goddammit what about the caliphates, they were the one that advanced thru those fields, that paved the path for western civilizations to become the great beacon of hope they are now
@worldofpaul12 The Caliphate only prospered because they "absorbed" (conquered) the rich and highly populated parts of the former Byzantine Christian empire. The Islamic leaders in the early Caliphs brought in what is best descibed as a peaceful internal prosperity which allowed progress to be made. I believe the Islamic golden age was not as great as made out because of relative internal calm.
@ADZ01982 dont say absorbed when the byzantiums were conquered, actually nevermind. But didnt the ottomons conquer byzantine? and i am sure there were powerful caliphates before the ottomons. Because i remmber that the byzantines were standing during atleast 4 or 5 crusades and they were only weakened during the 4th crusades. And before the crusades the calpiahtes were extremely powerful. Also the only area where they effectively conquered in europe was spain.
@ebaj So you challenge me to protect my next ? This is charity, this is the noble and christian way of living. Protecting the pilgrims and saving the holy places from islamic detruction is the will of God. Deus lo vult !
@3MostHolyTrinity3 wasnt it jesus who said love your enemies? And islam doesnt destroy. No religion does. It is only the people who abuse it for their petty gains. Like the Roman empire. I love the romans they are just awesome!
@ebaj We have read it, and jesus said to gain salvation is to love the Lord and our neighbors and follows God laws, God's law is to keep away from sin as much as possible.. Very simple message... Don't see why you are pulling your hair out.
@Xzerio um not really. Ur beng biased. Western civilization was backwards but only after the crusades when the muslim kingdoms (caliphates) collapsed did we manage to think forward and invented awesome stuff that brings us to the world today. Sadly there are still people who think they are superior because of what happened in the past. Which is not the way to go.
Typical. Rome was a beacon of learning, but the "barbarians" destroyed it. I guess that explains why Constantinople was the center of the empire before the Western Empire crumbled. And all these soldiers come out of nowhere to fight the vikings and then they serve lords? this documentary is playing fast and loose.
@vaevictus The barbarians were unable to capture Constantinople mainly because of its great defensive walls. So they turned to the much weaker Western Roman Empire. This allowed the Eastern Roman Empire to rebuild and consolidated its authority. The knowledge of classical learnings were therefore preserved throughout major cities in the east. The crusaders themselves behaved like the barbarians of Late Antiquity plundering their way to Jerusalem under the sign of the Cross.
@MrLantean Because the Byzantines starved them and didn't pay them. So they had to live off the land. Had the Byzantines manned up and dealt with the Seljuks on their own rather than use the Crusaders as meat shields against them, there would've been no crusade in the first place.
@HolyknightVader999 The Byzantines never expected thousands of Western Europeans would answer their request for military assistance. They expected perhaps several hundreds mercenaries from the West. The Pope used this as an opportunity to spread Roman Catholic influence in the east. They came and conquer Jerusalem instead of helping the Byzantines to recover Anatolia from the Seljuk Turks.
Every part of this myth is a lie. By the rules that Muslims claim for themselves, the Crusades were perfectly justified, and the excesses (though beneath Christian standards) pale in comparison with the historical treatment of conquered populations at the hands of Muslims.
The video exaggerates a bit when it says Europe had been under absolute economic depression for 600 years in the 11th century. Agriculture innovations (especially the 3 field rotation, which was even more productive than the Roman Era agriculture), warmer climate and an undeniable agricultural growth allowed for an increasingly better economic and social life from about 800 on. The vikings and other problems were a drawback, but in general there were many improvements after about 800-900.
Want to see real enlightenment techniques?Feel like there is a lot more?psychic abilities and powers, it is all possible.THE-HIDDEN-SPIRITdotCOM it is time to wake up.
I don't think whole races should be labelled evil..but remember whethere they were evil or not, christianity allowed them to unite all this energy for destructive/repressive purposes, such as spreading the word by sword....I am not just talking about the western asian crusades but mainly the northern european aka baltic crusades! What sort of crap was that?Even the romans did'nt do anything like that while they easily could have done so had they wanted!Pagan europe(Greece, rome, celts etc)was best!!
@cillantro Oh, come on. Before Christianity, Celts and Germanics expanded as warrior societies that even had specific gods of war. Rome and Greece created an imperialism that included genocides of entire peoples (or what happened in Carthage?). You seem to underestimate the capacity for evil of Romans. They tried to assimilate populations later because of necessity to govern a huge territory, but they killed millions and eliminated entire nations (and tried to do so with the Jews).
@Homoclassicus They did have a capacity for evil, but naturalism and polytheism were the two yokes or anvils which kept them rooted. These people u mention were individual emperors/dictators who decided to go on and carry such brutal campaigns.Never did rome for example carry out such barbaric campaigns in the name of sol invictus for example.Christianity sort of brought a central command which channelised all this evil an unleashed a new and repressive force on the west as did Islam in the east..
Of course the conquests of Rome weren't carried only by emperors. Roman senators repeatedly CALLED for the genocide of Carthage. The imperial enterprise involved the whole society, which pretended to do so for the so called "civilized" and "superior" ways and values of Rome, a proto-nazism. The Sol Invictus was a late cult. In fact, Christianity was persecuted by the elite as noxious to the obedience to the central Empire and its rise was actually was accompanied by the FALL of central command.
@Homoclassicus That begets the point which was before chris/islam,people fought for power and wealth.Religion was never a part of the equation. The Lithuanians for example practised their native naturalist faith as they had up until the northern crusades of the 15th centuries!!! This was because of the religious tolerance of previous non-christian emprie and because of their relative isolation that kept them away from the eye of the church!Roman,Greek pre-christians had a republic long before us!
@cillantro Well, the Romans and Greeks destroyed all their Republican principles centuries before Christianity was even remotely important. It's obvious good things didn't begin with Christianity, nor is it true that Christianity destroyed a wonderful Pagan world. Philosophers have already discussed this: ancient religions were national and linked their gods only to their believers (the tribe, the people). They wouldn't want their religion to be spread to others.
@cillantro (continuation) The trend to include religion in the "equation" begun after the so called Axis Age with the universalist religions, of which Christianity was just one of quite a few. As they intend to be "universal truth", those religions "bother" to expand their message in a way that ancient religions couldn't grasp, because the Pagans really meant their faith to be only theirs, since their gods had a special, exclusive link with them and granted them exclusive favors and powers.
@Homoclassicus and you are supporting those universalist religions because???What I am saying is the world already has its share of problems, including religion in the equation is one of the biggest problems at present.Imagine a world where there was either no religion or only the true naturalism/paganism...just the way it was before these so called ""true"" religions sprung up!I would have loved to live in say...anceint egypt or anceint India...today's world is not as good,is it?I dnt think so..
That's a matter of priorities and values. I think the current societies are much more unified and humanist than the ancient ones, which, for all the beauty of their "naturalism", considered essential maintaining the "natural law and order" and not the ethics and problems of individuals with rights. In India, the movement of "univesal religions" didn't win - and we know it's one of the unfairest and more divided civilizations (chastes!) with lots of attacks of Hinduists against other faiths.
@Homoclassicus Universalist religions are plain evil. And about caste, remember christian/muslims in India are the ones who abuse the caste system.Caste system existed everywhere.Let it be the trade guilds of europe, last names like shepherd, smith and so on,what did they signify?A person's caste. In India what you think of as caste is called the varna. No english translation and hence the brits used the european word caste to divide and conquer.India had no slavery or antisemitism. The fairest society
@Homoclassicus The caste system was mere division of labour.,Thats why majority brahmins were poor, while some dalits have ancestral property. This is difficult to understand,so let me explain. The Vedas say no human is inferior to another. Those with more rarer skills were revered in society because they were precious, and the others were just normal.Canada does'nt give work visas or points based immigration to garbage men does it?
The brits were the ones who created a caste divide to rule us all.
@Homoclassicus India was the only country with no history of Anti-semitism,slavery and religious intolerance. How could we have been cruel with the caste system? The caste system is a buzz word for so called backward castes coz it benefits them through free college seats which go for a million rupees otherwise and the politicians who earn vote banks.Just like appeasement of minorts. If so called lower castes realised they were never ill treated, who will they vote for?Real leader, not current scum!!
@Homoclassicus U are talking about modern India with its filthy politicians and democratic institutions pioneered by the faithfull in the west like yourself to keep the monarchies, megacorps and wealthy ones in power while giving others the illusion power. The Hindus have been suffering at the hands of other faiths for 1000+ years thanks to their nature of believing in "vasudeva kutumbakam" which means all humanhs r one family. Now christian/islamic racists and zealots cannot understand this at all
@cillantro As for my "support", that's a theological opinion: I think the universalist religions have doctrines that try to define ethics, the meaning of life and the idea of a universal "path to salvation" that to the ancient religions didn't matter. Those were based on utilitarism (Gods' worship mattered if they favoured you), exchange (e.g. kill animals to have good harvest) and obedience to natural order ("nature" matters more than righteousness and mankind, wisdom more than goodness).
