts were good.

  • What's the purpose of cutting a bamboo with a sword?

  • @MrElucidate To develop cutting technique. It's harder than it looks to get cuts like that, without causing serious damage to the blade or it's edge, besides, it's no longer legal to use corpses as cutting targets, and cutting those mats is almost the equivalent, and I repeat, ALMOST, to cut bone and flesh. And by the way, those are tatami mats, not bamboo.

  • Would love to see him on Iron Chef.

  • he's white

  • @amessenger4god78

hmmm, I wonder what gave that away

  • the first ,shoud be ,the first that left the sareb

  • lol @ top 2 comments

  • Aaron McCloud of the clan McCloud

  • so each Cut is 1.4 seconds am i correct?

  • @driftmaniac765 no, the 4 cuts in their entirety are 1.4 seconds so each cut was approximately .35 seconds

  • @gaaraofthesandfall ah i see. Thanks.

  • @driftmaniac765 no problem, just trying to help out.

  • @driftmaniac765 idiot

  • @falthy3 someone clearly helped me with my question, i'm new to seeing this so don't call me an idiot cause it takes one to know one. Looks like your looking for the wrong person. "idiot."

  • all i got to say to everyone who ses thats slow try actually swinging one of those things there heavyer then they look trust me

  • I've seen Rosie O'donell move faster on a treadmill.

  • Quantity over quality for this kid, eh ?

If it was an arm would he achieve even 1 cut ?

    Heh, very doubtful.

  • @DownNWO given the fact that the tatami roll was designed to replicate the sensation and difficulty of cutting a limb, I'd say he would have a good chance of cutting through. That's why tameshigiri was created: to test swords. It's not just some fancy "how fast can I move" bullshit.

  • @walatalalaw Are you sure that this tatami is a replica of a limb ?

Isn't it supposed to have a bamboo in the middle ?

Full too much of bullshit, are you ?

  • i understand that he has correct form and all but it does look slow. but i also no that that "slow" swing could take my arm off

  • fucking awesome.

Oh, trolls, that's a little faster than your normal baseball bat swing. NOW YOU TRY DOING IT PLUS THE -----RIGHT-----TECHNIQUE (ANGLE, FOOTWORK, WEIGHT PLACEMENT, ETC). Oh yea, all that JUST FOR ONE CUT. Capitche?

  • 2:25

  • just pause it when the blade is near the stick... sec 0.10. last cut it just past 0.11 so...

  • its faster one down the middle then the side :D

  • i can do that. hold my beer

  • @brandonewcomb rofl nice dude

  • @brandonewcomb haha, well I CAN do that, but not that well. Very nice.

  • What's the world record?

  • i can do that in -1.4 seconds

  • Very nice.

  • i can stab him eight times in 1.4 seconds

  • @andresrojas22 please give us all a break, this guy is a well established practitioner of kenjutsu and also a tameshigiri world champion, if you came anyware neer him with a knife you would be dead before you even have a chance scream for help.

  • @andresrojas22 so i can shoot him 15 times in 1.4 seconds...keep it gangsta lol jokes

  • @elspiclatino Lol, you never know MAYBE he can cut your bullets in half. haha jk.

  • @gexxy47 dont be silly only chuck norris can do that

  • @TheMadDogClan its timed as hes first cut.... 10 - end of 11 seconds is a legit 1.4 use the time of the video instead of your bad counting skills..

  • i can do that with my penis.

  • @TheMadDogClan i agree

  • i think that, actually, i can do just two hit... it's 3 years that i stopped doing kendo...

  • @TheEcnephias and me about 5 years. it sucks doesn't it?

  • nice

  • yeah i think he s very good!you can do the first cut but the second and the fourth are not so easy(at least with a nice form)..

he s talented i wish i can be so good one day!

  • Nice cuts, maintained composure despite his objective.

In martial arts fast is good, correct is essential.

  • No way

  • The execution is the most important part, and he did that fantastically. Now it wasn't REALLY 1.4 seconds, but it was still really fast considering each cut was of very similar size and angle. I'd like to see any of the braggarts here do it.

  • thats actually impressive as hell, especially when you consider that bamboo mat is a good substitute for a human limb O_O

  • @MrAbawmidabull lol i agree with you

Nice very well done i like this vid ^^

  • His name is Aaron McCloud. Son of Duncan McCloud...The Highlander.

  • @BassmasterD There can be only one Connor MacLeod

  • @BassmasterD there can be only one

  • @BassmasterD really???

  • could sombody reply me ore send me a message an what this sport is called pls

very nice skills you got there imo

  • you mean 4 cuts in 22 seconds

  • @softndsmooth you gotta be kidding us all...right?

  • @mikevmpr3 Lol he took a while dude, it was not a second I can tell you that.

  • he did a nice job

  • his technic reminds me of the Tsubame Gaeshi of kojiro, he has a good technique there

  • taht was crazy

  • @ValarMorgoth, what's wrong with his skill? those were very consistent cuts, all at the same angle and everything. you can nitpick over his skill all you want, but i saw four accurate cuts that would certainly inflict some serious pain on an enemy, and quickly too.

  • What katana are you using?

  • He didn't look bad at all. I don't necessarily agree with this being faster than 1.4 seconds, but it's not a bad vid at all. Form was good, cuts were more than acceptable, good job!

  • You wouldn't want to go faster than that.... and you wouldn't have to. Beautiful to see.

  • that does not have to be the case smokintheblaze. His form is what makes him lethal but slower than some other styles. It is perfectly executed though.

  • Swing, swing, swing, swing, u dont need form or training, i do this to brick walls all day with my hammer.

