@river210 technicly, the product name is the Ruger Mini 14. But yes, it is an "M14 Mini" as a miniature version of the M14. Standard M14 fires a .308, instead of 5.56

The M-14 was made for a socom squadron in vietnam, Thus for the size of the weapon, they upgraded from LMG round of the .225 to the 7.62 full metal jacket NATO round. **Own three M-14.-United States Marine Corps. :)**

yes,GoNavy95,they are easy to clean and handle,just not very accurate.you can expect maybe 2-3 inch groups at 100 yards.very fun rifle,though a little on the loud side.

Nope. We got plenty of actual reserve guys to do that. Besides, most cap cadets probably can't even tell you how to safely use a firearm let alone use one. Also, what would a 12 y/o be doing with a gun in CAP anyway? Shooting people? If we were that desperate, there'd be bigger problems
