Maybe so, of course you could mean sick as in cool; like "that was a sick stunt" or you could mean it in a more pejorative sense. All I know is that us Southerners get a bad rap because of the history down here as well as our accents. Some people assume that having the accent means you are less intelligent or something. Nothing could be further from the truth!
