It's very doable with a 26" trailbike or short travel 29er. Hell, check Cody on Devil's staircase out to see a local doing it on a 29 hard tail

Do you necessarily _Need_ a DH bike? How much of the trails in austin can you get past with something like a K2 Lithium 4?
