I don't know if you know about this but its basically Company's that make fake fan pages with miss leading text saying," JUSTIN BIEBER LOSES HIS VIRGINITY? " and the only way to see the content is to like it [obviously the title makes you want to see if its true]] then it redirects you to a site where you need to either post 10 times [advertising there site, FALSE] or do a Quick Survey [Also FALSE]
As for the 10-minute limit, the most it should have been is a temporary measure, not a permanent barrier. It's channels like this that are proof it needs to be removed. They've overstepped the anti-copyright boundary, so they should remove the time limit as an apology.
the most annoying thing about the whole "Like" thing is that people will get real mad when maybe 7 or so people dont like the vid and post a comment for it. I dont see a need for a "Like" system and I think the 5 Stars was better over all
I have an idea with the whole "DMCA Reform" video... sort of taken from what happened with another YouTube user (not naming who though..)
What if, someone was to falsely flag it for copyright infringement. That way, when it comes to filing a counter-DMCA claim on the video, someone at YouTube would have to physically watch it to see there is no copyrighted footage, meaning the message would get to YouTube HQ. Of course, this would mean having a strike on your account...
Also I missed the original show (saturday 5P EST would be 10pm GMT for me), is there any chance you could rebroadcast it for those who did, or have the recorded show available to watch over?
I've probably been pushed to that darkest corner this site has. I mean when I posted my very first video a few years ago on my other account, I got over 8,000 views. It wasn't even that great of a video either. Anyway, as time went on I started to get fewer and fewer views till now my videos barely get 100.
Did anyone record the stream? I'm in a GMT+1 timezone, so I couldn't catch it.
And I really agree with you on the subscriber-viewer amount. Now, I have 1915 subscribers (if there would be a honour system in Hungary where I live, this would be in the toplist), but get 100-200 views on my English videos and 300-400 on the Hungarian, when two years ago it was always more. Probably because of the huge amount of uploads (1002 videos now).
and you dont think that maybe the videos are just good or bad?....

For anyone who was wondering on issue about partners being able to disable flagging, here is a video by barelypolitical that has done just that. Try flagging it. It won't let you.
@tsntana@KwesiClarke Disabled video flagging wasn't covered in the live show. I just posted that because someone was asking about it, but I couldn't remember which video I saw this in. The live show mainly covered false DMCA claims and how uneven the playing field is in terms of channel growth.
with the sub and view chart wouldnt the avg amnt of views be for a person with 0 subs be about 30-40 views and than at2008 have X amount of subs and X amount of views not disagreeing with what you have to say...its still kinda accurate...another thing is that it would've gone in a loop at the beggining to 750K views and than the drop in views and rise of subs
@runehq54 I am not sure what you are saying. The chart is accurate. I took the first 54 videos and the last 54 videos and did the average views per video for each and those were the numbers.

YouTube oughta promote good videos/channels, and use different channels more often, instead of sticking with only a select few. Personally, they ought to promote AVGN way more, since his videos are either hilarious, informative, or meaningful, or all of the above. And they should promote the arts more too. There's lots of channels that show their artwork/drawings, and musical pieces, like Nunquam, I love his piano videos so much. That would really improve the site, I think.
How does BlogTV work? Is it going to be like your normal videos with your voice or will you be showing your face or is there going to be like a presentation? Thanks

@therealweeklynews I'm not a hardcore video maker (I have a couple of crappy videos but I'm not in it for the subscribers) so I don't know much about the whole ordeal - but I can completely empathise with those who feel they are getting the short end of the straw with Youtube... so I'll definitely set the alarm clock for 7am and get on here haha, I'm hoping a high attendance can spur you on in creating more videos about other topics I am more into :)
@Hybridtheory2007 You have to understand that while I do make videos, I am also someone that watches them as well. So even though you may not be on youtube for some sort of fame trip, that really isnt the point. The main point is that I want everyone to have the same opportunity for success here on youtube. This will allow us to see more NEW talent and not just more of the same old stuff we have seen time and time again.

All I can do is give everyone the information, what they do with it is out of my control. Well, over the years. From 2007-2010. SO many youtube accounts have been made. There are so many users with similar videos or same videos by accounts. Or they are way to many accounts and funny videos to watch.

the channel that is growing exponentially after high youtube rotation is RayWilliamJohnson. his video formula is taking other's videos, commenting on them with lame jokes, and getting people to leave comments and video responses which of course makes youtube happy therefore youtube promotes it more.
@ganondufus Yeah but he's a genuine guy, never tries to sell shit on Youtube or give companies a good name, and his videos are actually good and deserve being popular.
@Hybridtheory2007 technically he sells his t-shirts every video. it doesn't really matter to me whether he is successful or not. what matters more is youtube's selective enforcement of the rules. some people get away with infringing videos if youtube allows it, while others who do the same thing get suspended.
btw, about his videos being good, that is completely subjective. also remember that most of his audience will be young teen girls and kids, so the humor is targeted at their level.

