I have a 1972 Gold Duster and am having trouble finding a couple of the side chrome trim pieces that run up the side of the car. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
This is exactly how mine used to sound......On the first start of the day.....You pushed the pedal down to the floor once..........Then started and it raced for about 3 minutes, then kicked it down to idol
I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and tank clean and rustfree
Nice car! I used to have one that my dad sold to me in 1977 when I needed my first car. His had 100,000 miles on I bought it for 400 dollars. I think what Slant6SuperSix was alluding to was the lifters being noisy. They should quiet down when the engines warms up. That engine should purr like a kitten
The engine was warming up, sounds just like it should. Single barrel carb, correct? The fuel line curving to the side gave it away. God I miss my '68 Valiant
What are you talking about? Read the other comments below. Either you need to turn the volume down on your speakers or you need a fresh Sound card. This car ran and drove nicely.
Nice Gold Duster, sounds like it runs perfect :o) I've got a '71 Dodge Dart Swinger Special with a stock 225 Slant 6. "Long live the Leaning Tower Of Power"!

@Wizardsquadron
I had a 1973 Plymouth Duster Slant Six and there was no 225 badge painted on the air filter cover so you may be mistaken...

I had a 1976 Gold Duster.. I loved the car, but it was bad in the snow - and it rusted really bad.. so we had to get rid of it...
I still, to this day, miss my Duster.. :(
