Truly amazing, especially the tacks with the boat staying up on the foils through the turn. I am sure at least part of the success is due to the pilot.
outstanding work y was trying hardly to finish one similar but with controlled surfaces and its been imposible. apart from the regulated central spar , you write that the rudder and its fixed foil trims itself just with torsion produced by water as gaining speed? por i´m just confused.
why you use a keel?
can you expalin those decisions
thank you in advance and congratulations for the state of the art sailboat
I use a center-board for beatting better to windward; Before,I used perpendicular winglets at the end of the two foils and no center-board;that was not good, because when the wind is rising up the boat is blocked by the leeward winglet and capesizes. You can see in the first video the same case with a center-board and no winglet. Cheers Bernard
I've bent the rudder axle once and for ever. Correction of longitudinal position of the boat is automatic; when the nose dives the attackangle of rudder foil is negative and the foil sinks bottom into the water;reversely when the bottom is diving, attackangle is positive and lift the bottom.....The bending of axle is good when the boat lifts horizontally on its foils. In facts,it's very easy to do.
The incidence of foils and rudderfoil is fixed,I can adjust the foils by turning the transverse tube. The axis of the rudder is in aluminium(4mm) and adjusted by torsion.
center hull 127cm,beam 160cm,weight 1.650 kg,side hulls 56cm,mast130 or 160cm,jib 120x22cm,main120x43 or 150x56cm,foils elliptic 8x25cm,rudderfoil 13x5cm.profile of foils not important,may be plane;my foils are plan-convex and rudderfoil symetrical.

The performance is outstanding.
Are there plans available for this model?
barberhauler 4 years ago
No plans available, sorry. Three foils, three hulls, one tube,a rig, some settings and it will work like mine.that's thrue. Cheers

Thanks for your reply.
Is the incidence of the foils adjusted as the model sails or is the foil incidence fixed?
Can you give rough dimensions?
Length of center hull.
Beam.
Sail area.
Foil dimensions.
I and members of my model club are very interested.
Thank you!
