  • It's fascintaing; the basics of White Crane, Yong Chun, and Bai Mei boxing look almost identical- Does anyone here know when these systems began to diverge? Or was it an example of "covergent evolution?" And, how far past the basics do we start to see the characteristic differences between the three systems?

  • @mbutchin i learned also a little bit hung kuen ( hung gar ) ..... even between wing chun and hung gar there is many many similarities ......

    also hsing i and wing chun .... also some south east asian martial arts have so many similarities with styles like wing chun .... hsing i or bak mei ......

    propably many people had the same or similar ideas about their styles .....

  • @oyamarovic Yes a lot of similarities i so southern praying mantis these are very similar movements

  • A lot of this is reminiscent of Wing Chun techniques. Even the terms used are identical.
