  • That bassist is creating electricity for his amp himself with all that static electricity.

  • This vid is a favorite on Pyongyang

  • 4:07 she looks so mean and badass... I LOVE IT.

  • This take is WAY better than the album version. I wish this recorded clearer and uploaded at a higher quality setting... it sounds amazing grainy, but it would be fucking spectacular if it was in 480 or 720.

  • godh I wish I was that piano.

  • Nord "Kickin your ass" vs Fodera "Foderei-te"

  • holy crap that was sexy win! 1:02

  • I just want to see her naughty bedroom faces in person

  • Merci hiromi-uehara

    Hiromi-uehara-tom-and-jerry_music

    あなたは非常に魅力的です、無言の演劇を子供天使として保持しました。 ありがとうございます。

  • Holy smokes. 3:01 until the end is insane. I can't even imagine how many times you'd have to practice this song to make it this tight.

  • このトリオの上原ひろみ好きだ〜!

  • although i hade'nt heard this in months, as i was riding motorcycle last few days thru Grand Tetons and Yellowstone my brain began to be obsessed with this piece. Now at hotel and listening....it just seems right and i dont know why. Lets just loop it!

  • Not sure where the tonal center is most of time here but very rhythmically exciting!

  • I was in NYC on a biz trip. My colleague wanted to go to a jazz concert and asked me to accompany her, saying I should not let a female walk alone at night in Manhattan. I was not at all into jazz but I had do go with her reluctantly. That was my first encounter with Hiromi. I was blown away. Since then I was Hiromi’s loyal fan…

  • WICKED !!!!!!!!!!

  • I live by this song.

  • from which concert is that? is dvd version available?

  • どこまでストイックなテクニックだ。驚異的だ。

    standing applause!

  • It's as much a pleasure watching her play as it is listening. Let's also not forget the other players in the band; awesome playing on their part too.

  • Thats crazy

  • Hiromi makes my liver quiver at 1:01

  • IMO synth sound in this song is her image of 70's or 80's kung-fu movies' weird sound effects among fighting scenes by Jackie Chen,Bruce Lee and more actors.

Also I felt some phrases are Chinese image from Japanese people's view.

  • Best version of this I've seen so far.

I like her synth playing because it sounds weird, not some rehash Minimoog stuff.

  • jajajajaja she is awesome 4:42 an amaizing woman!!!!

  • Side note: the bassists fuzzy sweater.

  • @MsMicellist

    i think is incide out

  • I love her look at 1:01 !

  • The beginning reminds me of C&C Red Alert.

    God I love her music!

  • @Raidon90 lolol fortification?

  • I like this run-through better than the studio version. Very well done.

I just saw Hiromi play live with the Stanley Clarke trio last week.....phenomenal. You can't go wrong with Stanley Clarke, Ruslan Sirota, Chris Coleman, and Hiromi. Probably the most energetic set I've ever seen in my life.

  • Everyone loves the fart'y sound!

  • SEXY

  • 彼女、すごいよね!

  • @cireme she sure did~! haha sounds cool!

  • KILLED IT!!

  • なにやらリズム怪しいよんw

  • The pocket starting at 3:40 is nasty. So I've seen a few videos of Himomi now, and my sexist side has never once said "not bad for a woman". Fusion may have found a replacement for Chick, on the sad day he retires.

  • just great!!

    un abrazo!

  • what model is that red synth?

  • Clavia Nord Lead

  • It's a Roland Nord Lead 3

  • it's a clavia, not roland

  • NORD lead

  • I love Tony Grey (The bassist's) shirt in this video. I'm not sure what kind of material that shirt is, but I want it.

And this performance gives me the willies; the synergy between the trio is hella tight.

  • It's angora. Perhaps it's an Ed Wood homage thing. Great electronica...!

  • why does nobody mention tony grey's incredible sweater? :)

  • now that you do....its INCREDIBLE! lol, not to mention the matching touque

  • well its kool cuz it matches her hair :)

  • Godlike !

  • 3:20 reminds me of Liquid Tension Experiment's "Paradigm Shift".

"Who are these people" STRONGLY seconded!

I mean... where do they grow this musicians?

  • @xkuei Berklee School of Music. Her band is made up of people she met studying at that school.

  • her hairstyle resembles Einstein's . I guess geniuses think and apparently look alike...

  • 맵지 않게 해주세요.

  • If you don't like hot stuff - why the hell are you watching a video like this??? ㅋㅋㅋ

  • Sorry, what did I even say? For my comment it just shows a bunch of symbols???

  • Haha, you are funny! I just thought because... Your comment means something like "Please don't make it too spicy!" (in Korean, not Japanese...) Enjoy your time!

  • Hahahaha, yaaa, now I remember, I have some Korean friends who barely speak English, and I was learning some Korean one day, and for some reason I put that as a comment! hahaha, I looove Hiromi though, soo amazing.

  • valihora is a beast!

  • awesome!

  • The bassist is a MONSTER! Who are these people?!

  • bassist is Tony Grey....

  • hiromi is a fucken nutter

  • how kind of music is this minimal?some1 reply me :).

    i'm too...

  • musique juste fabuleuse :o

  • I just admire her incredible musical creativity.

  • 濡れた

  • ídola total!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I CANT BELIEVE THIS SHIT. i love her!

  • oh now thats cool!

  • Yo I watch this video once a day!!!! I love the poster.......in a very friendly way!!

  • perbacco!

  • incredible!!! thats why i stopped listening to almost all guitar players ,and listen to Allan Holdsworth now!! Just from a another planet feel!! if you think this is caotic listen to Ron Jarzombek or Spastic ink !!!

