  • SHIT MY EARS!!!!!!

  • Your video is popular on Fiji

  • Best plane in the universe.

  • interesting

  • 2012 we've got too have this girl flying in the sky again over London come on team GB make it happen

  • RIP headphone users

  • tru true

  • which airports did concorde travel to/from to get to kai tak?

  • @TheLn14 I know the landing on Kai Tak are included only in Charter Flights. Some Flights are round-the-world trips. She came from Guam and flew to Bangkok. Her max range were 4,500 miles but I think flew no more than 3500.

  • @Chrisy299 Cheers dude. You know the routing?

  • @TheLn14 I read a charter route in 1985: London-Bahrain-Bangkok-Hong Kong.

    ( sstsim . com / forums / lofiversion / index . php?t3870 . html )

    It is a mystery :)

  • @TheLn14 Maybe interesting too: youtube.com / watch?v=iCLheqVp55I

    and watch?v=atzPkyp_WBo

  • @TheLn14 A also known route for concorde is London-Bahrain-Singapore-Hongkong (Kai Tak)

  • @Chrisy299

That was never flown in schedule service. Hong Kong was visited by Concorde in charters only.

  • @ImmortalSynn Yes, thanks, I know that she flew the route only in charters. I wrote it in my first comment.

I found some information from where she came from and where she flew but nobody seems to know that exactly, it remains a mystery :)

  • I don't see what was wrong with this lovely paint job ... why did they decide to change it? WHY? ... KLM has not changed theirs in years, no has Lufthansa and Air France ... you know why? because you leave PERFECT alone ...

  • @Byron10301

Actually, Air France and KLM have both changed their paint jobs within the last few years... just that the changes have been slight, barely noticeable at KLM (stripe line width), and mostly in the lettering and tail livery at AF.

  • @ImmortalSynn true. they have made modifications ... on the other hand, BA and United have decided to completely leave a lovely design behind and adopt worse ones.

  • @Byron10301

Perhaps you shouldn't state opinion as if it were fact. While I miss Landor, I do realize that Chatham was very happily received.

As for United, I'm thrilled they got rid of the ridiculous "tulip" in exchange for a Continental's globe. Much more relevant to travel, and a far sharper theme in my own personal opinion.

  • When I had 6, I built my fist paper aircraft, I'm a innate genious.

  • Damn... I wouldn't want to be in concorde doing the approach into Kai Tak...

  • A true thing of beauty! A machine with a beating heart if ever one could be described as such.

  • I think it is impossible to see a Concorde in Hong Kong and I am from Hong Kong!!

  • i don't expect that there is a philippine airlines in kai tak before just like i didn't expect too that there is also a concorde in kai tak ...

best part is 2:19 ... i just love the PHILIPPINE AIRLINES

  • I must admit, the best livery for the British Airways Concorde was the Landor one.

  • @cupcakefairy87

    Amen to that.

Chatham is okay, but nothing screamed "classy!" like the Landor livery. It had the friggin' crown it in, for crying out loud!!

  • @ImmortalSynn Actually it didn't. It was BA's crest, complete with motto. (To Fly To Serve)

  • @cjmillsnun

And that crest/motto/shield was arranged in the overall shape of a ____________??? Yeah, crown. Lord.

  • This is like a Formula 1 car passing a van.

  • I would so buy one just to look at

  • un efficiency aircraft ......now has been grounded .. too expensive to be operate

  • thats the best airplain ever

  • Damn, my ears is ringing!!! Still a great plane and is a hundred years ahead. I'm sure it will be back within 5-10 years as new technologies are being develop all the time, especially the noise reduction technology they are working on now.

  • I never had a chance to fly in one .... bring them back!!!

  • Those RR Olympus engs scream

  • "FUCK THE SOUND"

  • Damn. Just hypnotic.

  • You just dont hear that sound from a normal airliner...

