Oh Comon! Peaple Always say "I think he is going to win a lot more" after something like that. They never say "Wow... he won... good for him, probaly won't happen again do". When Roddick Won his first, when Del Potro Won, and so on... they said the same thing! Comon! Andy Murray heard so many times the speach "he is a wonderful contest and i sure he will win some day". It´s a line, everbody say it! No one say..."A-ha! In your face! Again!".
a history in tennis which was written by federer!!!but the surprisng thing was how the commentators was talking about safin safin praising!!i think they were on supprt for safin..i hardly saw any comment about tht genious roger..it was just his start to be the greatest tennis player on earth!!!go roger..u r the king!best of luck to u in u.s. open 2008!!!!u will back we r sure
Safin only lost this match because of physical exhaustion. On the way to the final he played 3 five-setters and three four-setters, including five sets in the quarter finals against Roddick and five sets in the semi finals against defending champion Agassi. Who knows if Federer would have won the tournament at all if it wouldn't have come this way?
@AAMLfan He was one of the few guys on tour 2003-2007 that could have beaten Federer, esecially on hard courts. Yes Federer is an overall better player, but Safin had the tools to be a top 2 player for a long time. Yes, he was tired in the final in 2004, and he is an honest guy, if he says he was tired, he was, however he is good buddies with Fed and has a ton of respect for him, and vice versa, so he knew that he needed to play at 100% to compete fully with Federer.
haha safin doesn't care how long he plays! he can play six hours and plays if he is playing the first point of the match!!! his physically strenght is amazing!!
no way shaolin.. not even shaolin masters could beat him in his game... plus, federer forces you his game so marat couldnt even play his "good" stuff.

Federer would have been tired to if he played 303 games, they had very uneven paths to the final.

look at federers ranked
OfficialRogerFederer 2 years ago
haha he looked like he hesitated a bit before raising his arms
and it looks like he's surrendering when he walks around the court doing the racquet clap
still looks quite classy tho

ha ha federer didn't know how to celebrate. thats one good thing that comes with age and experience, you get better at celebrating winning slams.

Only those who actually win them often, like Roger. ;)

i like how federer celebrates when he wins a grand slam...he always falls to his knees. It makes it seem more special :)

stop living your life based on what would have happened and start dealing with what really did happen
by the way stirs is correct about the conditioning and about you being a moron
BarelyListening15 3 years ago 2
both of you are morons, safin came back in 2005 and beat federer. obviously he'd beat him in 2004 if he wasn't so tired
antonmigr 3 years ago
"Obviously he'd beat him in 2004 if he wasn't so tired"
Obviously he'd beat him in 2004 if he held serve.
Obviously he'd beat him in 2004 if he broke Federer's service games more.
Obviously he'd beat him if Federer was injured.
etc, etc, etc.
Do you see why statements like that are useless?

obviously.

Federer on his best day could never beat Safin on his "good" day, noobody can beat Marat once he starts going.
