this gun looks so sexy.but down to buisness? im really want i pistol, but ive never fired a pistol(pretty much the only thing i havent shot) is it worth the money, and is it durable. im looking to use it for hog hunting as my sidearm(better safe than sorry) but is the recoil manageable? im pretty strong for my age(15) plz help
I had to have the trigger replaced on the Sigma after less than 1000 rounds. I don't like the hard trigger pull, either. On top of that, the magazine likes to pinch my hand when fired.
In my armed security class here in Orlando, I had a choice of using My Sigma 9mm, or a Glock 17. I chose my Sigma, and another guy who owned a Sigma chose to use the Glock. During the shooting drill while he was reholstering the Glock, he accidentally shot himself in th leg! That lighter trigger pull got in the way! You pussies who think the Sigma trigger is too hard would probably risk the same fate! ThankS Smith and Wesson for that internal safety!!!
@Lexingtonprepdude yes it is..bad comments usually come from people that own glocks and cant accept that the sigma performs just as good.. people tend to trust names and brands instead of reality and performance.
I have had this gun since Labor Day and LOVE it. Feels better in my hand than my husband's Glock. Got used to trigger very quickly so do let that scare you.
Good review bro. Its not the best looking gun out there, but if it works, it works. Sigs are my favorite guns, but this one for the price and reliability, its awesome. If the shoe fits, why wear another one, right? Keep it going with the reviews.
I just bought this pistol, I haven't fired it yet. I've owned a lot of handguns over the years and I don't think the trigger pull on the Sigma is as bad as some people claim. It may not be the most lightest I've ever felt, but, I've had other top name brand pistols/revolvers that was heavier.
i personally own one. no safety. but reliable. my friend owns a golck and theyre heavier. they kick more. i shot next to a sig and hit the same. the sig was faster though. but three times the price. good gun for the price. remember its smith and wesson. mr. steves is an idiot! did you buy your gun for looks. you probably wanted something that evryone knows. youre such a groupie!
Now I want this gun, have you had good experience with it? By the upload date you've had this pistol for a while what would you say it is, on a scale of 1-10?
@joelscubado a lighter trigger spring or hammer spring. ive heard though if you change out both it can cause FTF's because the hammer is too light. i would recommend just the trigger spring. and if you really want to do it the cheap way, just cut 1 or 2 links off of the factory spring and see how it feels.
Your such a tool. Bought the gun 2 days ago put 3,000 rounds through it as a USED gun and not one jam. For the price compared to a Glock its a damn good gun. Fuck off with your shitty comments.
@MrSteves08srt how the fuck am i a tool i was just saying this gun is a peice of shit! i've owned this gun before. i traded some glock 19 mags and a few boxes of winchester ranger jhp ammo for it. and i seriously doubt that you fired 3000 rounds through it seeing as you were too broke to buy a better gun! this gun has the worst trigger i have ever pulled and the parts on it are just super cheap an flimsy. so go shoot yourself with this gun then i wasnt talking to you in the first place anyways
@BoneCollector503 By the comment you just posted TOOL!!! I actually put over 3600 into it now. i Spent 600 for the gun and 3,000 round. So tell me how the fuck i didnt put them through the gun. I dont mind the trigger and for a Personal defense gun its works 100%!!! Go fuck your self with your glock ^_^
@MrSteves08srt by the way you get mad you're a tool! oh wow you have videos of you and your butt buddy smoking weed wow you're soo cool! go fuck yourself! you like the trigger because you mostly suck at shooting guns and cant hit shit anyways! go smoke some weed and watch more youtube vids and get butt hurt by other ppls comments on this that you like! i know people that do the same thing as you. smoke weed sell weed but are still broke and cant do shit with their lives! you fuckin low life!
@MrSteves08srt and let me guess you listen to hip hop and you think its cool to be a nigger? i would beat your scrawny little bitchass down if i saw you on the street you little faggot!
I love my Sigma. It shoots like a dream, no problems after all the hype. All weapons will have their few number of problems but most are easily rectified.
@cma2380 Damn!!!!!! I just bought the 40 cal S&W sigma for $350 brand new. The guns that are expensive...I wouldn't wanna know the price of them out there
I have this gun along with my concealed and I found it the perfect size for concealment. I agree that the trigger pull is a little stiff but a $25.00 tab with a gunsmith can loosen that up. Or if your a certified gunsmith like me you can do this yourself. Overall a great gun, I burned about 600 round out of the gun on the first day I got it and there was minimal jams. I havent cold weather tested it yet but when it get to about 20 below here in montana I will take it out.
i looking at the sigma or the ruger p95 kinda wanted the p95 so i was going to buy it off line well good thing i went to the gun shop and took a look at it... my hand doesnt fit right on it... so i looked at the sigma while i was there.. fell in love with it. now i gotta decide on the 9mm or the .40 i kinda want the 9mm cuz cheaper bullets but dont know yet
