  • Hi thank you so much for this video. However I hav uploaded a couple of test vids now to my youtube in both the ways you explained in yr vids imovie 08 & both 09 & they have both come up as HD. Thank you, but the quality is still so poor, they are very badly pixelated.. Pls if you can advise I would appreciate it! :) thanks in advance

  • thank you thank you thank you!!!

  • Great simple video. Thank you!

  • Thanks alot bro

  • thats for show me how to export in 'hach Dee'

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! :D

  • thanx dude

  • Thanks for the help!

  • this doens't look anything like my iMovie 08.

  • Great tutorial! Can you tell me why I have the 720p HD option available now in my videos, but when I click it, the quality doesn't get any better? I'm shooting with an HD camera. Thanks in advance!

  • when u start you projects do u make them in widescreen to fit the entire rectangular youtube screen?

  • Thanks so much

    I've been exporting them incorrectly

    Your a life saver

  • does your video have to be recorded in HD? or is there a way to switch it?

  • @TheGamerDude41 i think it would only make sense to have recorded from an HD camcorder or webcam.....LOL

  • i love your voice. thanks for help

  • very simple thanks

  • thank for your help

  • nice

  • mitch, my slideshow is 20 minutes long and close to 300mb. can i still upload this in HD? what about to facebook? Thanks a lot!

  • I know this is LAAAATE, but I used your method and my video was still degraded to 360p on youtube.

I remember uploading a few videos on my channel that were 1080i. One of them still is. I haven't been able to do it since.

    Any tips?

  • it doesnt give me that option =(

  • If my camera is a HD camera and i upload my footage straight onto iMovie, will it automatically import it HD or do i have to make changes to some settings in order for it to import in full quality to iMovie? Would love a reply.. could really use it :) thanks

  • Thanks man. Simple, quick, and straight forward answer. Just what I was looking for.

  • this helped me alot i have had imovie problems with it blurring it when i do it straight into youtube! thanks!

  • I faved your video :D

  • thanks

  • i can't click on options :/

  • You neglected to mention setting the data rate. 256 kbps will render a non-HD quality. Go for rates upwards of 5000 kbps.

  • what does final cut pro do ?

  • Hey Tejbz thanks for all your help! I just uploaded my first video. Would appreciate if you guys could watch, rate, and comment on it. I have a couple questions that I bring up for anyone who knows a quick way of converting, importing, and exporting their video from the Hauppauge to iMovie (or a better software program?) to youtube in 720p. Seems to take me hours to complete the process. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

  • Your intro is way to long for such a short video

  • now that i followed your instructions, my video has the 720p option but the clarity is the same with all the options (not good). i recorded in 1080p so i know its hd. any ideas? thanks...

  • how does 1 post an mp3 or wav, but include a still image (jpeg, gif or whatever)?

  • THANK YOU!

  • I exported it and it's pixelated. I showed your steps and it's fine until I export it. I'm using iMovie '08 and a Panasonic HDC-TM300.

  • Thank you SO much! :)

  • THANKS A MILLION!

  • Thank you so much. I've spent about 15 minutes looking through really stupid "tutorial" videos made by really stupid children on yt. And none of them seem capable to explaining the most rudimentary of things - one being simply saving a project in a youtube-appropriate file. Thank you for making this short, simple and sweet.

  • THANK YOU!

  • thanks heaps

  • When I export using quicktime, it doesn't give me an option to click option, it's greyd and unclickable, what's going on?

  • @TheContemporaryKid you did something wrong. make sure you clicked mp4 under file format ( the first one, there is two options )

  • Thanks so much!

  • thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

  • i did it in your way with imovie and many other ways,

the quality is great direct from the mac but when i have uploaded it to youtube it's bad quality :'(

    Help!?

  • you have to give it a few hours for it to be HD

  • @filleman17 It is true a few hours will help but if your in an area with great internet connection it will be alright

  • holy shit ur vid is high ass quality dude .. hopefully mine will be too after i watch this =]

  • Is it possible to download youtube videos in HD?

  • ilove this program

  • thanks good video :D

  • Thanks for the guide.

Remember that Jon4lakers had some problem with his HD videos were getting out of sync.

  • this guy is so cool

  • nice

  • this is good .................worked

  • would this work on '09

  • Thank you very informational!

  • hey i did the compressor type as H.264. I do this with screenflow videos, and it seems to work for me with the screenflow videos. Do you think it will still work the same with the H.264 in iMovie, to get the HD option - (instead of MPEG 4)?

  • This was great! Can you also do this for iMovie HD 06?

  • Yes, it should be the exact same method

  • @SDG3productions yea, I need 06 too! or i just need a new computer!

  • hey i jut tried it but its coming up as high quality not HD

  • When you first upload it you will have to give it about 10 min, depending on how busy youtube is.

Is the video recording 1280x720 and did you upload it as mpeg 4

  • Yeah when it was done prosscessing i went to wath it adn it gave me the option to watch it in high quality but not HD

  • Yea i had the same thing when i upload in HD. But it should be HD soon, probably youtube just still processing the HD images.

Remember to subscribe to my channel for more videos

  • another great video from you

  • haha did you make this cause i asked you how to do it in HD haha i HACHE D eheh

  • a shoutout is when u mention a youtuber on ur video, giving the youtuber u mentioned in the video some exposure and publicity and giving the youtuber mentioned more views

  • could u make an intro movie for me, and i'll do a shoutout for u