  • These are all incredible musicians, but personally I'd rather hear more melodic songwriting, like a Pat Methany/Lyle Mays or Ivan Lins tune. I respect these players to the max but it's not what I'd call "beautiful"...just my opinion.

  • Big fan of Pat Methany here too. Hiromi is a fireball, but she also has more melodic songs at her disposal. Listen to "Green Tea Farm", "Wind Song", "Deep into the Night" and my favorite "Time Flies".

  • I discovered fusion jazz 2 weeks ago with Pat Metheny and know Im watching this for the first time. Its an awesome revelation that gives me a thrill.

My question is actually if this still can be called fusion jazz, because theres not much jazzy sound left in here... But thats a person talking who knows the genre for just 2 weeks.

  • we are still talking about jazz my frieeend. and pat metheny is kind of special too !! god he is good !! man if you really enjoy why don't you look for meshell N'dge ocello, great acid jazz perfomer. just in case you don't know what to do, search it ;)

  • This is like tower of power meets medeski martin and wood meets herbie hancock meets god. Soooooo funky!

  • I think this is brilliant, its not really confusing at all compared to other stuff i have heard, there are some sections where it gets kind of annoying (just before it goes back to the head at the end for example) but this is still an awesome peice of music.

  • really awesome!!!!!!!!!!

Hiromi is the next Chick Corea!!!!!!!

  • Ahhh.....beautiful talented sexy Hiromi. And is that Tony Grey on bass, the furry with the syringe on top?

  • i absolutely loooove her expression at 1:03

  • Awesomeness!!! This sorta of music if played by advanced deep space aliens wont be out of sorts. Heck, wouldn't be surprised if the aliens adopt this as their national anthem...

  • Get with the funk...

This is great, and the analog synth is fantastic.

  • u sure it's an analog synth?

I also thought it was a Yamaha yc20 in the beginning, but realized it's too small.

    I think it's a Nord.

  • It's a Nord, she has 2 different kinds...crazy I tell ya...if only I could keep up with everything...

  • how is this genre called? It's the most interesting one I have ever heard : P you dont get bored hearing it.

  • I suppose most people would classify this as Jazz or Fusion, but that won't really help you find other music in the same vein. Perhaps the closest you will find is fusion from the late 60's and early 70's by bands like Return to Forever, Weather Report, Miles Davis or Herbie Hancock. If you like the synth work, look into ELP and George Duke. Hiromi's heros were Chick Corea and Oscar Peterson among other keyboard giants (also Bruce Lee hence the title of this piece).

  • Here we have a kid who has never studied music.

  • Your opinion offends me, because it is incorrect.

Also, i don't need any credentials of a music study to notice that this woman is extremely good on a piano.

Just because she's good, doesn't mean everyone likes it.

  • > Just because she's good, doesn't mean everyone likes it.

And just because you don't like it, doesn't mean that this music is "confusing", "chaotic" or "annoying". Please go back to listening to Britney or n'sync or whatever floats your little rubber ducky.

  • I didn't say it is... nor need the lecture.

    I simply gave my opinion.

Looks like I shouldn't post a different perspective about these dreams anymore, for it will only shatter them.

Though, i'd rather have THIS, than Britney or n'sinc (whatever that may be) or whatever pops my little rubber ducky.

  • > I didn't say it is... nor need the lecture.

"I think this music is confusing and chaotic, most of all annoying."

If you didn't type this in to your comment, then who did? Your cat?

  • Thinking it is, is something different than saying it is.

I said what i thought. This makes it an opinion. Am i wrong about you thinking that i said: This music is confusing ecc.?

It would've been foolish not to think before i wrote.

It's an opinion anyway since you disagree, so we can keep playing with words and animals all day.

  • @Hawke; "Looks like I shouldn't post a different perspective about these dreams anymore, for it will only shatter them." -- You're one of -those- people, aren't you. :P

  • Don't know what you're referring to.

    But, i guess i'm not?

  • You cannot grasp the true form of Hiromi's music !

  • Maybe Hiromi's music is confusing.. chaotic.. and maybe sounds like its from another world.. but that's what makes her different, THATS WHAT PEOPLE LIKES FROM HER AND that's why we all LOVE HIROMI !!

  • lol @ "looks like i shouldn't post a different perspective about these dreams anymore, for it will only shatter them" from Hawke, the master of sounding pretentious. makes you look like sooooo much of a dick haha

  • Why thank you.

  • damn!!!! three monsters that was awesome

  • The best trio I've ever seen!. Awesome.

  • por ahí me entere que la morra esta loca

  • may she birth my children O_o I love this woman

  • 指ってこんなに速く動くんですね

    自分のとは大違いw 羨ましいです

    keysのヘンテコな音がおもしろいですね

  • Scratch that; The whole group is incredible!

  • Who is the drummer? He's incredible.

  • Martin Valihora

  • Hiromi-san hires good people...Martin sometimes lets his chops interfere with his lyric sense, but he combines his gifts well in this particular recording.

  • hello where was it? I 'm seeking for this concert dvd as hel!

  • Martin sure knows his stuff...and Tony is killing me with those awewsome phrasings....

  • estoy totalmente exitado

  • Absolutely amazing. This girl is so incredible. Even better, her entire group is very talented, all of them are great! I've seen her live 4 times, I LOVE her!!!!

  • no fx just simplicity ^^ the norlead 2 have very good ring modulator sound shaper and those tree folks use just the fingers to play , and she and them play very very well ^^ clap clap awesome !!!
