whats strange is i have been using winscp for a long time and never had any problems with it then all of the sudden i cant access my files. I know my pass is alpine because i never changed it on this device but when i try to log on it doesnt even recognize it all. the winscp screen stays whit for 15 seconds then says to either reconnect or quit

easier way is to rename the one that says master.passwd.OLD to just master.passwd and replace the file. reboot and ur password will be back to "alpine'

When I open master.passwd with ifile text viewer, I then get a blank screen. But when I open the other file master.passwd.OLD with Ifile text viewer, then I get some text. What should I do? Should I use master.passwd.OLD instead of master.passwd?

@blakshawn If you forgot your username, just edit the text in front of "mobile" type /smx7MYTQIi2M and it will reset your username. Just a note if your using Cyberduck it will need a few tries to connect. Peace.

@smnajera I would go back and double check again and make sure that you are changing the correct line. i know it seems moot but just double check

@smnajera make sure you have erased everything it should look like root:/smx7MYTQIi2M make sure you erase the 'c' no spaces and once you have all this done go into 'Rock' it should ask you to change your password. change it and get 'toggle ssh' go into it and press 'enable' exit out of that and it should work when you try to ssh. once you have it working you can uninstall 'toggle ssh' if you want

same way. but the one you will change says mobile on it.

Run back through it and try it again. Make sure you do exactly as it says. Also check the vid description for a written guide. It could be that you are just mistyping one letter or a quotation mark or something. Let me know if you still have problems

IT WORKS FOLKS!!But, did we not also have to make sure the exact command line you change in ifile under ROOT is also changed to same under mobile ( in ifile when u change the string to /smx7MYTQIi2M..do we not need to make sure BOTH root and mobile is changed to that string in ifile)?Just clarifying to make sure as I thought we changed both in ifile so that both root and mobile would go back to the default -alpine.
