I agree her Bel Canto renditions aren't that great but I still think she's really talented and she has beautiful vocal color. June Anderson's rendition at the end of "The Passion of Bel Canto" is my all time favorite.
Traviata - Ms. Netrebko displayed ample power, coloratura bravura with a marvelous tone Having recently heard Natalie Dessay sing Sempre Libera at the Met Gala, one was impressed by the legato nature of Netrebko's portray in contrast to Dessay's intentional staccato, fragmented phrasing interpretation. Having also seen photos of Fleming in her current Violetta at the ROH, one can only marvel at Netrebko's resilience, endurance and commitment to bel canto opera.

love netrebko, however joan sutherland still is the greatest, and always will be.... great high (e? f?) in this piece for netrebko though!!! she really is very talented. joan sutherland is the best of all time, that includes being better than edita gruberova..... okay im done!
This is an extraordinary recording of Bellini's masterpiece. Ms Netrebko adds a personal human touch to this interpretation. Long live Ms Netrebko.
I wish She would do more Coloratura/Bel Canto , particularly Bellini' La Sonnambula and more Donizzeti's Operas. She is in her prime and should leave us all with a lasting impression of her extraordinary vocal range.
Just as Saint Joanne Sutherland did and we continue to enjoy for years to come.
Bel Canto isn't the real thing for Netrebko, but she does seem to know it. This lyric approach worked: the voice is sublime, the musicality touching, the agility adequate. But one surely misses the aplomb and gaiety a great coloratura soprano could bring to this cabaletta.
I love Anna's timbre, such a beautiful dark sound.

She shouldn't be singing Bel Canto. But I'd love to hear that creamy voice in Boheme or Traviata!

a little heavy for me, although her acting is quite good, but her notes are not the best
I miss the sharpness a coloratura would add, but that's just my personal opinion

For Netrebko even Elvira has to be a sex-bomb... The musical side and the intonation are like always the less important things.

What a beautiful high note at 4:14.
She is an angel!
But I think we can't compare her with Edita Gruberova, who is, in my opinion, the BEST Elvira!*