Heyy great video as always . I agree with you abd how youtube has a choice on who becomes a big youtuber or not. I myself have not been so luckey over a year of work and i have around 750 subscribers and my views fluxuate bewtween 200-1000. I do it for fun but would love to be a partner but I have alot of work to do to become partner unless they throw me a bone like fred like when he first rose to fame. I don't understand, this is the Internet. Why exactly would YouTube have to give each viewer and member an equal opportunity in successfully establishing a video channel? I understand what you're trying to accomplish, but it's more-or-less me not understanding why you think everyone deverses equal opportunity. Shouldn't it be the owner's descison to permit whatever rules he wants on his own website if he owns/created it? And while it might be sad that it drowns and kill some channels that took forever to build. It was at the makers discretion.
@MartyMD If you read the description I have no problem with the rules of any site, but what I do have a problem with is basically discriminating against one channel while promoting another channel that is doing the exact same style of video. I think that type of business practice needs to be exposed. They act like they are this benevolent company that supports free speech, yet they boot channels that they dont like while protecting others from being suspended for that very same reason.
I've gotten three videos that could have had revenue sharing if I had applied for YouTube partnership, but I did not do so because I felt like I would be losing my freedom as a user, plus I have been offended by various actions in the past.
I've seen how many people have gotten suspended lately. I've agreed with everything happening here ever since I saw the Hulu Tube video.
While I haven't had any problems with videos being removed due to false copyright, they have been blocked in different countries because of it, but I removed most of those since not many people liked those anyway.
Just the mere thought of a whole bunch of people getting falsely suspended tells me I'm next on the hit list. YouTube = today's mainstream media.

um you should record the live show and then upload to YT bc more then 50% of your wievers cant see the show.
By thw way do you remember that if i subscribe to you from my chanel and the just leave it and create another one i will still be subscribed to you and you subscribers count wont drop.
also not every1 has created a YT chanel so they find videos on the main page not in subscirption box.

YouTube oughta promote good videos/channels, and use different channels more often, instead of sticking with only a select few. Personally, they ought to promote AVGN way more, since his videos are either hilarious, informative, or meaningful, or all of the above. And they should promote the arts more too. There's lots of channels that show their artwork/drawings, and musical pieces, like Nunquam, I love his piano videos so much. That would really improve the site, I think.

@therealweeklynews I'm not a hardcore video maker (I have a couple of crappy videos but I'm not in it for the subscribers) so I don't know much about the whole ordeal - but I can completely empathise with those who feel they are getting the short end of the straw with Youtube... so I'll definitely set the alarm clock for 7am and get on here haha, I'm hoping a high attendance can spur you on in creating more videos about other topics I am more into :)

@Hybridtheory2007 You have to understand that while I do make videos, I am also someone that watches them as well. So even though you may not be on youtube for some sort of fame trip, that really isnt the point. The main point is that I want everyone to have the same opportunity for success here on youtube. This will allow us to see more NEW talent and not just more of the same old stuff we have seen time and time again.

While I'm interested in this topic, I don't think too many people are interested in blogtv or live shows (I'm not). If I've learned anything about YouTube, is people like watching videos only, and they don't want to have to be at the internet as some particular time to watch some fuzzy video that's live. I'd do the video instead. Make it 10:59.

@NoBSTV I noticed you took your video down about the youtube thumbnail situation. I wonder why you did that? If you are not interested in joining the show, there is nothing I can do about that. All I can do is give everyone the information, what they do with it is out of my control. You cant make someone care, you can only inform about a situation so at least they will understand what is going on and not wonder why their views have gone down while making the very same videos.

Well, over the years. From 2007-2010. SO many youtube accounts have been made. There are so many users with similar videos or same videos by accounts. Or they are way to many accounts and funny videos to watch.

the channel that is growing exponentially after high youtube rotation is RayWilliamJohnson. his video formula is taking other's videos, commenting on them with lame jokes, and getting people to leave comments and video responses which of course makes youtube happy therefore youtube promotes it more.

@Hybridtheory2007 technically he sells his t-shirts every video. it doesn't really matter to me whether he is successful or not. what matters more is youtube's selective enforcement of the rules. some people get away with infringing videos if youtube allows it, while others who do the same thing get suspended.
btw, about his videos being good, that is completely subjective. also remember that most of his audience will be young teen girls and kids, so the humor is targeted at their level.

Heh, funny you say that. They just fixed the flagging system in which if you DO file a DMCA claim and it is fake, they will be legal penalties for false notices. from youtube quote "We can only process copyright complaints submitted by authorized parties in accordance with processes defined in law. Heyy great video as always . I agree with you abd how youtube has a choice on who becomes a big youtuber or not. I myself have not been so luckey over a year of work and i have around 750 subscribers and my views fluxuate bewtween 200-1000. I do it for fun but would love to be a partner but I have alot of work to do to become partner unless they throw me a bone like fred like when he first rose to fame. I don't understand, this is the Internet. Why exactly would YouTube have to give each viewer and member an equal opportunity in successfully establishing a video channel? Of course they'll give their best partners the biggest share of views. Of course big corporations will eat alive smaller viewers. YouTube has nothing to do with, "Fair-and-equal." There are no selective laws being broken by this, and your freedom of speech isn't being infridge upon because you have a choice to not be here.

@therealweeklynews Which is unforunate because I work at Saturday around that time. I only really had that one question. I understand what you're trying to accomplish, but it's more-or-less me not understanding why you think everyone deverses equal opportunity. Shouldn't it be the owner's descison to permit whatever rules he wants on his own website if he owns/created it? And while it might be sad that it drowns and kill some channels that took forever to build. It was at the makers discretion.

@MartyMD If you read the description I have no problem with the rules of any site, but what I do have a problem with is basically discriminating against one channel while promoting another channel that is doing the exact same style of video. I think that type of business practice needs to be exposed. They act like they are this benevolent company that supports free speech, yet they boot channels that they dont like while protecting others from being suspended for that very same reason.

I've seen how many people have gotten suspended lately. I've agreed with everything happening here ever since I saw the Hulu Tube video.
While I haven't had any problems with videos being removed due to false copyright, they have been blocked in different countries because of it, but I removed most of those since not many people liked those anyway.
Just the mere thought of a whole bunch of people getting falsely suspended tells me I'm next on the hit list. YouTube = today's mainstream media.