  • Even the pilots said there was nothing wrong with concord,, best plane ever so glad iv seen it fly and land at Leeds Bradford airport concord should still b flying

  • it's amazing to think think that such birds like that fly. That moment when the rear undercarriage lift off...!

And just compare that to the cumbersome (yet equally elegant) 747 at 2:18. Genius engineering. Such a loss. Bloody, bloody, waste.

  • whata piece of junk!

  • @playerdepimp Junk? You mean the best plane ever made.

  • @Brulszd how does it fly with a nose like that?

  • @playerdepimp Clearly very well. It was supersonic.

  • @Brulszd but its crashed like 10 times

  • @playerdepimp Do some research. It crashed once. And that was because of a DC-10 part on the runway, not the plane itself. It was considered safest passenger airliner in the world prior to the crash. Also, think about how many times other aircraft have crashed. Even ones designed and developed 20-30 years later than Concorde, and seeing as Concorde was designed by pen and paper, I find it extremely impressive that the only crash it experienced was the fault of another aircraft.

  • @Brulszd Actually, there was fault with Air France in their faulty maintenance of the landing gear as they left the spacers out of the gear which made the wheel wobble and then disintegrate.....That little piece of DC10 engine nacelle might have helped the situation but the ultimate fault lies on the backs of AF maintenance dept. A nice little coverup to blame someone else...

  • @AccessAir Okay then, It was Air France's fault, but still not Concorde's! Think about how many modern planes have crashed compared to these. Still beats them all 40 years after they were made!

  • @Brulszd

"Think about how many modern planes have crashed compared to these."

    Indeed. Actually THINK about it.

Only twenty Concordes ever flew, with one being a fatal write-off. That's a 0.05 ratio of airframe to fatal crash. That's HORRIBLE, it should statistically NEVER had happened.

By comparison, if the 737, which has had 6943 deliveries as of today, had such a bad ratio, we would've seen 348 of them fatally crash by now. That hasn't happened in over 40yrs. Get the point?

  • @ImmortalSynn In some way it's difficult to tell. Had 6943 Concordes been built, how many crashes would there have been. In reality the fleet that was in airline service was too small for a representative sample.

  • @cjmillsnun

    One word: extrapolate.

    Really not that difficult.

  • whole lotta plane

  • The lady, the beautiful swan of the skies. Shame on the people who couldn't keep it there.

  • @83superted

    Grow up.

"They" kept her in the skies for nearly 34 years... 27 of them in scheduled passenger service. That's a hell of an accomplishment by any standard, and certainly nothing calling for "shame."

  • wow!!!

  • Concorde Takeoff = Raging Orgasm

  • flying on concorde was one of the most amazing experiences of my life --- well to date ! september 1989 ...ahh the memories :)

  • I had to turn the volume down it was that immense!

  • Fuel to Noise Converter :D , Great Aircraft and Video... thanks for sharing

  • i wish i could still see them for real in person

  • Supersonic gas guzzler...

  • in my humble opinion....they should dig out the old concorde plans..put a new computer in the cockpit..maybe some new materials on the wings....and replace the engines with the F-22 engines..and put that speedbird back in action!

  • @zeldaaldez actually the computers were the most advanced i think they could still use those and the rest they could just keep and make another concorde with those

  • @zeldaaldez

You forgot the most important step... find the secret underground association of multi-billionaires who'd actually PAY for any of this to get done. lol

  • @zeldaaldez They won't because they've acidified the atmosphere geo-engineering.

  • @zeldaaldez Sorry. Just. No. Bring her back by all means, but keep the Olympus 593s.

  • @zeldaaldez Only problem is that it would be .000001 MPG

  • @zeldaaldez yeah well sadly that costs a lot of money

  • what a fucking engine loud as fuck

  • what a fucking engine

  • what an engine 5000 horse power

  • listen to those engines through decent speakers you'll see.

