  • Bravo!

  • Beautiful arms, and artistry, and to who it may concern the orchestra is usually conducted by the speed of the choreography/dancer ♥

  • What a lovely tutu... and a lovely ballerina... (at the begining *did not watch the whole video*)...

  • this is amazing!!! but it sounded like they sped the waltz of the snowflakes up alot!

  • @christinakaiser74 Yeah, there are faster versions of that song. I'm also more used to the slow one though! But yeah, definitely an awesome performance here!

  • absolutely LOVE this <3 <3 The dancers are amazing, and so is the music!!

  • I adore at 0:38 when they're perfectly in synch. Amazing production of a timeless classic!

  • wait, is this a professional company? that like tours around, has a summer intensive and such? this is really throwing me off.....

  • amazing! i am going to be in snowflakes and waltz of the flowers in this year's nutcracker at my dance school! and on pointe! i am soo excited!

  • me too! i absolutely love it!!

  • is this a live orchestra as well?? also, beautiful painted set, altogether a wonderful performance

  • omg... Slichter and Jacques were breathtaking, everyone performed soooo beautifully in this, bravo!

  • i was a snowflake in the nutcracker!

  • Marvelous performance, lovely dancing.

    Thank you!

  • this is so beautiful :D i love it :)

  • ahh i love thiss =]

  • Well performed .. the snow queen has amazing feet and legs but needs to work on her posture!

  • me cargó :S!

  • Wow! The snowflakes are my favourite part of The Nutcracker! =D

  • wow

  • wow

  • I dance at a pre-professional ballet school in CT. The dancers in this perfromance are great. I have only found a few Nutcracker videos on the internet that are worth watching!

  • wow! they are really good. I am lucky enough to be the nutcracker coming this december. I'm only 15 and im have some trouble with partnering. any advise to be that good?

  • very beautiful dancing!!!!!

  • arooga!!!!!!!!

  • wonderful lifts

    AMAZING performance

  • If you go and watch my entry, "The Battle", it is the scene just before this one. In Battle, the Nutcracker has been given human form by Drosselmeier, but still has the head of the Nutcracker. He defeats the King of the Mice, so he is then given a human head too, and then this scene starts. Mine is a production of the Mariinsky, though.

  • That is also similar to this production. See the video "The Battle Scene" which features the same male dancer (Kevin Terry) as The Nutcracker and then he transforms into the Nutcracker Prince at the beginning of this scene.

  • They really remind me of snowflakes and every one of them were amazing! I hope that one day I'd be able to see this ballet.

Too bad I dropped my ballet lessons for school. -sigh- Now I wish that I kept it up...

Anywho! Thanks for posting and Tchaikovsky is a pure genius all the way!

  • Lovely dancing, and the music is so moving! It reminds me of Christmas :)

  • tchaikovsky is definatly one of my favourite composers, watching the dancing is absolutly lovely, but its the music that really gets to me!

  • kudos to atlanta and the guys are great!

  • Incredibly moving!

  • pas de deux is a dance for two. which makes this a pas de deux. LIke the famous pas de deux in swan lake. Most ballets contain a pas de deux of the two main roles or dancers.

  • Stacy Stichter is an amazing dancer...marvelous performance!!! wows me every time!!!

  • Agreed! Her performance this year was even better. I will be posting that soon.

  • I love watching this scene. It is very beautiful! Years ago I got several chances to sing with a chorus during this scene. So it's nice to see how it comes together with the dancing.

  • The ending makes me cry. Tchaikovsky was a true genius!

  • *its a very beuty ballet*

    excellent work!!!!

  • it was very beautiful.. but im sorry i didnt hear pas de deux anywhere in that 10 min clip? are you sure you know what song is called pas de deux? cause it was certainly not in this

  • Yes, I am quite sure. The Snow pas de Deux starts with Clara and the Nutcracker Prince, followed by the Snow Queen and Snow King. The Grand pas de Deux is in the second act, featuring the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier. Maybe that's what you're thinking about.

  • I have so much to say about this--For one its absolutely flawless and beautiful.

