Using the same "scare tactics" and distortions he condemns his critics for using, Obama wrongly accused the majority of reversing "a century of law" that could allow our elections to be "bankrolled by America's most powerful interests, or worse, by foreign entities."
Not even close. The law banning spending by foreign corps in our elections wasn't even at issue. The Court reversed a 10 yo ruling that had allowed political speech to be banned based on the speaker's corporate identity.
They didn't include the next part where Barry says " I don't believe that campaigns should be bank rolled by America's most powerful interests." ROFL!! Okay, so where did YOUR campaign money come from?? What a joke.
I understand that. Where does THAT money come from? Am I to believe none of it comes from big money corporations? What do the CEO's & exec's do with their money when they support a candidate? I'm not trying to be snarky, I would like to know what you believe.
Big money, OLD MONEY, calls the shots here whether we see it or not. I don't claim Dems or Reps, I believe it's all corrupt. That's why Blagojevich was so UN-repentant . He was only going along with how things get done.
If your perspective is that Dems and Reps are both corrupt, I suggest to look for a third party. Not just look but become heavily involved and stand up for what you beleive in. Today all we have are follow the leader types. To see someone who can really stick to and defend what he beleives in is something to look up to.
And if it's capatilism you're stating is corrupt, I suggest another form of government entirely.
No no not at all. Capitalism is a big part of what made this country what it is. Nah, I'm not one of those "Capitalism is evil" (while I rake in the cash from the movies I make) people ;-)
Actually my husband & I are getting involved & looking to do grass roots support of the candidate we want for Gov. I won't rule out a Dem or Rep candidate, but I WILL know what they're all about before endorsing them in any fashion!
I really think Govt thought America was sleeping, complacent. That's why they rolled Obama out. He won like it was a popularity contest & not the presidency. I believe they thought "okay, time to really start the takeover". They didn't figure American's would wake up the way they are.
I guess people really got stoked about the "hope & change" bit & ignored the red flags like his talk of a "civilian national security force". That was the kind of thing that kept me miles away from voting for him. I didn't know at the time that McCain was just as bad a choice. I should have voted for Ron Paul even though I felt like it would be "throwing away my vote" as they say. : ( No more! I will work hard to help effectuate real hope & change :)
The supreme court decision will lead to CORPORATIONS corrupting the political system even more than it is. In come special interests out goes OUR needs...
@juanalvy If Obama is really being truthful here about his remarks then it leads me to belive that he may be going away from the script that the special interest groups had in mind. Obama needs to watch himself these individuals are dangerous once you cross them. It happened to Kennedy remember?
Hillary is already in pocket to a few. Obama called her out on it in the campaign, & then turns around & makes her Sec of State! ROFL! It's all a circus put on for our amusement & distraction.
Our 2010 state of the union speech and no president in sight to give it. This man was not a President during that speech.
Anyone thinking what he did there was correct or OK. Well your just a "dumdass".
And to lecture the congress the way he did. He sees these people on a regular basis, correct. This was all for show. Anyone who thinks this was correct or OK is a "dumbass".
And then to offer tax credit and levys for banks in the same speech. Anyone who thinks that is correct is a "dumbass"
A year ago this ape said he was going to fix the whole Universe with his ideas. After one year he has done nothing at all. Oh wait, the deficit is bigger. Thanks Obama. Unfortunately, there is still plenty of time for him to sink even more this country with his philosophy. May God protect us from this person. I cannot call him President because he neither behaves or thinks like a leader. That suit is too big for him to wear.
No shit? A politician that lies? Nooooooo. Really?
Thats fine. Politicians lie. But not here. Alito and his "5 to 4" crew did exactly what the Republicans say they don't do. Actively change the Constitution rather than interpret it. Alito's little face contortion is just more evidence that he is an ideologue, not a Jurist.
Judge Alitio is a disgrace and it just proves how unqualified he really is. It speaks volumes about America legal systems. I forget he was appointed by the Bush Administration, the same idiots who messed up our economy and now try to blame it on everyone else with the exception of themselves. I am so glad that Obama had the balls to call them out on their BS

His campaign money didn't come from corporations they came from the Democratic Candidate fund. Just like John McCain received his from the G.O.P.
Neither of the two received money from major corporations or otherwise known as "...Americas most powerful interests.".

@mutterkat,
Everyone I spoke to about politics said the same thing, I'm glad I voted for Ron Paul and was able to sleep at night.

It's not that he can't speak about it- but it IS about his complete lack of class and decorum in doing so in front of them at his SOTU speech...
The night was awash in blunders and gaffs with Chris Matthews saying he almost forgot Obama was black for a hour... such class the Dems have..