  • one of the best

  • How anyone could ever complain about the noise from Concorde is beyond me. I would happily listen to those engines every day of my life, for the rest of my life. Thank you Mr Rolls and Mr Royce. Us Brits have always built the best planes: Spitfire, Hurricane, Lightning, TSR2, and this utter, utter masterpiece. A thing of beauty, grace, style and stunning performance. Nothing will ever come close.

  • @sgh1963 I'm american but i have to agree It's beautiful the speed,look everything.

  • @sgh1963 Yea best planes...good joke, Mustang F15 F16 F18 F22 B2 747 737 777 787 case and point...America wins again

  • Holy Shit did you see that!

  • China Airlines A300 in the background 1:17-1:36

  • i still wonder how these huge heavy things get off the ground so easily.....

  • @TTDMFfreaknew lol, true

  • If you are claustrophobic never ride a Concorde... Wait you can't anymore. WE NEED TO GET ATLEAST 1 MORE OF THESE GREAT PLANES FLYING AGAIN!!!!!

  • @jumble104 Okay... F-35 F-15 F-16 F-14 F-22 F-18 F-117 SR-71 A-10 B-2 B-52 727 737 747 757 767 787. Not to mention the actual creation of the airplane.

  • For a second I thought its gonna stall :\

  • Just because there was a accident with the concorde the stop to build it??There are more accidents with the planes now we have!

  • British airways Plane !! :)

  • Woah! I didn't know PAL's 747-400 used to land at Kai Tak O.O

  • I used to have a model of the concord when I was a kid. It's sleek, it's elegant. Too bad petroleum price is not getting any cheaper, that was probably the main cause why BA and AF stopped their concord flight it is just too tad expensive to get them off the tarmac.

  • to bad I couldn't fly on the concord. and why stop making them and taking them off just for that crash of the rubber tire.

  • hey guys if concorde was eco friendly it would be still flyin till 2day.

  • dude evrybody listen there are planes for a better ,larger, and a less cockpit crew concorde :it comes back in 2015/16/17

  • This plane is a totally and utterly aviation masterpiece of British and French engineering. I will miss you so much.

  • 2:18 philipine airlines Jumbo Jet :O

  • Hello and a gentle remonstrance to the person who thought the cockpit was 'basic stuff'. Of course it was, but with the engineering built into this lady, much of the gee-gaws needed to control a less sophisticated aircraft weren't needed. The simple fact of such extraordinary engineering takes over for lots of knobs or buttons. The whole of the plane was one superb mechanism - all parts fitting together superbly. Complication does not make excellence.

  • What an acheivement this beautiful machine was, and what a disappointment that it will never carry passengers again :(

  • True but follow the money

  • I did fly on Concord once looking back on my flight feel very lucky I really miss it getting all teary eyed now as a kid used to watch it take off from LHR amazing sight and sound

  • Note the roar around 1:40.

  • proud to be british, well i was then, not now, no concorde no navy, and dont even talk to me about immigrants, britain is fading away along with all our greatness

  • i love this plane im sad too

  • i miss that sound terribly. i lived next to heathrow all my life & heard that spine chilling whine from those engines twice a day, everyday as it was taxiing...then roooaaarrrr. precious memories =D

  • @LaminaDieWills yes! lived in acton and could hear it fly by, always knew it was concorde by the sound

  • @LaminaDieWills you know what? i wish i could hear what you speak of cos it sounds awesome but all i heard was the same noise relly

  • @jman280292 Well the only way i can describe it was that sound in this video, like a loud hissing whining air sound escaping from the back of the engines, then a high pitch whine over the top that used to fluctuate high & low as it taxiied & when it used to turn the sound would change, as if the front of the engines were pointing towards where i was at my house & the sound would get even louder. When the throttles were pushed, the sound just leaped into a high pitch, then the roar followed.