@Homoclassicus Universalist religions are unethical.Hinduism, buddhism etc believe that the destnation(god) is one but paths are different. What do universalist religion believe? In hell if you don't believe in them! They believe non-believers are kaffirs,sinners.Sub-human is what they consider non-belivers,atheists and people of other faiths.Universalist faiths are mere political religions meant to unify people so some(pope, mullahs, caliphs, emperors)can have power.Naturalism, hindusim is spirituality
@cillantro I'm Christian, but I believe that no matter what you believe you can be with God, because Jesus forgives even those who don't believe Him. And the Crusades were definitely wrong, we are called to non-resistance. Warfare is never truly justified, even as you fight for others.
@bluebunny61 Why do you say jesus would consider it wrong if someone believed something else than him?Why is he the ultimate? And if he was he would understand and would'nt have such a charitable attitude. He would be more understanding of people of other faiths.
Only the northern crusades and those against pagan people to convert them by force were wrong,in the case of islam, they provocated you first what with the conquest of spain etc.It was justifiable then.War is good when price is peace.
@cillantro Because in my mind and heart he is the way, the truth, and the life, and not by force. But you are not to fight evil with evil as a Christian, although most Christians are good at justifying it. If we were all non-resistant, there would be no need for violence in the first place. You don't have to be a so-called Christian to see that. Jesus gave himself and those he loved freely to the enemy, but in doing so he converted the enemy, who had less evil in him than before..
@cillantro Jesus never killed anybody for any cause. He only loved others, and hoped they'd love back. If you want true glory, go to the front lines unarmed.
@bluebunny61 So when your country calls yo to war, you will deny them? Say what you will, but hundreds denied Hitler when he called to arms and they paid with their lives. Those are true christians
The Crusades, first and foremost, were Defensive wars.
They were not fought by an expansionistic, imperialistic Christendom, but Rather by a Christendom that was at that time Shrinking, being slowly but surely overwhelmed by the advancing Islamic empires-into France, Siciliy, Spain and Portugal. “The Crusades were in every way a defensive war.
They were the West’s belated response to the Muslim conquest of fully two-thirds of the Christian world.' -Thomas Madden
@bluebunny61 That Jesus was some kind of peace and love guy is and always has been a myth.
Mark 7:9 has Jesus criticising the Jews for not killing disobedient children according to the laws of the Old Testament.
Luke 19:22-27 has Jesus ordering the death of those who do not obey him as King of Kings.
Read the Bible, you will find that Jesus is actually quite fond of slaughter and advocates it for a variety of reasons, the Crusades were in His name according to His word.
@Homoclassicus As for goodness,righteousness,christians/muslims don't know its meaning. The way chris/musl have treated jews,Gypsies and many other ethnic groups such as the native americans, black people in the african continents,Asians and so on in the name of religion and god,it is no surprise that majority of people in christian(western) countries are atheists or follow some other real faiths.Even in arabia(GCC) atheism is making inroads.Sorry for long answer and it was nice talking 2 u.cheers
@cillantro I was talking about the doctrines of religions, and not the peoples who followed this or that faith. Besides, as I said, I was stating my opinion and what I've read from some thinkers about the difference between the ancient religions focused on natural order and maintaining the link between mankind and the gods so that the world could go on "normally". The universal religions like Christianity had other focuses. And I don't judge what was better. Cheers!
AHH here we go with the big "BUT" at 9:22 as if that dismisses all the injustices of what the christian war lords did to the pagans, Saxons, black nobility moors, druids, Gypsies and Jews that were exterminated during the dark ages
these white supremacy historians love to create these apologetic documentaries with uplifting music and using that common phrase "the were trying to better themselves" yeah threw murdering, this has nothing to do with religion but the white mans psychotic nature
lol are you stupid? What does religious warfare have to do with "white power" you idiot? You need to realize that in the 11th and 12th centuries (not to mention earlier) there was no concept of race. Black nobility Moors? I had a nice laugh at that. If I had a nickle for every afro-centrist that thinks the Moors were black and are unable to see the CONTEMPORARY DEPICTIONS THE CASTILLIANS, ARAGONESE, PORTUGUESSE had of the Moors, I would be richer then Bill Gates.
You're totally partial. Christians did horrible things, just as the Islamic Caliphates and the Pagans. Should I remind you the vikings killed and destroyed everywhere in Europe and were totally Pagan until the 12-13th century? So any violence committed by Christians must be due to Christianity while the violence committed by a Pagan isn't due to Paganism? You're also terribly misinformed. Gypsies only came to Europe AFTER the Dark Ages. And moors were Berbers, i.e, WHITE people.
The crusades began as the Byzantine Emperor Alexius I sent his ambassadors to Pope Urban II requesting military aid to drive the Seljuk Turks from Anatolia. The Pope used this opportunity to expand the domain of the Roman Catholic Church and put the Holy Land under Catholic control. After 200 years, Western Europe had learned many knowledge from the Muslims and Byzantines. The power of Kings began to grow after many nobles were killed during the crusades.
@MrLantean Uh, from what I read, there's an important aspect of history that's been cut out from this picture. the Seljuq turks (a muslim nation btw), was the first aggressors.
@Mythik88 Actually, Mohammed himself was the first aggressor. He split the world into two factions.
The House of Islam, and the House of War. He encouraged his followers to "save" the outside world from the House of War and to bring them into the House of Islam.
The Crusaders had sworn to fight for Alexius I and to reconquer the holy lands and anatolia for him. And they broke their word because they wanted to be kings. Actually the Crusaders did recruited native troops like the orthodox Syrians but most of the Crusader Forces returned to Europe when Jerusalem was conquered. In fact, the catholic nations also used the Crusades to depolulate their lands, there was a mass of people and not enough food for them.. and what is better then a war?
@wilhelmrk The recruited natives Christians were few in numbers. Native Orthodox Christians were treated as a sort of second class citizens in the Holy land. Western European populations were encouraged to settle in the Holy Land. To the native Christians and Muslims, these Europeans were known as Franks. After almost a century, Catholic population was still a minority. After Saladin captured Jerusalem, Muslims and native Christians welcomed him as a liberator.
dood, what is up with the dark ages? So much bad shiz keeps happening over and over again. Damn, I would just kill myself if I had to live during these times.. and screw the vikings - they are just SCARY!! The Bloody Eagle wtf, seriously, wtf... why so much hatred back then? Its like no one had empathy back then...
@JacquesJoset "Too real" as in "Too truthful"-Although I have responded to your comment, I gain nothing by getting into an argument with you. You have already made up your mind. I can convince you of nothing.
Really? I thought I heard the narrator say "Liberate Jerusalem for the Christians"; that sort of sounds biased in favor of Christianity don't you think?
@PhilipineMan What people don't understand is that Jerusalem WAS a Christian city. Long before the birth of Islam, Jerusalem was a Christian City, filled with Christian churches, and housing Christian people.
When the Catholic Crusaders started re-subjugating Jerusalem it housed a dominantly Islamic population. Any former Christian inhabitants were nearly entirely Orthodox Christian. Comparing Orthodox Christianity to Catholicism is like comparing Spanish people to Russians. Now to mention Jerusalem was originally Jewish.
@PhilipineMan Actually, during the era of Roman Christianity, the entire empire's religion was led by the Church. The Great Schism was the thing that split the Catholic and Orthodox Churches.
I agree with you that Jerusalem was a Jewish city.
@PhilipineMan The Jews and Christians were minorities in Jerusalem. During the Crusades, Muslims and Jews were prohibited to live in the city and the native Christians were reduced to second class citizens. The Orthodox Church is regarded as subordinate to the Roman Catholic Church. The crusaders relied on fresh troops arriving from Western Europe for defence instead of recruiting native Christians or troops from the Byzantine Empire.
@sioux7000 hey, what can you say? Most people nowadays have this impression that all 2.1 billion christians around the world are a bunch of stinking, barbaric, dumb, violent and hypocritical set of people because of the actions of certain individuals in the name of christianity. Of course, if anyone does good is done in the name of christianity, who cares right?(martin luther king jr, mother teresa, archbishop desmond tutu etc..)
In the modern times christianity has nothing to do with western people.Church no longer has any significant membership in western world. If you are in a Muslim country or a some Asian countries Christians are still being killed in the name of westerners. Why the worlds humanists,or thinkers has a blind eye towards christian .
The Christianity is born in middle east Africans were first evangelized like Ethiopia is the best christian country in the world, still i often hear
@lmgtech yes, i agree with you that people turn a blind eye to the brutal persecutions christians suffer every day. Why are you arguing with me over that? I know that. Thats what im basically saying
Oh you black christianity is whites colonial religion that imposed on you ,you are foolish fellows following white masters.
The world has double standards on christianity.
The crusade was not so christian, but the crusade and the christian faith was the only things saved the white race, otherwise it will be like what happened to Assyrians,Copts ........ .
@lmgtech ??????????????? i dont know where that came from, and i was just criticizing the way the media portrays christianity. Since your a syrian orthodox christian, you should agree with me. So why the hell are you arguing with me -_-..................anyways christianity has been in africa long before the europeans got there. Just look at the ethiopian orthodox church.......
@jamaicanification mother teresa was a catholic, but anyway.. you could say that for all religions, but that doesnt mean it justifies the billions who died because of religion. Those people did good things for the sake of mankind, because they wanted to; not because of their stunted intellect, which is how most religious people are- against people's freedom and science, like stem cell research. when BAD is done as usual, people dont care and name a few names and say its ok. Hypocritical.
