It's still amazing how rounded these guys are......they unmercifully rock out or play very musically and melodically at the flip of a switch.....just tremendously talented.
Better on the original. This song, sudivisions, Red Barchetta and Manhattan project stick in my mind having me sing them to myself spontaneously wherever to my embarassment. They're such sticky melodies.
Don't know if Geddy had a rough night, or just all the years of touring has strained his voice, but I think it'd probably sound better if he sang his high parts (not just Time Stand Still, but in general) maybe an octave lower. He and Alex could tune down accordingly. I think it'd add some more years to his voice so they could tour into their 60s.
@cdgriffin88 They'll probably have to eventually. They play 2112 a few steps down; they may do similarly for songs like this. A whole octave lower is overkill, though.
@VideoMask93 Yeah, I didn't literally mean to tune down an octave, maybe D standard. I know James LaBrie had a vocal chord issue for over 10 years, and he had to sing everything lower. Don't think the band tuned down live though, not sure.
I have always believed Geddy Lee has psicological issues hahahaha. Two personalities at the same time in the same body: one is singing and the other is playing the bass...
Anyone who calls Rush a "guilty pleasure band" (*cough* Rolling Stone) doesn't know jack shit. I don't know a SINGLE Rush fan who feels guilty about liking them AT ALL.
I knew as soon as they announced it was calledthe Time Machine Tour that they would have to play Time Stand Still. Im so glad that they did. I thought this wouldbe one Id never get to see!!
The memories this video brings, i love them, and love the music, and love the lyrics. Just outstanding. Look how old they've gotten, and they still play so hard and kick ass! Hope They go as long as they physically can!
To those who GET IT, nothing needs to be added to RUSH...to those who don't, nothing said will help....oh woe is them that do not understand the Gift! Great video...as a proud card carrying member of RASH...THANK YOU!

Love that they use Aimee Mann's bg vocals live.. It's so much part of the song, it wouldn't be the same without it.