  • @jman280292 at 0:40 + 10 seconds, listen behind the loud hissing sound...you can just hear the sound i was talking about...that low tone whining turbine sound. Its unmistakable, its that sound i knew before concorde took off. I used to tell me Dad "its 6pm, concordes taking off". he'd say "how do you know that " then seconds later, roooaaarrr. he's laugh and say "you dont even have took at them anymore to know what they are!!

  • @LaminaDieWills I too lived very close to Heathrow, twice a day, that thunder.... I will never forget it. Miss that plane...

  • Coolest plane, coolest airport. They're both gone now. Waah. :(

  • R.I.P Concorde

    R.I.P Kai Tak

    :( :( :(

  • Muito bom o seu video gostei!!

    Brazil

  • Great plane, too bad it just wasn't cost effective... they need to figure out a way to make super sonic flight avialable to everybody soon, 12 hour flights are a pain in the ass! Specialy with american airlines.. my god, the worst service in the planet

  • You forgot.most polluting?

  • To where was it flying?

I never knew that BA was allowed to fly to Hong Kong with that thing...

    I mean..that beautiful, dazzling piece of French-British Engineering :)

  • AMAZING SOUND!! THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AND POWER PLANE EVER MADE

  • As would Dominic Santani in 'Airwolf' would say 'No matter how many times I look at her she still takes my breath away' and for me Concorde is Queen of the skies still enough said.

  • i love how it's dawarfd by other planes, but is the only plane at the airport which dosn't look a like to another plane

  • Holy shit this thing is loud!!!!

  • it awesome, ive got a part of the engine intakes from a concord :')

  • I wonder how hard it must have been for the pilots to taxi the Concord? The Nose gear is literally at the middle of the airplane.

  • @swoodard4

From what I've heard upon the opportunity to talk to Concorde pilots, it wasn't that difficult... though I thought it was neat to learn that S.O.P. for both AF and BA was for Concorde to always taxi-in (after landing) with only two engines, as thrust from all 4 (even at idle) would cause the aircraft to taxi so fast, that the brakes would have to be constantly ridden, and overheat beyond their design intentions. Pretty cool. :)

  • eargasm man eargasm!!!!!!

  • the twats that shelved concorde need fucking with a pineapple twice ( a big one at that)

  • fastest loudest most beautiful mechanical bird to soar the skies!

  • aaa..if concorde back againn :3

  • CONCORDE SUCKS !!

  • you see the crown on the tail... this is the queen leaving Hong Kong as the 99 year lease was up

  • @wild1heart

The Queen wasn't in HK at that time.

Chris Patten was, but he didn't leave on that flight.

  • @wild1heart

Crown had nothing to do with it, all aircraft in the "Landor" livery had it.

  • will back

  • THAT is one ugly plane

  • @blingdaddy1 your ass is ugly

  • @MrEiriku i now like the plane

  • Concorde surely is one of the most beautiful things ever buily by man.

  • Kai tak was a fantastic airport,, full of style and lots of class, only an idiot would cuss it.

  • kai tak was such a cramped airport I'm relived they don't use it as much anymore.

  • this plane is very unique, also bit noisy

  • Shit, that nearly make me deaf

  • it was asuper bird

  • I'm sad I never got to fly on the Concord..... so sad :(

  • @restey11 ... that is CONCORDE not CONCORD .... I did fly the rocket once, LHR-JFK for my 40th birthday - quite an experience.

  • @restey11 yeah... and to land in Kai Tak... :-(

  • @restey11 I,m sad I,l never watch YouTube again

Years and they still have a buffering issue

  • @restey11 I'm not. I went to an air museum and saw how basic one of these are inside the cockpit and am glad I never flew on such basic stuff

  • @ 2:17 - 2:20 thats my airplane :D

  • Its a real shame that concord is no more was the most amazing passenger plane!! 3 and a half hours from London to New York can't be done anymore!!!

  • Most stylish, sleekist, fastest, beautiful plane thats ever flown,we miss you.