Bug$ that sux for you! I cant complain about my sigma series 40 cal. I have put @ least 200 rounds down range and no problems. Trigger is heavy but surely worth the money saved
@BugMoneyFishing, mine does. After I put about 100 rounds through it, the damn thing keeps stove piping on me. I've never had a problem with my Berretta and you can get one used for around $400. I would toss this gun if it wasn't my issued work pistol
I bought one today from Academy sPORTS & Outdoors for $279.99. I fired one about 2 years ago and I loved it. I think it's the best deal in the gun market today. An excellent American made gun at a reasonable price.
first gun was a glock 30, second glock 23, third glock 26, fourth s&w M&P. Smith and wesson sigma are... as u said good guns PERIOD. Dont let the price tag fool you, they are priced lower than glocks because they have to compete with glocks. I was a glock guy all the way until i bought my M&P 9, and thats all she wrote. cool vid too, very informative
I open carry the Sigma (9mm) on a regular basis. I must admit, it has the worst trigger I've ever had in my short experience with firearms. But for $400, I'm not complaining. Actually, I am. There was a special at the time of my purchase that I could get 2 extra free mags. I filled out the forms, and sent them in, and it's been a year and a half. Nothing. Darn S&W.
@JaegerMatthias For $400 you should be complaining. They're like $275 these days. Now you can get a S&W SD for $400. But for the prices they're going for now, they're great guns, especially for folks on a tight budget who want a good gun.
dang 350 is to high academy sells that glock rip off for 279. i bought it on a wed. shot it on thurs and sold it on friday.lousy trigger pull and not real accurate but ok.
@runhorun the trigger pull is so long and lousy you have a tendency to shoot low. s&w makes nice guns just not this one. its their economey brand more affordabable to the masses every one cant just go out and get an m&p on spur of the moment. same thing with sig putting out the 250(i think it is) because every one cant get an 800 dollar 226. its not a great gun, you get what you pay for. it looks like a glock and takes down like a glock but its far from a glock
I used to have this gun. If u want a cheap 9mm it is honestly a good gun. If you plan on keeping it. U won't get shit sellin it. One big problem. No safety on this gun. My opinion, if u want an inexpensive gun but high quality, buy a rock island 1911. Awesome gun. But despite the hard trigger and no safety, the sigma is a good gun. And come on. Anything Is better than a hi-point. Lol.
This is a bad ass gun, Smith and wesson all the way. When u buy a glock u are just buying a name. I sold my glock 19 for a smith and wesson bodyguard 38 spl +p. I am now saving up for this gun. I like this gun because its only 275 + tax at my local store. I can buy a few of these at that price. Nice video
Dont waist your money on this gun. If you decide to resale it you might just get about $150.00 for it. Glock 17 or 19 is worth spending the extra cash you wont regret it. I own a Sigma 9mm and I tried to trade it in at two gun shop and they nearly laughed in my face, but if you still decide to get this gun get the 40 cal instead of the 9mm. Same price more stopping power. Or if ammo price is too high then 9mm is good for the buck. $10.00 box of 9mm 50 rounds @ Walmart.
@wilmerpola777 You're right about the pitiful resale value, but if you're looking for a bargain handgun, you could do worse. Accuracy in the sigma is decent, but the trigger is miserable. And the 40 caliber round is much snappier than the 9mm, slower follow-up shots without practice. 0.044" and 40 grains do not make as big a difference as you'd make it seem.
@GSSFcarterM The difference I was talking about was the stopping power. 9mm vs the .40 cal. Is like night and day. I removed one of the springs from the trigger and it's noticeable.
@wilmerpola777 All handguns just poke holes. None of them are strong enough to create hydrostatic shock, and without a CNS shot, you're looking at multiple rounds to incapacitate regardless of the round used. 9mm and 40 cal are so similar that it's almost not worth mentioning, not to mention it's the 40 is the only one with Kb issues. Out of a smaller barrel, the 9mm makes more sense for many reasons to me. My carry gun is a 9mm, with that said, my full size is a 45.
Anybody have jams (FTF) and the slide failing to lock back after the mag has been emptied? It's my first gun and just not sure if I should just send it to smith and wessen or not...
@cmartin2112 I have owned my Sigma for a couple years and never once had a misfire. I have put a couple thousand rounds through it and never had a problem. The gun is selling for around $250 at the moment. I would definitely recommend buying it as a first gun. I conceal carry mine! Check out my page i have a video of me shooting it.
@sean00fl I bought mine a month ago I was just wondering if anybody else was having FTF issues. But I actually bought a diffrent type of ammo and now it seems to be working fine!
@sean00fl@sean00fl I bought mine a month ago I was just wondering if anybody else was having FTF issues. But I actually bought a diffrent type of ammo and now it seems to be working fine!
IM TRULY PISSED I PAID EVERY BIT OF 550 FOR MY SIGMA WISH I WOODA DID MORE RESEARCH... I HAD IT FOR ABOUT 7-8MONTHS NOW... NEVA ONCE HAVE MY S&W JAMMED ON ME... EASY TO CLEAN ALMOST NO RECOIL... JUST A TIP U NEVA SUPPOSE TO LOAD UR HANDGUN TO ITS FULL CAPACITY.... HOWEVA I H8 THAT THERES NOT REALLY ANY SAFETY ON THIS WEAPON