@gloryboxlock the 'billions'? That is a huge exaggeration. Do you have any official stats to back that up? And what about the millions who died in atheists regimes like the Soviet union or china and cambodia under atheistic manias like stalin, pol pot and mao? As to stem cell research, im ambivalent, and im not too concerned about it so i have no comment
@gloryboxlock Billions? Barely. Not even reaching the tens of millions. Even then Inquisitors and Crusaders only come AFTER all negotiations were done fruitlessly. Even with the inquisition, they allow exile or conversion. The Crusaders traded with Muslims and later had Muslim allies.
@HolyknightVader999 Even the Crusaders realized that it was more practically to befriend and alllied with various Muslim factions in the Near East. They knew a unified Muslim force like the one under Saladin could end their influence in the Near East. The Crusaders had little support from native Christians due to different church affiliations. Native Christians actually prefered Muslim rule over their co-religionists from the west.
@gloryboxlock Plus religion is for stem cell research, just not embryotic, which yields jack shit results. Amniotic cells already have cured thousands.
@HolyknightVader999 Christians see you as a sacred being. You are worth the world to us. You should not be killed, stolen from, no one should take your wife, you should be treated with respect. You should not be aborted. We value your life. We would never let your embryo be used for science. We value you more than every last cent of money in the world. You are a divine being. Yes you Holy knight. We would never take your embryo or any embryo and use it for science.
Religion wreaks havoc to this day. Not so much christians because of secular advances (made by atheists/agnostics like Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Abe Lincon... etc etc.)You can't try and deny or validate it.
islam never allowed such treatment of its citizens, instead it was the closest thing to a democracy at that time, which was un heard of by the poor european people being mistreated by such tyrants.
If your son or daughter died........you would not like it, youd be miserable, and grief ridden, etc........whether they are in heaven/with god/or reincarnated........because they were a part of ur life. And humans care about others close to them!!! empathy and love.
@D4K0T4375 Religion back then took over exactly because the states, political and cultural institutions and everything else failed. One has only to look what happened in order to know how the Church became so powerful and valued in the Middle Ages despite all its problems. Religion did NOTHING to make the last Roman emperors so violent and dumb, the migrant Germanics so destructive nor to make agriculture output and trade decrease. After that happened, only the Church remained as a "refuge".
@D4K0T4375 That is a mere rhetorical question to which I don't need to reply since my previous comment didn't even suggest that. You may be horrified if, for you, it's a sin to mention facts that prove the Church didn't "create" the Dark Ages and gained power in a broad context in which it was one of the very few stable, literate and unifying institutions still existing in an Europe that had started becoming chaotic a century before Christianity rose as an official religion.
Dirty people in ragged clothes who only scream and "whack-bang" at each other - a popular movie depiction. A show which claims to be "historically accurate" shouldnt look like a fantasy movie.
Despite the fact that everything you do is based on love, or receiving love. Everything. Its the reason you buy your things, do your work, search for girlfriends...I mean you dont just search for girls to reproduce, you do it because of LOVE! Havent you ever been in love? Dont you feel anything, dont you have heart! You dont. You have a closed heart and a closed mind on top of it. Open yourself up, brother. You must balance mind body and heart. You must evolve spiritually, thats all it is.
And thats part of what I think is most wrong with humanity, the idea that we always tend to look at the negative, focus on the imperfections and mistakes, instead of focusing on whats good and right and positive. Its a symptom that manifests in all types of different ways, war perhaps being the most extreme. We can stop all of this if we just choose to be positive and choose to focus on whats GOOD about life, and yes help perfect our imperfections and help those doing the same. We can do it!
@FightingForFreedom23 I might agree to humans "repenting" our animalistic ways, if it weren't for the fact that animals aren't psychologically disturbed and demented like humans are. As evidenced by belief in the supernatural and torturous "afterlife" scenarios as punishment that animals lack.
@GoldCoinCollector Well Im not as negative and pessimistic as that. Sure we humans have done some bad things, but we are learning. We are evolving out of the animal mentality. And you need to study the animal kingdom or go out into nature, its not all pretty okay. Its a very tough and rugged environment where everything competes with everything else for survival, and does NOT reflect how civilized human beings should behave. Im sorry you cant see that. We are more than animals in the jungles.
And actually there are "disturbed and demented" animals. For example people in Africa studying wild Elephants know that there are "rogue" Elephants who just go around attacking other Elephants for no reason. Same with lions, like one story of a pair of rogue male lions who would attack and kill humans without eating them. Ive seen a documentary about Chimpanzees who literally formed an army and went and attacked other chimp tribe, killing woman and babies! So this mentality is NOT just human.
@FightingForFreedom23 This is not to say that animals CAN"T be disturbed. But they are nowhere near the level of humans. I am sure you would agree that they lack belief in the supernatural. And you don't see any of them act as viciously as humans can when they inflict the kind of tortures shown in this documentary. And they don't subject their offspring to a brutal practice known as "circumcision" in the name of a religion or for simple conformity.
@FightingForFreedom23 I am curious as to why you harbor this prejudice towards non-human living things. It is illogical to blame ALL of our problems on simply being TOO animalistic. Like I said, no other animal worships non-existent deities.
@FightingForFreedom23 This tough rugged environment that animals compete with just to survive that you describe is them simply living their lives to the best of their ability. Something deranged humans that worship non-existent gods have lost the capacity to do. LIving your life to the best of your ability and taking care of yourself is most definitely the way civilized society should be.
@GoldCoinCollector Are you saying humans are disturbed and demented simply because they believe in God and the supernatural? Are you kidding? Well I believe in God and the supernatural, in fact Ive experienced it! Are you saying Im disturbed and demented, me, a good spiritual university student, leader of the debate team, editor of the newspaper? Youre crazy lol And Im not interested in haggling with you, youre obviously not interested in truth, just throwing around your disdain for God.
@FightingForFreedom23 You're ignoring the topic. Don't forget what started this. Your accusation that the cause of all of our problems can be traced back to being animalistic. And since I'm an atheist, there is no "god' to be disdainful of, just the belief in one.
@GoldCoinCollector No you said that anybody who believes in God and the supernatural is demented and disturbed. I take offense to that because it blatantly goes against what I know to be true, that is, the real reality of "spirits" and the supernatural. You have the nerve to say that about good God loving people, you have no right to say that. It just shows a prejudice and ignorance on your part that makes debating with you seem worthless. So again if youre not interested in truth, get lost!
@GoldCoinCollector Wait, you are using the word "inferior". I believe we are all souls and all souls are equal. But clearly, we are more evolved then animals are. You dont see animals building cities and irrigation, you dont see animals creating paintings and music, at least not anywhere near the same level as humans. Clearly, humans are more up the ladder of evolution, which if I understand right, you dont even believe in an evolutionary ladder. Well what do you believe in? Oh yea, nothing.
@FightingForFreedom23 You are correct. I do not accept anything without evidence. Therefore, I believe in nothing. And as I already told you, the scientific fact is that one species can't be more evolved than another. You can be highly intelligent and still be disturbed and mentally dysfunctional. All of the "achievements" of the human species, while they can be very good things in of themselves, do not change the fact that we are a psychologically fucked up species.
@GoldCoinCollector lol Youre putting your foot in your mouth. In one sentence you say I dont believe in anything because theres no evidence. In the very next sentence, youre like "its a scientific fact that animals cant be more evolved than other animals." Well why do they call it EVOLUTION then! haha I mean for God sakes, this guy has no fricken clue, does he. Well okay buddy, you have fun believing in nothing, and because of that, its clear that you have no idea whats real and what isnt.
@FightingForFreedom23 Evolution has no goal or purpose. It does not make value judgments. It can be through the means of natural selection, or artificial selection as in the case of pet dogs. Many dogs such as bulldogs and the Irish wolfhound have degenerated considerably from their wolf ancestors. They suffer from a lot of health problems as a result and cannot survive on their own. This is an example of evolution. But it doesn't mean they are better, quite the opposite.
@GoldCoinCollector My brother owns a bulldog, and hes doing just fine lol Hes not sick or with health problems. I mean what are you talking about lol Oh yea I forgot, you dont know what youre talking about, because you admittedly dont believe in anything. So why then are you here spouting out these beliefs like "There is no purpose to evolution, there is no God" you even go as far as to say I dont have to not believe in God because theres nothing to not believe in. God, talk about closedminded.
@GoldCoinCollector And oh yea, we are just naturally psychologically fucked up, all the good things we do, all the beauty and love doesnt matter. Well somebodys a Mr. Nasty today, what did you have a bad day or something? Why are you so negative and pessimistic? What about your life is so bad? What has somebody done to you to make you think humanity is just a bunch of retards? Well that would include you then, after all if youre human, and humans are naturally fucked up, you are fucked up too.
@GoldCoinCollector So you dont believe in anything, yet you believe that humans are psychologically fucked up. Well clearly you dont know what you believe in because you have no inclining of whats real and what isnt. You dont trust your intelligence, thats all it boils down to. And we humans might be psychology fucked up, but thats not our nature, thats not WHO WE ARE. We are brilliant, beautiful souls of great worth and value, we just believe we are fucked up and create a fucked up world.
