Cobra Commander IS born American. He always was. He was even drafted into the Vietnam War, which he dodged and made his brother Dan go in his place.

CC went into terrorism because he blamed the US military for his brother's death (Snake-Eyes in particular) and because as a small buisnessman, he felt the American government was out to get the little guy.

Yeah, but the "Cobra-La" line seems to indicate they're going by the cartoon, not the comic. In the Movie, his origin was that he was a mutated Exile of the hidden society of Cobra-La, apparently in the Himilayas somewhere. :X

Sadly, I'm all too aware of that. Always hated the carttoon. The Cobra-La thing was tacked on and made no sense as in the Weather Dominator miniseries we get a clear shot of the back of CC's head, and he's a bald anglo. Plus in shots with his hood his eyes and the skin around them are clearly human. No blue skin or multiple eyes anywhere. Destro even saw him eating and never made a comment about his face.

Not saying this fake campaign ISN'T still amusing. but the show is STILL pretty bad.

Then you owe it to yourself to check out the trade paperbacks of the original Marvel comic. The stories are so much better written.

Hama has also been hired to write the new IDW series too. So it'll be better than that fanfiction from Devil's Due that passed for a comic for too long.