@sexybologna111 I never said I bought one. I was pointing out the fact that cheaperthandirtDOTcom is selling them at a low price. And, no, it's against the law to ship a firearm directly to an individual. Therefore, you'd have to have one sent directly to an FFL.
i just got mine 3 days ago shot it first time today.it has 16 round clips and i put 16 in one and 15 in the other the one with 16 jammed every time when i loaded 15 it worked fine any one else have this problem?
smith nd wesson is a ripoff of tha glock, it's ok but austrian made glock feels better nd shoots better. glock is known for it's refined quality nd reliability, so u pay for wat u get. other brands to look at is the italian made berretta or if u want a good compact look into the american made walther. top of the line pistol to get is tha swiss made sig sauer the best lookin, best feelin, nd best shooter they r expensive though nd worth every dollar u pay for it.
@1000rtodd i dunno wat ur talkin bout, it's spelled (walther) not valter look it up. it originated in germany in 1929 at the zella-mehlis location but the US is licensed to manufacture it since 1978 because of a joint venture between the two companies that was accuired by ranger manufacturing, i believe u need to get ur facts straight bro.
@Lally0011 1. u need to learn how to read, bro. 2. I said its pronounced...pronounced... pronounced.. "valter" not spelled "valter" but...im willing to assume you pronounce it like its spelled.Yes, ts spelled walther, I never disputed that...bro. 3. you saying its made in the us is both inaccurate and misleading. Some of the models may be manufactured in the us but the majority arent and ALL of the models are engineered in germany . making it a German gun not an American gun...bro. get it, bro?
@1000rtodd ur a silly goof for using BRO in every line of ur sentences, ur spelling is inaccurate nd misleading cuz if ppl r smart enough they'd know that that H is silent in walther as with many other common words within the english language. yea i know tha guns orginated in germany nd mass produced their, but tha one i bought was made in tha states so mines NOT german. which leads to tha fact that mines is american gun ok. walther used to be produced in france but production ceased in 1986...
@Lally0011 I think you are stupid....seriously...its scary to know people like you have guns. bro. again.its not the spelling, but the pronunciation. "ur spelling"?? u are a fucking moron bahahahaha.Go ahead and pronounce it like it its spelled, but the rest of us intelligent non idiots and everyone else in Germany will pronounce it the right way. and please cite your sources. production in france did not stop in 86... VW makes some cars here in the states..but they are still a german company.
@1000rtodd Listen....... FUCK YOU faggot. I think your mentally challenged and had nothing better to do other than comment on my spelling. I don't give a damn how your dick in the pussy ass pronounces it or spells it, go take a gun and shoot yourself in the head you fuckin clown. GET THIS STRAIGHT I'M NOT YOUR BRO you cock suckin queer. Bitches like you are dumbass motherfuckers in society, and just about the only thing assholes like know is to put on your tampons and blow some dicks. Silly TWAT
I picked one up yesterday at Academy for $279.99 . I took it to the range today and put about 50 rounds through it. The trigger isn't as bad as everyone says if you have average hand strength. The lack of a trigger reset did make for some odd grouping. But I would buy it again.
Just picked up my Sw9ve yesterday and shot 50 rounds of PMC and 70 rounds of TulAmmo thru it so far no FTE or FTF's for $325 background check included it can't be beat.Fits great in my large hands and the simplicity is great. The trigger pull doesn't bother me at all. Just order a rail adapter and Tac Light this morning for $25. I love it already!! plan on putting plent more rounds thru it in the years to come. It's a working mans Glock
This gun is crap but for 350 bucks and its a S&W what more do you want. Great for home defense or like he said, just to leave in the truck. Would never give it to my woman though; not user friendly enough.
This nice lady I work with found out I like guns, and said she will straight up give me this gun for free, out of the niceness in her heart. I'm pretty stoked since I've never really owned a handgun, apart from a couple .380 pocket pistols. This is so cool.lol
By the way i have the sw40ve and i can shoot a hair off a flys nutsack with it ha alright im exagerating but if your good with a pistol you can sure be accurate with these
it is now ALMOST exactly the same as the Glock. S&W ripped off the Glock design, hence the patent infringement lawsuit and subsequent out of court settlement. Part of the settlement required two changes (.5 smaller barrel and rail changes.....I believe). I have this firearm and love the hell out of it. The fact that it was cheap makes it an even better purchase.
Second Amendment – Militia (United States), Sovereign state, Right to keep and bear arms. A well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
you either like it or hate it. i've shot hundreds of rounds through mine (SW9VE) and absolutely love it (never has jammed once) why would i want to pay hundred more for a glock when i can buy this s&w version that is built exactly the same. i personally think that people are too influenced by buying a certain name brand and think less of other name brands, so they talk crap about them.
Love the feel of this gun