@FightingForFreedom23 My assertion that humans are not right in the head is not only a response to your statement that our problems are all caused by our animalistic natures, it is also a response to people demonizing others for being "evil". I recognize the fact that they are merely the products of a sick species. It is extremely misguided to demonize them. "Evil" is just another label you attach to something you don't understand just like "supernatural".
@FightingForFreedom23 I have read many of your comments on documentaries about serial killers where you express great rage and hatred toward them. So don't tell me you don't judge. The fact that the human species as a whole is disturbed and the killers are merely a product of that makes a lot more rational sense than simply declaring them to be "evil" or "demonically possessed".
@GoldCoinCollector Yea I know you hound me and follow my video viewing, for whatever reason I dont know. Im just some guy, you dont need to be following me around. And yea when I hear stories of serial killers torturing and brutally killing poor women, I get real upset, because I love women and I love humanity, and I cant stand these people like you who dont respect people and dont put any value on anything but your own selfish egotistical ways. But I try to understand you, I really do.
@FightingForFreedom23 Why get upset if you believe in an afterlife? According to you, life goes on forever. So it's not technically murdering according to you.
@FightingForFreedom23 Why get upset? You believe in life after death. So, according to you life goes on forever. So then it would technically not be murder.
@GoldCoinCollector Okay well lets go by that train of thought. What happened to make humans so disturbed? What makes humans fight with each other, go conquer other peoples territories, keep other people down so they wont be a threat to you, what makes people do the bad things they do? Its because they are lower in the evolutionary ladder, where they think like animals. Animals are territorial, animals compete for mating and survival, animals only care about themselves and their own survival!
@FightingForFreedom23 No doubt the #1 thing that has lead us down the path toward insanity during the course of human evolution is once we were intelligent enough to really comprehend death, we were too cowardly to face up to the reality that you don't live on after you die. Humans in turn, invented afterlife scenarios to help them cope with it. This was the catalyst for what made us so disturbed. And naturally social control via religion immediately ensued after that and the rest is history.
@GoldCoinCollector And yes thats what evolution is. Evolution into LOVE. And GOD is love, everything in the universe first stems from the love of the father-mother God, just like every life in this universe stems from the love making of the male and female. Except if your an animal and only like animal sex! You really should listen to this, deep down, you know that this is the truth. Life is about love, and the more in love you are with life, the more evolved you are, and closer to God you are!
@FightingForFreedom23 In the case of domesticated animals, their well being depends entirely on the owner. Genetically, they are quite inferior to their wild counterparts and usually are less intelligent. Compare wild sheep to ones on the farm. There is enormous difference intelligence. I don't know where you get your stats from that domesticated are smarter or "more evolved". They may live longer than their wild counterparts ONLY if they have a good caretaker.
@FightingForFreedom23 The primary reason why people feel the desire for "romantic love" is because of a lack of love for themselves and a lack of parental attachment when they were young. A man who "falls in love" with a woman is really only projecting the image of his mother onto her. Not having a close connection with his primary caregiver, he never matured out of having that need. I mean come on. The need to be loved and cuddled is a need that an infant has. It is not for "love"
@GoldCoinCollector Because you are love. Cant you see it? And you have such flawed logic, people only want to love because they dont have love. Well no duh. Im talking about why people need love. And you need love too, dont bullshit me. Youre not with your girlfriend if you even have one, just because of sexual pleasure. If you are, youre a fuckin asshole and she deserves better. She deserves someone whos gonna love her unconditionally because thats WHO SHE IS. Your ignorance is astounding.
@FightingForFreedom23 Not that my personal life is any of your business, but what difference would it make if someone "loved" a girlfriend and was only interested in her for sexual pleasure or not. It should make no difference how he views her as long as she loves herself. Your masquerading respect for women. But what you are implicitly saying is that her worth is in how others see her. It is a very dangerous thing to rely on the worth and acceptance of others.
@GoldCoinCollector It makes tons of difference. If you only want your girlfriend for your own sexual pleasure, you are an ass, and she should dump your ass and find a better man, a real man. What kind of nonsense is this. You dont care about anybody but yourself, do you? You atheists really make me sick, in alot of ways. I care about you because your human beings with lives and feelings, but you dont seem to have any feelings, except hate and disdain and negativity. Its a damn shame.
@GoldCoinCollector Once you have real love for yourself, you dont need to be in the whole "inferior-superior" complex which is just another way of saying if something is worthy of love and respect. We all have different characteristics, we might be on different levels of evolution, but none are superior or inferior to other things, because ALL IS LOVE. We seen the atheists and social darwinists caught in the inferiority game who think its okay to go KILL those who are inferior. Its a big CROCK.
@FightingForFreedom23 I have plenty of love for myself because I don't need these man the made crutches that you are describing to be happy, you apparently do.
@GoldCoinCollector I highly doubt it. Because people who love themselves also love others. People who dont love themselves cant find anything to love about anything. Its basic psychology. And I have alot of love for myself, and it pains me to see people hurting, it pains me to see people who dont love themselves and cant feel the fulfillment that comes from love, and I want to help them, because Im love! You arent love, you only are in FEAR of your own survival, what you call "love" of self.
@FightingForFreedom23 You are correct that people who can't love themselves can't love others. And yes, being in "fear" of survival is rather necessary for your chances at it and your overall well-being. As is the case of all living things.
@GoldCoinCollector Right and thats where you fall in. Saying youre only with your girl for sexual pleasure, what kind of crap is that. Saying you dont care what other people think, you dont have any love at all. And Im sorry for that, I dont like seeing it. I want people to be happy and fulfilled, not oh this world is so fucked up, everything is worthless, I hate this life, I have no love for myself or my life...thats what so many people feel, including you I know..and it breaks my heart!
@FightingForFreedom23 You are truly the king of the straw man arguments. I didn't say any of that. You only say that I did. I obviously care what you think or I wouldn't respond to you.
@GoldCoinCollector No its not, its you being negative and pessimistic. Sure its a truth that we have done some bad things, but its not the highest truth, which is what Im interested in. The highest truth is we are all love, born of love, on a path to return to love, and God is love. One of these days, you will understand this. Its something the religions even have taught but they dont follow their own teachings, they twist their teachings and turn religion into something not of God and love.
@FightingForFreedom23 According to you, I will live on after I die. So answer these two questions. Why do you get so enraged when people murder each other since it's not technically murder if there is an afterlife? And what do I as an atheist have to loose if I am going to live on forever and see that I have been"wrong this entire time? These attitudes you harbor toward these people is not logically consistent with an eternal afterlife if you don't believe in eternal hell like christians do.
@GoldCoinCollector Because love is life! You are born out of love, and when you have love, you become alive! Like I am, I a very lively, very passionate, because I have alot of love! And yes it angers me when I see people who dont respect life, dont have any love for other people, so much so that they will KILL them for their own selfish pleasure. Its SICKENING to see these poor beautiful loving girls DIE because of fools. But lucky for them, life is eternal, but they will still answer to God!
@GoldCoinCollector I try my best not to judge others for being wrong. I dont always live up to it, but that is my intent. I wish atheists would have the same spirit of not judging things they think are wrong, like religion. You hate religion, you think the very idea of believing in God is demented and sick, you think we are psychology disturbed for believing in an afterlife, when I experienced it lol I dont know what your intent is, but I know it isnt of the highest truth.
@FightingForFreedom23 If there was an afterlife, it would make no rational since to care about your life or get upset when people are murdered since life would be eternal. I as an atheist recognize this is my ONE and ONLY. Therefore I definitely care about it. So like I said, enjoy it while you've got.
@GoldCoinCollector It does make sense because the reason youre living is to learn how to love. If you dont learn how to love, you arent evolving. If you reject love and embrace fear and negativity, you are devolving. Why cant you see that? I seriously just dont get you. Your beliefs are so simple minded, I just cant believe any smart person would believe such things. You even go so far as to say "There is nothing to not believe in because there is nothing to not believe in" Its just ludicrous.
@GoldCoinCollector You dont lose anything, you just will be shown that you were wrong. I dont judge you for being wrong though, neither does God. God is love, remember that. Im not perfect either, I still judge others sometimes, I still get angry, I still am frustrated when I see people who hurt other people and use them instead of loving and helping them. Im still on a path back to perfection myself. And that path inevitably leads to God and love. Its the essence of our evolutionary path.
@FightingForFreedom23 "I dont judge you for being wrong though, neither does God." I thought the opposite was true. I thought that the main thing God cares about is that you believe in him. So if you're "wrong" and don't believe in him you go to hell. I find it hard to believe that God doesn't judge, otherwise there obviously can never be a Judgement Day, lol.
@GoldCoinCollector And I seen you use words like "inferior" many times, youre clearly still caught in this inferiority-superiority complex, which is false. Its only a reflection of whats going on within you, everywhere you look you are judging things as being inferior or superior to everything else, and you judge yourself more than anything. Go study psychology, only INSECURE people are caught in that complex, trying to figure out if they are worthy of not. Well you are, and so is everyone else!