  • @2009theknight , most gas guzzler as well. that's why the british and french couldn't handle the revenue lost anymore

  • She crashed once and they got rid of her, shame.

  • @southwest1998 ur right but the crash was not even her fault cause any airplane could step on that piece of iron =(

  • @boeing787thebest Yeah true

  • whats this for a ojekt in min 1:58 at the background? :O

  • Concorde :(

  • nice plane...

  • I wouldn't wanna ride in that thing, I prefer airbus (: but concord is a nice plane! But to loud.

  • sounds like a beast

  • i luv it wen the polar air cargo plane crosses infront and concord is thinking get out of my way you fat slow troll!! oh you wanna race eh well kiss my four rolls royce olympus engines afterburners

  • @doh1959 hahahahaahahahah thats so funny! ur SO right! (:

  • Going on topic...

The only sad thing is, this bird is never gonna fly again. :(

  • since when was the concorde a passanger jet?

boy where have i been the past 4 years?

  • a very graceful bird.. concorde was the best ever

  • @matthewrware ooohhh right. well spotted.

  • this plane is the TU-144. not concord

  • I dreamed of flying Concord one day. I am gutted that dream will never be realised :-(

  • shit man the fast plane in the world

but is 1st crash in the world

  • @garmin65 this wasn't the first crash.. or the fastest "flying object".

  • @garmin65 Hey kid! Are you talking about passanger planes? Concorde cruise speed 2150 km/h max speed 2330 km/h. Tu-144 cruise speed 2300 km/h max speed 2500 km/h!

  • @YaropolkMSK Hey kid, how long did it take you to memorize that one? HAHAHA!

  • @BMXStatus302 There's always Wikipedia for that! HAHAHA!

  • must be small inside...

  • 1975barbados im glad you also understand this magnificent machine however it wasnt really due to fuel costs, for BA it was making a proffit right til the end, not air france however, if BA had paid in full for the aircraft it wouldnt have but they paid only 1p each when BA was privatised, it was withdrawn due to the airbus no longer willing to supply parts or services, 911 and an unknown sudden move by BA, Richard Branson loved concorde also and offered millions for the BA fleet but BA said no:(

  • @3wheeltrike

Don't be fooled, Branson's bid was a publicity stunt and nothing more. It doesn't matter how much he was willing to pay for the birds, as he couldn't operate them without B.A.C.E.'s knowledge of how to maintain them-- which was so specialized that even NASA engineers went through training under them, for techniques to maintain the aging shuttle fleet. No way in hell BA would allow BACE engineers to go to Branson, and he knew that from the start.

  • Only 1 Concorde ever crashed, that's a record second to none....... The reason it was taken out of service was because the price of Aviation fuel went sky high, meaning it was not profitable. But for British Airways it was their flagship, they should have kept it even if it was at a loss,it made u proud to be British and proud to fly with BA......look at the state of BA now ! Its like Ferrari pulling out of Formula 1 !!!!

  • @ 2:18: 747 pilot listens to the roar of 4 Rolls Royce Olympus 593's with reheat, and thinks fuck yeah !

  • These sounds alone made aviation history exciting for once!

  • Packs5100.....I'm in total agreement with your post.

Concorde was a familiar sight here at JFK. There will be a another like her. Just a superb aero sculpture.

    Regards,

    Herb Greenwood

  • I would not call the Concorde beautiful, good, or even ok.

I would call it a true piece of art. Its sleek and modern design gives it that very majestic look that will make it an important footnote in history.

  • I have never seen a majestic bird like this one!

  • Thank you for posting this. Best take-off video of Concorde I've seen. And I can account for over 100 views alone! ;)

  • i bet the families of the victims who died on this aircraft hate concorde and think its worthless. You should spare a thought for the people's lives this machine took and the inocent people on the ground it killed. ITs not nice seeing people burn to death

  • @1982FMJ was Concorde the first aircraft ever to crash & cause loss of life..?...