I bought one today from Academy sPORTS & Outdoors for $279.99. I fired one about 2 years ago and I loved it. I think it's the best deal in the gun market today. An excellent American made gun at a reasonable price.
ericroi 8 months ago
first gun was a glock 30, second glock 23, third glock 26, fourth s&w M&P. Smith and wesson sigma are... as u said good guns PERIOD. Dont let the price tag fool you, they are priced lower than glocks because they have to compete with glocks. I was a glock guy all the way until i bought my M&P 9, and thats all she wrote. cool vid too, very informative

the trigger pull isnt nearly as bad as everyone makes it sound i got use to mine after one magazine and now i dont even notice it i love my sigma

@5284goldenboy Have you ever owned a gun?
timmyjunior1 9 months ago
@timmyjunior1 Its considered hi cap because in Cali and maybe a couple of other states, you can only have 10 rounds per mag
chevyfeen86 9 months ago
@chevyfeen86 Exactly, they only let you have low capacity magazines.
timmyjunior1 8 months ago
16 is not hi cap, a 90 round drum is high cap. 10- are low and 11-40 are normal and 41+ are high cap.
timmyjunior1 9 months ago
i got mine for $300 with 3 clips and a leather holster
solidsnake200467 9 months ago
I open carry the Sigma (9mm) on a regular basis. I must admit, it has the worst trigger I've ever had in my short experience with firearms. But for $400, I'm not complaining. Actually, I am. There was a special at the time of my purchase that I could get 2 extra free mags. I filled out the forms, and sent them in, and it's been a year and a half. Nothing. Darn S&W.
>:(
JaegerMatthias 9 months ago
@JaegerMatthias For $400 you should be complaining. They're like $275 these days. Now you can get a S&W SD for $400. But for the prices they're going for now, they're great guns, especially for folks on a tight budget who want a good gun.
bigstabby 9 months ago
Got one of these at a gunshop in arizona for 275$ new was on sale.

dang 350 is to high academy sells that glock rip off for 279. i bought it on a wed. shot it on thurs and sold it on friday.lousy trigger pull and not real accurate but ok.
thefamcnaj 9 months ago
@thefamcnaj LOL, not real accurate? Maybe its your aim. A gun is still a gun and still will kill you.
runhorun 9 months ago
@runhorun the trigger pull is so long and lousy you have a tendency to shoot low. s&w makes nice guns just not this one. its their economey brand more affordabable to the masses every one cant just go out and get an m&p on spur of the moment. same thing with sig putting out the 250(i think it is) because every one cant get an 800 dollar 226. its not a great gun, you get what you pay for. it looks like a glock and takes down like a glock but its far from a glock

@thefamcnaj true lol.

wheresd the safety????
bennra26008 9 months ago
@bennra26008 it's a trigger safety like the glock's
DynastytL 9 months ago