goddammit what about the caliphates, they were the one that advanced thru those fields, that paved the path for western civilizations to become the great beacon of hope they are now
worldofpaul12 2 weeks ago

And all these soldiers come out of nowhere to fight the vikings and then they serve lords? this documentary is playing fast and loose.
vaevictus 4 months ago
@vaevictus The barbarians were unable to capture Constantinople mainly because of its great defensive walls. So they turned to the much weaker Western Roman Empire. This allowed the Eastern Roman Empire to rebuild and consolidated its authority. The knowledge of classical learnings were therefore preserved throughout major cities in the east. The crusaders themselves behaved like the barbarians of Late Antiquity plundering their way to Jerusalem under the sign of the Cross.
MrLantean 2 months ago
@MrLantean Because the Byzantines starved them and didn't pay them. So they had to live off the land. Had the Byzantines manned up and dealt with the Seljuks on their own rather than use the Crusaders as meat shields against them, there would've been no crusade in the first place.
HolyknightVader999 2 months ago
@HolyknightVader999 The Byzantines never expected thousands of Western Europeans would answer their request for military assistance. They expected perhaps several hundreds mercenaries from the West. The Pope used this as an opportunity to spread Roman Catholic influence in the east. They came and conquer Jerusalem instead of helping the Byzantines to recover Anatolia from the Seljuk Turks.