  • @OMGCREATE

I don't event take anykind of Japanese sword are and even I can see that every cut by the weilder was parrallel to the previous cut and every peice cut was of equal length.

  • @OMGCREATE ur a jack ass

  • It might be fast but I prefer skill instead of speed .....

  • @ValarMorgoth WTF you on about to get a clean cut takes skill in the first place, have you ever seen an amateur attempt this? It is funny!

  • @Plekky08 Sure, this is what an amateur would call a clean cut. It is funny!

  • Clean cuts. Not as fast as I've seen, but the form is excellent.

  • ...a little slow on the draw, eh partner? lol...I kid, I kid

  • nothing important

  • I tried this on a full 2 litter bottle of soda with my finest katana. The sword bent into an L shape around the bottle without cutting the bottle. I was most displeased when the guy at the flea market would not give me a refund.

  • @BRAVAVICTA well 1. u bout it from the flea market. it was obviously a peice. too. u must have cut wrong. the only time a sword is going to bend is if ur form is in correct.

  • @deathspawn54 obviously a sarcastic joke seeing the sword he called his 'finest' was from the flea market. learn to pick up on these things

  • It looks easy.. ( I know it doesn't ) But it just looks easy :)

I wish I had a katana.. or any sharp metal..

I'll do experiments in home and play with it... :D

Like cutting tomatoes and slicing Jello :)

  • хуйня полная я ито быстрей ету хрень порубаю

  • fast but not 1.4 seconds

  • Very impressive, that audience is right to applaud.

  • oh man 4 cuts in 1.4 seconds hes a fucking pro lmao, i was in aikiddo when i was younger from when i was 8 to 17 and to this day i still use my katana and practice on bambo wraps as the one seen here and ive benn times n ive done 6 cuts in 2.1 seconds tell this guy to try it.

  • @SouthFloridaBiker Post up a video and join a fucking club, asswipe.

  • @SouthFloridaBiker you do realize that is the exact same speed as what he did in the video.

  • @ cloudxiiibc: its true, video fail, but u can make 4 cuts in this time, but this one, was fail ^^ xD

  • 1.4s 4cut??no deceive us please. there are more than 2s. the first cut and last cut is fail. he cut the rubber band

  • I love the fact that his last name is Mccloud like the guy in the Highlander :) nice cuts by the way.

  • @usceltics You can`t be a samurai. You have to be born as samurai

  • oh sorry

  • @usceltics But he`s good

  • i dunno looks pretty easy to me

  • i dont know too!but he`s pretty fast to me...!

  • ur dumb go away

  • lmao

  • if you are speaking of the satsuma samurai there was another way than being born into the nobility of the samurai class, and that was to prove yourself in battle and work your way up through the ranks

  • @NallePu83 Who do you think made the samurai, I have to say it wasn't a samurai.

    : )

  • bad angles of cuts, should be about 50 degrees

  • is this iaido contest?

  • timing was nice, and form was correct. everyone else who's talking crap saying that he's slow would probably cut themselves trying this.

and that was a nice looking sword that he has.

  • i'd also like to see them re-sheath it without slicing their fingers off.

  • Very nice !! His calm confidence is the catalyst for his quick cuts.

If you want to see a similar stunt, go to my channel & check out the video clip "Machete throw fail - tanto save"

After the machete i throw fails to stick i make a left handed transition draw then cut, stab, stab, cut... into a TREE at full speed....in roughly the same time.

Just as in traditional Tameshigiri, such a practice requires perfect hasuji, as if a focus failure is made it can result in damage to me or the blade

  • INCREDIBLE! This man, could be the next James Williams. Keep going, you'll get there.

  • it is 1.4 seconds. try counting like this. "0, 1" instead of what most people would do "1, 2"

  • the zero causes so much trouble:P

also when people count down... 3 2 1 GO!!!

but even then they forget the 0.

  • Whoa. Now that's what I call speed!

  • i think it was 2 seconds...it looks like this guy is slow but he's doing everything very properly

  • looked more like 2or 3 seconds

  • pretty cool, idk if it was 1.4 secs, but close enuff -_-'

  • The ones talking about speed here.... You have NEVER swinged a sword before, right ?

A katana weights between 800g ( 1.7lb )and 1300g ( 2.8lb ). Try to swing it 4 times in 1.4, or even 2 sec, and get 4 clean cuts on one of those dummies... And may I remind you this guy is 17years old ??? He doesn't have the strength of a 35yo -_-

  • Mmmmm it's more like 1.8 or 1.9, almost 2secs, but kinda good anyway... Most people should say it's slow, but it may be hard to do so.

  • Those who get 2 secs probably counts in their head and dont know that timing begins from 0, not from 1

  • I don't know how the hell you people are counting that he's over 2 seconds long. Just grab a goddamn chronometer and press on his first and last strike, you'll get 1.4 seconds.

  • That's slow as shit!

  • He didn't do any nukitsuke, showed no zanshin, no respect for the sword... the No-to was irrespectful of the situation...Clearly not a Iaido background... maybe Battodoo?

  • it was atleast 2 seconds, not 1...

  • Hmm...

it's probably harder than it looks.

  • fast? pffft! please...the guy cant even cut from drawing the blade, you know how much faster it could have been?

  • he's not supposed to draw the blade for this, jeez when will people relize this, also cutting from a draw unless performed correctly will leave you open most of the time

  • he's supposed to be swinging it fast so he goes through it effortlessly, and yes we know people can cut them faster then this, but I want you to prove your statement, you be way faster then this dude, prove your point yourself, and have you ever handled a real sword? and one that's properly balance as well
