"Thus says the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God." Isaiah 44:6
...But, the truth is that I believe Christ came to earth, suffered for my sins, died for me (and everyone else), and that the only way to the Father is through him. I believe that it is through his grace that we will be saved, we cannot do anything to save ourselves, it is only through him that we can be saved. If this does not represent the definition of "Christian" than so be it. Define it however you want.
I think this whole argument is kind of childish. First of all, I don't get why people are so concerned about what other people think of them. Honestly, I am LDS and if you want to say that I am not "Christian" just because I don't believe in the Trinity or however else you want to define "Christian" than go right ahead. To me, its the same as saying I'm not Catholic or a Born Again Christian, or a baptist, that is all true...
@bellyzbad The Bible does have some stuff in it that may seem too far fetched for the athiest, but Christ is the way the truth and the only way to get to Heaven. Talking snakes - well yeah it does sound very strange, I agree.
@bellyzbad I refuse to exept other religious beliefs other than Christianity, mainly becuase of healings, i've been healed of a few things in the past, I have had experiances in the church as well, without these then I can't really answer your question i'm not a bible teacher and have never studied the theology side of it, one of the reasons is why most people today are confused what to believe in, too many religions ect. who think they are Christian but but have altered the bible to suit them..
Selfless people, existed in our histories who have had impressive enough lives to have left their belief system behind--To make the decision that smith did not have a spiritual manifestation that empowered him, doesn't have a lot of logic, especially since you were not present in those times, nor raised in a mormon community. Mormanism, has changed with time, as our magnitudes of literacy have changed, like all other faiths, mostly, to condem something you have truely not studied, questionable..
No one would be much different from one another if they had lived each others life, respect and acceptance of all peoples without judgement is all we can do if we make decisions with access to the variables. The author of this video only exposes each one of us has a different understanding of the word " God " from complete disbelief, to utter belief, and all in between, before and after
Mornonism is a false religion, I read a book about different religions and Mormonism is one of the most bizzare, how on earth can Mormons call themselves Christian?
(Deuteronomy 22:28-29 NLT) If a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged, he must pay fifty pieces of silver to her father. Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her, and he will never be allowed to divorce her.
@bellyzbad I could think of other measures for rape of my sisters-cousins-mothers, but, consideridering the mental disorder present to commit such an act, It might be better for the violator to receive phychiatric help for his aberrant hormone and belief system. although if he were murdered at the hand of his victim or family, I see no crime
@bellyzbad yes I don't agree with it, that is passed, it's an old testament rule, perhaps it may have been misinterpreted, it's a religious law definatley not from God. It's the new Testamnet now Jesus has done away with that.
In all fairness, Mormons are trying to be Christian, but they keep reading the wrong instructions.