@MrLantean That's because the Emperor's message was all about the persecution of Christian pilgrims.

I don't think whole races should be labelled evil..but remember whethere they were evil or not, christianity allowed them to unite all this energy for destructive/repressive purposes, such as spreading the word by sword....I am not just talking about the western asian crusades but mainly the northern european aka baltic crusades! What sort of crap was that?Even the romans did'nt do anything like that while they easily could have done so had they wanted!Pagan europe(Greece, rome, celts etc)was best!!
cillantro 7 months ago
@cillantro Oh, come on. Before Christianity, Celts and Germanics expanded as warrior societies that even had specific gods of war. Rome and Greece created an imperialism that included genocides of entire peoples (or what happened in Carthage?). You seem to underestimate the capacity for evil of Romans. They tried to assimilate populations later because of necessity to govern a huge territory, but they killed millions and eliminated entire nations (and tried to do so with the Jews).
Homoclassicus 6 months ago
@Homoclassicus They did have a capacity for evil, but naturalism and polytheism were the two yokes or anvils which kept them rooted. These people u mention were individual emperors/dictators who decided to go on and carry such brutal campaigns.Never did rome for example carry out such barbaric campaigns in the name of sol invictus for example.Christianity sort of brought a central command which channelised all this evil an unleashed a new and repressive force on the west as did Islam in the east..
cillantro 6 months ago
Of course the conquests of Rome weren't carried only by emperors. Roman senators repeatedly CALLED for the genocide of Carthage. The imperial enterprise involved the whole society, which pretended to do so for the so called "civilized" and "superior" ways and values of Rome, a proto-nazism. The Sol Invictus was a late cult. In fact, Christianity was persecuted by the elite as noxious to the obedience to the central Empire and its rise was actually was accompanied by the FALL of central command.
Homoclassicus 6 months ago
@Homoclassicus That begets the point which was before chris/islam,people fought for power and wealth.Religion was never a part of the equation. The Lithuanians for example practised their native naturalist faith as they had up until the northern crusades of the 15th centuries!!! This was because of the religious tolerance of previous non-christian emprie and because of their relative isolation that kept them away from the eye of the church!Roman,Greek pre-christians had a republic long before us!
cillantro 6 months ago
@cillantro Well, the Romans and Greeks destroyed all their Republican principles centuries before Christianity was even remotely important. It's obvious good things didn't begin with Christianity, nor is it true that Christianity destroyed a wonderful Pagan world. Philosophers have already discussed this: ancient religions were national and linked their gods only to their believers (the tribe, the people). They wouldn't want their religion to be spread to others.
Homoclassicus 6 months ago
@cillantro (continuation) The trend to include religion in the "equation" begun after the so called Axis Age with the universalist religions, of which Christianity was just one of quite a few. As they intend to be "universal truth", those religions "bother" to expand their message in a way that ancient religions couldn't grasp, because the Pagans really meant their faith to be only theirs, since their gods had a special, exclusive link with them and granted them exclusive favors and powers.
Homoclassicus 6 months ago
@Homoclassicus and you are supporting those universalist religions because???What I am saying is the world already has its share of problems, including religion in the equation is one of the biggest problems at present.Imagine a world where there was either no religion or only the true naturalism/paganism...just the way it was before these so called ""true"" religions sprung up!I would have loved to live in say...anceint egypt or anceint India...today's world is not as good,is it?I dnt think so..
cillantro 6 months ago
That's a matter of priorities and values. I think the current societies are much more unified and humanist than the ancient ones, which, for all the beauty of their "naturalism", considered essential maintaining the "natural law and order" and not the ethics and problems of individuals with rights. In India, the movement of "univesal religions" didn't win - and we know it's one of the unfairest and more divided civilizations (chastes!) with lots of attacks of Hinduists against other faiths.
Homoclassicus 6 months ago
@Homoclassicus Universalist religions are plain evil. And about caste, remember christian/muslims in India are the ones who abuse the caste system.Caste system existed everywhere.Let it be the trade guilds of europe, last names like shepherd, smith and so on,what did they signify?A person's caste. In India what you think of as caste is called the varna. No english translation and hence the brits used the european word caste to divide and conquer.India had no slavery or antisemitism. The fairest society
cillantro 6 months ago

If so called lower castes realised they were never ill treated, who will they vote for?Real leader, not current scum!!
cillantro 6 months ago
@Homoclassicus U are talking about modern India with its filthy politicians and democratic institutions pioneered by the faithfull in the west like yourself to keep the monarchies, megacorps and wealthy ones in power while giving others the illusion power. The Hindus have been suffering at the hands of other faiths for 1000+ years thanks to their nature of believing in "vasudeva kutumbakam" which means all humanhs r one family. Now christian/islamic racists and zealots cannot understand this at all
cillantro 6 months ago
@cillantro As for my "support", that's a theological opinion: I think the universalist religions have doctrines that try to define ethics, the meaning of life and the idea of a universal "path to salvation" that to the ancient religions didn't matter. Those were based on utilitarism (Gods' worship mattered if they favoured you), exchange (e.g. kill animals to have good harvest) and obedience to natural order ("nature" matters more than righteousness and mankind, wisdom more than goodness).
Homoclassicus 6 months ago
@Homoclassicus Universalist religions are unethical.Hinduism, buddhism etc believe that the destnation(god) is one but paths are different. What do universalist religion believe? In hell if you don't believe in them! They believe non-believers are kaffirs,sinners.Sub-human is what they consider non-belivers,atheists and people of other faiths.Universalist faiths are mere political religions meant to unify people so some(pope, mullahs, caliphs, emperors)can have power.Naturalism, hindusim is spirituality
cillantro 6 months ago
@cillantro I'm Christian, but I believe that no matter what you believe you can be with God, because Jesus forgives even those who don't believe Him. And the Crusades were definitely wrong, we are called to non-resistance. Warfare is never truly justified, even as you fight for others.
bluebunny61 5 months ago
@bluebunny61 Why do you say jesus would consider it wrong if someone believed something else than him?Why is he the ultimate? And if he was he would understand and would'nt have such a charitable attitude. He would be more understanding of people of other faiths.
Only the northern crusades and those against pagan people to convert them by force were wrong,in the case of islam, they provocated you first what with the conquest of spain etc.It was justifiable then.War is good when price is peace.
cillantro 5 months ago
@cillantro Because in my mind and heart he is the way, the truth, and the life, and not by force. But you are not to fight evil with evil as a Christian, although most Christians are good at justifying it. If we were all non-resistant, there would be no need for violence in the first place. You don't have to be a so-called Christian to see that. Jesus gave himself and those he loved freely to the enemy, but in doing so he converted the enemy, who had less evil in him than before..

