  • a perfect performance from a perfect band

  • Ah - the geezers can STILL rock! This is so wonderful - from an era when the music scene was all about MUSIC - and not just fashion and hype. Still have all of their albums in Virgin plastics. My son doesn't even know how a turntable works, but I never got rid of my vinyl. Got it all, Caravan, Soft Machine, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Genesis, Gentle Giant, Camel, Tangerine Dream, Gong, Eno, Camel, Hatfield & The North, Van der Graaf Generator - and I grew up in the American South - strange, huh?

  • no national health eh?

  • Oops - forgot to mention National Health - yes, I've got the first one, "National Health" (1977). However, I don't have the better one (by most accounts), "Of Queues and Cures." I'll have to sit down and have a listen to re-familiarize. Can it really be over three decades since that one was put out? Okay, God, you can take your finger off of the fast-forward button anytime now.

    Thanks for the reply!

  • i'm only 24, so i think i would like to put my finger on the rewind button for a bit and head to Canterbury in the 70s

  • my answer is in germany.

Also ich finds toll, wie die noch drauf sind.

    Alles bestens, nur weiter so!!!!!

  • awesome band personify the word UNDERATED "land of grey and pink up there with dark side of the moon for musicianship !!!! thanks for posting and long live caravan !!!!!!!!

  • awesome job..

  • Its such a shame that doug has left, as he is clearly on of the most talented guitarists in the world today. All of these guys are the most talented poeple around. My aim is to bring back the age of great musicianship.

Now doug has left (we assume is not returning) it will be great to see pye take up some more lead guitar roles, as he is more than able.

  • Caravan one of underated band in seventies. Now is the time to say: caravan is great!!!!

Flute & spoons don't cary it.

  • come sono diventati vecchi...

  • There are not bands like this one anymore. Along with Camel and Van der graaf generator they were the progressive lords. Peace

  • That's because the same band of excellent musicians are playing it live just a few years back ... glad you enjoyed it!

  • the original record sounds fresh too.. its just so creative :)

  • thanks for uploading this. my dad got me into Caravan.. its strange how it sounds so fresh, despite being written years ago.

  • I wish it would be easier to get their DVD from Finland but I'll keep trying, they're worth it. Great band!

  • One of my favourite songs of the ilk. Always inspired me. :)

  • It's comforting to see one of alltime favorite bands from the 70's still have it in spades.

  • I saw them in a school hall in the 90's.

fantastic.Drove for miles, nearly missed the gig, couldnt find the school in norfolk! itlogap has given me and continues to give me much pleasure. One of my all time favourite albums. Thanks.

  • i dont know much about caravan apart from tis song only because it was on the young ones neils heavy concept album

  • In reply to fatmessiah, Dave Sinclair is Richard's cousin.

  • Im richard coughlan's (drums) grandaughter!! this one is alot more recent then some of the ones ive seen lol Xox

  • You should be very proud of him ... he has been a member of one of the most outstanding music ensembles for years ... thanks for the comment :)

  • Hi..tell yer Dad (Matt) that Andy said "hi" and if he searches UNLUCKY FRIED KITTEN on youtube he can see some of my songs/vids. Fanx

  • Give us the DVD details please! Love this song and this band - they are prog-tastic. Of course, this is a re-made Caravan, but thanks so much for posting this. ITLOTGAP was, no is, one of the best prog albums of all time. RIP Pip.

  • Hi there ... just Google Caravan 35th concert and you'll be able to read all about it, and buy a copy of the DVD ... go on ... support these guys!

  • We Want richard on vocals !!!! thanks for posting nytram1309 Jesus how old is this album ................don't say it i feel old enough as it is !

  • :) Pye celebrated his 60th birthday recently ... but doesn't it sound fresh? Glad you enjoyed it!

  • is this stuff coming from a DVD?

  • As it says in the notes, these clips are from the 35th Anniversary Concert dvd ... buy a copy and support the band! Regards

  • Hey, thanks for posting this. This is the line-up I saw a couple of years ago. It would be great if someone could post some footage from the '90s when they had the original lineup with Richard Sinclair on bass & his brother (David?) on keys. I like the young session guy on guitar, but the most enthusiastic performance here seems to be the spoons solo! Pye trys hard with the vocal but it was Richard's song after all.

  • The you session guy you refer to is Doug Boyle, who has been a full member of Caravan for a number of years. However, he has recently moved on to do other things, a decision made while the band are on hiatus, awaiting Richard Coughlan's return to full health. BTW - Doug was lead guitar in Robert Plant's band during his "Manic Nirvana" period.
