She wanted to go to prom with Bryson but decided to go with her best friend. You just have to watch the show to understand it.

To be able to put this show into context, we need to understand that it's scripted, like most MTV shows. They pass under guise of being reality TV, but they're not spontaneous, they're carefully planned. And there's nothing wrong with that. We all watch scripted TV, it's entertaining.

The real problem arises when impressionable teenagers start watching shows like these and using the characters as role models of some sort, thus creating false standards for themselves. It's too common these days.