StSimonMartyr 1 week ago
@bluebunny61 That Jesus was some kind of peace and love guy is and always has been a myth.
Mark 7:9 has Jesus criticising the Jews for not killing disobedient children according to the laws of the Old Testament.
Luke 19:22-27 has Jesus ordering the death of those who do not obey him as King of Kings.
Read the Bible, you will find that Jesus is actually quite fond of slaughter and advocates it for a variety of reasons, the Crusades were in His name according to His word.
Injektilo7 3 months ago
@Injektilo7 Actually, He never did say such things, and that's the wrong verse you're quoting.
And Jesus never said anything about killing people, just saying that those who live by the sword shall die by the sword.

cillantro 6 months ago
@cillantro I was talking about the doctrines of religions, and not the peoples who followed this or that faith. Besides, as I said, I was stating my opinion and what I've read from some thinkers about the difference between the ancient religions focused on natural order and maintaining the link between mankind and the gods so that the world could go on "normally". The universal religions like Christianity had other focuses. And I don't judge what was better. Cheers!

SirDrako12xx 8 months ago
The crusades began as the Byzantine Emperor Alexius I sent his ambassadors to Pope Urban II requesting military aid to drive the Seljuk Turks from Anatolia. The Pope used this opportunity to expand the domain of the Roman Catholic Church and put the Holy Land under Catholic control. After 200 years, Western Europe had learned many knowledge from the Muslims and Byzantines. The power of Kings began to grow after many nobles were killed during the crusades.

In fact, the catholic nations also used the Crusades to depolulate their lands, there was a mass of people and not enough food for them.. and what is better then a war?
wilhelmrk 9 months ago
@wilhelmrk The recruited natives Christians were few in numbers. Native Orthodox Christians were treated as a sort of second class citizens in the Holy land. Western European populations were encouraged to settle in the Holy Land. To the native Christians and Muslims, these Europeans were known as Franks. After almost a century, Catholic population was still a minority. After Saladin captured Jerusalem, Muslims and native Christians welcomed him as a liberator.

sioux7000 1 year ago
@sioux7000
Really? I thought I heard the narrator say "Liberate Jerusalem for the Christians"; that sort of sounds biased in favor of Christianity don't you think?
PhilipineMan 11 months ago
@PhilipineMan What people don't understand is that Jerusalem WAS a Christian city. Long before the birth of Islam, Jerusalem was a Christian City, filled with Christian churches, and housing Christian people.
AqworldsWiki 11 months ago
When the Catholic Crusaders started re-subjugating Jerusalem it housed a dominantly Islamic population. Any former Christian inhabitants were nearly entirely Orthodox Christian. Comparing Orthodox Christianity to Catholicism is like comparing Spanish people to Russians. Now to mention Jerusalem was originally Jewish.
PhilipineMan 11 months ago
@PhilipineMan Actually, during the era of Roman Christianity, the entire empire's religion was led by the Church. The Great Schism was the thing that split the Catholic and Orthodox Churches.
I agree with you that Jerusalem was a Jewish city.
AqworldsWiki 11 months ago

Of course, if anyone does good is done in the name of christianity, who cares right?(martin luther king jr, mother teresa, archbishop desmond tutu etc..)
jamaicanification 11 months ago 14
@jamaicanification
In the modern times christianity has nothing to do with western people.Church no longer has any significant membership in western world. If you are in a Muslim country or a some Asian countries Christians are still being killed in the name of westerners. Why the worlds humanists,or thinkers has a blind eye towards christian .
The Christianity is born in middle east Africans were first evangelized like Ethiopia is the best christian country in the world, still i often hear
lmgtech 3 months ago
@lmgtech yes, i agree with you that people turn a blind eye to the brutal persecutions christians suffer every day. Why are you arguing with me over that? I know that. Thats what im basically saying

@jamaicanification
Oh you black christianity is whites colonial religion that imposed on you ,you are foolish fellows following white masters.
The world has double standards on christianity.
The crusade was not so christian, but the crusade and the christian faith was the only things saved the white race, otherwise it will be like what happened to Assyrians,Copts ........ .
I am Syrian orthodox christian
lmgtech 3 months ago
@lmgtech ??????????????? i dont know where that came from, and i was just criticizing the way the media portrays christianity. Since your a syrian orthodox christian, you should agree with me. So why the hell are you arguing with me -_-..................anyways christianity has been in africa long before the europeans got there. Just look at the ethiopian orthodox church.......

@jamaicanification Well, they'll be surprised when their media illusions backfire on them.
HolyknightVader999 3 months ago
@jamaicanification mother teresa was a catholic, but anyway.. you could say that for all religions, but that doesnt mean it justifies the billions who died because of religion. Those people did good things for the sake of mankind, because they wanted to; not because of their stunted intellect, which is how most religious people are- against people's freedom and science, like stem cell research. when BAD is done as usual, people dont care and name a few names and say its ok. Hypocritical.
gloryboxlock 3 months ago
@gloryboxlock the 'billions'? That is a huge exaggeration. Do you have any official stats to back that up? And what about the millions who died in atheists regimes like the Soviet union or china and cambodia under atheistic manias like stalin, pol pot and mao? As to stem cell research, im ambivalent, and im not too concerned about it so i have no comment
jamaicanification 3 months ago
@gloryboxlock Billions? Barely. Not even reaching the tens of millions. Even then Inquisitors and Crusaders only come AFTER all negotiations were done fruitlessly. Even with the inquisition, they allow exile or conversion. The Crusaders traded with Muslims and later had Muslim allies.
HolyknightVader999 2 months ago
@HolyknightVader999 Even the Crusaders realized that it was more practically to befriend and alllied with various Muslim factions in the Near East. They knew a unified Muslim force like the one under Saladin could end their influence in the Near East. The Crusaders had little support from native Christians due to different church affiliations. Native Christians actually prefered Muslim rule over their co-religionists from the west.
MrLantean 2 months ago
@MrLantean Not really, no. They preferred the Byzantines to both of them.
HolyknightVader999 1 month ago
@gloryboxlock Plus religion is for stem cell research, just not embryotic, which yields jack shit results. Amniotic cells already have cured thousands.
HolyknightVader999 2 months ago
@HolyknightVader999 Christians see you as a sacred being. You are worth the world to us. You should not be killed, stolen from, no one should take your wife, you should be treated with respect. You should not be aborted. We value your life. We would never let your embryo be used for science. We value you more than every last cent of money in the world. You are a divine being. Yes you Holy knight. We would never take your embryo or any embryo and use it for science.

well when religion took over it looks like society did pretty good.
D4K0T4375 1 year ago
@D4K0T4375 Religion back then took over exactly because the states, political and cultural institutions and everything else failed. One has only to look what happened in order to know how the Church became so powerful and valued in the Middle Ages despite all its problems. Religion did NOTHING to make the last Roman emperors so violent and dumb, the migrant Germanics so destructive nor to make agriculture output and trade decrease. After that happened, only the Church remained as a "refuge".
Homoclassicus 6 months ago
@Homoclassicus so killing everybody who doesnt follow your religion is justified?
D4K0T4375 6 months ago
@D4K0T4375 That is a mere rhetorical question to which I don't need to reply since my previous comment didn't even suggest that. You may be horrified if, for you, it's a sin to mention facts that prove the Church didn't "create" the Dark Ages and gained power in a broad context in which it was one of the very few stable, literate and unifying institutions still existing in an Europe that had started becoming chaotic a century before Christianity rose as an official religion.
Homoclassicus 6 months ago