I LOVED the pas de deux It was amazing. Im only 14 but im in a company and on pointe and I can honestly say I would DIE to dance like that. Their arabesques were gorgeous. And I loved the choregraphy in the das de deux. But the corp wasnt so great--Just being honest.

Definetely one of my favorite dances to watch--we have nutcracker next week! =] Wish ARB luck!

  • I like my dance schools nutcracker a lot better, I was a snowflake this year as well

  • this isnt bad at all, im 16 n idance for tolbert yilmaz and we just finished up nutcracker

n now im in the NC for atlanta ballet a tthe fox

  • I can't wait for my feet to grow strong enough to go onto point! (I'm only twelve and had intervals inbetween my dancing at the studio of about 6 months was the biggest one)

  • that was very nice. i loved all of the dancing, but the trumpet messed up at 8:08, and it kinda threw me off, but i thought that it was still beautiful!

  • very nice but why didnt she go up on point for the en dehor pique turns at about :30 ?

other wise it was really good!!!

I get to be in this dance with my dance studio for our production of the nutcracker and it is really hard but fun!

Although we are doing it on pointe so I got a really nasty blister during rehearsal..... but oh well its still a lovely dance!

  • god.!!

that was the dance most beutiful that i never seen.

and i love waltz of the snowflakes, is so.. sweet, and armonic. is my favorite :)

    thanks for this : D

  • beautiful

  • Ok,so this was good. i'm a techie who dose this show every year and the one thing was the snow. You could have effectivly rented 2 snow machines and it would have looked so much better. Maybe fewer dancers on a stage that small. one more thing, our slay comes out like 2 minutes earlier and it makes alittle more sence b/c clara has more time to look. thanks and it was good

  • The snow is difficult to see in this video. It looks much better in person. There are two manually operated baffles above the stage which dispense the "snow". And the rest of it is purely artistic opinion. There are as many ways to stage this as there are Nutcrackers.

  • I love the dancers,the music....I just love classic.....I love Tschaikowsky,who wrote Pas de deux....that's such a masterpiece....great work ;)

PS: I know T. wrote lots more =D

  • very nice. amazing dancers...together for the most part. wasnt a huge fan of the choreograph though...to much movement at times

over all a very good performance

  • Very nice performance with wonderful dancers.

  • wow this dance was amazing. =]

im doing the piece snow for my pointe class.

i wish ours was that good! lol.

  • I love singing the chorus of the la-la's every year when the nutcracker comes into town [the woman in my choir sing it with a professional orcistra] its amazin.

  • the dancing is superb! lighting ok..

  • Oh wow........*speechless*

  • beautiful!

  • so good! i really enjoyed the snow queens dancing. she was very, very good. gosh, i want it to be nutcracker time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • These guys are such great dancers, and the music is lovely!

  • love it

  • u know pas de deux is pronounced, pah deh due

  • i would love to dance en pointe, so i could be princess tutu:(

  • Beautiful!

  • it's a good dance; i LOVE the snow scene all together; i've done nutcracker for 5 years.... i love the dance and the music especially, everything!

  • omg i love snow scene! the person i was understudying got injured so i got to do snow corps at the last minute!! we also have falling snow, but not during the pas de deux, just during the waltz. i dance at lagrange ballet in lagrange georgia.

  • Beautiful, where can I buy the dvd

  • Stacey Slichter is the Snow Queen in this video. She recently left a long-held position as principal dancer with the Atlanta Ballet to join North Atlanta Dance Theatre. In this video, she is in her third month of her first pregnancy!!!!!

  • wow very good!!

  • omgomg i remember i danced to this when i was 13... i was snow queen; and the music is just beautiful! same routine as well!

  • hmmmmm...a very interesting variation....I should post my companies, since I think other dancers would appreciate the concept. (our costumes and set are amazing + we have falling "snow" the whole time...although it sucks when you get some lodged in your eye! XD)

  • There is falling snow in the corps scene after the Snow Queen pas. It may be difficult to see in this video. It is actually quite impressive in person! Look for the little white "puddles" of snow that collect in spots downstage.

  • beautiful I wish i could dance like tht! :P

  • Simply amazing and so beautiful! I wish it was Christmastime! Sigh... :-)

  • Pretty! Heheh!
