You can't believe in me, but I saw it all in Brazil in the beggining of '70 at about 1972. I was just 7 years old and it all was dubbed into portuguese language with great perfection. I am not just talking about Danger Island, I saw all the programation of Banana Splits Show : Movies, cartoons, and the Bananas speaking portuguese, it was amazing!!! How I loved it all. Thanks for the post.
Noticed a numbers of blurbs discussing the sound trak! While I don't know who did the rifts for this segment... Interesting side note; the Late-Great Barry White did music for the studio early in his carrer! (I'm sure many already knew that! But it might make a cool tid-bit for those who didn't!)
Notice how Leslie changes from a bikini to her regular clothes in about 15 seconds. Later on, some episodes have action music bits taken from "Jonny Quest", another Hannah Barbera show.
does anyone know if its possible to get the soundtrack from the show ? or does even anyone know whos playing the theme song or the song in the begining?
i was a cookie crisp kid miniature cookies as cereal thats good eatin!! Hurray to all of us that were raised on tv if i had to do it over id watch even more.
...and I thought I would never see this again. I see here that I wasn't the only kid eating Cap'n Crunch watching these shows. Wow..I feel like running outside playing freeze tag, hide in go seek, hide the bacon/belt aka Hot peas and butter, stick ball and drink some Kool Aid after watching this.
@crispycritterz Yup, Cap'n Crunch cut my mouth too but they had great box prizes. What about Apple Jacks? Remember that! I'd munch on that while watching "Shazam!" or whatever it was called.
does anyone remember that program with the ship wrecked school kids with the teacher , all i can remember was a massive white sailing ship in a lagoon, it was on early 80s
Awesome show back then. The zoom-ins were hilarious. Back when times were simpler. Miss those times: Banana Splits, Jonny Quest, Valley of the Dinosaurs, The Herculoids, Space Ghost, Land of the Lost, Speed Racer, Ultraman, Filmation: Tarzan, Young Sentinels, Groovie Goolies, Freedom Force, Star Trek, Sabrina, Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, etc., Mightor, Frankenstein Jr, Fantastic Four (Hanna-Barbera version), 60's Marvel Super Heroes cartoon, 60's Spider-man cartoon, Kimba, Super Friends.
Can ya dig the groovy tunes man....it's like so mooooooving,,,, I can almost feel the colors, and the acting is sooooo riviting moves my groovy soul.....
Most of your questions have already been answered in the other posts. I will add something that is not generally known about the series. It's based on a serial of the same name released in the 1931.
Never knew that. Very interesting. Now that you mention it Danger Island has something of the Saturday morning movie serial about it. Does the 1931 serial still exist?

@KlausBe Odds are this was done in-house by Hanna-Barbera musicians. They were known for having some of the best studio talent in Hollywood.

As a 27 year old who had boss-as-hell parents, I had a healthy portion of Danger Island and Banana Splits mixed in with my Smurfs and Snorkles. = D

Since then it has resurfaced as part of the "Banana Splits" show in syndication.