Despite the fact that everything you do is based on love, or receiving love. Everything. Its the reason you buy your things, do your work, search for girlfriends...I mean you dont just search for girls to reproduce, you do it because of LOVE! Havent you ever been in love? Dont you feel anything, dont you have heart! You dont. You have a closed heart and a closed mind on top of it. Open yourself up, brother. You must balance mind body and heart. You must evolve spiritually, thats all it is.
FightingForFreedom23 1 year ago
And thats part of what I think is most wrong with humanity, the idea that we always tend to look at the negative, focus on the imperfections and mistakes, instead of focusing on whats good and right and positive. Its a symptom that manifests in all types of different ways, war perhaps being the most extreme. We can stop all of this if we just choose to be positive and choose to focus on whats GOOD about life, and yes help perfect our imperfections and help those doing the same. We can do it!
FightingForFreedom23 1 year ago
@FightingForFreedom23 I might agree to humans "repenting" our animalistic ways, if it weren't for the fact that animals aren't psychologically disturbed and demented like humans are. As evidenced by belief in the supernatural and torturous "afterlife" scenarios as punishment that animals lack.
GoldCoinCollector 1 year ago
@GoldCoinCollector Well Im not as negative and pessimistic as that. Sure we humans have done some bad things, but we are learning. We are evolving out of the animal mentality. And you need to study the animal kingdom or go out into nature, its not all pretty okay. Its a very tough and rugged environment where everything competes with everything else for survival, and does NOT reflect how civilized human beings should behave. Im sorry you cant see that. We are more than animals in the jungles.
FightingForFreedom23 1 year ago
And actually there are "disturbed and demented" animals. For example people in Africa studying wild Elephants know that there are "rogue" Elephants who just go around attacking other Elephants for no reason. Same with lions, like one story of a pair of rogue male lions who would attack and kill humans without eating them. Ive seen a documentary about Chimpanzees who literally formed an army and went and attacked other chimp tribe, killing woman and babies! So this mentality is NOT just human.
FightingForFreedom23 1 year ago
@FightingForFreedom23 This is not to say that animals CAN"T be disturbed. But they are nowhere near the level of humans. I am sure you would agree that they lack belief in the supernatural. And you don't see any of them act as viciously as humans can when they inflict the kind of tortures shown in this documentary. And they don't subject their offspring to a brutal practice known as "circumcision" in the name of a religion or for simple conformity.
GoldCoinCollector 1 year ago
@FightingForFreedom23 I am curious as to why you harbor this prejudice towards non-human living things. It is illogical to blame ALL of our problems on simply being TOO animalistic. Like I said, no other animal worships non-existent deities.
GoldCoinCollector 1 year ago
@FightingForFreedom23 This tough rugged environment that animals compete with just to survive that you describe is them simply living their lives to the best of their ability. Something deranged humans that worship non-existent gods have lost the capacity to do. LIving your life to the best of your ability and taking care of yourself is most definitely the way civilized society should be.
GoldCoinCollector 1 year ago
@GoldCoinCollector Are you saying humans are disturbed and demented simply because they believe in God and the supernatural? Are you kidding? Well I believe in God and the supernatural, in fact Ive experienced it! Are you saying Im disturbed and demented, me, a good spiritual university student, leader of the debate team, editor of the newspaper? Youre crazy lol And Im not interested in haggling with you, youre obviously not interested in truth, just throwing around your disdain for God.
FightingForFreedom23 1 year ago
@FightingForFreedom23 You're ignoring the topic. Don't forget what started this. Your accusation that the cause of all of our problems can be traced back to being animalistic. And since I'm an atheist, there is no "god' to be disdainful of, just the belief in one.
GoldCoinCollector 1 year ago
@GoldCoinCollector No you said that anybody who believes in God and the supernatural is demented and disturbed. I take offense to that because it blatantly goes against what I know to be true, that is, the real reality of "spirits" and the supernatural. You have the nerve to say that about good God loving people, you have no right to say that. It just shows a prejudice and ignorance on your part that makes debating with you seem worthless. So again if youre not interested in truth, get lost!
FightingForFreedom23 1 year ago
@FightingForFreedom23 That was in response to your accusation that animals are overall inferior to humans.
GoldCoinCollector 1 year ago
@GoldCoinCollector Wait, you are using the word "inferior". I believe we are all souls and all souls are equal. But clearly, we are more evolved then animals are. You dont see animals building cities and irrigation, you dont see animals creating paintings and music, at least not anywhere near the same level as humans. Clearly, humans are more up the ladder of evolution, which if I understand right, you dont even believe in an evolutionary ladder. Well what do you believe in? Oh yea, nothing.
FightingForFreedom23 1 year ago
@FightingForFreedom23 You are correct. I do not accept anything without evidence. Therefore, I believe in nothing. And as I already told you, the scientific fact is that one species can't be more evolved than another. You can be highly intelligent and still be disturbed and mentally dysfunctional. All of the "achievements" of the human species, while they can be very good things in of themselves, do not change the fact that we are a psychologically fucked up species.
GoldCoinCollector 1 year ago
@GoldCoinCollector lol Youre putting your foot in your mouth. In one sentence you say I dont believe in anything because theres no evidence. In the very next sentence, youre like "its a scientific fact that animals cant be more evolved than other animals." Well why do they call it EVOLUTION then! haha I mean for God sakes, this guy has no fricken clue, does he. Well okay buddy, you have fun believing in nothing, and because of that, its clear that you have no idea whats real and what isnt.
FightingForFreedom23 1 year ago
@FightingForFreedom23 Evolution has no goal or purpose. It does not make value judgments. It can be through the means of natural selection, or artificial selection as in the case of pet dogs. Many dogs such as bulldogs and the Irish wolfhound have degenerated considerably from their wolf ancestors. They suffer from a lot of health problems as a result and cannot survive on their own. This is an example of evolution. But it doesn't mean they are better, quite the opposite.
GoldCoinCollector 1 year ago
@GoldCoinCollector My brother owns a bulldog, and hes doing just fine lol Hes not sick or with health problems. I mean what are you talking about lol Oh yea I forgot, you dont know what youre talking about, because you admittedly dont believe in anything. So why then are you here spouting out these beliefs like "There is no purpose to evolution, there is no God" you even go as far as to say I dont have to not believe in God because theres nothing to not believe in. God, talk about closedminded.
FightingForFreedom23 1 year ago
@FightingForFreedom23 Because I respond to what people say.
GoldCoinCollector 1 year ago
@GoldCoinCollector And oh yea, we are just naturally psychologically fucked up, all the good things we do, all the beauty and love doesnt matter. Well somebodys a Mr. Nasty today, what did you have a bad day or something? Why are you so negative and pessimistic? What about your life is so bad? What has somebody done to you to make you think humanity is just a bunch of retards? Well that would include you then, after all if youre human, and humans are naturally fucked up, you are fucked up too.
FightingForFreedom23 1 year ago
@GoldCoinCollector So you dont believe in anything, yet you believe that humans are psychologically fucked up. Well clearly you dont know what you believe in because you have no inclining of whats real and what isnt. You dont trust your intelligence, thats all it boils down to. And we humans might be psychology fucked up, but thats not our nature, thats not WHO WE ARE. We are brilliant, beautiful souls of great worth and value, we just believe we are fucked up and create a fucked up world.
FightingForFreedom23 1 year ago
@FightingForFreedom23 My assertion that humans are not right in the head is not only a response to your statement that our problems are all caused by our animalistic natures, it is also a response to people demonizing others for being "evil". I recognize the fact that they are merely the products of a sick species. It is extremely misguided to demonize them. "Evil" is just another label you attach to something you don't understand just like "supernatural".
GoldCoinCollector 1 year ago
@FightingForFreedom23 I have read many of your comments on documentaries about serial killers where you express great rage and hatred toward them. So don't tell me you don't judge. The fact that the human species as a whole is disturbed and the killers are merely a product of that makes a lot more rational sense than simply declaring them to be "evil" or "demonically possessed".
GoldCoinCollector 1 year ago
@GoldCoinCollector Yea I know you hound me and follow my video viewing, for whatever reason I dont know. Im just some guy, you dont need to be following me around. And yea when I hear stories of serial killers torturing and brutally killing poor women, I get real upset, because I love women and I love humanity, and I cant stand these people like you who dont respect people and dont put any value on anything but your own selfish egotistical ways. But I try to understand you, I really do.
FightingForFreedom23 1 year ago
@FightingForFreedom23 Why get upset if you believe in an afterlife? According to you, life goes on forever. So it's not technically murdering according to you.
GoldCoinCollector 1 year ago
@FightingForFreedom23 Why get upset? You believe in life after death. So, according to you life goes on forever. So then it would technically not be murder.
GoldCoinCollector 1 year ago
@GoldCoinCollector Okay well lets go by that train of thought. What happened to make humans so disturbed? What makes humans fight with each other, go conquer other peoples territories, keep other people down so they wont be a threat to you, what makes people do the bad things they do? Its because they are lower in the evolutionary ladder, where they think like animals. Animals are territorial, animals compete for mating and survival, animals only care about themselves and their own survival!
FightingForFreedom23 1 year ago
@FightingForFreedom23 No doubt the #1 thing that has lead us down the path toward insanity during the course of human evolution is once we were intelligent enough to really comprehend death, we were too cowardly to face up to the reality that you don't live on after you die. Humans in turn, invented afterlife scenarios to help them cope with it. This was the catalyst for what made us so disturbed. And naturally social control via religion immediately ensued after that and the rest is history.
GoldCoinCollector 1 year ago
@GoldCoinCollector And yes thats what evolution is. Evolution into LOVE. And GOD is love, everything in the universe first stems from the love of the father-mother God, just like every life in this universe stems from the love making of the male and female. Except if your an animal and only like animal sex! You really should listen to this, deep down, you know that this is the truth. Life is about love, and the more in love you are with life, the more evolved you are, and closer to God you are!
FightingForFreedom23 1 year ago
@FightingForFreedom23 In the case of domesticated animals, their well being depends entirely on the owner. Genetically, they are quite inferior to their wild counterparts and usually are less intelligent. Compare wild sheep to ones on the farm. There is enormous difference intelligence. I don't know where you get your stats from that domesticated are smarter or "more evolved". They may live longer than their wild counterparts ONLY if they have a good caretaker.
GoldCoinCollector 1 year ago
@FightingForFreedom23 The primary reason why people feel the desire for "romantic love" is because of a lack of love for themselves and a lack of parental attachment when they were young. A man who "falls in love" with a woman is really only projecting the image of his mother onto her. Not having a close connection with his primary caregiver, he never matured out of having that need. I mean come on. The need to be loved and cuddled is a need that an infant has. It is not for "love"
GoldCoinCollector 1 year ago
@GoldCoinCollector Because you are love. Cant you see it? And you have such flawed logic, people only want to love because they dont have love. Well no duh. Im talking about why people need love. And you need love too, dont bullshit me. Youre not with your girlfriend if you even have one, just because of sexual pleasure. If you are, youre a fuckin asshole and she deserves better. She deserves someone whos gonna love her unconditionally because thats WHO SHE IS. Your ignorance is astounding.
FightingForFreedom23 1 year ago
@FightingForFreedom23 Not that my personal life is any of your business, but what difference would it make if someone "loved" a girlfriend and was only interested in her for sexual pleasure or not. It should make no difference how he views her as long as she loves herself. Your masquerading respect for women. But what you are implicitly saying is that her worth is in how others see her. It is a very dangerous thing to rely on the worth and acceptance of others.
GoldCoinCollector 1 year ago
@GoldCoinCollector It makes tons of difference. If you only want your girlfriend for your own sexual pleasure, you are an ass, and she should dump your ass and find a better man, a real man. What kind of nonsense is this. You dont care about anybody but yourself, do you? You atheists really make me sick, in alot of ways. I care about you because your human beings with lives and feelings, but you dont seem to have any feelings, except hate and disdain and negativity. Its a damn shame.
FightingForFreedom23 1 year ago
@FightingForFreedom23 All the negativity and disdain you describe is simply me embracing reality.
GoldCoinCollector 1 year ago
@GoldCoinCollector Once you have real love for yourself, you dont need to be in the whole "inferior-superior" complex which is just another way of saying if something is worthy of love and respect. We all have different characteristics, we might be on different levels of evolution, but none are superior or inferior to other things, because ALL IS LOVE. We seen the atheists and social darwinists caught in the inferiority game who think its okay to go KILL those who are inferior. Its a big CROCK.
FightingForFreedom23 1 year ago
@FightingForFreedom23 I used the term inferior in the objective since to describe the genetic makeup of wild vs. domesticated animals.
GoldCoinCollector 1 year ago
@FightingForFreedom23 I have plenty of love for myself because I don't need these man the made crutches that you are describing to be happy, you apparently do.
GoldCoinCollector 1 year ago
@GoldCoinCollector I highly doubt it. Because people who love themselves also love others. People who dont love themselves cant find anything to love about anything. Its basic psychology. And I have alot of love for myself, and it pains me to see people hurting, it pains me to see people who dont love themselves and cant feel the fulfillment that comes from love, and I want to help them, because Im love! You arent love, you only are in FEAR of your own survival, what you call "love" of self.
FightingForFreedom23 1 year ago
@FightingForFreedom23 You are correct that people who can't love themselves can't love others. And yes, being in "fear" of survival is rather necessary for your chances at it and your overall well-being. As is the case of all living things.
GoldCoinCollector 1 year ago
@GoldCoinCollector Right and thats where you fall in. Saying youre only with your girl for sexual pleasure, what kind of crap is that. Saying you dont care what other people think, you dont have any love at all. And Im sorry for that, I dont like seeing it. I want people to be happy and fulfilled, not oh this world is so fucked up, everything is worthless, I hate this life, I have no love for myself or my life...thats what so many people feel, including you I know..and it breaks my heart!
FightingForFreedom23 1 year ago
@FightingForFreedom23 You are truly the king of the straw man arguments. I didn't say any of that. You only say that I did. I obviously care what you think or I wouldn't respond to you.
GoldCoinCollector 1 year ago
@GoldCoinCollector No its not, its you being negative and pessimistic. Sure its a truth that we have done some bad things, but its not the highest truth, which is what Im interested in. The highest truth is we are all love, born of love, on a path to return to love, and God is love. One of these days, you will understand this. Its something the religions even have taught but they dont follow their own teachings, they twist their teachings and turn religion into something not of God and love.
FightingForFreedom23 1 year ago
@FightingForFreedom23 According to you, I will live on after I die. So answer these two questions. Why do you get so enraged when people murder each other since it's not technically murder if there is an afterlife? And what do I as an atheist have to loose if I am going to live on forever and see that I have been"wrong this entire time? These attitudes you harbor toward these people is not logically consistent with an eternal afterlife if you don't believe in eternal hell like christians do.
GoldCoinCollector 1 year ago
@GoldCoinCollector Because love is life! You are born out of love, and when you have love, you become alive! Like I am, I a very lively, very passionate, because I have alot of love! And yes it angers me when I see people who dont respect life, dont have any love for other people, so much so that they will KILL them for their own selfish pleasure. Its SICKENING to see these poor beautiful loving girls DIE because of fools. But lucky for them, life is eternal, but they will still answer to God!
FightingForFreedom23 1 year ago
@FightingForFreedom23 You just choose to interpret what I said as that.
GoldCoinCollector 1 year ago
@GoldCoinCollector I try my best not to judge others for being wrong. I dont always live up to it, but that is my intent. I wish atheists would have the same spirit of not judging things they think are wrong, like religion. You hate religion, you think the very idea of believing in God is demented and sick, you think we are psychology disturbed for believing in an afterlife, when I experienced it lol I dont know what your intent is, but I know it isnt of the highest truth.
FightingForFreedom23 1 year ago
@FightingForFreedom23 If there was an afterlife, it would make no rational since to care about your life or get upset when people are murdered since life would be eternal. I as an atheist recognize this is my ONE and ONLY. Therefore I definitely care about it. So like I said, enjoy it while you've got.
GoldCoinCollector 1 year ago
@GoldCoinCollector It does make sense because the reason youre living is to learn how to love. If you dont learn how to love, you arent evolving. If you reject love and embrace fear and negativity, you are devolving. Why cant you see that? I seriously just dont get you. Your beliefs are so simple minded, I just cant believe any smart person would believe such things. You even go so far as to say "There is nothing to not believe in because there is nothing to not believe in" Its just ludicrous.
FightingForFreedom23 1 year ago
@GoldCoinCollector You dont lose anything, you just will be shown that you were wrong. I dont judge you for being wrong though, neither does God. God is love, remember that. Im not perfect either, I still judge others sometimes, I still get angry, I still am frustrated when I see people who hurt other people and use them instead of loving and helping them. Im still on a path back to perfection myself. And that path inevitably leads to God and love. Its the essence of our evolutionary path.
FightingForFreedom23 1 year ago
This has been flagged as spam show
@FightingForFreedom23 "I dont judge you for being wrong though, neither does God." I thought the opposite was true. I thought that the main thing God cares about is that you believe in him. So if you're "wrong" and don't believe in him you go to hell. I find it hard to believe that God doesn't judge, otherwise there obviously can never be a Judgement Day, lol.
ChillTown701 1 year ago
@GoldCoinCollector And I seen you use words like "inferior" many times, youre clearly still caught in this inferiority-superiority complex, which is false. Its only a reflection of whats going on within you, everywhere you look you are judging things as being inferior or superior to everything else, and you judge yourself more than anything. Go study psychology, only INSECURE people are caught in that complex, trying to figure out if they are worthy of not. Well you are, and so is everyone else!
