Nawaz Sharif has presented solid plan to cope ith Crisis of Energy (Electricity breaks etc)
*********** Contents from Nawaz Sharif speech ************
1. Payment of arrears to the electricity producing companies so that all the electricity-producing units can function at the optimal production capacity.
2. To increase the production capacity of the old thermal units by replacing its old machinery with the new ones
@786Greenish NS has definitely not mentioned these 3 points in his programme. Not yet anyway. You can watch the whole program but you wont find the word "coal" or "wind" or "solar". He does mention hydro-power but projects of such scale materialize only for a long term solution; they cannot help mitigate the electricity problems in the short or even medium term. Besides, such huge projects cost upwards of $2billion (Rs.180bn+)
@786Greenish If you think this plan is solid, clearly you havnt thought enough on the facts:
1. Payment of arrears has already been happening and 100s of billions have already been spent by current govt (where they term it as xy billions 'injected' into power sector). It is a USELESS drain of taxpayer's money.
2. Replacing machinery of thermal units - its still using furnace oil. How're you gonna finance that? Through loans? I also have video of NS saying recently "qarzay to le saktay hain na"
@786Greenish your post got flagged as spam so didn't see them...
3. LPG has to be imported too...again, rise of already huge import bill
4. He hasn't yet mentioned coal, wind, solar. I just hope he does before its too late!
5. Hydropower projects take a long long time to develop and require a lot of financing. What I quoted in this video is Mr.Sharif's plan to end loadshedding which he claimed will be done quickly. You cant do that through hydropower, such projects require at least 7-8 years.
@786Greenish Run of the river projects eg. taunsa barrage generation project is a good thing. Such things are appreciable. But again, my focus is on Mr.Sharif's claim of ending loadshedding, I think he wants to do it at least in a 5 year time frame?
Ghazi Barotha was good, but implementation was so poor that it didn't work until a dictator (Musharraf) came and spent additional public funds to repair the dam and turbines. I would consider it shameful if an elected person is bested by a dictator.
As far as the you point about Loans is concerned , Taking a loan is not a sin as far as you are utilizing it in a best possible manner,
Further i want to tell you that Nawaz Sharif did make a sincere effort to break USA begging bowl and Pakistan was on it's way to become loan free state. But dictator toppled the Govt of Nawaz Sharif in 1999. Had his govt not been toppled, Pakistan would have become economically Asian tiger till now.
@786Greenish I would consider taking a loan as sinful since INTEREST PAYMENTS of past loans take up $9.5billion in the annual budget (Rs.850bn). That is nearly double that of defence budget. And that doesn't even include the payments on principle amount.
GDP rate was at 4.1% in 1999 when Nawaz Sharif's government was snatched away . When NS took govt in 1997 , the GDP was just 1.1 and with a great policy it was boosted to 4.1 % inspite of the sanctions imposed by USA, IMF, World Bank and Europe after nuclear tests.
So please brother , stop your propganda campaign and spreading rumours . PML-N is the only party with best team capable to take country out of this crisis .. Tell me agenda of ur party to cope wd d same
@786Greenish Spreading propaganda? My friend, some clear verifiable stats:
When NS govt fell in 99 growth rate was 3.7%. This corrupt PPP govt has managed 4.3% so whats the diff. b/w them?
Due to PML govt inefficiencies, budget deficit in 1992 was 9.5% of GDP. Even after excluding state corporation losses it stood at a staggering 8%, and Pakistan's growth fell from 7.7 to1.7% the next year till that govt. fell.
AWESOME!!!!!!

This has been flagged as spam show
3. To overcome the shortage of gas by completing the schemes of LPG in maximum 2 years so that thermal units are run on the gas instead of oil to
generate cheaper electricity
4. To enforce the already chalked out plan of action to generate electricity through hydal, coal, wind and solar energy.
5. To implement new projects of water resources through national reconciliation

Well he has presented a short-term solution and long term solution too, You have missed point # 3,4,5 , i guess !!!
Why areyou not discussing his plan to generate electricty through Hydal,Coal, wind and Solar energy??
BTW do you know that Punjab Govt has signed few agreements with CHINA for generation of power from the Taunsa Barrage and through Coal.
Also, In past govt Nawaz Sharif's govt laid foundation of the largest electricity producing Hydal power project of Ghazi Brotha.