Nice video
VideoLobby 10 months ago
Dont waist your money on this gun. If you decide to resale it you might just get about $150.00 for it. Glock 17 or 19 is worth spending the extra cash you wont regret it. I own a Sigma 9mm and I tried to trade it in at two gun shop and they nearly laughed in my face, but if you still decide to get this gun get the 40 cal instead of the 9mm. Same price more stopping power. Or if ammo price is too high then 9mm is good for the buck. $10.00 box of 9mm 50 rounds @ Walmart.
wilmerpola777 10 months ago
@wilmerpola777 You're right about the pitiful resale value, but if you're looking for a bargain handgun, you could do worse. Accuracy in the sigma is decent, but the trigger is miserable. And the 40 caliber round is much snappier than the 9mm, slower follow-up shots without practice. 0.044" and 40 grains do not make as big a difference as you'd make it seem.
GSSFcarterM 10 months ago
@GSSFcarterM The difference I was talking about was the stopping power. 9mm vs the .40 cal. Is like night and day. I removed one of the springs from the trigger and it's noticeable.
wilmerpola777 10 months ago
@wilmerpola777 All handguns just poke holes. None of them are strong enough to create hydrostatic shock, and without a CNS shot, you're looking at multiple rounds to incapacitate regardless of the round used. 9mm and 40 cal are so similar that it's almost not worth mentioning, not to mention it's the 40 is the only one with Kb issues. Out of a smaller barrel, the 9mm makes more sense for many reasons to me. My carry gun is a 9mm, with that said, my full size is a 45.

@sexybologna111 I never said I bought one. I was pointing out the fact that cheaperthandirtDOTcom is selling them at a low price. And, no, it's against the law to ship a firearm directly to an individual. Therefore, you'd have to have one sent directly to an FFL.

smith nd wesson is a ripoff of tha glock, it's ok but austrian made glock feels better nd shoots better. glock is known for it's refined quality nd reliability, so u pay for wat u get. other brands to look at is the italian made berretta or if u want a good compact look into the american made walther. top of the line pistol to get is tha swiss made sig sauer the best lookin, best feelin, nd best shooter they r expensive though nd worth every dollar u pay for it.

Lally0011 11 months ago
@1000rtodd i dunno wat ur talkin bout, it's spelled (walther) not valter look it up. it originated in germany in 1929 at the zella-mehlis location but the US is licensed to manufacture it since 1978 because of a joint venture between the two companies that was accuired by ranger manufacturing, i believe u need to get ur facts straight bro.
Lally0011 11 months ago
@Lally0011 1. u need to learn how to read, bro. 2. I said its pronounced...pronounced... pronounced.. "valter" not spelled "valter" but...im willing to assume you pronounce it like its spelled.Yes, ts spelled walther, I never disputed that...bro. 3. you saying its made in the us is both inaccurate and misleading. Some of the models may be manufactured in the us but the majority arent and ALL of the models are engineered in germany . making it a German gun not an American gun...bro. get it, bro?
1000rtodd 11 months ago
@1000rtodd ur a silly goof for using BRO in every line of ur sentences, ur spelling is inaccurate nd misleading cuz if ppl r smart enough they'd know that that H is silent in walther as with many other common words within the english language. yea i know tha guns orginated in germany nd mass produced their, but tha one i bought was made in tha states so mines NOT german. which leads to tha fact that mines is american gun ok. walther used to be produced in france but production ceased in 1986...
Lally0011 11 months ago
@Lally0011 I think you are stupid....seriously...its scary to know people like you have guns. bro. again.its not the spelling, but the pronunciation. "ur spelling"?? u are a fucking moron bahahahaha.Go ahead and pronounce it like it its spelled, but the rest of us intelligent non idiots and everyone else in Germany will pronounce it the right way. and please cite your sources. production in france did not stop in 86... VW makes some cars here in the states..but they are still a german company.
1000rtodd 11 months ago

But I would buy it again.
sturmgewehr70 11 months ago
Thats the gun I have too
pandmonium2k7 11 months ago
Just picked up my Sw9ve yesterday and shot 50 rounds of PMC and 70 rounds of TulAmmo thru it so far no FTE or FTF's for $325 background check included it can't be beat.Fits great in my large hands and the simplicity is great. The trigger pull doesn't bother me at all. Just order a rail adapter and Tac Light this morning for $25. I love it already!! plan on putting plent more rounds thru it in the years to come. It's a working mans Glock

it is now ALMOST exactly the same as the Glock. S&W ripped off the Glock design, hence the patent infringement lawsuit and subsequent out of court settlement. Part of the settlement required two changes (.5 smaller barrel and rail changes.....I believe). I have this firearm and love the hell out of it. The fact that it was cheap makes it an even better purchase.

you either like it or hate it. i've shot hundreds of rounds through mine (SW9VE) and absolutely love it (never has jammed once) why would i want to pay hundred more for a glock when i can buy this s&w version that is built exactly the same. i personally think that people are too influenced by buying a certain name brand and think less of other name brands, so they talk crap about them.
